New York City Mayor Eric Adams Indicted On Federal Criminal Charge

Eric Adams is in hot water. The New York City Mayor has been indicted on at least one federal criminal charge. The New York Times broke the news on September 25, following an investigation that went on for months. Adams had previously been a subject of speculation regarding fundraising violations. The outlet confirmed the indictment, but did not specify what the charges were. They are currently sealed. Adams is the first Mayor in New York City history to be indicted while in office.

The investigation against Eric Adams was launched in November 2023. The New York City Mayor had several laptops and cell phones seized by the FBI. Several outlets, including The New York Times, said that Adams was suspected of being influenced by the Turkish government to place its consulate in a Manhattan building. The “foreign influence” was a big point of concern, as was the alleged desire for consulate approval despite possible safety issues. It has yet to be announced who will represent the Mayor during his federal case. Adams issued a video statement refuting the government’s claims as “false.”

Eric Adams has maintained his innocence throughout the FBI’s investigation. He previously told the Associated Press that he was being persecuted for “standing his ground” in a historically corrupt city. “I always knew that if I stood my ground for New Yorkers that I would be a target,” he claimed. “A target I became. If I am charged, I am innocent, and I will fight this with every ounce of my strength and spirit.” Despite Adams’ assertion of innocence, other politicians have called for his resignation as NYC Mayor.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demanded that Eric Adams step down mere hours before he was formally indicted. The controversial politician took to X (formerly Twitter) to make her concerns seen and heard. “The flood of resignations and vacancies are threatening government function,” she asserted. “Nonstop investigations will make it impossible to recruit and retain a qualified administration.” Adams’ indictment has only strengthened AOC’s stance. There will be much, much more to this story as the details of the indictment get released to the public.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce went out together in New York City on Sunday night after attending the U.S. Open Tennis Championships earlier in the day. In photos published by TMZ, the two rolled up to a restaurant hand-in-hand for the date night. Kelce rocked a collared shirt and pants with a hat while Swift wore an evening dress.

Kelce and Swift began dating in 2023 and made numerous headlines throughout the year as the singer was in attendance at several of his games. That trend appears to be continuing in 2024, as she was present at the Kansas City Chief’s season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, last Thursday. Kelce’s team went on to win the game 27-20 with the help of his three catches and 34 yards.

Kelce and Swift’s day together comes after they recently fought up breakup rumors stemming from an alleged public relations document discussing how to handle their split. Kelce’s P.R. company, Full Scope PR, labeled it “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency,” in a statement afterward. They added: “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.” The document claimed that the two are planning to announce the split on September 28, 2024. “Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time,” it read.

The lifetime award was not only given to Crack for his skills on the mic, but also his commitment to philanthropy and giving back to his community.

Joe’s advocacy is well known for promoting healthcare, Joe has shown his concern for average Americans being taken advantage of by large medical companies. Joe even attended a rally in the Nation’s capitol to push the bill that will eliminate hidden fees in healthcare and ha seven met with President Biden a few times to discuss the issue.

Back in May, Joe received an honorary doctorate degree from Lehman College in the Bronx, where he credited his Bronx upbringing for making him the man he is today.

Mayor Adams recently rescinded the same honor to Diddy, who was requested to return the Key to the City following the Cassie assault video.

Jay-Z & Beyonce Go For A Night Out In New York City After 40/40 Club Recreation

Jay-Z and Beyonce chose to hit up the New York City nightlife scene after Fanatics Fest on Friday (August 16). Moreover, this is a pretty fitting outing for them, considering that the former announced the relaunch of his iconic 40/40 Club sometime in 2025, if all goes according to plan. Hov also recreated the sports bar at Fanatics Fest over the weekend. As such, it’s no wonder the power couple wants to see what else is up in the Big Apple for a night out. Apparently, Travis Scott was also at ZZ’s Club along with Bey and Jay, and left the Hudson Yards members club a little before they did.

As far as their style, Jay-Z and Beyoncé donned a black 40/40 Club sweatshirt and a rose fringe overcoat respectively. You can see pictures of their outing by clicking the “Via” link below. Elsewhere, though, other recent conversations around their relationship are a bit more salacious. For example, Kanye West expressed in a recently resurfaced Candace Owens interview from some years ago that the Houston superstar should let the East Coast lyricist cheat.

Beyond that ridiculousness, though, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are ignoring it all and just focusing on their billions and on having some good times. They recently shared some lavish and seemingly solo vacation pics from earlier in the year, as if their public outings’ luxury wasn’t enough for fans. Jokes aside, it’s always heartening to see some famous celebrity couples enjoy some time to themselves, as exclusive or expensive as that time may be. After all, we can get too caught up in their exploits and escapades in the public eye and not in what they share with the rest of us.

Meanwhile, both Jay-Z and Beyoncé have a long musical legacy to contend with, one that’s now further cemented in legend status. Now, we’re seeing how old Hov albums like Reasonable Doubt maintained their steep value, as Dame Dash’s shares in it will fall back in his former Roc-A-Fella co-boss’ hands in a few years. That became a very contentious situation overall, one that Dame has no plans of making any easier for Jay. We’ll see what happens, and what this star couple learned from studying NYC’s nightlife.

Jay-Z Will Reopen His Legendary 40/40 Club In New York City With A Twist

Jay-Z temporarily recreated his iconic 40/40 Club for Michael Rubin’s Fanatics Fest NYC this weekend (August 16-18) at the Jacob Javits Center, but it looks like that’s not all he will do to revitalize the sports club chain. Moreover, an Us Weekly report claims that he will reopen the legendary venue in the Big Apple very soon. For those unaware, the original 40/40 Club in Manhattan closed in August of last year after a 20-year run. Hov once had five locations nationwide, but after their closure, the only active 40/40 brand locations at press time are an Atlanta airport bar and a Barclays Center restaurant in Brooklyn.

“It’s always been the plan to open a new spot,” 40/40 Club’s vice president of operations, Sheldon Robinson, told the publication. “Finding the right location that makes sense to the brand is key, and that takes some time. We’ve narrowed it down to our last few choices and now we’re in the negotiation phase. Hopefully by the end of this year we’ll have a lease signed and we can break ground. The idea is that we’ll have a club in 2025.” Robinson also pointed to Jay-Z’s strong involvement in this process, adding that Hov “definitely wants to keep it as part of his legacy.”

In other Jay-Z news, Oscar De La Hoya recently re-told the story of when the New York lyricist lost a six-figure bet to him. “So we’re promoting Canelo at the time, Golden Boy, and [Jay-Z’s] promoting Cotto,” the boxing legend told Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay. “So I said, ‘You know what? Why don’t place a bet here of $250,000? But it goes to charity.’ So Canelo wins, my charity wins the two-fifths, and sure enough he paid it on the spot. I think the next day, the check was in the bank. Jay-Z loves boxing, he knows his boxing. But he’s a guy who pays his bets.”

Meanwhile, another big storyline in Jay-Z’s world these days concerns what will happen to Dame Dash’s Reasonable Doubt shares. Dame is pretty peeved about Jay eventually getting those shares back in a couple of years. Things could change, but when it comes to cash, Hov is about his business. Of course the Bronx and New York City at large were going to show some hometown love when Ice Spice stopped by for her Y2K! tour stop in the Big Apple. Moreover, you can hear in the clips below how fans are screaming along to the lyrics, and it seems like everyone had a great time overall. She also brought along some very special guests for the occasion, including Sheff G, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Cash Cobain, and more. In fact, a surprise appearance from PARTYNEXTDOOR even got fans wondering whether we will see a collab from the two in the near future.

Either way, it’s great to see Ice Spice in this mode, whether for working her hardest for her performances or engaging with fans. Given how the Internet goes a lot of the time, and especially with Y2K!‘s poor critical reception, she’s had to stay focused on the positive aspects of her career while acknowledging that online hate rarely translates into in-person treatment. For example, the Bronx femcee recently thanked fans for their support of her new album despite 28K in first-week sales being a pretty low number for many. Still, it’s a step up from her Like..? EP, and she’s very grateful for that climb.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday afternoon, she explained the context behind the video and fired back at users criticizing her online. “Why you touching their sh*t,” she says repeatedly in the clip. “Why you talking to them like that? They not even bothering you.”

Responding to one post featuring the video, Cardi wrote: “Why y’all trying to make me sound bad?? This was July 28th and I was defending them but ok.” In another, she added: “Btches trying to be funny and make this something it’s not but I don’t care. I don’t like when people think they can bully people for no reason.. like how you gonna do all that yelling, hit their car, AND call the cops all because they taking pictures in front of a building?!”

Cardi B Gets Into Heated Argument With A Pedestrian In Newly Surfaced Footage

Cardi B has had quite the hectic past couple of weeks, what with her pregnancy announcement and her divorce from Offset. But it seems like it’s been a pretty tense time for her for other reasons too, as a new clip has surfaced (allegedly from last week) that shows her arguing with a pedestrian in New York City. At what looks like a hotel, the clip below shows a woman screaming at the Bronx femcee, seemignly calling her a “Black-a** b***h,” and Cardi responded in kind from out of her car window by screaming: “I’ll f**k you up for real.” Still, the clip doesn’t really clarify what they were arguing over, so it’s still a bizarre and mysterious thing to witness.

Elsewhere, though, Cardi B also clapped back at fans thinking that she’s in a financial rut right now. “First of all, The Sun is posting rumors that y’all are making up and sending blind items about… that’s why it’s NO DOCUMENTS, just word of mouth,” she tweeted. “Everybody gets a loan to buy a house and I never been behind on any of them.. i bought my house in 2021 and put almost 12 million in it now look how much I got left. I’m very responsible with money, my bills come before luxury and I just spent 400 thousand on jewelry this month because I also still know how to BUDGET… stop playin wit me.”

It was a pretty cool moment to witness, especially as the fan seemed so starstruck that he could barely say anything upon the interaction. While the rest of the fanbase is debating about pregnancy rumors, this lucky guy is happy with his moment with the Bronx femcee and will probably remember it for a good while.

As far as the Bardi Gang is concerned, Cardi B needs a lot of eyes and ears on her right now, as fans eagerly await any sort of news on a new album. But they also recently expressed support for her over a new copyright infringement lawsuit against her from Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, artist names Sten Joddi and Kemika 1956, respectively. The issue concerns the “Enough (Miami)” single and its alleged use of portions of the song “Greasy Frybread.” Even though it sounds like they just used a common synth or something like that, there’s a chance this could go much further in court.

Venting about the situation in a video on social media, he explained that he’s “too old” to still be dealing with the issue that’s plagued the city for decades.

“I just left New York. That sh*t was disgusting,” he said while recording himself on a boat. “Out there for two and a half hours and I booked a flight. I can’t do this sh*t. I love this city. I’m coming back in the summer for about a week or two. I put my time in with them rats and roaches. They still haven’t fixed the rat problem. Still! I can’t do rats no more. I’m too old for rats. What I look like getting out my car with my feet jumping around, doing all this sh*t when I get out the car ’cause a rat is there. I’m sick of that sh*t. I’m not apologizing for it neither. I ain’t even gonna act like I’m sorry for it a little bit.”
