Tyler, The Creator Calls Out Hackers & Over-Obsessive Fans For Being “F***ing Weirdos”

Tyler, The Creator keeping it real in any scenario is Grade A content. In this case, the California multi-genre superstar is speaking on the hacking community at large, as well as fans who feel they are entitled to know everything. This is one of many discussions that him and Maverick Carter have in their brand-new interview. You can find it on the YouTube channel SpringHill, which is a media company ran by Carter and LeBron James. The show is called Mavericks with Mav Carter and he interviews tons of influential figures across all sorts of industries. Their sit-down was teased online yesterday with a sub one-minute clip of him going off the new generation of rappers and how they don’t value being a true musician.

As we mentioned, the segment we are focusing on here is about internet culture and how fans want to be as connected as possible to the celebrity. As you could probably guess, Tyler, The Creator is not a huge fan of this societal shift. “Because you like a song, or because you like a movie, that gives you permission to be a f***in’ weirdo?”. That is just one of many hilarious but real quotes from the IGOR MC. This topic came to light through Carter asking him about a time when he said making music is tiring. If you know his personality, Tyler doesn’t mean that 100 percent seriously. However, because of how many “kids hack everything”.

Tyler, The Creator Is Funny But Real At The Same Time

“They wanna know who your sister is, and like what you ate for dinner, like mind your f***ing business, go the f*** outside and listen to the damn art or the music. Like mmm”. Later he adds, “Because of the internet, people don’t know personal boundaries no more and its normalized and everyone thinks this s*** is cute, it’s like ‘we don’t know each other’”. Overall, he feels that fans getting the music isn’t enough anymore. Instead, they are “showing up to doorsteps… hacking this… following n****s’ moms home because [they] like a song”.

What are your thoughts on Tyler, The Creator calling out hackers in music and over-obsessive fans? Does he make some astute points here, why or why not? Tyler, The Creator Goes After Ian For Mocking Black Artists

In a new interview with Maverick Carter for his series Mavericks, Tyler, The Creator sat down to talk about the state of hip-hop. He denounced “meme” rappers and those that the hip-hop world unjustly continues to make popular. “I don’t wanna seem like a hater. Sometimes I have hater energy ’cause I just think I’m that good,” he said. “I love this art form so much bro and there’s so many n****s out right now that aren’t musicians that are getting treated like musicians ’cause they make meme records. Publicly, they’ll be like, ‘I don’t give a f**k about music. I just do this s**t for money.’ It’s the Spider-Man meme of the next n***a when every publication is like, ‘Hell yeah, let’s put that out.’ You’re taking up space from n****s like me.”

One rapper Tyler, The Creator took aim at was St. Louis-based artist Ian. Ian frequently receives criticism by hip-hop fans because they consider him a Gucci Mane clone, or as someone pretending to be a rapper. Tyler seems to be one of those critics, though not by name. “This white kid, regular Caucasian man, and he’s like mocking Future and Gucci Mane like… rap music,” Tyler said. This is like… weird. Something about it don’t even sit well with me, in comparison to someone like Mac Miller or Eminem […] they had a genuine love for it, and they were still big.”

Tyler, The Creator Criticizes Ian For Mocking Black Artists

Tyler’s criticism of Ian and the greater hip-hop landscape are not new ones. Fans, critics, and rappers alike have lamented the lack of creativity in the mainstream hip-hop space. Ian is far from the first rapper of his kind, but he’s the newest. He has also received co-signs from artists like Lil Yachty, which have boosted his career in its early days.

Elsewhere in the interview, Tyler, The Creator touched on other things that bothered him about hip-hop. Namely, the rush for fans to get on social media and call an album “mid” after one listen. “When artists put something out, the last thing they talk about is music,” he said. He also took the time to reflect on a past spat with Eminem, feeling that he owes Em an apology. The full interview is available to watch on the SpringHill YouTube channel.

Lupe Fiasco Reimagines Kanye West & Pharrell Supergroup CRS With “SHRINK”

It’s been a busy few months for Lupe Fiasco, and recently, he decided to surprise fans with an unexpected trip down memory lane. He dropped a new track today, looking back on his days with Child Rebel Soldier, his supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell. The track, “SHRINK,” samples Radiohead’s 2000 Kid A song “Optimistic.” Of course, fans are pleasantly surprised, and questioning whether or not this means more is to come.

CRS disbanded back in 2013 after releasing two tracks, leaving hip-hop fans everywhere heartbroken. Last month, Lupe announced plans to reimagine the group as a Radiohead sample-driven solo venture. “I’m gonna reboot CRS in the next six months, maybe next year,” he told Stereogum. “Tyler, [The Creator] has one of the CRS records. But it’s gonna go back to the original energy, which was me rapping over Radiohead beats.”

Lupe Fiasco Drops A New Track Before Tour

This wasn’t exactly what fans had in mind when they demanded the return of CRS, but they’re glad to see it making a comeback nonetheless. This is far from the only exciting thing Lupe Fiasco has in the works, however. Late last month, he also announced that he’ll be making his way across the U.S. on tour later this year. The 19-city run will begin with a performance in NYC in October, and close with a show in LA in November. The tour is in support of his ninth studio album Samurai, which he dropped in June of this year.

To share the exciting news, Lupe even unveiled a new song called “Tickets,” which details just how much fun fans can expect to have throughout the tour. What do you think of Lupe Fiasco dropping a new track under the name of his supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell, Child Rebel Soldier? How is it sounding so far? USHER Postpones Opening Night Of “Past Present Future Tour” With Heartfelt Message

USHER, even 30 years and change into his career, is still a performer that’s in high demand. The Super Bowl, his residence in Las Vegas, ESSENCE, and Paris around this time last year are just few stages he’s rocked over the last 12 months. Additionally, USHER is someone who wants to give his very best for any venue he plays at. So, it’s why he’s deciding to postpone the opening night of his Past Present Future tour. Unfortunately, the notice is very last minute, as the things were supposed to get underway tonight in one of the many places he calls home, Atlanta.

The enormous trek across the United States is for his most recent record, COMING HOME. If you remember, it was released hours after his halftime performance. Initially, the set of dates was going to start on the 20th in Washington, D.C. But he added a handful of extra stops just a few days after revealing the tour, according to Rated R&B. Unfortunately, it’s unclear when he will hit the road. But for now, USHER had a heartfelt message to share about the reason for this decision.

“For my 30-plus year career, 100% of my blood, sweat and tears has gone into putting on the best performance and creating a memorable experience for my fans. I have every intention of doing that for this tour as well. Which is why I have to postpone tonight’s show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal,” USHER began. “You’re still going to get a bit of the past, some of the present and a unique look into the future on the rescheduled date but you’ll also be getting 100% of me. The last thing I want to ever do is disappoint you, the fans who have been eagerly waiting for this tour to start. However, I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best”.

Before signing off, he wrote, “My team will be sharing news of the rescheduled date soon. I can’t wait to celebrate this legacy with you”. What are your thoughts on USHER deciding to postpone the opening night of his Past Present Future tour? How do you feel about a lot of fans reacting so negatively to the news? WHO Declares Mpox A Global Health Emergency Amid African Outbreaks

Earlier this week, the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared mpox outbreaks in the region a public health emergency. Cases of the virus, also known as monkeypox, have been confirmed in children and adults in over a dozen countries. Vaccine doses are not widely available in Africa, and according to Associated Press News, a new form of the virus is spreading. At a briefing today, The World Health Organization declared it a global emergency, expressing concern that the virus could continue spreading outside the continent.

This is something that should concern us all … The potential for further spread beyond Africa and beyond is very worrying,” WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus explained. Reportedly, mpox cases have been detected in 13 countries so far this year. 96% of all cases and deaths reported have been in Congo. Officials at the Africa CDC say that 70% of cases in Congo are in children below the age of 15. This group also accounts for 85% of deaths. There have been over 14,000 cases in Congo, claiming the lives of 524 people.

New Version Of Mpox Spreads Through Africa

South African infectious diseases expert Salim Abdool Karim similarly expressed concern that the virus could continue spreading, noting that the new version of mpox has a death rate of roughly 3-4%. “We are now in a situation where (mpox) poses a risk to many more neighbors in and around central Africa,” he said. The new version of mpox, known as clade Ib, appears to spread primarily through sexual contact. This also seems to be behind these latest outbreaks in Congo.

“The detection and rapid spread of a new clade of mpox in eastern DRC, its detection in neighboring countries that had not previously reported mpox, and the potential for further spread within Africa and beyond is very worrying,” Tedros said at the briefing today. Viral Breakdancer RayGun Faces “Unethical Conduct” Accusations In Massive Petition

Rachel Gunn, the breakdancer for Australia who goes by the name, RayGun, is facing accusations of “unethical conduct” after her viral performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Thousands of upset fans have signed a Change.org petition that claims she manipulated the selection process to her “own advantage” by setting up her “own governing body for breakdancing.” The statement is addressed to the Prime Minister of Australia and the Australian Olympic Committee.

“We, the undersigned, call for immediate accountability and transparency in the recent actions of Rachel Gunn and Anna Mears in the selection process for Australia’s female breakdancer representative at the upcoming Olympics,” the petition says. “Rachel Gunn, who set up her own governing body for breakdancing, has manipulated the selection process to her own advantage. Despite the clear talent and qualification of other outstanding female breakdancers like G Clef and Holy Molly, they were unfairly overlooked. The NT Youlong Boys, a group of incredibly talented and underprivileged youth from the Northern Territory, were denied crucial funding by Dr. Gunn to attend the qualifiers—a decision that directly impacted their chance to showcase their skills on a national stage.”

It doesn’t appear that Gunn has addressed the petition; however, she has spoken on the backlash she’s received over the quality of her performance. “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best—their power moves. What I bring is creativity,” she said during a press conference. “All of my moves are original. Creativity is really important to me. I go out there, and I show my artistry. Sometimes it speaks to the judges, and sometimes it doesn’t. I do my thing, and it represents art. That is what it is about.”

50 Cent Reacts To Approaching Billionaire Status

50 Cent has built an impressive empire for himself and his family, and evidently, it’s paid off monetarily too. Aside from a successful music career, he’s taken over the realm of entertainment with several hit series and launched the second-largest Black-owned production studio in Shreveport earlier this year. Now, he’s reportedly approaching billionaire status, though he tells US Weekly that the feat isn’t all that exciting to him.

“I’m not in a hurry to reach billionaire status,” he explained. “I’ve reached a point where I don’t want anything I don’t have. What’s the rush? I’ve bought every car I wanted, multiple times over.” Moreover, Fif noted that being extremely wealthy can put you at risk, as everyone’s looking to get a piece of the pie.

50 Cent Still Wants A Discount

“When people publicly say you’re a billionaire, they come for what you have,” he described. “The IRS might suddenly decide they want 58 percent of your money. The ambulance chasers, the attorneys — it’s an army of ’em after you.” Regardless, 50 Cent decided to celebrate his accomplishments on Instagram today. He shared an article about how he’s almost a billionaire, adding that this doesn’t mean he’s trying to pay full price for things if he doesn’t have to.

“I don’t want this to make you think I don’t need a discount, because I want a discount. LOL,” he said. While it’s unclear exactly when 50 Cent will officially become a billionaire, it was recently reported that Young Buck is preparing to pay off his $250K debt. A $1 billion lawsuit against him from a former drug kingpin was also recently dismissed, as well as another $40 million wiretapping lawsuit. What do you think of 50 Cent approaching billionaire status? Are you surprised or not? What about his reaction to the exciting news?
