Gucci Mane Announces New Gangsta Grillz Mixtape With DJ Drama And It’s Coming Very Soon

Gucci Mane has grown to become quite the icon in trap music and part of that is due to his extensive mixtape catalog. Overall, he has countless miniseries such as Wilt Chamberlain, East Atlanta Santa, So Icy, and many more. However, if there’s one thing to know about Guwop, it’s that he will always be ready to drop something new. That will be the case this coming weekend when Gucci Mane and DJ Drama put out Greatest Of All Trappers. As it is most of the time with the latter, this will be a Gangsta Grillz tape and fans can expect it Friday, August 16.

These two have plenty of tracks and projects together, so the chemistry should be extremely effortless. Gucci Mane made the announcement on his Instagram about 24 hours ago with tons of excitement. “Greatest Of All Trappers the GangsterGrillz mixtape dropping Friday hosted by @djdrama all real Gucci fans drop a 🐐 if y’all ready!! Hardest project of the year!!! #GreatestOfAllTrappers 💰💰”. A lot of trap superstars were in the comments section getting hyped about the release.

Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Quavo, Quality Control’s CEO, and more were all giving this announcement a stamp of approval. The tracklist sits at 12 songs and includes the singles “Chanel Bag” with JT, and his Diddy diss track, “TakeDat”. Interestingly, this looks to be a two-part release. On Apple Music it shows a separate cover and a much later release date. A 24-track version is apparently coming on October 17, and it looks to include this first set dropping on Friday. Greatest Of All Trappers will follow up on Gucci’s collab effort with B.G. and his 16th studio album, Breath of Fresh Air, both of which were released last year.

Polo G Declares The Best Song From The Kendrick Lamar And Drake Battle

In a new interview with DJ Akademiks, Polo G was asked for his thoughts on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle. The battle, which ended between the rappers in May, still rages on today through their respective fanbases. The climactic track, “Not Like Us,” turned into a victory lap for Lamar, who created one of the most popular songs of 2024.

Polo G did not want to pick sides or a winner. Akademiks changed his line of questioning, instead asking for his favorite song from the battle. Polo settled on “Not Like Us,” becoming the latest rapper to praise the track in the last few months. Akademiks, who has often been critical of Kendrick Lamar, could not deny the track’s success. He called it a “bop,” which is more praise than he usually reserves for Lamar’s music.

Polo G Praises “Not Like Us”

“Not Like Us” has been a massive success for Kendrick Lamar. It was his first #1 single since “HUMBLE.” from his 2017 album, DAMN. The track recently passed 650 million Spotify streams, becoming the most-streamed diss track on the platform. Earlier this month, it received the first of what will probably be many award nominations, getting a nod at the VMAs for Song of the Year. It’s become such a big track that Michael Rubin had to ban it from his Fourth of July party because Drake attended the festivities.

Polo G recently released Hood Poet, his fourth studio album, on August 9. The album features collaborations with Future, GloRilla, Offset, and others. It’s received tepid critic reviews, though fans of his are enjoying the new music. Over the last few weeks, he’s done some press for it. He was on The Breakfast Club earlier this month, and now he’s on Akademiks’ show for the same purpose. Akademiks will not be the only person to ask Polo about his thoughts on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle, as it’s the hottest story in hip-hop this year. But, he can say he was the first to get the Chicago rapper’s perspective.

YG Denies Implying Saweetie Cheated On Him After Heated Argument

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that an altercation between YG and Saweetie at their LA home got out of hand, prompting police to step in. Reportedly, someone nearby called authorities over shouting that could be heard from the household. Luckily, the quarrel never turned physical, and officers quickly broke them up. Regardless, the incident left fans with several questions.

Of course, many were eager to know what exactly got the two of them so upset. At the time, it was said that the argument had something to do with their cell phones. Yesterday, however, a post on YG’s Instagram Story got fans thinking. The post in question featured just two simple emojis, a lion and a cheetah. This prompted speculation that the rapper was trying to say Saweetie lied and cheated on him.

YG Claims He Was At The Zoo

According to YG, however, this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, he took to X recently to claim that he was simply at the zoo, which would explain all the animal emojis. “I was at the zoo wit my kids. stop the kap,” he wrote earlier today. Unsurprisingly, fans aren’t convinced, and the rumors continue. For now, it remains to be seen whether or not YG or Saweetie will address the debacle head-on, as it doesn’t look like they’re ready to do so yet.

After all, YG is currently preparing to unleash his new mixtape Just Re’d Up 3, which drops later this week. This is one of many discussions that him and Maverick Carter have in their brand-new interview. The show is called Mavericks with Mav Carter and he interviews tons of influential figures across all sorts of industries. Their sit-down was teased online yesterday with a sub one-minute clip of him going off the new generation of rappers and how they don’t value being a true musician.

As we mentioned, the segment we are focusing on here is about internet culture and how fans want to be as connected as possible to the celebrity. As you could probably guess, Tyler, The Creator is not a huge fan of this societal shift. “Because you like a song, or because you like a movie, that gives you permission to be a f***in’ weirdo?”. That is just one of many hilarious but real quotes from the IGOR MC. This topic came to light through Carter asking him about a time when he said making music is tiring. In a new interview with Maverick Carter for his series Mavericks, Tyler, The Creator sat down to talk about the state of hip-hop. He denounced “meme” rappers and those that the hip-hop world unjustly continues to make popular. “I don’t wanna seem like a hater. Sometimes I have hater energy ’cause I just think I’m that good,” he said. “I love this art form so much bro and there’s so many n****s out right now that aren’t musicians that are getting treated like musicians ’cause they make meme records. Publicly, they’ll be like, ‘I don’t give a f**k about music. I just do this s**t for money.’ It’s the Spider-Man meme of the next n***a when every publication is like, ‘Hell yeah, let’s put that out.’ You’re taking up space from n****s like me.”

One rapper Tyler, The Creator took aim at was St. Louis-based artist Ian. Ian frequently receives criticism by hip-hop fans because they consider him a Gucci Mane clone, or as someone pretending to be a rapper. Tyler seems to be one of those critics, though not by name. “This white kid, regular Caucasian man, and he’s like mocking Future and Gucci Mane like… rap music,” Tyler said. This is like… weird. Something about it don’t even sit well with me, in comparison to someone like Mac Miller or Eminem […] they had a genuine love for it, and they were still big.”

Tyler, The Creator Criticizes Ian For Mocking Black Artists

Tyler’s criticism of Ian and the greater hip-hop landscape are not new ones. Fans, critics, and rappers alike have lamented the lack of creativity in the mainstream hip-hop space. Ian is far from the first rapper of his kind, but he’s the newest. He has also received co-signs from artists like Lil Yachty, which have boosted his career in its early days.

Lupe Fiasco Reimagines Kanye West & Pharrell Supergroup CRS With “SHRINK”

It’s been a busy few months for Lupe Fiasco, and recently, he decided to surprise fans with an unexpected trip down memory lane. He dropped a new track today, looking back on his days with Child Rebel Soldier, his supergroup with Kanye West and Pharrell. The track, “SHRINK,” samples Radiohead’s 2000 Kid A song “Optimistic.” Of course, fans are pleasantly surprised, and questioning whether or not this means more is to come.

CRS disbanded back in 2013 after releasing two tracks, leaving hip-hop fans everywhere heartbroken. Last month, Lupe announced plans to reimagine the group as a Radiohead sample-driven solo venture. “I’m gonna reboot CRS in the next six months, maybe next year,” he told Stereogum. “Tyler, [The Creator] has one of the CRS records. But it’s gonna go back to the original energy, which was me rapping over Radiohead beats.”

Lupe Fiasco Drops A New Track Before Tour

This wasn’t exactly what fans had in mind when they demanded the return of CRS, but they’re glad to see it making a comeback nonetheless. USHER Postpones Opening Night Of “Past Present Future Tour” With Heartfelt Message

USHER, even 30 years and change into his career, is still a performer that’s in high demand. The Super Bowl, his residence in Las Vegas, ESSENCE, and Paris around this time last year are just few stages he’s rocked over the last 12 months. Additionally, USHER is someone who wants to give his very best for any venue he plays at. So, it’s why he’s deciding to postpone the opening night of his Past Present Future tour. Unfortunately, the notice is very last minute, as the things were supposed to get underway tonight in one of the many places he calls home, Atlanta.

The enormous trek across the United States is for his most recent record, COMING HOME. If you remember, it was released hours after his halftime performance. Initially, the set of dates was going to start on the 20th in Washington, D.C. But he added a handful of extra stops just a few days after revealing the tour, according to Rated R&B. Unfortunately, it’s unclear when he will hit the road. But for now, USHER had a heartfelt message to share about the reason for this decision.
