Cardi B Responds Blueface’s Review Of Her McDonalds Meal

Cardi B and Offset’s McDonald’s Meal has undoubtedly caused up a storm. Some weren’t entirely pleased with the simplicity of the combo which includes a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, a cheeseburger, large fries, two large drink, and an apple pie to share. Many of their fans hoped they would’ve created custom menu items similar to Travis Scott and BTS. However, the simplicity of the meal largely surrounded Valentine’s Day and date night and reflected Offset and Cardi B’s typical order at the fast food establishment.

Blueface appeared to be unhappy with the meal during an Instagram Live stream. The rapper ate a burger from McDonald’s with a hesitant look on his face before deeming the entire thing disgusting. Shortly after, fans attempted to use the clip to portray Blueface slandering Cardi B. Though the two worked together in the past, with Blueface recently praises Cardi for changing his life, Blue’s take on the Cardi B and Offset meal certainly upset a few members of Bardi Gang.

Cardi B Reacts To Blueface

As the internet began to get carried away with the narrative, Blueface made it clear that he wasn’t dissing Cardi B. In fact, he said that he didn’t even order the Cardi B and Offset meal from Mcdonalds’ to begin with. “That wasn’t no cardi an offset meal that was a regular mc chicken I forgot to put cheese on it an CCQ sauce,” he tweeted in an attempt to clarify his McDonald’s review.

Shortly after, Cardi B made it clear that the narrative surrounding Blueface was just another attempt at the internet trying to create beef. “The innanet be instigating like hell,” she wrote with three laughing emojis. Clearly, Cardi isn’t taking any criticism from her rap peers to heart, especially since actual McDonald’s franchisees have attempted to boycott the meal itself. Last wee, WSJ published a report revealing that several franchise owners have removed promotional signs for the celebrity meal, claiming Cardi and Offset do not align with McDonald’s values. Cardi later hit back revealing that it became one of the most successful celebrity meals in McDonald’s history.

Offset & Quavo Attend NBA Game Separately

Quavo and Offset both went to watch the Atlanta Hawks game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday (March 3), but sat separately. Of course, this reflects the two’s falling out, which affected the Migos since last year amid Quavo and Takeoff forming their own duo. Moreover, both went to the State Farm Arena in Atlanta and it looks like they sat courtside in different sections. Furthermore, the most recent chapter in Migos’ saga was Quavo’s track “Greatness,” in which he suggested the group would be no more.

Unfortunately, any issues within the group fell under the shadow of Takeoff’s tragic loss last November. In the months following his death, many close to the late rapper including his group co-members embroiled in back-and-forth fights surrounding his passing. For example, Offset got into a spat with J. Prince over loyalty, accusations of leaking information, and how they handled the loss. While the group’s conflicts defined the final stages of their career, it’s unfortunate that these wounds seem harder to heal than ever. In fact, some reports indicate that the two surviving members of the legendary rap crew confronted each other face-to-face about Takeoff’s absence.

Furthermore, the two got into an alleged brawl backstage at the Grammys after Quavo reportedly didn’t allow Offset to join him for his tribute to Takeoff. Moreover, the former performed his tribute track “Without You” during the “In Memoriam” segment. However, the latter denied such claims of a fight via Twitter, seemingly shutting down false reports. Still, alleged audio leaked of Cardi B, wife of Offset, trying to break the two apart during their reported spat.

Meanwhile, Offset’s probably busy handling backlash from McDonald’s franchises refusing to promote his Cardi B combo meal. Various locations said that there values do not align with those of the two artists, which in itself caught a lot of flack online. On the other hand, Quavo’s remained relatively quiet beyond the aforementioned track “Greatness” and his tributes to his fallen nephew. Hopefully the two can reconcile one day and keep honoring Takeoff together. With that in mind, stick around on HNHH for the latest news on Quavo and Offset.

Cardi B and Offset McDonald’s Partnership Receives Pushback

Cardi B and Offset Culture 1424x1068 1

Superstar rap couple Cardi B and Offset, partnered with the fast-food giant Mcdonald’s for their latest “Famous Orders” marketing campaign. Since the release of the campaign, backlash from some restaurant owners has come about. The owners claim that the hip-hop stars don’t align with the brand’s values.

The couple’s meal was released to correspond with Valentine’s Day and features a cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, a Coke, a Quarter Pounder with cheese, and Hi-C Orange Lavaburst.

According to The Wall Street Journal, over 1,000 McDonald’s franchisees, including some operating in Southeastern and mid-Atlantic states, have declined to promote the Cardi B and Offset meal out of concern about being associated with the artists. They believe that having Cardi B promote McDonald’s will hurt the brand because of the “profanity and sexual content” of her music.

Numerous restaurant owners have reached out to McDonald’s corporate division in recent weeks to vocalize their stance on the rappers’ lyrics and lifestyles, which they feel does not align with the company’s “family-friendly” image. According to Bloomberg News, some owners have encouraged their fellow franchisees to remove advertising and merchandise associated with the meal from their stores.

Furthemore, these franchisees also said Cardi B’s partnership with the restaurant chain breaks the “Golden Arches Code.” The code does not allow “partnerships with celebrities and influencers that have potential risk to damage our brand based on statements they have made or their positions on certain issues” and “music partnerships associated with content that includes offensive language in the lyrics.”

Still, McDonald’s is sticking by their initial decision to support Cardi and Offset by emphasizing that the deal has generated widespread support and excitement from its franchisees.

McDonald’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Tariq Hassan said, “Across our marketing, we’re focused on putting McDonald’s at the center of culture. Cardi and Offset are an iconic couple who have their own date-night tradition at McDonald’s that goes back years. We’re proud to share a little piece of that.”

This partnership follows a line of high-profile endorsement deals with artists such as Travis Scott, Saweetie, BTS, J Balvin, and Mariah Carey.

Cardi B & Offset’s McDonald’s Deal Slammed By Franchisees

Fast food companies regularly partner with entertainers for special deals, and Cardi B and Offset are the latest to link with McDonald’s. The famous franchise is known for connecting with artists, specifically rappers, but the Hip Hop couple’s limited-time meal hasn’t been accepted by all franchise owners. According to The Wall Street Journal, Cardi and Set’s partnership hasn’t been openly welcomed. Owners have reportedly voiced concern over the couple not reflecting the wholesome values of the company.

Several franchisees emailed one another, and the WSJ stated they looked into the correspondences. Some locations said they wouldn’t promote Cardi B and Offset’s meal, blaming their lack of participation on the rappers’ “lyrics and lifestyle.” The most vehement detractors even pulled promotion material from their stores and “urged other franchisees to remove advertising and merchandise.” McDonald’s reportedly hosts over 1,000 franchises.

Cardi B & Offset Accused Of Not Being Family-Friendly

Most of the complaints seem to come from the Southeast and mid-Atlantic states. Despite the reported pushback, McDonald’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Tariq Hassan said Cardi B and Offset’s meal was a celebration of love, as it was released around Valentine’s Day. In commercials, the couple eats their crafted meal on a date night. The husband and wife haven’t commented on the controversy. The franchise owner critics also haven’t said anything about the couple being a blended family with five children.

Other artists who have inked similar lucrative deals include Travis Scott and Saweetie. Cardi is no stranger to her artistry causing an uproar; songs like “Wap” and “Up” have been at the center of controversy. Even politicians have voiced ire about her lyrics from Capitol Hill to social media, and Cardi has defended herself every step of the way.

A Couple That Works Together, Stays Together

Weeks ago, as people prepared for the Super Bowl, Cardi B and Offset spoke with Complex about their new deal. “I was super excited to work with McDonald’s. And also I did a little thing with McDonald’s in New York,” said Offset. “We [did] Cactus Plant Flea market and I felt like I built a great relationship with them when I met them the first time. And for them to call back and then be able to work with them to do a big commercial… This is a great opportunity because I always loved McDonald’s growing up, too.” Check out one of the couple’s McDonald’s commercials above.

Cardi B And Offset’s McDonald’s Meal Was A Club’s Event Theme And She’s, Well, Lovin’ It

Cardi B and Offset’s McDonald’s meal is as big a hit as the duo’s musical collaborations. Whatever your judgment of the meal’s quality, there’s no denying that it’s selling like gangbusters along with the cutesy merch that accompanied it. Meanwhile, even strip clubs are getting in on the meal’s popularity; one apparently hosted a themed event with staff dressed up in signature red and yellow outfits with Cardi & Offset signage.

Cardi shared some photos from the event on Twitter, writing, “This is sooo dope !!!!! A club did a Cardi & Offset meal theme ….Why I ain’t thought about this?! I love this ….I love cheeseburgers and bad bitches.”

While things are going great on the business side of Cardi’s life, she’s found the bright side of one of her personal setbacks. Ordered to complete community service in lieu of jail time for her late 2018 strip club brawl, Cardi said that it’s “the best thing that has happened to me.” She described the service as “almost like a spiritual journey because sometimes I leave these centers in tears .Those people that we leave behind they just need somebody to talk and a lil push and YOU might be able to change their life forever.”

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Offset Gifted With Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Award

The Atlanta-Fulton Foundation recently gifted Offset the Legacy in Hip-Hop award from the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus. Moreover, the awarding took place during the 50th annual Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Heritage Dinner celebration on Thursday (February 23). Furthermore, they recognized his indelible contributions not just within music, but also in his community. Many shared their congratulations in the comments, which is unsurprising given the 31-year-old’s incredible impact as part of Migos and beyond. In addition to the ceremony itself, the Foundation congratulated the former trio member on its Instagram page, along with pics of the event.

“On behalf of the Atlanta-Fulton Foundation Board of Directors, congratulations to @offsetyrn for your 2023 Legacy in Hip Hop award from the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus at their 50th annual Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Heritage Dinner celebration on February 23rd, 2023,” they wrote. “Recognizing the many contributions you make to not only music but most importantly our community. Continue to give of yourself for betterment of the community. The award was given by the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and the Atlanta-Fulton Foundation board members were in attendance of this awesome event.”

Offset Honored With Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Award

Unfortunately, this honor comes after news of Migos officially breaking up, at least according to Quavo. In his new song, he proclaimed that there’s no Migos without the late Takeoff and seemingly shaded Offset as well. While the late Migo’s tragic passing shook all involved’s personal lives, it also carried over into business and career-driven disagreements. For example, Offset’s been in a much-publicized spat with J. Prince over Takeoff’s death. Moreover, Prince found himself caught in allegations that he had something to do with it. Apparently, he perceived many of these accusations to come from the former Migo, and they engaged in a heated back-and-forth.

Regardless, tensions between the Migos members were brewing before Takeoff’s untimely loss, and it hasn’t made them easier to handle. Recently, many believed that Offset and Quavo got into a backstage argument at the Grammys, although Offset’s since denied such claims. While much news surrounding these figures is unfortunately negative as of late, it hopefully won’t erase all the good that each member brought to the world, both individually and as a unit. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest on these stories and on Offset and Migos’ future.

Quavo Addresses The Migos Future On His New Single “Greatness”

Last year, it felt as though the Migos were officially done. The unfortunate break-up between hip-hop’s biggest trio came as Quavo and Takeoff embarked on their journey as a duo as Unc and Phew. When they dropped “Hotel Lobby,” it seemed like a strong indication that Culture III was the final bow from Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset together. Over the months that followed, the tension between Quavo and Offset became evident and the future of the Migos was uncertain.

Following Takeoff’s death in November, Quavo and Offset stated that they would be taking a step back to focus on family. They didn’t confirm or deny whether they were on better terms but fans hoped that was the case. Unfortunately, during the Grammys, Quavo and Offset allegedly got into an altercation when the latter tried to join the former onstage during his tribute to Take. Since then, neither has addressed the rumored altercation.

Quavo: Don’t Ask ‘Bout The Group, He Gone, We Gone

It seems as though there won’t be any sort of Migos reunion in the near future between Quavo and Offset. As fans continued to inquire about the future of the two rappers in keeping the Migos alive, Quavo explained on his new song “Greatness” that there is no group without Takeoff. “Came in, swept the game like a storm with the motherfuckin’ flow, n***a, Take’ did that,” he raps. “So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n***a, it can’t come back.”

Shortly after that couplet, fans believed that he took a shot at Offset when he rapped, “I can’t kick it with a fake/ And I won’t sleep with the snakes.” Though he didn’t mention names, Quavo previously suggested that there was some level of disloyalty between ‘Set and Quavo, which prevented them from rectifying their relationship. Despite the tension, he later acknowledges the impact that they had on the world. “Never forget that the Migos amazin’/ Look at the ice and the knots in my pants, you know that them young n***as made it,” Quavo raps on the song. In the outro, he shouts out the Migos as “the greatest group in the world.” Check out the video for “Greatness” above.

Quavo Drops Solo Song “Greatness,” Fans React To Migos Acknowledgement

While Migos has seemingly dismantled after the death of Takeoff, Quavo is ready to dive into a new chapter. His latest work “Greatness” dropped today (February 23rd), and he hasn’t forgotten his roots in the trio. “Never forget that the Migos amazin’,” the 31-year-old raps. Despite shouting out his former group, Quavo makes it clear in his new track that his future is looking solo. He explains within his first verse, “so don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n*gga, it can’t come back (damn).”

Overall, Quavo’s newest release is an upbeat anthem that further establishes him as an ambitious independent artist. The release follows alleged beef between Quavo and Offset, who most recently were reported to get into a physical altercation at the 65th Grammy Awards. Together, the duo was to perform a tribute to Takeoff, the third Migos member who tragically was killed last November. However, Quavo, who is the late-rappers uncle, supposedly instigated the fight over the performance of “Without You.” The song was created as a personal tribute to his nephew and with the ongoing fights between the rappers, it’s likely that Quavo wanted the emotional moment to be his own.

Quavo Raps That Migos “Can’t Come Back”

While fans were disappointed in the death of Migos, “Greatness” has been applauded as a big next step for Quavo. Twitter users took to the platform to commemorate the group’s 14-year run. “Finna hear the best music he ever made after that sacrifice,” one user tweeted.

But, not all fans are happy with how events have unfolded. In fact, many are upset over the “selfish” route Quavo has taken to music. One user wrote, “of course Migos won’t ever be the same but Quavo is dragging it. He is still beefing with offset and it’s other shit to worry about.” Another commented his disappointed, tweeting “if you told me in 2013 that 10 years later takeoff would be dead and quavo and offset would hate each other i prolly woulda tried to beat yo ass.” You can check out more Twitter reactions down below.
