Bas Delivers On A Late Night Summer Jam With “Ho Chi Minh”

Dreamville’s label is loaded from top to bottom with talent. You have the heavy hitters with J. Cole and JID. Even on the “lower end” you have artists such as Ari Lennox, EARTHGANG, etc. However, it is hard to not mention Bas. He consistently puts out quality material when he decides to drop. That is the caveat, though, “when.” It has been just over five years since the release of his last full-length, Milky Way. Tracks such as “Tribe” featuring J. Cole and “Boca Raton” with A$AP Ferg are standouts from this project, but the hits do not stop there.

This year, two singles from the Queens, New York native have been big hits with his fanbase. “Diamonds,” released back at the beginning of the year on January 24, sees Bas getting into his slow-jam bag and lightly but effectively produced cut. Then, he linked up with J. Cole for another fire collaboration on “Passport Bros.” An elite summer bop that transports you to a Latin-America country to drink and dance the night away. Now, we have another single to promote his upcoming fourth album with the single, “Ho Chi Minh.”

This Will Be On Bas’ Next Album

Ho Chi Minh is a city located in southern Vietnam and it is considered the largest city in the country. Additionally, it is the central hub for all things business and financial. Bas is rapping a lot about introspection, “Who gon’ bleed with me in a war of one? / Who my enemy? I’m the only one / Self destruction is imminent, dimmin’ my light.” The bars contrast nicely with the emotional piano keys and warped vocals on the backend. It sure to be a fan favorite on his long-awaited album We Only Talk About Real Sh*t When We’re F**ked Up.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new single from Bas, “Ho Chi Minh?” Is this the rapper’s best single of the year so far? Does thing song get you more amped for his fourth album? Doja Cat Calls Out Those Who Take Issue With Her Her New Song’s Artwork

Earlier today, Doja Cat announced the third single from her upcoming new album. The track follows “Attention” and a breakthrough hit second single “Paint The Town Red.” Earlier this week, “Paint The Down Red” leaped into the top 5 of the Hot 100 hitting a new peak of #5. Now Doja has confirmed that her next new single will be arriving later this week. The track is called “Demons” and alongside the announcement, she also shared the artwork for the song and a tease for the music video on Twitter. As is often the case with Doja, some people took issue with her imagery. But this time she didn’t hesitate or mince words with her response.

“Y’all so b*tchmade you probably couldn’t make it through an episode of ‘Goosebumps’, f*ckin p*ssies,” Doja Cat said on Instagram. While it’s a pretty intense clapback as far as responses go, it’s also laced with Doja’s always hilarious demeanor. Unsurprisingly though, not all her fans agreed on her doubling down. References to the post being satanic and fittingly demonic are all over the comments. Those complaints certainly aren’t new for this era of Doja’s career but the hate only seems to inspire her to double down.

In an interview following the whole event, Doja Cat clarified her thoughts on the situation. She said that she “felt free” after losing all the Instagram followers which even more fans took issue with. Doja Cat’s “Demons” Single Cover Art Is Chilling

It is finally here, the cover artwork is finally upon us! Doja Cat’s highly anticipated new album Scarlet seems to be getting closer by the day. We were first teased about the release date almost a week ago when Doja posted to her Instagram. Her silhouette revealed her wearing devil horns with the caption reading, “9.1.23 ⏳

Next, on Twitter, we got another teaser for “Demons” with her sharing some footage from the accompanying music video. It shows Doja in a bathtub from an aerial view with black water and a large, creepy, black hand pulling her head back. Doja’s eyes are rolled back revealing ghostly white eyeballs. If that was not enough to salivate over, her new ink also displays what her new themes for Scarlet will be. She recently got a really cool scythe tattoo that wraps around her entire ear. Now that we are just a few days away from more material from the “Say So” songwriter, the cover art is out. Well, it is here and it is blood-curdling, to say the least. At first glance, all you might see is what appears to be a living room of some sort. A comfy chair, mirror, a table with a lamp, that all is normal. But then you scan the photo and you will notice a woman hanging upside down in all black, creepily smiling at you. That woman is Doja Cat fully embracing her new controversial look. The final touch is “Demons” written into the carpet.

Selena Gomez Says “Single Soon” Isn’t About The Weeknd

Cash Cobain Links With Chow Lee Again On “Rump”

Frequent collaborators Cash Cobain and Chow Lee pair up for a night of hedonism and debauchery on their new joint single. The song is called “Rump,” and if you are not familiar with the slang, rump means someone’s behind. It usually refers to the women and that is certainly the case here. Lee and Cobain are no strangers as we mentioned above. The duo has a collective effort called 2 SLIZZY 2 SEXY, which was released back in 2022.

Cobain has spoken with Rolling Stone and Pitchfork about his musical style. “My music is about ho-ing, I just love being a ho.” The Bronx native loves to combine drill and jersey club music, making for melodic tales about heading to the club in search of his next partner for the night. “Rump” signifies this model with a woozy instrumental that has looping background vocals and a repetitive bass line.

Cash Cobain Pairs “Rump” With Music Video

The visuals for the music video, while typical for a song like this, are stylized in a cool way. The color scheme is a lot of green and black, which adds to the hazy-like qualities of “Rump.” What is also interesting are the outfits of Cobain and Lee. Cobain’s shirt is based on the collab album 2 SLIZZY 2 SEXY while Lee’s is straight-up funny. The text on his shirt reads, “GIRLS C**M FIRST” with an exclamation mark with a heart shape. Overall, the fans like the music video and the song saying, “This the greatest music video I’ve ever seen” and “Cash and Chow taking over this game.”

Real Bad Man Brings On Blu And C.L. Smooth For “The Golden Rule”

Who knew a part street clothing company also produced fire beats? Well, that is exactly who Real Bad Man is, as they have just come out with a terrific new single. This collaboration features lyrical geniuses Blu and C.L. Smooth. It is the ultimate conscious hip-hop track with a stellar but simple beat with a nice guitar riff loop, piano, and drum pattern. However, the production takes a slight but noticeable change when Smooth’s verse begins.

In addition, the song does not overstay its welcome either. At just under three minutes both MCs fill out the runtime with ease. The chorus is also extremely catchy and just as hard-hitting as the bars. The refrain is first performed by Blu and then Smooth teams up with him for the final one. “Knock ’em out for the count, count one to ten / Soon as the bout begins, the bout ends / And we ’bout to take you out for another win.” Furthermore, it includes a ringing bell as you would when watching a boxing match, adding a nice effect to it.

Peezy And Key Glock Come Through With “No Amiris”

Key Glock and Peezy are an unfamiliar combination but they complement each other perfectly on this new track. Detroit and Memphis collide for straight heat on “No Amiris,” a song about having the money and being the man of the city, which fits right into these artists’ wheelhouses. CHASETHEMONEY is responsible for the hard-hitting production here. He has worked with the likes of IDK, Yeat, Ski Mask the Slump God, and more.

The beat is sinister with twinkling but creepy piano keys and rattling hi-hats. Both provide aggressive and entertaining lyrics to couple with the beat’s tone. Overall, Peezy and Key Glock have solid chemistry on the track and fans seem to be loving what they are hearing so far. They also put out a music video for “No Amiris.”

Tyrese Takes Aim At His Ex In New Track “Love Transaction”

Tyrese has been quite vocal about his feelings about his ex, Samantha Lee, amid their rough divorce process. The performer has previously accused the mother of his child of only being in the relationship for money and status. In May, he even took to social media to vent about his former lover. “I left the courtroom during a divorce trial, and I realized it was never love,” he said in a clip. “It was just a transaction.” It was far from the last time he went on a rant about Samantha Lee. He hopped online again last month to diss her.

“I don’t give a f*ck how pretty she is,” he said, “it doesn’t mean what she’s saying is the truth.” His thoughts followed a court ruling for him to pay his ex around $650K in child support, which he claimed he would appeal. “They cracked the prenup. Yeah, so everything is about to get reversed, flipped. All of my legal fees from the day that she filed, it’s all going to drop on her head. It’s coming,” he explained. Now, Tyrese has decided to channel his negative feelings towards his former partner into his music, as evidenced by his new song “Love Transaction.”

Tyrese – “Love Transaction”

“When did love become a transaction?” he repeatedly asks on the track, also claiming that his past lover left him “emotionally bankrupt.” He continues, “I loved you and you loved me / We were supposed to be a family / But you threw it all away / the day you left things haven’t been the same.” It appears as though Tyrese continues to have a tough time with the divorce, and still has hard feelings about Samantha Lee taking him to court over child support.

In other news, the 44-year-old also recently sued Home Depot over an unfortunate encounter he had in the store earlier this year. He accuses the employees involved of “outrageous discriminatory mistreatment and consumer racial profiling.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Tyrese.

Legendary producer DJ Muggs is here with a 19-song offering in the form of Soul Assassins 3: Death Valley. It is the third title in the Soul Assassins series, with the first one appearing back in 1997. The third album brings some great jazz and boom-bap-like production across the 46-minute and 14-second runtime. This is arguably the best tape out of all three.

Muggs’ Soul Assassins I, reached number 86 on the Billboard 200 and earned plenty of amazing reviews. Muggs grabbed Dr. Dre, B-Real, La the Darkman, Mobb Deep, RZA, GZA, Goodie Mob, KRS-One, and Wyclef Jean to boot. Then three years later, he returned with Soul Assassins II. Unfortunately, its peak was only 178. However, it garnered similarly positive reviews, so why not feed the fans more?
