Barack Obama’s Summer Playlist Excludes Drake And Kendrick Lamar

Barack Obama’s summer playlists are an annual tradition. The former president loves to clue fans in on what he’s listening to, and co-sign lesser known artists. Obama’s 2024 playlist has dropped and it has a pretty diverse mix of classics and new releases. The Rolling Stones is sitting comfortably next to the likes of Tems and Billie Eilish. Tems cracked the list with her sultry single “Love Me Jeje,” while Eilish popped up with her song “Chihiro.” Fans were just as intrigued by the titles that didn’t make the cut as the ones that did.

Other notable artists who appeared include Common with his 2005 track “The People” and Beyonce with her latest hit, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The latter makes complete sense, given how close Obama and the Carters are. Obama’s wife, Michelle, praised Beyonce’s album Cowboy Carter on social media when it dropped. “With Cowboy Carter, you have changed the game once again by helping redefine a music genre and transform our culture,” she wrote. “I am so proud of you.” The 2024 list was light in the hip-hop department, though. Besides “The People,” the only true blue hip-hop song to make the cut was “How Do U Want It” by Tupac, K-Ci & JoJo. Read the full list below.

Barack Obama Omitted Both Drake And Kendrick Lamar

R&B got a little more love, between the H.E.R. song “Process” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.” The two biggest omissions, however, were Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Their battle will go down as the biggest hip-hop story of the year, and yet neither of them are represented here. Barack Obama didn’t feel like including obvious hits like “Like That” or “Not Like Us.” He didn’t even go the other way and pick Drake’s “Family Matters.” That said, Obama has made it clear that he leans more towards Lamar than he does the superstar Canadian.

In 2016, Barack Obama was asked whether he preferred Drake’s album Views or K. Dot’s To Pimp a Butterfly. He chose the latter without hesitation. “Gotta go with Kendrick,” the former President stated. “I’m just saying, I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer, but Kendrick, his lyrics, his last album was outstanding. [To Pimp a Butterfly was the] best album I think of last year.” Kendrick Lamar shouldn’t feel too bad, though. His single “Die Hard” made Barack Obama’s 2022 summer playlist.

Jazmine Cheaves, owner of a big-time salon in Atlanta, Georgia, as well the older sister to Jayda Cheaves, is not in the good graces of the internet. A clip of Jazmine Cheaves yelling at her five-month-old son, Blaze, is making the rounds right now. Moms tend to get frustrated with their kids, even at this stage of their lives. While it’s not really the right thing to do, it seems to be even more about what she said that is setting people off. In the video, you can hear her shout at him, “Blaze I told you you’re not a girl, stop screaming”. Then, just a second or two later, she talks to her followers, presumably through a TikTok or Instagram Live to explain why she did that.

“Yes, this is what he does all day, he just yells… I don’t like when he do that screaming s***, he’s not a girl”. Unsurprisingly, this has led to a lot of upset X users, which is where this clip is posted. One person replies bluntly, “She got the brain of a BBL”. Another shares that same sentiment, “These the kinda b****es that stan megan the stallion”.

Fans Are In An Outrage Over Jazmine Cheaves Mothering Techniques

Others were pointing out the basic things babies do when watching television shows, especially ones that excite them. “Uhhhh B****.. he’s excited. Tf.” Additionally, people are pointing out the current issues we face with men not being able to express themselves and how it starts when their babies. “He doesn’t have to be a girl to cry. First off he’s 5 months, thats a whole baby that can’t communicate yet. Second off that’s whats wrong with society today. Men grow up not being able to express their emotions then we complain about how they act when they are adults🤦🏽‍♀️”.

Tamar Braxton Admits She’s “Single & Sad” Before Deactivating Social Media

Tamar Braxton admitted she’s been feeling “single and sad” in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). She also described herself as married to Jeremy Robinson and said she regrets her family reality TV series, The Braxtons, which premiered on August 9th on WETV. Tamar and Jeremy attended a screening of the show together, last week.

“JR means the world to me… thank God for him… my husband and my children has saved my life!!!! But, I’m so mad at my life… my family is TOXIC!!! I should have NEVER went back to BFV!! NEVER!!!” In a follow-up post, she added: “Y’all I’m going through it. I’m single and sad and this TV s*** is a lot. Y’all have NO idea!!! NONE!!! The gas lighting is CRAZY!!! And I’m going back into treatment!!!! Omg I just pray that my marriage can be saved and my life can be spared. My family is AWFUL!!!” She deactivated both her X and Instagram accounts afterward.

Braxton’s mother, Evelyn, had much more positive feelings on the premiere of the new show in her own statement caught by Hot 97. She wrote: “Thank you all for sharing our lives. I hope that through each one of our experiences, you’ll grow with us. Inspiring you in your endeavors, and teaching you the importance of family, love, and experiencing life. Remember, we’re not perfect, we’re only human. Look at God.”

In this collage, the “Big Mouth” artist has nine different shots to share while wearing a Puerto Rican flag bikini that leaves little to the imagination.

From numerous angles, she flexes her beach bod from the front, side, and of course the back. In fact, the second slide sees Rubi Rose show off her flexibility by doing the splits. Drake And Jay-Z Squashed Their Beef With Help From Elliott Wilson

Drake and Jay-Z had a close relationship early in the former’s career. The duo made two songs together, “Off That” and “Light Up” for The Blueprint 3 and Thank Me Later, respectively. Soon after, the two engaged in a friendly competition when Drake rapped about feeling that the throne was for the taking on “I’m On One,” a not-so-subtle reference to the Kanye West and Jay-Z collaborative album, Watch The Throne. In a Rolling Stone interview, Drake criticized Hov for the repeated art references. Jay-Z shot back on his freestyle over Soulja Boy’s “We Made It,” referring to Drake as “Miss Drizzy” and calling out rappers for never living their raps. The two patched the rift soon after.

In a new episode of The Bigger Picture podcast, Elliott Wilson explained how he helped get the two to squash their beef. “I got them back together, I got them to talk,” Wilson said. “Around the time when Drake was doing the tour with Lil Wayne and they had a show in Queens, Drake came backstage and hugged me and was like, ‘I spoke to Hov. We’re figuring it out.’ He was excited that they had finally talked,” he added.

How Elliott Wilson Helped Drake And Jay-Z Squash Their Beef

After the pair reconciled, Drake and Jay-Z collaborated again on “Talk Up,” a track from Drake’s 2018 album Scorpion. That is their most recent song together, though it does not seem that they have any leftover beef with each other.

Drake and Elliott Wilson have had their own falling out since then. The UPROXX Editorial Director and former head of Rap Radar is no longer on the best of terms with the Canadian rapper. Wilson claimed that he was “blacklisted” from Toronto after the battle with Kendrick Lamar. Wilson was highly critical of Drake’s tracks in Lamar’s direction, declaring Lamar the winner after “Not Like Us” dropped. The longtime hip-hop journalist was an early proponent of Drake. He had the opportunity to sit down with the rapper in 2020 for an all-encompassing interview. However, things changed in the last couple of years and got even worse this past spring. Maybe those two could use a third person to help get them to navigate their own issues with one another.

2 Chainz Claims He Was Scammed Out Of $1.5 Million For Cannabis Dispensary

An investment company representing 2 Chainz has filed a lawsuit against a dispensary shop called Pineapple Express Hollywood in Los Angeles Superior Court. They claim the cannabis company scammed him out of $1.5 million that he put into the opening of the store. It was originally supposed to open by April 2021, but a series of delays occurred and caused that date to be pushed back to March 2022. When he made the investment, 2 Chainz claims he was given the option to withdraw 110% of his money with 30 days’ notice.

The lawsuit states that the company failed to comply with the investment group’s request for a return of the investment in May of that year. Eventually, in that December, Chainz personally reached out to co-founder Vincent Zadeh to inquire about the delay. Zadeh apparently told him his return agreement would no longer be honored. According to Hot 97, several other investors and business partners have already taken legal action against Zadeh for his dealings. In one instance, the firm is accused of never filing its income taxes and owing nearly $1.69 million in back taxes.

2 Chainz Performs During A-Town Music Festival In Georgia

Pineapple Express co-founder, Matthew Feinstein, told the SFGATE that the lawsuit is inaccurate and they don’t owe the rapper anything. While the location has since closed, they plan on reopening in September. In 2 Chainz’s lawsuit, he notes that Snoop Dogg’s tour manager Damien Roderick introduced him to the company. He has yet to comment on the lawsuit publically.

Young Buck Finally Able To Repay His $250,000 Debt To 50 Cent

According to a report from AllHipHop, Nashville rapper Young Buck, former G-Unit member, is now able to repay 50 Cent. This of course stems from the longstanding dispute between these two mortal enemies over failing to meet contractual obligations. Young Buck had to file for bankruptcy in May of 2020 due to severe financial struggles and jail time as well. However, because Fif felt that Buck was not living up to these requirements, the G-Unit boss was trying to block him from filing for bankruptcy. Overall, it seems that the head honcho has won the never-ending back-and-forth. Overall, $250,000 was the target for the multi-hyphenate, and he’s getting all of it.

“According to documents obtained by AllHipHop.com, Buck has sold enough assets from his estate to cover all outstanding claims, including his debt to 50 Cent”. The publication goes into further detail on exactly what Buck had to sell off. That reportedly includes jewelry, vehicles, and his catalog. Overall, all of this turned out to total $1,023,669.67.

Young Buck Can Reset After Paying 50 Cent

On top of removing this massive figure off his plate, Young Buck is also able to clear off his child support burden. That number has accumulated to $190,000 and is owed to the IRS. This has to be a great feeling for the Tennessee native, regardless of how he feels toward 50. It might be a decently long road back, but the veteran MC can start over a bit and focus on his future.
