Omarion Was Seen Holding Hands With Nia Long At The ‘You People’ Premiere And The Men Aren’t Doing Okay

Ime Udoka’s reported infidelity and inappropriate behavior may have lost him his job as the Boston Celtics’ coach and disrupted the team’s post-championship-run season, but at least one person seems to have benefitted from his epic fumble. And that person is Omarion.

Yeah, that’s right. Omarion. R&B singin’ in the rain, fake crip-walkin’, former boy band member, meme-sparking Omarion. But how did he benefit, as he is decidedly not an NBA player? Well, this video from the premiere of Netflix’s race relations romcom You People might clear up that question:

Yup. That’s Nia Long. The fantasy of a million millennials (including J. Cole). The inimitable star who had roles in formative pop culture pillars such as Boyz N The Hood, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, Friday, and The Best Man. And she is HOLDING. HANDS. with Omarion.

The men, understandably, are not okay.

Omarion himself seems pretty happy about it, just judging from his expression in the video above.

Meanwhile, You People, which stars Jonah Hill and Lauren London and caught some flak online for its similarities to Sidney Poitier’s 1967 Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner (and it’s less-beloved 2005 remake starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher), is streaming today on Netflix. It’s… decently funny, especially if you’re actually from L.A., where it’s set. Otherwise, maybe just stick to Poitier’s classic.

Raz B Details Setting Up Lil Fizz’s Apology To Omarion

Raz B detailed his role in ending the feud between B2K members Lil Fizz and Omarion.

The tension between Lil Fizz and Omarion spilled into the public eye after the former dated the latter’s ex, Apryl Jones. Fizz and Jones went public with their relationship, unbeknownst to Omarion. The couple ultimately split in 2020 and only then, Fizz offered a public apology to his former bandmate.

During a recent sit-down with VladTV, Raz B explained how he helped orchestrate the apology. He advised Fizz to “think about that one” before publicly apologizing to Omarion. At the time, Omarion announced his solo spot on the Millenium tour after previously touring alongside B2K. Raz explained how he and Fizz felt like it wasn’t the right time to issue a public apology.

“I feel like accepting accountability, if you really feel deep down inside that you should say sorry or that you should apologize because you feel like you dragged your boy, you did something, then that’s a noble thing to do. That’s some grown man shit right there. That’s some growth right there,” Raz said.

After Vlad read out Fizz’s apology, Raz B said it was an authentic gesture rather than a statement to grab headlines. He said Omarion felt the same way which came as a surprise since he didn’t even leave his dressing room before the show.

I know that was real. Some people question was that for real, like I sincerely believe that it was,” he said. “Because deep down in their hearts, there’s love for each other. I remember that night, Omari was like, ‘I love you, Raz,’ you know what I’m sayin’? But like, when we got to the venue earlier, he didn’t even come out and say hi.”

Raz added that he wasn’t entirely clear about where Omarion stood since he made it seem like the other members of B2K would join him when he’d perform the group’s songs. Later on in the interview, he explained that he feels Omarion is “over” B2K.

Raz B Reacts To Omarion Saying Her Felt Left Out When He Joined B2K

Prior to settling in as B2K, the Pop-R&B group went through several phases, and Raz B is giving some insight. They changed names and switched up members, and Raz caught up with VladTV to revisit those early days. During the chat, he recalled being in a group with Jhené Aiko’s brother before forming the group that we know as B2K.

“After the five [person] group, we disbanded,” said Raz. “We were shopped around to multiple labels. Everybody passed on us. But there was one label that really expressed a lot of interest, which was Epic Records.”

Vlad brought up comments made by Omarion about his introduction to the group. He mentioned the singer noting that the other members already had a “synergy” by the time he joined B2K. It was suggested Omarion felt a bit like an outsider.

“I would definitely say the fact that three of us was already in a group prior, there was some chemistry that we had,” Raz replied. “But as soon as Omarion got in the group, we immediately embraced him. But, I think just like any other brothers, everybody’s gonna have their little frictions.”

“Just because you’re in a group doesn’t mean you necessarily like each other.” Raz did state, however, that he “always made O feel very welcome in the group.”

The conflict between Omarion and his former groupmates has been well-documented. There seemed to be tension brewing behind the scenes, but when it was revealed that Fizz was dating the mother of Omarion’s children, things turned sour.

Fizz and Apryl Jones’s romance has been over for some time, and these days, she’s happily in love with Taye Diggs.

Meanwhile, the relationship between Omarion and Fizz may be better. Fizz did offer an apology for how he handled the situation with Jones. However, there was a social media dust-up when Omarion used a clip of Raz in his documentary, further straining their friendship.

Omarion is still reflecting on one of the most chaotic VERZUZ events yet. After the event was over, Mario was praised for his vocals, while Omarion was on the other end of the words from fans. In a recent update, Omarion spoke to WGCI-Chicago and stated the audio issue was because Mario’s team controlled the sound.

“Mario’s people were representing the sound in the beginning. So, you know, there could have been some level of sabotage there,” Omarion said.

Mario heard the words, and he wasn’t having it. “This guy man! How can someone sabotage your [vocal] chords bro?!” Mario wrote on Instagram. “Stop smoking bruv! That’s it fam! Some artists can’t do that! You not one of them.”

Meanwhile, Mario is currently dealing with some negative responses to his new single.

Omarion And Mario’s ‘Verzuz’ Night Was A True Mess Complete With Watermelons, Disses, And Other Chaotic Moments

Verzuz made its return tonight with its previously announced matchup between 2000s R&B favorites Mario and Omarion. The battle was a bit different from the past ones we’ve seen on the platform over the past two years. In addition to it being a live event from Los Angeles, Mario and Omarion’s battle also featured an undercard that placed Ray J and Bobby V in a battle against Sammie and Pleasure P. If you expected things to go smoothly throughout the night, we’re here to tell you that was far from the case, and it started long before Mario and Omarion took the stage.

Ray J and Bobby V’s battle against Sammie and Pleasure P featured plenty of moments that sent social media into a frenzy. There was Ray J being quite off-key as he sang his fan-favorite “One Wish.” Then, Bobby V, Sammie, and Pleasure P joined forces to sing “One Wish” on-key. Then Ray told the trio that they were “just mad y’all don’t own y’all hits.” Sammie also declared that there “wouldn’t be no Bobby V without Sammie” and he also referred to Ray J as “Brandy’s brother.”

Now, if you thought things would be much smoother during Omarion and Mario’s battle, we’re here to tell you that was also not the case. Mario repeated told Omarion and his guestsm, which included Jeremih, Tank, and more, that they sounded off-key. Omarion tried to clown Mario for not being on the Millenium Tour, but Mario said he didn’t “wanna be in that raggedy sh*t.” To make things even more out of control, Omarion and his brother O’Ryan attempted to seduce (?) the crowd by eating a large slice of watermelon on stage.

All in all, as you can see in the above videos, this Verzuz was nothing short of chaotic and entertaining.

However, if you’d like to be entertained further, you can see more moments and reactions from tonight’s Verzuz below.
