LUCKI Slides On His New Single “Leave Her”

If you go to any hip-hop festival, you will probably see LUCKI somewhere on the lineup. Overall, the artist is a massive fan favorite. With all of the mainstream artists that appear at these festivals, LUCKI can somehow draw attention away from them. At the end of the day, this is because of just how much he resonates with fans. Additionally, he makes fantastic music that always brings a wide range of sounds. His bars are clever and focused, while his production is always a cut above the rest.

Consequently, fans are always hoping for him to drop some new music. After all, when you have such a loyal and dedicated fanbase, they are going to want that loyalty to be rewarded. Thankfully, LUCKI has been there every step of the way. Today, he dropped off a brand new single called “Leave Her.” This is obviously great news for fans who have been waiting for a single like this. As you will immediately hear, LUCKI has pretty much done it again.

LUCKI Does It Again

Overall, the production on this track is a lot of fun. However, it also has this hypnotic feel that is hard to ignore. LUCKI does a fantastic job of maneuvering throughout this production, as well. His vocals are solid, and his flow is that laid-back yet assertive inflection that he does so well. This is going to be one of those tracks that fans will want to hear live. If anything, that production will have people in a trance.

Subsequently, it seems likely that LUCKI will want to follow-up on this effort fairly soon. Perhaps a new project could even be in the works? No matter what, it is crystal clear that fans are going to tune in. Let us know what you think of this track, in the comments below. Quotable Lyrics:

She want me to leave her
But I do bad all by myself
Touch they soul, they give me the key
I got em hangin’ from my belt
Touch they soul, they give me the key
Touch they soul, they give me the key, ooh

Rico Nasty Drops “Turn It Up” With Production From 100 Gecs

Rico Nasty is one of those artists who always brings the heat. Overall, her ability to drop banger after banger is simply impressive. Whenever she comes out with something new, you know it is going to sound amazing. Although she may not get the mainstream attention she deserves, there is no doubt she has a loyal fanbase. When she drops something, you know they are going to follow. Consequently, fans have been clamoring for new music, and it seems like Rico has finally delivered.

Today, Rico Nasty dropped a new song and music video for “Turn It Up.” Interestingly, this song features production from Dylan Brady of 100 Gecs. 100 Gecs is a group that is known for their off-the-wall product and insane vocals. Overall, a lot of hip-hop artists have worked with them, and they continue to be leaders in their field. As far as Rico Nasty is concerned, her style works well with Brady’s production, so it is easy to see why they would link up.

Rico Nasty Pops Off On “Turn It Up”

Immediately upon putting on this track, you are greeted by some skeletal yet loud production from Brady. Additionally, Rico Nasty is giving this track her all as we get some braggadocios lyrics. The energy is turned all the way up, and there is no doubt that this song would pop off at a festival. Overall, it is some of her finest work to date.

The artist has yet to announce a new album, so hopefully, we hear something very soon. No matter what, it’s great to have some sort of new material from Rico Nasty. Let us know what you think of “Turn It Up,” in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

Turn it up, never pay attention to a hatin’ ass hoe
Don’t be on shit, but I bet they share each others clothes
Bet my weed smell like piss, inhale that I exhale out my nose
I got these hoes so mad
Like they off the coke, I got them blown

Machine Gun Kelly & Cordae Team Up For “Doja Freestyle”

Machine Gun Kelly has been on a very unique trajectory as it pertains to his career. Overall, some people in hip-hop look down on what he has done. However, it seems like transitioning to pop punk has actually bought him a lot more fans than you would think. The pop punk revival has been absolutely massive, and whether you like it or not, MGK is at the forefront of it all. Moreover, he still has some rap artists join him on these rock songs from time to time. At the end of the day, he’s just doing what he wants to do.

Despite this foray into rock, it still seems like MGK is dabbling back into his rap roots, whenever he can. For instance, he recently teamed up with the likes of Cordae for a new segment of The Cypher! On this latest edition of the series, Machine Gun Kelly and his guest rapped over the beat to “Doja,” which was a viral hit from Central Cee. Unsurprisingly, the new freestyle is simply called “Doja Freestyle,” which definitely makes a lot of sense here.

Machine Gun Kelly & Cordae Channel Central Cee

The production on this track is quirky, so to hear someone other than Central Cee over it might be a bit jarring. However, Machine Gun Kelly and Cordae certainly do their thing here. They both sound focused, and MGK has some great bars considering he has been writing pop punk over the last couple of years. If you like both artists, then this will prove to be a must-listen.

As for Machine Gun Kelly and his future endeavors, it remains to be seen whether or not he will continue to make music within hip-hop. Only time will tell whether or not he does. Let us know what you think of this freestyle, in the comments down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

How can I be homosapian? I’m a fucking alien
How the fuck could you say that I fell off? I just sold out a stadium
Crazy I didn’t have a date to prom ’cause now I’m like look who I’m marrying
I came outta Cleveland and now the timezone I’m in is Australian

Thundercat & Tame Impala Team Up For “No More Lies”

Thundercat is easily one of the best bassists in the entire world. Overall, he has shown that time and time again with his recent albums. His style is so fun to watch and the sounds he makes are truly special. Although, a lot of his work goes under the radar as he is constantly helping compose for other artists. Regardless, Thundercat is an incredible musician whose talent should be commended. Unfortunately, it has been three years since he has released any music. Thankfully, that streak ended today.

Just moments ago, Thundercat unleashed a brand-new track that features the likes of Tame Impala. Subsequently, fans are speculating that an album could be on the horizon. However, Thundercat has yet to make that clear on his end. Either way, Tame Impala is an amazing psychedelic rock group that has dominated in their space. Now, working with Thundercat, they have helped develop the new single “No More Lies.”

Thundercat & Tame Impala Are A Dream Team

Overall, this song is a psychedelic twist on soulful music, which is what you would want from a collaboration like this. Firstly, the basslines really stick out here as Thundercat sounds amazing, as per usual. Secondly, the shimmering guitars and reverbed drums fit nicely as the bassist delivers those signature vocals. Kevin Parker of Tame Impala offers his voice to the track as well, and the two have great chemistry.

Whether or not a full-on collaborative album is on the horizon, still remains to be seen. However, there is no doubt that this track is an exciting prospect for fans and the artists involved. Let us know what you think of this song, in the comments down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Quotable Lyrics:

That’s just the way it works or you and I keep getting hurt
We’re gonna lose control of the wheel
So put your seatbelt on, I think we’re about to crash in a world of pain
There’s so much work to do, so much to unpack
But it’s not your fault, I’m just kind of ass

The Weeknd Shares Ethereal New Snippet

It’s The Weeknd season, apparently, as he shared even more new music with his fans via social media. Moreover, this comes after the Canadian superstar released the single “Double Fantasy” with Future just last Friday (April 21). On this new snippet, Abel Tesfaye seems to play with the ethereal, dramatic, and synth-heavy style of pop and R&B that he became the world’s biggest star through. The autotune sounds a little more prominent on it than usual, which actually makes for a cool effect in the song’s dreamy atmosphere. However, the song might not appear as a solo release, but rather as part of the next Mike Dean album dropping this week, which Abel said he’s co-executive producing.

Still, the tease’s quality should come as no surprise, as he’s arguably at his artistic peak. In fact, that’s a sentiment that The Weeknd seems to agree with. Recently, his interview with Interview Magazine saw him dive deep into his most recent moves. One of those is the upcoming release of his HBO show “The Idol,” the soundtrack for which will feature the aforementioned “Double Fantasy.” During that conversation, the 33-year-old reflected on his provocative nature as an artist. Also, he spoke on his inspirations and how he’s excited to manifest them in musical form.

The Weeknd Is Keeping The Heat Up

“I’ve been inspired by The Wall and Purple Rain and when Bowie was doing it,” The Weeknd revealed. “But even films like Shaft, the music is literally telling the story of the film. But I want to take it to the next level. I want to challenge myself and I feel like, as a musician, I’m the best I’ve ever been. There’s a whole album,” he remarked about “The Idol”‘s soundtrack, letting fans know his TV endeavors won’t cut into his art. “I’m not shying away from making music. It’s just adding another element to my already crowded schedule.”

At another point in the interview, he addressed the controversies that followed him in his career. “I’ve been judged since the beginning,” the “Faith” singer expressed. “My stuff’s always kind of been provocative. As an artist, you have to know that you can’t please everybody. You have to accept that it comes with the job.” Check out the snippet above and return to HNHH for the latest news on The Weeknd.

Drake AI Returns With “Winter’s Cold” Song

A.I. technology is either the best or worst thing to happen to music since Napster, depending on who you ask. Moreover, its supporters see it as a new avenue for creativity, reference tracks, and new ways to put your work out there. On the other hand, its detractors see the dangers of copyright, false songs taking money away from artist, and laziness that A.I.-generated or assisted tracks pose. Regardless of which side you’re on, the last few weeks have seen an onslaught of A.I.-related material. The latest is a new track “from” Drake following his fake track with The Weeknd that set the industry ablaze.

Furthermore, this cut is called “Winter’s Cold,” and it’s unclear how much A.I. was involved in its creation. This technology can either turn an existing voice recording into an artist’s voice, or recreate lyrics and production based on the artist’s existing material. No matter how you slice it, fans seem to really enjoy these tracks. “Firstly, let me just say that that AI shit is evil & immoral,” a fan tweeted. “What’s already happened, and what could potentially happen to artists and the industry with this tech is despicable. HOWEVER, with all that said, THAT AI DRAKE WINTER’S COLD SONG IS THE HARDEST S**T TO DROP THIS YEAR!!”

Drake A.I. Drops Another Banger, “Winter’s Cold”

In fact, that sentiment seems to be a common one on social media. Of course, the argument also exists that it’s easier to replicate some artists than others, and Drake is perhaps the best example of that. His voice is just too recognizable, and he worked with so many styles that any lane of his could reemerge with relative ease. However, major labels aren’t having it. “UMG’s success has been, in part, due to embracing new technology and putting it to work for our artists- as we have been doing with our own innovation around AI for some time already,” Universal Music Group’s statement began. Moreover, they issued it after the Weeknd collab went insanely viral and they started taking it down from many platforms. It’s also worth noting that the 6 God isn’t a fan of this tech.

“With that said, however, the training of generative AI using our artists’ music (which represents both a breach of our agreements and a violation of copyright law) as well as the availability of infringing content created with generative AI on DSPs, begs the question as to which side of history all stakeholders in the music ecosystem want to be on: the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation,” they concluded. Wherever you may fall on that debate, stick around on HNHH for the latest on Drake and A.I. tech in music.

NBA YoungBoy is easily one of the biggest artists in the world right now. Overall, he certainly deserves that title. He has been prolific when it comes to all of his releases. Moreover, his consistency has helped grow his fanbase exponentially. If you were to look at the YouTube numbers, you would see an artist who is simply too potent to slow down. He has some of the best viewership in the game, and it is clear he is tapped in with the youth. Consequently, he continues to be seen as an A-list artist, despite the lack of mainstream support.

On Friday, NBA YoungBoy dropped off a 33-track album called Don’t Try This At Home. Although that is a lot of songs, fans do not mind whatsoever. They understand that YoungBoy loves to release a lot of music, and they will take what he gives them. Additionally, there are some impressive features throughout the project. For instance, on the song “What You Say,” we get appearances from the likes of Post Malone, as well as The Kid LAROI.

NBA YoungBoy Delivers A Star-Studded Hit

Vic Mensa Teams Up With Chance The Rapper & G-Eazy On “$WISH”

Vic Mensa is an artist who has gone through numerous phases in his career. Overall, he is someone who can do many different sounds. From party raps to more lyrical content, and even some punk music as well. Although he hasn’t dropped a ton of music as of late, Mensa continues to be a name that people look for. He is a staple of the Chicago hip-hop scene, with him and Chance The Rapper taking their spots as mythological figures in the city.

Speaking of Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa surprised fans recently when he announced he had a new song coming out with his friend. Moreover, the song was also going to feature G-Eazy. Although G-Eazy is not from the Bay Area, he is certainly a versatile MC. The song that Mensa was teasing is called “$WISH” and on Friday, it was released to the masses. Upon listening to the track, it is clear that Vic has an instant smash on his hands.

Vic Mensa x Chance x G-Eazy

Immediately, we get hit with some uptempo production. From the crisp drums to the bell melodies and keys in the background, we get something that immediately gets you out of your chair. Furthermore, Vic Mensa brings a whole bunch of energy as he and Chance riff on the chorus. The chemistry here is simply fantastic, and G-Eazy does a great job of navigating it all. As many fans are already saying, Mensa needs to put his weight behind this single. It has huge mainstream potential here.

Quotable Lyrics:

6ix9ine Displays His Singing Chops In New Snippet

If you know anything about 6ix9ine, it’s probably that he is hated by pretty well everyone in the hip-hop world. Overall, it is very easy to see why this would be the case. After all, he snitched on a whole bunch of people and landed them in jail for years. Moreover, upon leaving prison, he went on a nasty tirade in which he dissed people like King Von and Nipsey Hussle, after they had already passed away. Once these tactics stopped provoking people, he went away for a while and wasn’t heard from.

However, that all changed after he was jumped inside of an LA Fitness. It was an unfortunate incident for 6ix9ine, which ended up going mega-viral. Although, he seems to be making the best of it. In the last few weeks, he has dropped two new songs, including “WAPAE,” which seems to be doing huge numbers on YouTube and beyond. People love the Latin direction 6ix9ine has been going in, and soon, he will be dropping more new music. He has posted a plethora of snippets online, including the one below.

6ix9ine Is Having Fun

As you can hear up above, this track actually flexes the fact that 6ix9ine is a pretty decent singer. Whether or not there are a ton of vocal effects here, is up the engineer to divulge. Either way, it sounds like another Latin club smash that could very well become an arena song. Additionally, he will be working with Lenier again, who has a history with the rainbow-haired rapper. Furthermore, the rapper continues to tease the new contest for his music video. He is looking for a country to film in, and he is also looking for a video girl.

Whether or not this song will live up to the expectations of his fans, remains to be seen. Although the rap establishment has blacklisted him, there is no doubt that other genres are accepting his comeback for what it is. Whether or not this leads to any longevity, remains to be seen. Let us know what you think of this new direction, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

Kim Petras Taps Nicki Minaj To Feature On Single “Alone”

Kim Petras has released the follow up single to her featuring role on Sam Smith’s hit, “Unholy.” Petras, who recently won a Grammy award, began teasing a new song on social media in March. It was then announced that it would feature a verse from Nicki Minaj. The song, titled “Alone,” prominently samples Alice Deejay’s famous ’90s Eurodance hit “Better Off Alone.” Petras later confirmed on Instagram that the song would be released on April 21 and posted a video in which she sat next to a fireplace and spoke into a pink rotary phone. The video featured a sample of Nicki’s voice saying “Yeah! It’s Barbie and it’s Kim Petras!” over the classic ’90s tune.

In an interview with Apple Music about the song, Kim Petras explained why she chose to sing over the sample. “I was born and raised in Germany, and that song is a classic in clubs all over Europe, so I grew up to it,” she said. “I had a lot of amazing moments, some bad moments… So many club moments in general to that song. So, that song is just in me, and I feel like it inspired me to make music. I’m just so honored that Alice Deejay let us do this shit because it’s epic.”

Some Features Are Better Than Others

What better way to start the summer pop season than singing over a dated ’90s pop instrumental? Although Kim Petras did recently take home a Grammy, it was for a featuring role on Sam Smith’s “Unholy.” Not to take away from her achievement, it’s still great. However, Kim Petras is not as good as a standalone artist as she is when she features on someone else’s song. Even if you grew up in the ’90s, the “Better Off Alone” instrumental is extremely played out. Perhaps if Dr. Luke, who produced the track, had made more of an effort to update the sound or modernize it, it would have been better. Sadly, it feels very much like a copy and paste job.

Lyrically, the song is a basic club banger reminiscent of 2010-era singles. It features lyrics about wanting to go home with someone you meet while you’re out dancing. “I could ride it, ride it, ride it, ride it all night,” Petras philosophizes over the beat. “Watch me ride it, ride it, ride it, ride it all night.” According to the credits, six people wrote the lyrics to this song. That’s not counting Nicki and her verse. Speaking of Nicki, sadly her verse does not do much for the song. While her flow is amazing as always, it feels somewhat tacked on. It does, however, go to show how much of a chameleon she is. Still, it doesn’t touch her “Princess Diana” feature from last week. What do you think of the new Kim Petras song? Sound off in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

I set trends from Queens to Beijing
I’m not the one that do the imitating
Puff, puff, pass ’cause you know we blazing
When I put it on him, he say, “It’s amazing”
