Your Old Droog, Denzel Curry & Method Man Get Combative On “DBZ”

Your Old Droog has dropped a new track. The New York rapper linked up with core members of Wu-Tang Clan and Raider Klan, and the result is one of the hardest posse cuts of the year. Your Old Droog delivers lyrically, as always, and Method Man proves that he can still skate effortlessly over a track, three decades into his career. Madlib comes through with an instrumental that’s simultaneously soulful and tough, but if we’re being real, Denzel Curry steals the show.

Denzel Curry has never been one to shy away from confrontation. The Florida emcee is known for hard-nosed approach to both flow and rhymes, but he kicks it up a notch here by taking shots at none other than Kendrick Lamar. Curry mocks Lamar for trying to compete with Drake, and proceeds to criticize his perceived spirituality. He also references Lamar’s breakout single, “Swimming Pools (Drank)” (2011). It’s an unexpected development in the ongoing Lamar vs. Drake beef, especially since Curry has little bad to say about the 6 God.

Quotable Lyrics:

When I grab the mic, I crush your stamina, you will be damaged
‘Cause using big words don’t make you lyrical
And going backwards in a swimmin’ pool don’t make you spiritual
So if I bought a brand new whip, they call it (wait a minute)
Damn, whatever the next line is, I’m ballin’
I’m the current boss, currency is what I come across

Key Glock Has Fans Screaming “Let’s Go” After Adding Young Dolph To Remix

“Ain’t gonna lie, Young Dolph was my motivation. That was my mental hype man. Even when myself didn’t see the s***, he seen it and put it in me.” That was Key Glock with Billboard just a few months after the tragic passing of his cousin and mentor, Young Dolph. It has been nearly three years since we lost a pioneer of Southern hip-hop, but his student has been doing more than a fine job propelling the sound forward.

One of the ways he has been able to do that is through his viral banger “Let’s Go.” A part of his Glockoma 2 (Deluxe) tape, it’s catchiness and dark tone made it an almost instant hit. Since its release last June, the song has raked in over 71 million streams on Spotify, has received a kick-a** music video, and a dance rework with Alok. A great track on its own, Glock wanted to bring another version out, with this Young Dolph remix being the most special of them all.

On top of getting a new unreleased verse from the legend, Glock also went ahead and recorded a new verse as well. “My lil’ b**** Tinkerbell ’cause I’m fly as Peter Pan (Let’s go) / Yeah (Yeah), yeah (Yeah), let’s go, get some money, f*** that plan (B****, f*** that plan) / Hopped up out that Cyber truck, my wrist cost a Lamb’ (Yeah).” There is a strong possibility that this version with Dolph overtakes the original in popularity because fans are loving it already. “#LongLiveKingDolph 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Let’s Go Remix” by Key Glock and Young Dolph? Is this the better alternate version of this hit song, why or why not? Who had the stronger verse here? Ken Carson Travels The Globe On Glitchy New Single “Overseas”

Ken Carson is back. The rapper recently announced plans to release an Xbox Series X collaboration, but he’s back on his musical grind with “Overseas.” The single provides fans with an update on Carson’s life, which has largely be spent touring the world. Fans have heard rappers talk about their time away from home before, but Carson’s frantic flow and vivid rhymes gives it a unique twist. There are even bars dedicated to his upcoming European tour.

He name drops a number of different places around the world, including London, Paris, and Amsterdam, which are the first three stops on his 2024 tour. The rapper goes on to drop standard bars about women and flossing on his enemies, but the track really comes into focus when he reflects on his past. Future & J. Cole Give Opposite Perspectives On Relationships On Metro Boomin’s “Red Leather”

Future and Metro Boomin have just fed fans for the next year and then some over the past three weeks. Both artists are showing why they are still some of the best that the genre has to offer. WE DON’T TRUST YOU was an explosive, cavernous and reserved take on trap. Its sequel, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, focuses more on the melodic R&B side of things. If you think about it, these new albums had a similar rollout schedule and style switch like FUTURE and HNDRXX did in 2017. Outside of the sheer number songs in this short period, the collaborations they have brought are contributing to the excitement. One of those is Metro, Future, and J. Cole being on “Red Leather.”

This team-up is enticing for a few reasons. Of course, the idea of Cole, Metro and Future being on a song together was something that no one saw coming. On top that, it adds to all the wild storylines surrounding these two projects. But separating “Red Leather” from the latter, how does this song actually sound? For us this a great track that has a lot of layers when you really dissect it.

Listen To “Red Leather” By Metro Boomin, Future, & J. Cole

It is especially interesting from Cole’s perspective. Sure, he does talk about the apology and “7 Minute Drill” for a brief moment, but the entire verse is sort of a metaphor for almost falling victim to doing things that are deemed as cool, such as dissing Kendrick which he clearly was not comfortable with. However, Cole goes about it from talking about not becoming involved with multiple women like so many rappers do. In fact, Future raps about exactly that, as he is known for dealing with several partners at once. Cole sort of acknowledges how clever this approach is too, “My story’s more clever, my similes was better.” Of course, this is just how we viewed his verse, but it does make sense when you think about it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Red Leather” by Metro Boomin, Future, and J. Cole? Is this the best song from WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Do you enjoy when Future gets into his more melodic and personal bag? Is this Cole’s best performance of 2024, why or why not? How do you feel about Cole readdressing the apology and “7 Minute Drill?” We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Symba Eviscerates J. Cole On “Control Freestyle”

J. Cole is now in everyone’s line of sight, as Symba has sent a brutal diss his way earlier today. For those who are unaware Symba is an extremely talented songwriter and performer from the Bay Area. If there was someone who was going to attack J. Cole, he has the pen game to tangle with the best. With the Dreamville label head apologizing to Kendrick Lamar after “dissing” him on “7 Minute Drill,” a lot of people were turned off by it. Symba can confidently say he is a part of that camp after ripping into Cole on his new diss track “Control Freestyle.”

He decided to release it on YouTube only, which makes sense for a song like this. But with its limited exposure, it is still making waves on the internet. Fans are loving how someone was not afraid to share how frustrated they were with how Cole handled this entire situation. For example, one fan commented under the video, “I SUPPORT THIS MESSAGE: The streets are hungry. This is DAMN sure NEEDED after the apology. Thank you, Symba.”

Listen To The Diss For J. Cole By Symba

XXL was able to breakdown the lyrics and they really convey feelings of utter disappointment from Symba. “I looked the devil dead in his eyes like I ain’t scared to die / For damn sure ain’t scared to go to war with a friend of mine / Pushing through sunset lighting up with the top down / Barbershop convos ’bout who sit at the top now / The Big 3 f***ed up, Cole gave up his spot now / Can’t say you top five if you scared to be hostile.” Symba then goes for the jugular, “I remember feeling your pain when you let Nas down / But you done let Bas down and Cozz down / You done let the squad down / Can’t say you the goat if you ain’t poppin ’em / We ain’t tryna hear all them apologies / Dot told you n****s that he usually homeboys with who he rhymin’ with / But this is hip-hop and you n****s should know what time it is.”

What are your thoughts on this diss from Symba toward J. Cole on his “Control Freestyle?” Was this a warranted attack, why or why not? Do you see Cole doing anything about this, considering how he handled Kendrick Lamar? Is this the coldest diss track of the year so far, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding J. Quavo Doesn’t Waste Any Time Responding To Chris Brown On “Tender”

If you love drama with celebrities than this is the time to be a fan of the rap genre. 2024 has begun a civil war with everyone going at everyone’s necks. Some of them are reignited beefs, but they feel amplified due to the sheer number of them. Of course, the hatred for Drake has dominated the first four months, but we also have Nicki Minaj versus Megan Thee Stallion, as well as GloRilla and JT. We can also add Chris Brown and Quavo to that long list, as their differences were sparked by Breezy yesterday. Quavo was quick with it, responding earlier this morning with “Tender.”

The possible starting point for these two trading shots happened awhile back when the former Migos member began dating Karrueche Tran after she was paired up with Brown. That was the angle that the R&B singer took on “Freak” when he said, “F***ing my old b****es ain’t gon’ make us equal.” However, hedid not stop there, “Sipping that 1942 cause I don’t do no Cuervo (Quavo) / Freak b****, she like Casamigos, not the Migos.”

Listen To “Tender” By Quavo

Quavo is now back just about 24 hours later with a pretty solid and ruthless response. It comes on the chorus when he references the infamous moment with Rihanna that continues to loom over Chris Brown’s career and image. “Call the b**** phone, she won’t come home, don’t beat her up (Don’t beat her up).” In terms of the song itself, we feel it was executed better than “Freak.” Quavo’s flows feel like a throwback to the late 2010’s and the wavy beat is a nice touch. It seems that this song will serve as a diss response and not as a single. Furthermore, with it being released on YouTube exclusively that further fuels our speculation.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Tender” by Quavo? Was this a good response to Chris Brown’s initial diss on the 11:11 deluxe version, why or why not? How do you see this playing out and why? Outside of the content, are you enjoying the song? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. PartyNextDoor Continues To Tease “P4” With Fresh Single “Lose My Mind”

PartyNextDoor is easily one of the biggest and most beloved contemporary R&B singers out there. Overall, he is known for making some incredibly sultry tracks. Moreover, he came up around the same time as The Weeknd, which led to some healthy competition between the two. These days, PND takes a few years between projects. However, they are typically always worth the wait. Later this month, PND is going to be dropping a new album, and fans could not be anymore excited than they already are.

A few weeks ago, we got the single “Real Woman,” which proved to be an incredible start to the rollout. It was another sexy track that had fans talking. Subsequently, he revealed the album art for the project and it was NSFW, to say the least. Ultimately, fans are even more intrigued about this project, and what it might bring. Well, today, PartyNextDoor gave a bit of a hint as he dropped off the new song “Lose My Mind.”

Kodak Black Pours His Heart Out On New Single “Stressed Out”

Kodak Black is an artist who has been through quite a bit since entering the game. Overall, he became a star around the same time he got the XXL Freshman List cover. Subsequently, he continued to crank out hits while also dropping some cool albums. However, a plethora of legal issues have put a damper on his career. Moreover, some of the things he has been accused of have also made some fans fall out of favor with him. Regardless, he continues to march forward and is constantly dropping new tracks.

This is an interesting week for music, for obvious reasons. Some people believe Drake is going to diss Kendrick Lamar this week. Moreover, there is a new Metro Boomin and Future project coming out. With that said, Kodak has jumped the gun and has dropped a new track one day earlier than his contemporaries. The song below is called “Stressed Out,” and it even comes complete with a music video. As you can tell from the track’s overall vibe, Kodak is looking to speak from the heart here. It’s a ballad that serves as a stark contrast to his usual bangers.

The instrumental has the ballad vibe as well, while Kodak speaks on legal issues and the cards he has been dealt. Either way, we’re sure fans are just excited to get some new Kodak music.

Lupe Fiasco Gets Down To Business With New Single “LLC”

Lupe Fiasco knows how to rap. His ability to string words together, and tease out double and triple meanings is mostly unrivaled, even if his instrumental choice has been inconsistent over the years. The commonly held belief is that if Lupe picks a good beat, the song will follow suit. “LLC” is another prime example of this belief. The Chicago emcee gets down to business on a short and sweet track that has enough wordplay to keep the experts at Genius busy for the rest of the week.

There’s a lot going on in terms of rhyme scheme. Lupe doesn’t waste a second of the track’s sub-three minute runtime and dishes out bars about being misinterpreted and being “conscious” and “woke” like a person who suffers from sleep paralysis. That’s the sort of wordplay we’d save for the “Quotable Lyrics” but there’s no shortage to choose from on “LLC.” There’s an impressive run about likening his rhyming to an earthquake, and a line where he makes reference to 1930s dancing star Fred Astaire. It’s safe to say few rappers are out here doing it like Lupe. The production is simple but tasteful.

“LLC” Keeps Lupe’s Winning Streak Going

Lupe has been a minor talking point as of late, as J. Cole’s apology to Kendrick Lamar has drummed up past instances in which rappers have made peace with K. Dot. Lupe famously gave the Compton emcee his flowers after claiming he could out-rhyme him in 2018… or so we thought. Lupe recently hopped on X to clarify that he did not actually apologize to Lamar. “I wasn’t apologizing to him lol,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “I was sorry about the entire shindig because it was such a waste of time and energy in something that had nothing to do with me.” Regardless of the motivation for putting out a new single, “LLC” is a reminder that Lupe is one of the best.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “LLC” by Lupe Fiasco? Does it keep Lupe’s hot streak intact, why or why not? Do you want to hear a new Lupe album in 2024? Does the beat live up to the impressive rhyme scheme? We want to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. TOBi & Mick Jenkins Bring Some Top-Tier Writing To The Table On “Forgot We Were Seeds”

TOBi and Mick Jenkins are easily some of the most underrated MCs in the game as we speak. Both are able to write some top-flight raps, all while bring their distinct personalities to every track they lay down. The Nigerian native and Alabama-bred artists are teaming for just the second time in their careers, but you can tell they have effortless chemistry regardless. Speaking of which, the last time they were on the same song happened in 2021 with “Off The Drugs.” These two are once again rekindling their relationship on lyrically-focused TOBi single called “Forgot We Were Seeds.”

The last time we spoke about TOBi was for his 2023 album PANIC. That ended a three-year drought in between projects. For 2024, he is already off to a fast start, featuring on two singles “For Anybody” and “Back For Me.” So, “Forgot We Were Seeds” is TOBI’s first solo release. Outside of Mick Jenkins bringing tons of firepower to this song, the extremely-talented Dahi, formerly DJ Dahi, is laying down a funky boom bap instrumental.

As we mentioned, this song is filled with slick bars from both TOBi and Mick. The chorus also is excellently written too, “They tried to bury us and forgot we were seedsStay down through the lowest,” TOBi sings. It’s a hot girl summer ’cause we had ’em all winter ah… / They hate the world woke ’cause they love when you sleep n****,” he raps on his verse. These are just a few of the gems sprinkled throughout the track, so be sure to listen for yourself above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Forgot We Were Seeds,” by TOBi and Mick Jenkins? Is this TOBi’s best track as of late, why or why not?
