Lizzo Fans Defend Her From Trolls Amid Viral Before-And-After Fitness Comparison

Lizzo has been through a social media firestorm over the past couple of years, both for warranted and unwarranted reasons. On that latter point, at least she’s been able to uphold her body positivity standards and continue to share her love for fans through her shapewear brand YITTY and other public statements and initiatives. However, following the singer’s viral fitness transformation video in which she showed off her workout routine, many haters think that she betrayed her own “unhealthy standards” supposedly promoting being “out of shape” or is only getting fit because of cyberbullying. Her fans quickly clapped back at these misconceptions.

But Lizzo isn’t just receiving a lot of defense on her behalf: she’s also defending other criticized public figures. “For everyone saying that Kamala Harris didn’t do anything when she was VP, please, for $5,000. Do not use Google,” she remarked on social media. “Tell me what any vice president has ever done during their term that was notable that you noticed. It’s funny because when Joe Biden was VP, the only things I really remember him doing was making cool videos with Barack.”

Recently VladTV shared a clip of DJ Vlad’s interview with Aries Spears, in which they discussed Marlon Wayans’ interview fee. The actor reportedly asked for $40K, as well as 30 percent of all future revenue. Vlad thought this number was steep, but Wayans was standing by it. This has prompted a heated back and forth between them on Twitter, which only got uglier today.

“Marlon Wayans found someone with 200 followers to agree with him. LOL,” Vlad tweeted to start. “Nobody on earth is going to pay Marlon $40K for an interview when he gets 100k-300k views on any platform he interviews on. This guy is really delusional.”

“You mad? You unprofessional my guy,” Wayans responded. “If you don’t like the number keep it moving. You look BAD. You should fall back. mad at a Black man stating his number? I never in my life dealt with this silly negotiating tactic.” The back and forth continued, and Wayans commented on Vlad’s appearance, prompting an interesting response. “Marlon Wayans, I’m sorry that you don’t find me attractive. Fortunately for both of us, I’m heterosexual,” he wrote, also urging him to “come out of the closet” and participate in gay porn.

Wayans replied, telling Vlad to leave him alone and sharing a link to a YouTube video called “Why Black Celebrities Will Never RESPECT Vlad TV.” He also Tweeted that Vlad is “waaaaaay too HATED by the URBAN COMMUNITY to F* with” him, and claimed that he’s “loved” while Vlad isn’t. “The night get it sexyy was made I was goin thru a lot just had my baby felt depressed and was goin thru postpartum,” she explained in her caption. “My team in Miami would leave me in the studio to write songs & I would just b in there crying thinkin about life.”

She relayed that she usually doesn’t share her personal matters online, but was so outraged by her overall community situation that she had to speak out. “I’ve been violated bad,” the rapper’s story began. “Since I’ve been in Detroit, I guess people was looking at my Story and they see that I’m not home. And they found that this was the best opportunity to run inside of my house and get all of my Birkin bags in Atlanta.

“However, it’s cool, they got caught,” Kash Doll continued. “They got into a shootout with my child’s father, and the police got all of them. We ain’t took no L. It’s a celebration, but it’s also sad that it’s Black people that’s just running inside of people’s homes trying to take their things. What if my kids was there, what if my sister was there, what if my mom was there? What if he was there asleep and y’all caught him sleeping? They came in with guns! I’m putting y’all in my business today because I’m so upset [with] the community leader over in Brookhaven in the block that I stay in.

Nevertheless, The Joe Budden Podcast‘s thoughts on Tyler’s remarks are the same either way, and they discussed the implications of this conversation.

His comments even sparked a reaction from Brown, who took to his Instagram Story yesterday to share a clip from an old interview. In it, he shares his thoughts on being compared to MJ, stating that there’s simply no competition. He added that he’s a huge fan of the late hitmaker, and doesn’t at all believe he’s better than him.

We know that he seemed to continue to support the convicted former president this year, so maybe they’re still buddy-buddy.

Sadly for him and Ty Dolla $ign, these tweaks and fixes haven’t really turned people around when it comes to their assessment of the project’s quality. Many fans think that this is one of the more disappointing releases in the Ye catalog, and certainly one of the most unkempt. We’ll see if the third installment ever comes, but after these divisive drops, we know that many fans would rather just have him and Ty leave that in the vault.

Meanwhile, some other musical tweaks on Taylor Swift’s behalf suggest that she sent some shade Kanye West’s way on her new updated album. Particularly, it’s seemingly a reference to Kim Kardashian. But that’s mostly speculative despite their long history of beef, a history that makes it pretty hard to see this song title change as anything but a subliminal. Regardless, this Trump-related interaction shows that Ye still has some pull within that crowd for better or worse, and hopefully this doesn’t energize him to fire back in the same way he has for the past two years or so.
