Megan Thee Stallion Claims She Removed Certain Lyrics From “Hiss”

Megan Thee Stallion is taking a week long victory lap. As Billboard announced earlier this week, she now has the number one song in America. That song is her new track “HISS” which sees her absolutely unloading on a variety of her critics. Though many fans have focused on her shots at Nicki Minaj, she takes aim at seemingly everyone who has ever wronged her during her years in the public eye. While it seems like she’s holding absolutely nothing back on the track, that may not have actually been the case after all.

During a recent Instagram live stream, Megan revealed that the already-packed song could have had even more venom. “HISS had a lot more sh*t. But what y’all heard is very condensed,” she claimed. Even though it’s hard to imagine what more ground she could possibly even have to cover, fans believe her. But the bulk of responses to her claim came from Barbz. Even though just a few lines in “HISS” were about Nicki, she didn’t take it lightly. She spent the entire following weekend making hundreds of tweets about Megan and released a diss track. Nicki’s response “Big Foot” mentions Megan directly multiple times even though Megan never used Nicki’s name in “HISS.”

While Megan’s song immediately stormed to the very top of the Hot 100, Nicki’s response landed at #23 with less tracking days. But while “HISS” has remained at the very top of Spotify’s US Daily chart, “Big Foot” has been freefalling. Last week after 4 tracking days on the charts “HISS” was still leading the way while “Big Foot” took a massive stumble to well outside the top 100.

The slip is a bad omen for “Big Foot” on the Hot 100 next week. What do you think of Megan Thee Stalling revealing that there was more to “HISS” that was cut out? What else do you think the song may have originally included? Let us know in the comment section below.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Producer Claps Back At Nicki Minaj As “HISS” Hits #1

Many of Megan Thee Stallion’s biggest hits start with the distinctive producer tag “And if the beat live, you know Lil Ju made it.” That tag belongs to LilJuMadeDaBeat who has worked with Meg pretty extensively. Unsurprisingly, he became lumped into the beef between Meg and Nicki. That came during a Twitter spaces with Joe Budden last week. It was an already controversial moment for the Nicki claimed that Meg’s shooting incident with Tory Lanez in 2020 was her trying to have a “Rihanna moment.”

While that comment justifiably took up most of the attention Nicki also took a pretty petty shot at Lil Ju. She described the producer as “doo doo on the beat,” which is so childish it’s almost hard to get offended by. That’s why it’s no surprise that Lil Ju was able to have some fun with the name. Earlier this week Billboard announced that Megan Thee Stallion’s song “HISS” had debuted at number one on the Hot 100. “Lil Doo Doo On The Beat Produced A Number 1 Hit,” he said in a tweet accompanied by a hilarious gif. Check out his response to Nicki below.

Megan Thee Stallion’s Producer Has Jokes

Megan Thee Stallion and her producer are both in the midst of a well deserved victory lap. “Hiss” skyrocketed up the charts to score a debut at the very top spot on the Hot 100. It’s a feat reserved for only the biggest artists around like Ariana Grande who landed her new single “yes, and?” at the top spot in its first week earlier this year.

Megan took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement. “Thank you thank you thank you ! Thank you GOD, Thank you MAMA HOLLY, Thank you to EVERYONEEEEE that took the time out of their week to go hard and make this happen! I love you I appreciate you I’m so grateful. likeeee #HISS is number 1 !!! Thank you for RUNNING IT UP HOTTIES. Let’s keep going hard and staying positive ! Love yall” her tweet reads. Summer Walker Gets Hate From Barbz For New Pics With Megan Thee Stallion

A beef between two of the biggest stars in all of rap music have a lot of their musical contemporaries picking sides. Last week, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion unleashed a pair of new songs. Megan led the way with “HISS” which took at at MANY of those who have wronged her and though it doesn’t mention Megan by name, many fans were able to read between the lines. Nicki’s response “Big Foot” is all about Megan and uses her name repeatedly. “Big Foot” was widely criticized online for its lack of clever punch lines and use of details that some fans called straight-up lies.

Many collaborators and contemporaries of the pair have tried to say as little as possible about the beef. But others have enthusiastically taken sides. The most recent may be R&B darling Summer Walker. She drew the ire of Barbz with a recent Instagram post where she poses alongside Megan. The caption-less post features two pictures of the pair separated by a shot of Walker alongside Mariah Carey. In the comments of the post fans of Nicki Minaj got upset and snarky at Summer’s pictures. “Now summer you knew better…smh” one comment reads, but it isn’t along. “summer ily but don’t let it happen again” and “Free Tory” two other comments read.

Summer Walker had the chance to take home her first ever Grammy last night. Technically, she was included in the nomination for Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers last year. But this year she was nominated for her own music for the first time when her CLEAR 2: Soft Life EP scored a nomination for Best R&B Album.

Walker didn’t take home the award though. It was ultimately given to Victoria Monet who also took home the Best New Artist award later that night. JT Once Again Faces Backlash After Newest Nicki Minaj Tweet

For the second weekend in a row, Nicki Minaj found herself grabbing quite a few headlines. This time it had to do with the Grammys which took place in Los Angeles Sunday night. Minaj has racked up 12 nominations in her more than a decade-long career in popular music but has never secured a win. For a moment, that seemed like it might have changed though. During the pre-show livestream that preceded the actual broadcast, they handed out most of the night’s awards. That included many of the specifically rap-oriented Grammys.

On the pre-show stage, they announced that the award went to Killer Mike for his song “SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS.” It was part of a sweep of the rap category that led to quite a bit of celebration from the rapper, though it also resulted in his arrest for a reported physical altercation. The only problem, the Grammys Twitter account posted the wrong winner. They shared a post to social media naming Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice’s “Barbie World” as the winner of the award. That mistake has scores of Barbz online claiming the Academy was disrespecting Nicki. That’s when City Girls rapper JT once again took to Twitter to discuss Nicki. Check out her newest tweet below.

JT Stands Up For Nicki Minaj After Grammys Post Mistake

In the comments, fans unsurprisingly criticized JT again. “You don’t even defend yourself this much” and “Here comes the lapdog” two of the top responses read. She replied to one of those comments trying to defend herself claiming she also supports her own music just as hard. What do you think of JT’s new tweet about Nicki Minaj? Why do you think the Grammys tweeted out the wrong winner of the Best Rap Song award? Let us know in the comment section below.

The Recording Academy Mistakingly Announced Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s ‘Barbie World’ As A Grammy Winner On X, Which Didn’t Go Well

The 2024 Grammys are just as nerve-wracking for musicians as it is for the team that makes the ceremony possible. Unfortunately, considering that it is music’s biggest, there is no margin for era. Sadly, the poor social media manager over at The Recording Academy is learning this the hard way.

As the rap categories were being announced, the organization’s social media team got one coveted winner wrong. In a screengrab captured by Pop Crave, The Recording Academy announced Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’sBarbie World” as the winner of the Best Rap Song. The only problem is, as the ceremony was being broadcast, Killer Mike was the actual winner.

Minaj’s die-hard fans, the Barbz, have already begun to slam The Recording Academy online for the mix-up. Some have even started conspiracy theories that Roc Nation pulled strings to get the win pulled due to Minaj’s ongoing beef with Megan Thee Stallion.

Although the record, which was featured on the Barbie movie soundtrack, the compilation has already pulled in other wins, including Best Song Written for Visual Media (for Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” and Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Trinidad James Gives His Take On Megan Thee Stallion & Nicki Minaj Beef

Everyone has something to say about the Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion rap beef, especially their peers in the game. The latest to do so is one Trinidad James, who recently caught up with TMZ at what seems like an airport, and they presumably asked him about the two femcees clashing right now. Overall, he discussed how they are launching personal attacks at one another and their families, but he also brought up hip-hop’s history of lyrical competition. As such, the “All Gold Everything” artist thinks that this is fair game and an important factor to uphold, and also spoke on power imbalances between them.

“Number one is a heavy crown to wear,” Trinidad James remarked. “Most people don’t ever get a chance to wear the crown. So, it’s really hard to judge the actions of a number one type of person. You won’t get it because you haven’t been to that plateau. So I say that to say that, in the Nicki and Megan situation, it’s always unfortunate when people’s families catch strays in beef, but the essence of rap and hip-hop is about lyrical competition.

Trinidad James On Nicki Minaj & Megan Thee Stallion Beef

How low below the belt you go is unfortunate, and that takes back to somebody’s character,” Trinidad James continued. “But the basic essence and formula of rap and hip-hop is lyrical competition, and that’s how I see it. I mean, you had Jay-Z and Nas back in the day, and they said pretty cr*zy things about each other, too, at the time when “Ether” and things of such came out. Again, Nicki is a veteran in this, and so she came up with real hunters. Real killers, who they’re not really about using their hands for anything. Their words is their power, their words is their sword.

“So, however somebody is feeling when they’re really good with words… if they’re really good with them, it’s gonna sound intense because that’s what this is, it’s lyrical competition,” he concluded. “This is hip-hop, this is rap, bro! You gotta rap to rap, and you gotta stand on your raps. This is not a girl’s club, this is not a tea party. This is a place where your words pay your family and your legacy for life. Defend yourself! That’s what I’ma tell Megan, that’s what I’ma tell Nicki: defend yourself.” For more news and the latest on Trinidad James, Nicki Minaj, and Megan Thee Stallion, come back to HNHH.

JT Called Out For Supporting Nicki Minaj Despite Megan Thee Stallion Bond

Whenever two huge rappers start beef, it’s always tough for other artists and collaborators to work with one without dismissing the other. However, in the case of Nicki Minaj versus Megan Thee Stallion, this might put many more female rappers against each other based on their perceived allegiance, which is a sad reality. For example, the former recently played JT’s new song “Sideways” on Stationhead, and she thanked Nicki for her support. Under coverage of this co-sign on Instagram, many fans called out how the City Girl has worked a lot with Megan in the past, with the Houston MC even advocating for her freedom at one point. Now, though, the Florida rapper is more closely aligned with her former collaborator’s current rival.

Of course, this doesn’t really mean anything in the grand scheme of things. JT can easily work with both Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion and maintain a personal bond with them. No rap beef should limit artists from making the art they want to make with who they want to make it with. Still, many fans believe this is a public switch-up with some more damning context behind it. “All I’ll ever think of is when she called JT out on that live and made her rap that diss track she made,” one fan claimed in a comment on the post below. “girl y’all aren’t friends she just needs a lapdog to do as she says.”

JT Blasted For Switching Between Nicki Minaj & Megan Thee Stallion (See Comments)

Furthermore, this also pertains to previous instances of the City Girls dissing Nicki Minaj and other big femcees during their come-up. JT even addressed this with the Trinidadian hitmaker during an Instagram Live session, and some fans think that she just submitted to being in an inferior position. On one hand, it’s heartening to see past feuds wash away, but on the other, the timeline is inconsistent to follow, especially when compared to the 31-year-old’s relationship with Megan Thee Stallion. It’s all very unclear and hazy, but that didn’t stop the criticism from flowing in.

Meanwhile, with the Traumanize lyricist acting relatively unscathed on social media about this beef, it’s unlikely she has legitimate ill will toward her former collaborator. Well, Nicki’s also a former collaborator, so perhaps only time will tell. Nevertheless, hopefully more artists and fans can advocate for an easing of tensions given everyone involved’s talent. On that note, keep checking in with HNHH for the latest on Nicki Minaj, JT, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Nicki Minaj & Cardi B Actually Agree On Something: A New AI Regulation Law

Nicki Minaj may be popping off on Megan Thee Stallion right now, but in many’s eyes, her main antagonist as a femcee is Cardi B, and vice versa. Their feud, however vague or subliminal, rages on following years of alleged incidents, battles between their partners, and fanbase clashing. But any two rivals can come together if it’s for the right cause, and they found one in a new bill proposed in the U.S. Congress to regulate artificial intelligence. The bipartisan No Artificial Intelligence Fake Replicas And Unauthorized Duplications Act (“No AI FRAUD”) was introduced in the House on January 10, and Nicki and Cardi joined over 300 other artists and creatives in signing an open letter supporting it.

Furthermore, other big names include 21 S*vage, Chuck D, Common, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Questlove, Smokey Robinson, and many more. The “No AI FRAUD” act would federally protect voices and likenesses from unchecked replication with AI technology. The Human Artistry Campaign (H.A.C.) published this letter as a running ad in print editions of USA Today on Friday (February 2). “The No AI FRAUD Act would defend your fundamental human right to your voice & likeness, protecting everyone from nonconsensual deepfakes,” it reads. “Protect your individuality. Support HR 6943.”

Cardi B & Nicki Minaj Join Hundreds Of Artists Seeking AI Regulation

For those unaware, the H.A.C. relayed seven core tenants about this technology back in March of 2023. Of course, these include proper licensing for artistic works used to craft AI models and limitations on the government’s ability to change intellectual property law to provide exploitable exemptions that artificial intelligence developers could take advantage of. Not only that, but this new act follows the “NO FAKES” Act from October of last year. The “No AI FRAUD” Act’s architects are Representatives María Elvira Salazar (R-FL), Rob Wittman (R-VA), Nathaniel Moran (R-TX), Madeleine Dean (D-PA), and Joe Morelle (D-NY).

“It’s time for bad actors using AI to face the music,” Rep. Salazar stated when they announced it. “This bill plugs a hole in the law and gives artists and U.S. citizens the power to protect their rights, their creative work, and their fundamental individuality online.” What’s more is that Tennessee’s Governor Bill Lee proposed similar legislation on the same day: the Ensuring Likeness Voice and Image Security -– or “ELVIS” -– Act). Nevertheless, “No AI FRAUD” received support from many industry titans like the Recording Academy, Universal Music Group, and more. No wonder Cardi B and Nicki Minaj saw eye to eye. For more news on them and the latest updates on artificial intelligence in music, check back in with HNHH.

Fans Believe Megan Thee Stallion Is Taunting Nicki Minaj With Her Roc Nation Affiliation Amidst Their Ongoing Beef

The countless references to anime in her music make it abundantly clear that Megan Thee Stallion is a manga nerd (an otaku, if you will). But yesterday (February 1), the “Cobra” rapper showed off her deep Rolodex of reality television moments. While on the set of a secret project, Megan quickly caught up with her biggest Hottie fans on the internet radio broadcast app, Stationhead.

During the stream, Megan revealed that she’s finding herself in a much healthier mental space since the tumultuous obstacles she faced last year. After revealing that she’s working on a documentary about her life, she went on to say that she’s gotten reprimanded for giving away too much content online. However, users online believe that Megan subtly taunted her foe, Nicki Minaj, in the closing moments by leaning into her Roc Nation affiliation.

“Don’t make me call Porsha,” Megan joked about her management team getting reinforcements to stop her from oversharing. The reference to Bravo’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta then turned into, “Don’t make me call Roc Nation.”

After the clip hit social media, users online took the line to be shade toward Minaj based on her recent jabs at the company. On January 29, during the height of their (“Hiss” versus “Big Foot“) sparring season, Minaj slammed Roc Nation on X (formerly Twitter) for promoting Megan’s diss record toward her.

“Spending so much money,” she wrote. “But she’s the lil broke independent artist. Desiree, you gotta let it go, baby. The world knows she’s ass & can’t rap. Stop f*cking trying to make fetch happen. #BigFOOT. I just put out a song with no promo, no video, and it’s already #2. ”

Is it shade? It very well could be, and given Megan’s clever use of double entendres (that recently almost led to a potential lawsuit), you certainly can’t put it past her.

Nicki Minaj Casually Plays “Big Foot” For IG, Her Comments Flood With Haters

Nicki Minaj has been on a heated rampage for the last week or so, but it looks like things might finally start slowing down. Well, on her end, because fans are no less prone to leaving negative comments and criticisms on social media as a result of her new diss track towards Megan Thee Stallion, “Big Foot,” and the meltdown that she engaged in and targeted against others. Moreover, the Trinidadian MC published a video in the late hours of Thursday night (February 1) of her just vibing out to the song. While there were plenty of Barbz in the comments section, there are also a lot of folks tired of seeing her lash out in this way or that think she’s making things worse for herself.

“the fall off nicki is a hard watch,” “So y’all just gonna ignore the wig cus she nicki ?” and “you still have time to delete this …” were among the most popular comments in terms of likes under this Instagram video. But does Nicki Minaj deserve this backlash for pushing a rap beef and calling out alleged industry wrongdoing? Unfortunately for her, it goes far beyond that: the “Megan’s Law” bar on Meg’s “HISS,” salacious claims with no evidence so far, and threats against other entities, industry peers, and higher-ups. Add on top of that a Ben Shapiro endorsement and many fans are expressing disappointment online.

Nicki Minaj Blasted By Fans Under Video Of Her Chilling Out To “Big Foot”

Still, this is the woman who wrote “Monster” and hit big with “Everybody” recently; things will die down, many will forget, and the Barbz will go back to being the main participants in Nicki Minaj’s Internet presence. However, that will only come when she moves past all this in a significant way. After all, Megan Thee Stallion seems quite unbothered by the whole thing for the ‘Gram, so it’s unlikely at press time that she will respond with another song. Couldn’t the 41-year-old claim this as an automatic victory and just move on, regardless of what fans think?

Meanwhile, with the commercial performance of “Big Foot” seemingly declining, that will likely determine what will hopefully be the last battle of this war: the sales for each combative record. While this is by no means an important metric (especially in rap beef), it will determine the public narrative about who came out on top. Let’s see if either MC does anything in the near future to change that. On that note, come back to HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Nicki Minaj.
