Reason Delivers Incredible Bars On “The Soul Pt. 3”

Reason is going to be dropping a brand-new album in just nine days from now. Overall, the TDE artist is beloved by his fans, and his supporters have been waiting on a new body of work. His last full-length LP was in 2020, and since that time, he has been teasing new music. However, on Tuesday, it was revealed that he would be releasing a 17-track album called Porches. Some great artists will be on the album, including Zacari, SiR, Baby Tate, and even August Alsina, among others.

So far, we have already heard some of the singles from the project. That said, on Wednesday, Reason decided to come through with a new track. If you are a fan of his, you know of his “The Soul” series, which typically is released prior to a new body of work. These tracks never make the final album, which makes them akin to Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart” series. Having said all of that, “The Soul Pt. 3” has finally arrived, and it does not disappoint.

Travis Scott, Beyonce & Bon Iver Conjure Magic On “DELRESTO (ECHOES)”

Travis Scott’s UTOPIA landed like an alien spacecraft in a football field, to absolutely no one’s surprise. Moreover, La Flame’s sixth full-length project is surprising, otherworldly, ambitious, and lush with sonic detail and obtuse lyricism. While there are too many highlights and amazing moments to name, “DELRESTO (ECHOES)” certainly stands out as one of its most notable and shocking moments. With assistance from two revered vocal titans in Beyoncé and Bon Iver, this makes for one of the best moments on the LP on first listen due to the reveal of its hidden features. In addition, it features production from Travis, Bey, James Blake, Allen Ritter, Hit-Boy, Mike Dean, and umru, making for a vibrant and progressive instrumental.

In fact, it might remind many listeners of Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE with its house-inspired rhythms and musical aesthetics. However, there’s also something tribal, ritualistic, and almost holy about the always tense but never fully explosive progression of “DELRESTO (ECHOES).” That might be a turn-off for some, but the constant build-up feels more like a journey of peace than a throwaway, half-baked idea for a song. Beyonce and Bon Iver both stun with their passionate vocal performances, and Travis Scott switches from melodic flows to rapid-fire bars with ease. With multiple synth layers, additional instruments, and variations throughout the song, the track feels complete without exaggerating its opulence.

Meanwhile, it seems like this collab between these Houston stars has been a long time coming. With that history in mind, this adds even more gravity and impact to “DELRESTO (ECHOES)” and its fusion of styles. In an album full of darkness and dystopian soundscapes, this song is a beacon of light peppered in that is sure to rejuvenate and inspire you. If you haven’t heard UTOPIA yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service and check out some standout lines from this song below. Offset Announces New Cardi B Collab Coming Soon

Offset is coming fresh off some standout appearances on Metro Boomin’s recent Spider-Man soundtrack. He appears on one of the biggest tracks from the album “Annihilate” with Lil Wayne and Swae Lee. He also shows up on one of the fan-favorite cuts “Danger” alongside JID. Now he’s announced a new song and it’s one that more than just Offset fans will want to pay attention to. The track is called “Jealousy” and features Cardi B alongside the former Migos rapper. Fans won’t have to wait very long to hear it either, as the track drops this Friday. The song was announced on Instagram earlier today with a pretty simple caption. “Let’s talk about some music! Jealousy out this Friday! Link in bio!” The single features a hilarious cover where Cardi takes center stage already looking over it all.

All the way back in January Offset dropped his first new music of the year. He released the track “2 LIVE” alongside producer Hit-Boy, who is having quite a prolific year himself. Later in the year, he appeared alongside DB Bantino on the R-Mean song “TBS.” While Cardi B hasn’t released a ton of material either, she’s made her moments count. Earlier this year she teamed up with Latto for a remix called “Put It On Da Floor Again.” The track immediately became a top 10 hit and has lingered in the top 50 for months. She also joined up-and-coming rap star FendiDa Rapper on her new song “Point Me 2.”

Lil Baby Decimated By Twitter After Previewing New Song

Lil Baby has been hit with quite a bit of slander as of late. Overall, much of this has to do with the fact that his tour is experiencing a lack of ticket sales. Although he is one of the best streaming artists right now, he can’t seem to sell out an arena tour. Many have attributed this to the fact that the tickets are too expensive. However, some believe it is because the artist doesn’t put on a good enough stage show to warrant such large venues. Either way, it has led to various date cancelations.

Furthermore, The Kid LAROI just dropped out of the tour, which is another huge blow. Ultimately, this is becoming a disaster, and things only got worse for Lil Baby on Tuesday. This is because the artist shared a new song preview on social media, that immediately went viral. With Baby’s status in the game being heavily debated, fans were quick to judge the new track. As you will hear below, the song is very much in the same vein as Baby’s other tracks. Consequently, fans were less than amused.

Lil Baby Shares New Snippet

The tweet above has over 6,000 quote tweets and just 9,000 likes. Although it may not be the most brutal ratio, it is still indicative of just how much people were not feeling this music. If you were to go to the quote tweets right now, you would see a whole lot of hate. For instance, one tweet compared Lil Baby’s trajectory to that of DaBaby and Roddy Ricch. Additionally, some said that Gunna should be glad that he was cut off by Lil Baby and others.

Twitter Goes In

Twitter user @big_business_ wrote, “Nothing worse than when you see your favorites trying to find a single to stick.” Another said. “Gunna being cut off by them was really a blessing in disguise lol being associated with this sinking ship wouldn’t benefit him at all.” These are all harsh critiques and certainly feel like an exaggeration. That said, let us know what you think of the new song preview, in the comments section below.

JT Holds Nothing Back On New Single “No Bars”

JT from City Girls has released her first new solo single in a while. While she originally made waves years ago with “JT First Day Out,” now she’s taking on another song all on her own. After teasing the song earlier this week and being met with quite a bit of fan hype, “No Bars” dropped last night. Despite JT being the only rapper on board the track is surprisingly multi-faceted. While the song feels like it could wrap up after the long first verse it subverts expectations with a second even more intense follow-up.

The track is primarily produced by Noc who has worked with Coi Leray in the past. But the primary name grabbing people’s attention in the liner notes is Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj and JT have become pretty good friends recently. The two are consistently appearing on each other’s Instagram lives to discuss all kinds of different topics. Most recently they talked about “Endless Fashion,” Nicki’s new song with JT’s partner Lil Uzi Vert. The song went viral for Nicki’s performance in particular and they had a hilarious time breaking it down. Now their friendship has advanced beyond just IG Lives to full-on songwriting.

JT Spits Bars Despite The Title

Another ongoing storyline that gets JT fans’ attention is her relationship with Lil Uzi Vert. The pair had a bit of a viral eruption at the BET Awards last month. While it was initially reported to involve Uzi spitting a bar about Ice Spice in their performance, both sides denied that. The couple has also seemed to thoroughly make up in the weeks since.

JT and Lil Uzi Vert were photographed together at the Pink Tape party celebrating the release of Uzi’s new album. What do you think of JT’s first new solo song in years? Let us know in the comment section below.

LEGACY!. According to Uproxx, alongside the announcement, she also released the album’s lead single “Tiny Gardens” as well as an accompanying music video. Woods described the track as “a song about the way my heart works, the slow and steady way I love.”

She also directed the track’s music video and shared some thoughts on her approach. “I wanted to create a visual representation of how I often feel in relationships — like I’m having huge feelings that I end up expressing in small specific ways,” her statement reads. Unsurprisingly, the project will dive into some intimate details of Woods’ life. ““Water Made Us feels like the most personal and vulnerable piece of art I’ve ever made. I love creating from source material, diving deep into a subject, and extrapolating from what I discover.” Water Made Us is set to release on October 13th via Jagjaguwar and features songs with Duendita and Peter CottonTale.

Jamila Woods’ 3rd Album Is On The Way

Though she hasn’t released a new album in 4 years she hasn’t been completely quiet. She teamed up with Peter CottonTale for a song called “WYD” back in 2021. The pair are set to link up again on another new song in the tracklist of Woods’ forthcoming album. She only released one new single of her own in 2022. The track “Boundaries” dropped to praise from both fans and critics alike. A remixed version of the song with DRAMA also went on to receive praise from fans.

Jamila Woods also teamed up with Adi Oasis on a song last year. The track “Red To Violet” saw the pair teaming up for an R&B number that has generated over a million streams since its release last year. YK Osiris Cries In Instagram Post Celebrating Independent Release

YK Osiris has had a turbulent time in the wake of his drama with Sukihana. The rapper was caught on video being extremely physically forward with her during a basketball game last month. Dozens of fans and celebrities weighed in on the controversy and the video went extremely viral. Osiris issued an apology but many, including Sukihana’s own mother felt like it was deeply insufficient. He ultimately issued another apology later on. Instead of laying low, he’s remained pretty active on social media. He weirded plenty of fans out when he posted a bizarre staged video to his Instagram with veiled responses to his controversy.

A few days after that video was posted YK Osiris returned to Instagram. This time he treated fans to a snippet of an upcoming song he was working on. The track seemed to address his die-hards directly and was titled “Dear Fans.” Now the song is finally out and he celebrated it with another strange video. The short clip features Osiris crying and is accompanied by a caption celebrating his shift to independent releases. “THANK U GOD 🙏🏾🙏🏾 MY FIRST INDEPENDENT RECORD DROPPED , I COULDN’T ASK FOR NUN ELSE 🔥🙏🏾🙏🏾❤ ‘DEAR FANS’ OUT NOW LINK IN BIO,” the caption reads.

YK Osiris Drops First Song Since Sukihana Drama

The last time YK Osiris addressed his fans it was with a different tone. Last month he made a post claiming that fans were “putting him in his place” following all the Sukihana drama. Fans weren’t the only ones doing it either as numerous fellow rappers came to Suki’s defense.

YK Osiris hasn’t released a studio album since 2019’s The Golden Child. His biggest hit song “Worth It” peaked at number 48 on the Hot 100. While he hasn’t had any other songs of his own chart he has appeared on one other. Dababy’s 2019 hit “Gospel” features Osiris alongside Chance The Rapper and Gucci Mane and peaked at number 55. What do you think of YK Osiris’s newest bizarre Instagram video? Let us know in the comment section below.

JT Announces New Song Dropping This Friday

JT has already had a busy 2023 with a few viral moments and a few more City Girls songs under her belt. Now she’s setting her sights on some new solo music. In a new Instagram post, she announced that her new single “No Bars” is coming this Friday. It’s JT’s first true solo single in years, since the made the viral classic “JT First Day Out” in 2019 after being released from jail. The announcement post was immediately flooded by fellow celebs like BIA and Justine Skye expressing their excitement for the upcoming new song.

The release follows a trio of new songs from City Girls, the duo that JT drops music as alongside fellow rapper Yung Miami. The pair kicked off the summer with an anthem called “Act Bad” alongside Fabolous and Diddy. They followed it up quickly with a pair of new singles following it. “I Need A Thug” and “Pinata” both came out in early June but the pair have been quiet since then, at least musically.

JT Has Solo Music Coming

The biggest drama for JT in recent weeks spawned from an incident at the BET Awards. A video of a shouting match between her and partner Lil Uzi Vert went viral after the show. At first, many fans thought it might have had something to do with Ice Spice. Uzi name dropped the “Munch” rapper during their performance. Ice Spice didn’t help things when she posted a photo dump from the night that included a pic of her and Uzi. Since then everyone has clarified that there is no bad blood and that Ice Spice wasn’t involved.

JT and Lil Uzi have taken plenty of opportunities to prove that things are fine. The pair were photographed together at the release party for Uzi’s new album Pink Tape. Last week in an interview JT described Uzi as “her favorite thing to eat.” Things seem to be pretty much okay between the couple now. What do you think about JT dropping a new solo song? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ransom & Nicholas Craven Tap Talib Kweli & Raina Simone For “Minority Report”

Jersey City MC Ransom and producer Nicholas Craven recently released a full-length collaborative project, Directors Cut 4. For fans of soulful and sample-heavy production, intricate rhymes, and a refreshed take on classic hip-hop, this is one of the most notable releases of the week. Although it contains plenty of standouts, one that’s bound to particularly resonate with fans is the stacked “Minority Report.” Featuring Talib Kweli and Raina Simone, this song focuses on authenticity, talent within hip-hop, and emerging from a system that is stacked against you. There are a lot of heavy street bars on here, as well as more spiritual fare and comments on political oppression, but don’t let this denseness put you off.

For starters, the beat by Nicholas Craven might remind listeners of some of Ransom’s earlier beats like “Sinatra’s Demons.” Like that song, this track contains some powerful strings and a minimal but still noticeable drum pattern to keep the song grounded. Also, there’s an interesting mix between these strings and some faint background vocals that seem more ghostly than anything else. Considering the track’s weighted subject matter, this just adds to the drama and impact of the sharp bars. For example, the legendary Talib Kweli’s verse takes more of a violence-oriented focus, speaking on snitches and posturing in the world of crime.

Ransom & Nicholas Craven’s “Minority Report”

Matched with Ransom’s opening verse and chorus, this makes for a bittersweetly triumphant cut. To close things off before the last chorus, lyricist Raina Simone delivers a killer verse about her struggles, experience, and legacy as a Black woman. Even though this songs packs a deep punch, it still thrives in the fundamentals of the genre (like much of his material) to make an engaging listen. If you haven’t heard Directors Cut 4 yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service and peep some notable lines from “Minority Report” down below.
