Omarion Talks Meeting Apryl Jones’s BF Taye Diggs

All is well between Omarion and Apryl Jones these days, a far cry from just a few years ago. The world watched with wide eyes as the former couple was at odds on both reality television and social media. Omarion and Apryl once touted their relationship on Love & Hip Hop, and later, they welcomed two children together. However, soon, things turned sour, and they decided to go their separate ways. It was reported that co-parenting became a struggle for the ex-lovers and that animosity boiled over when Jones began dating Fizz, Omarion’s B2K groupmate.

The new romance would also reach Love & Hip Hop, and the controversy sent the internet into a firestorm. Jones and Fizz defended themselves against critics, and Omarion emerged “unbothered.” It didn’t take long for Jones to find herself once again single, but now, she’s linked with Taye Diggs. It was a surprise coupling for the public, but the pair’s silly videos and adorable posts have won over hearts. In a recent interview, Omarion revealed he met Diggs and detailed the introduction.

Omarion Finally Meets Taye Diggs

Omarion admitted that he hadn’t met Diggs before the acclaimed actor dated Jones. “I just met him for the first time,” the hitmaker told Sway Calloway. “He seems like a cool dude, know what I mean? And he has kids of his own. So, you know—and he’s an older man, so I only expect good things from him.” Omarion further shared that the meeting took place at his son’s class project event. “He came through, and it was cool. ‘Nice to meet you,’ all good.” Diggs was said to have told O that his “kids are wonderful.”

In August of last year, Diggs fawned over Apryl, bragging about his love for her. “I feel really lucky to have the career I have, coming from nothing and then getting to be where I am,” he said. “And then, the fact that this woman is in love with me. Like, I don’t [understand], I can’t, there—that’s how I know, praise you Lord Jesus or Buddha or Universe, ’cause somehow she’s next to me.” Check out the clip of Omarion speaking about meeting Diggs above. Omarion Recalls Getting Punk’d By Bow Wow At 19

Many have fallen victim to Ashton’s Kutcher’s orchestrated pranks on the popular 2000s’ series Punk’d. The gut-punching MTV classic memorably captured the faces of rap stars like Missy Elliott and OutKast as they became the butt of practical jokes. In 2003, the show aired an episode featuring R&B singer Omarion. The usually “unbothered” singer was 19 years old when he was set up by his manager Chris Stokes and rapper Bow Wow. Bow, who was Omarion’s best friend at the time, initially set up the scheme having fallen victim two episodes prior.

The scene took place at a luxe Hollywood villa, where Omarion and Bow Wow were “invited” by a group of women. One in particular, the homeowner’s daughter, proceeded to cozy up to the former B2K star poolside. She later went on to rub his shoulders as her play father marches out, visibly upset. The Italian actor then delivers an Oscar-worthy performance as he lashes out at Omarion for allegedly touching his daughter. Despite the outrageous outburst, he keeps his cool until the very end. The hilarious moment was remembered by Hollywood Unlocked, whose throwback post sparked a response from Omarion himself.

Omarion Laughs Off 2003 “Punk’d” Prank

The reality star jumped in the comments as he relived the moment with fans. “Context. I was 19yo and set up with a back rub,” Omarion remembers. “First they got me comfy & then [c]onfusion & anxiety [sad face emoji].” One user comments that although the teen was clearly scared, “he was so respectful… my boy was raised right!!!!” He also apologizes to his mom in the reply, whose grave he swore on during the prank. For those who don’t know, Omarion’s mother is still alive and well. The singer laughs it off, writing “Not sure why I put that on my mommy. Sorry momma.”

With many resurgences of Punk’d over the past decade, it’s clear no celebrity is safe. 2012’s revival of the antic-driven series saw Tyler, the Creator and Nick Cannon hosting as they pranked their celebrity peers. In 2020, Punk’d’s 11th season began airing, which saw Megan Thee Stallion being pranked in the first episode. Reboot host Chance The Rapper guffaws at the hottie’s response to her stylist being chased by a gorilla. Moreover, other unforgettable moments from the season include appearances from Lil Nas X, Ty Dolla $ign, and Offset.

2000s R&B group, B2K, is recapping their 2019 time on the Millenium Tour. After breaking up in 2004, the group reunited in 2019 to perform on the tour alongside Bow Wow, Mario, Lloyd, Keri Hilson, Pleasure P, and other artists from the early 2000s. They documented the tour in a five-part series titled, Omega: The Gift and the Curse. Throughout the three months, fans will see how the group interacts on and off the stage.

Recently, the WE network revealed a juicy trailer for the series. Omega: The Gift and the Curse will be narrated by Omarion as he gives his perspective of his relationship with his ex-bandmates. In this trailer, you can see that all group members are not on the same page. Raz B appears to have issues with J. Boog while at this time, Lil Fizz was dating Omarion’s baby mother, Apryl Jones, which also takes a toll on the group. Also, around this time, the music world received the devastating news that Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle was murdered. Viewers get a chance to see how the group was affected by the news. The series airs on WE on March 2nd.

Recently, a woman online claimed she was engaged to the “Touch” singer and sent him a total of $4,500 throughout the past few years. The woman who believes she is engaged to Omarion appeared on Dr. Phil to share her story, for which Omarion had a message for. During the episode, Dr. Phil played a recorded video from Omarion, in which he states that she needs to be careful and aware of catfishers online. The video was also posted to the R&B crooner’s Instagram page with a caption informing his supporters that he does not scam people.

“Be smart. So many people have stories saying they spoke with me online. I don’t take advantage of people. I respect and appreciate people who support me.”

Omarion Goes on Dr. Phil to Tell Fan that they are Not Engaged

Omarion Goes on Dr. Phil to Tell Fan that they are Not Engaged

There’s catfishing….and then there’s celebrity catfishing. A woman named Rachel apparently wrote to Dr. Phil, begging her to intervene in a situation with her friend Simone, who apparently believed that she was engaged to hip-hop artist Omarion.

Rachel first provided Dr. Phil with some background information about the situation. She said that Simone believed that she was talking to Omarion and that he had stated that he wanted to marry her and was planning to come visit her. However, after talking for two years, he had not come to see Simone, nor had he flown her to see him. Simone, had, however, given someone that she believed to be Omarion upwards of $3,500. She also stated that Simone had never video chatted with the “Post to Be” singer.

Dr. Phil then interviewed Simone, who said that she was in contact with Omarion’s “manager,” who had asked her for money. However, Dr. Phil brought out Omarion’s real manager, Michelle Le Fleur, who stated that Omarion did not know Simone, had certainly never asked her for money, and was definitively not in a relationship with her.

Omarion then shared a video from Omarion who addressed the issue, saying that “it’s crazy how far these people will go to manipulate my fans to think that they are actually speaking with me- from sending fake drivers licenses and passports, even Facetiming them, but claiming there was a bad connection.”

He then spoke directly to Simone, saying “I’m sorry Simone, I haven’t been speaking with you online and we are not in a relationship. You have not sent me any money. I want everyone to be aware that if someone is online claiming to be me and asking for money, that you are not speaking with me, I would not do that. All of my pages are marked with a blue check.”

He encouraged his fans to be careful and mindful about who they are speaking to online.

Dr. Phil pointed out that celebrities being impersonated is very common, with many unwitting victims believing that they are in a relationship with a celebrity, sharing stories of other fans who had believed they were in relationships with celebrities such as Post Malone, Tyler Perry, and Vin Diesel.

Omarion Responds To Woman Claiming They’re Engaged On “Dr. Phil”: Watch

For over two decades now, Dr. Phil McGraw has been providing audiences with entertainment via hilarious (and sometimes shocking) stories from everyday people. On occasion, a celebrity will appear on the hit talk show to give advice or address an ongoing situation. Earlier this week, Omarion was on to do the latter. He spoke directly to a woman who’s been claiming there was a proposal to her from the R&B superstar.

“My friend Simone has been catfished for years by someone claiming to be Omarion,” a woman named Rachel sets the scene while chatting with the host. “He’s not Omarion. I know for a fact because there’s no celebrity that’s going to ask a civilian for money,” she went on to say. According to Dr. Phil’s guest, Simone has sent her online beau at least $4,500 since they first began talking. “If he’s a superstar, why would he need her money? Only a scammer would do that, not a celebrity.”

Omarion Appears on Dr. Phil

In order to help Simone move on, producers asked the California-born singer to come on and explain to her what was really happening. “It’s crazy how far these people will go to convince and manipulate my fans to think that they’re actually speaking with me,” Omarion said in a video message after an awkward piano introduction. “From sending fake driver’s licenses and passports, even FaceTiming them, claiming that there was a bad connection, and they never even seen me.”

The 38-year-old then apologized to Simone, making it clear that he hasn’t been speaking with her online and they’re certainly not in a relationship. “You haven’t sent me any money. I want everyone to be aware that if someone online is claiming to be me, and asking for money, you are not speaking with me. I will never do that, all of my official pages clearly have a blue check.” Omarion ended his message with a reminder to “be mindful,” and practice internet security while online.

Omarion Dodges Nia Long Questions In Awkward Exchange With Paparazzi

She’s newly single and it’s unclear if she’s ready to mingle, but all eyes have been on Nia Long. The actress ended her 13-year relationship with Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka following an explosive cheating scandal that rocked the franchise. She remained silent through the pop culture chatter, but now, Long is back to promote not one but two film projects.

Long has been busy jet-setting from red carpets for Missing and You People, to popping up in Dubai with Terrence J. At the You People premiere in Los Angeles, she ran into Omarion as photographers captured their interaction. The innocent exchange turned into a viral moment after the former B2K singer shared a post on social media.

Omarion added a simple smiling face emoji to the brief clip. Quickly, as social media users often do, rumors began swirling online about some romance—or sneaky link. Long returned to join in with the laughs and made it clear that she’s a single woman.

More recently, while traveling through LAX, Omarion was spotted by the paparazzi. Of course, they questioned him about his moment with the veteran actress. The singer was quick to shut down speculation about them dating.

The cameraperson noted that Omarion was “putting the fire out, right here, right now.”

“Well, I wouldn’t say that,” Omarion replied. The photog assumed, “Oh, so there’s a little bit of a window.” O answered, “I didn’t say that. I didn’t say anything.”

It was clear that the paparazzo was looking for a soundbite to roll with, but Omarion wasn’t budging. “I just met her on the red carpet,” he added.
