Machine Gun Kelly & Cordae Team Up For “Doja Freestyle”

Machine Gun Kelly has been on a very unique trajectory as it pertains to his career. Overall, some people in hip-hop look down on what he has done. However, it seems like transitioning to pop punk has actually bought him a lot more fans than you would think. The pop punk revival has been absolutely massive, and whether you like it or not, MGK is at the forefront of it all. Moreover, he still has some rap artists join him on these rock songs from time to time. At the end of the day, he’s just doing what he wants to do.

Despite this foray into rock, it still seems like MGK is dabbling back into his rap roots, whenever he can. For instance, he recently teamed up with the likes of Cordae for a new segment of The Cypher! On this latest edition of the series, Machine Gun Kelly and his guest rapped over the beat to “Doja,” which was a viral hit from Central Cee. Unsurprisingly, the new freestyle is simply called “Doja Freestyle,” which definitely makes a lot of sense here.

The production on this track is quirky, so to hear someone other than Central Cee over it might be a bit jarring. However, Machine Gun Kelly and Cordae certainly do their thing here. They both sound focused, and MGK has some great bars considering he has been writing pop punk over the last couple of years. If you like both artists, then this will prove to be a must-listen.

As for Machine Gun Kelly and his future endeavors, it remains to be seen whether or not he will continue to make music within hip-hop. Only time will tell whether or not he does. Quotable Lyrics:

How can I be homosapian? I’m a fucking alien
How the fuck could you say that I fell off? I just sold out a stadium
Crazy I didn’t have a date to prom ’cause now I’m like look who I’m marrying
I came outta Cleveland and now the timezone I’m in is Australian
