Dwight Howard’s Sexual Assault & Battery Case Gets Dismissed

In July of 2023, Stephen Harper filed a lawsuit against Dwight Howard, accusing the former NBA star of sexual assault and battery. Reportedly, the suit stemmed from an encounter they had at Howard’s Georgia home in 2021. Harper accused Howard of sexually assaulting him, which Howard denied. Instead, he insisted that they took part in “consensual sexual activity.” He proceeded to ask the judge to dismiss the case, a request they quickly shot down in February.

Now, however, ESPN reports that Harper has dismissed every claim he made against Howard, meaning he cannot sue him again for those claims. Howard’s attorney Justin Bailey also told the outlet that Harper was not paid to drop the lawsuit. At the time of writing, it remains unclear what prompted this decision.

Stephen Harper Dismisses All Claims Against Dwight Howard

In Harper’s original filing, he alleged that he and Howard exchanged various DMs that were sexual in nature. Eventually, after months of chatting, Howard allegedly invited Harper to his house for sex. When he arrived, Harper alleged that he was made to participate in a threesome with a cross-dresser named Kitty. Howard’s legal battle with Harper is not the only one he’s seen the end of as of late, however. In March of this year, Howard also dropped his lawsuit against Masin Elije.

Back in 2018, Elije allegedly spread rumors that Howard is bisexual. He denied this at the time and went on to sue her for defamation. Reportedly, he decided to drop the suit because he did not believe he’d be able to gather enough evidence to win the case. DL Hughley Explains Why He Will Never Be On Shannon Sharpe’s “Predatory” Podcast

D.L. Hughley was one of many comedians that had something big to say about the 2024 interview that keeps on giving. Moreover, during a recent sit-down interview with DJ Vlad on VladTV, he expressed why he thinks that Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast became “predatory” with the Katt Williams interview and why he’d never go on it. Principally, the comedian came to this conclusion because it didn’t fairly characterize the relationships that most comedians have with each other.

“I think that, like any other endeavor, there are jealousies, idiosyncrasies,” D.L. Hughley’s comments on Shannon Sharpe began. “But I don’t think that’s indicative of the experiences that most of us have. After the Katt Williams interview, which was a phenomenon, he kept trying to replicate it. ‘Let me bring on somebody else to have a beef.’ Like, I can understand it was a phenomenon. But then, all of a sudden, you try to replicate it.

D.L. Hughley Speaks On Shannon Sharpe & Club Shay Shay

“To me, just like you love what you do, he love what he does,” D.L Hughley continued concerning Shannon Sharpe. “For me, as a matter of principle, it is too messy. Now, I think it’s morphed into something else because I think that brook has run dry. But for me, it’s just all of those people I saw on there were people who wanted to go on there because of what happened on Undisputed. The way Skip did him made me and a lot of other Black people go ‘F**k this, we’re going to make sure this brother’s okay.’

“But then you take that and the very people that got there first, I think, were damaged by the first iteration of what went on,” D.L. Hughley concluded. “For me, I would never do it. I was going to do it a long time ago. Honestly, before that happened, I had been slated to do it a couple of different times. I just didn’t. I’m glad he’s making his money, I’m glad he’s doing what he’s doing. I’m not jealous or hateful. It’s just a personal thing I wouldn’t do. And people can say, ‘Why you do Vlad and not him?’ I f**k with you. [He] don’t need me anyway. And he was my favorite football player ever. He’s my favorite tight-end ever, ever.”

Macklemore Fan Arrested Onstage After Duet

Macklemore isn’t one to engage in onstage antics, but a twist of fate lent some very odd context to a recent performance of his. Moreover, he (along with many other artists) took the stage at the Lovestream Festival in Slovakia, and at one point, he invited a Slovenian fan onstage to perform a duet with him. After the woman boasted about it on social media, someone recognized her from an open police report (as a wanted woman) and informed authorities at the “Hind’s Hall” MC’s performance. Cops let her wrap her performance up and then arrested her for avoiding a fine from an alleged streaking incident.

Elsewhere, Macklemore instead usually draws up controversy for his music, whether for the right and wrong reasons. Most recently, his release of a pro-Palestine track stirred up a storm on social media, including a response diss from Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Remedy. Overall, this is a very complex situation and one that political and social polarization can obfuscate when it comes to the actual humanitarian issues at hand. Nevertheless, the “Thrift Shop” rapper’s powerful single speaks volumes to the need to engage in these difficult conversations and definitely achieved at least part of its intended effect.

“I didn’t expect to be on a microphone,” Macklemore expressed during a pro-Palestine rally in Washington, DC. “There are thousands of people here more qualified to speak on the issue of a free Palestine than myself. But I will say this: They told me to be quiet. They told me to do my research, to go back, that it’s too complex to say something, right? To be silent in this moment. In the last three weeks, I’ve gone back and I’ve done some research … I’m teachable. I don’t know enough. But I know enough that this is a genocide.”

“I have so many close lifelong Jewish and Muslim friends and I don’t want to cause any additional harm to any of them,” Macklemore shared on Instagram. “But I trust in our friendships that even if we disagree we can be rooted in love and acceptance in whatever dialogue transpires. I trust that these potential challenging and emotional conversations will not divide us in the end but lead to more compassion. Killing the innocent is never the answer. Earlier this week, Wack 100 hopped online to share some kind words about none other than late West Coast icon, Nipsey Hussle. “@nipseyhussle I’ve checked the #’s he’s up dam near 5000% overall when it comes to music & merch … And TV series or Movie has yet to drop which will drive that # up even more .. I now call him a musical #LEGEND ….. #West,” he wrote on Instagram. “The Truth Can Never Be Considered Disrespect … I call a [spade] a [spade]…. @nipseyhussle musical #LEGEND,” he added in a subsequent post. Wack’s comments were a response to reports that Victory Lap, Nipsey’s last album, has officially surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.

While Nipsey’s fanbase certainly agrees with Wack, some have taken the opportunity to call the music manager out. He hasn’t always had nice things to say about the rapper, and evidently, they haven’t forgotten. In 2022, for example, Wack alleged that he had a sex tape featuring Nipsey and another man. He also previously shot down claims that he’s a “legend.”

For those who don’t recall, this was the same year that Ye vowed to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE” in a wild and offensive Tweet. He’s since claimed that he can’t be antisemitic because he’s Black. Either way, this bizarre behavior cost him a sizable chunk of his fanbase.

According to white supremacist Nick Fuentes, Ye once pondered the idea of doubling down by changing his name to a swastika. In a clip, he elaborates on the performer’s plan, claiming that he was set on it being the actual symbol instead of the word. This way, the media would have to use a swastika anytime they talked about him, at least in theory. Fortunately, it appears as though Ye was only making a joke, albeit a questionable one.
