Nicki Minaj Announces New Single “Red Rudy Da Sleeze”

It’s been five years since the release of Nicki Minaj’s last studio album, Queen. Though Nicki earned the hiatus, which allowed her to welcome her first son, fans have been on the edge of their seats for new single. The rapper came through with a handful of singles in 2022, like “Do We Have A Problem” ft. Lil Baby and “We Go Up” ft Fivio Foreign. Additionally, she dished out several collaborations including FIFA World Cup’s Fan Festival anthem “Tukoh Taka” alongside Maluma and Myriam Fares. And throughout the releases, fans continued to anticipate the announcement of her next studio album.

We haven’t received many updates recently but there have been a few promising signs that Nicki will be making a comeback soon. During her recent visit to Trinidad for Carnival, she announced that Queen Radio would return in the near future. Typically, Nicki uses the platform to update her fans, talk sh*t, and address everything that’s on her mind. She confirmed that her radio show would be back on March 3rd but that’s not all she has in store.

Nicki Minaj Announces New Single During Carnival

On Wednesday night, Nicki hit the ‘Gram where she shared a new snippet of music while confirming that a new single is on the way. While surrounded by a group of women, Nicki previewed her new single, seemingly titled, “Red Rudy Da Sleeze.” The song, which samples Lumidee’s “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh),” is expected to drop on March 3rd, the same day as Queen Radio returns to the air. It seems like Nicki could be aiming to release her forthcoming album this summer.

The announcement of the new single comes shortly after Nicki delivered her first verse of the year. On Friday, Nicki unveiled her remix of Machel Montana and Destra’s “Shake The Place,” which she later performed in Trinidad. Just before that, Epic Records A&R Vice President Fly Ty hinted that he and Nicki Minaj were working on something big. Though it’s unclear what they have in store, it seems as though “Red Rudy Da Sleaze” will kick off the campaign for the next chapter in Nicki’s career.

The Alchemist Picks Up The Mic On “60 Days” With Larry June

Hopefully The Alchemist and Larry June are dropping their album soon, because their latest single “60 Days” is so promising. Moreover, the track features both California rap artists in their best elements. On one hand, June comes through with steady and effortless verses, whereas Al- wait, did he just start rapping? Not only does The Alchemist produce here, but he gifts fans a nice 8-bar verse with some engaging rhymes and wordplay. Of course, Al got his start as an MC and that, paired with his decades of experiences, might be lost on newer listeners. Overall, if you had a doubt about either of these artists, “60 Days” indicates that a project could just bring out the best in each other.

First, the instrumental here is classic Alchemist production. For example, the bright and otherworldly string samples and very light beat contrast with deep bass. As perfectly evidenced on albums of his like Sandwich, he’s a master at making a grimy beat feel wondrous, and a dreamy instrumental feel grounded. It also pairs well with June’s more understated delivery here, even as he details his lavish lifestyle. Most importantly, maybe these contrasts are indicative of the tracks themes. A lot can happen in 60 days, and there’s always the conflict between where you are and what it took to get you there.

Still, what did you think of this newest track from Larry June and The Alchemist, the lush “60 Days”? Moreover, are you looking forward to a new album from the two? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out the music video and standout bars down below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, you can find the single on your preferred streaming service. As always, come back to HNHH for the best new music of the week from top-tier rappers, producers, or both.

Quotable Lyrics
Know how to spot and catch a phony and do the plaxico to myself before the matrimony (Shoot myself)
Stick shift Aston, I’m diggin’ in my trick basket (Yeah)
Fixin’ plays, cut up the pot and split the change (60 days)
A lot of s**t could happen in 60 days

Flo Milli Does Her Thing On New “Nasty Dancer” Single

Summer is obviously still several months away, but Flo Milli is already dropping off bop after bop to keep our energy high. On her first release of 2023, the Alabama native previously tapped Lola Brooke and Maiya The Don to remix her “Conceited” track. Now, she’s showing out on her own with “Nasty Dancer,” an upbeat new title.

The catchy single comes in at just over two minutes and 15 seconds and finds the lyricist feeling as braggadocious as ever. “You bitches a joke and you hurt / Mad ’cause I’m really that bitch and your n*gga a flirt,” she raps to her haters before turning the topic to a vacation in Turks where her p*ssy is sure to make a man surf.

Elsewhere over the beat, Milli name-drops another popular female artist. “In love with the cat, give him Doja,” she cleverly spits. We haven’t seen the Planet Her hitmaker collaborate with the “Beef FloMix” artist quite yet, but fingers crossed that the bar leads to a potential studio session for the pair in the future.

Prior to dropping “Nasty Dancer,” the 23-year-old teased the single on social media. In her usual fashion, she leaned heavily on pop culture references, specifically recreating a famous scene from Braxton Family Values. The clip sees the rap diva channelling Tamar Braxton, singing the chorus of her latest arrival acapella as some close friends groove out alongside her.

Stream Flo Milli’s salacious “Nasty Dancer” single on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, tell us your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, if you’re looking for more releases from female artists, we suggest you check out Latto’s latest, “Lottery,” here.

Quotable Lyrics:

You bitches a joke and you hurt
Mad ’cause I’m really that bitch and your n*gga a flirt
I made him take me to Turks
He spent a check so this p*ssy be makin’ him surf
Give ’em a reason to lurk
F*ck up his life then I take him to church (Hallelujah)

Toosii’s Latest Single Is About To Be Your “Favorite Song”

Toosii’s first single of 2023, “Magic Potion,” arrived last month and has already amassed nearly 850K streams on Spotify alone. This New Music Friday (February 17), he’s following it up with a single that’s sure to become your “Favorite Song” in the near future.

The track boasts production by ADELSO and finds the recording artist getting vulnerable as he expresses his feelings about love. Across the nearly three-and-a-half-minute-long offering, the New Yorker lists off things that women typically love, like riding in the Wraith and going out on dates.

“You want somebody to come bring you flowers / Someone to talk to for hours / Wash your back while y’all sit in the shower,” he rhymes mid-way through the first verse. When the pre-chorus rolls around, Toosii croons about his love interest opening her heart to him. “Someone to tell you you’re beautiful / Someone to tell you and mean it.”

In a press release, the singer explains, “‘Favorite Song’ is about touching every dynamic of what a woman expects from a man. It’s a heart-throbbing, real-life, and motivational record. But yet a distinct song that is bound to be your favorite song.”

As Genius notes, the new arrival samples Tatiana Manaois’ “You Might As Well,” which previously premiered in November 2022. Toosii previously teased the track on TikTok and Instagram – since then fans have been eagerly awaiting its debut on DSPs. At the same time, the 23-year-old teased other titles like “Woo Lady,” “Another Love Song,” and “Georgia.”

Quotable Lyrics:

I’m on the stage right now, singin’ your favorite song
Look in the crowd, and you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along

Key Glock Puts In “Work” On New Single

Key Glock just released a new single titled “Work,” which highlights why he’s one of Memphis’ biggest stars. Moreover, he got fans prepped and ready for his next album Glockoma 2, which releases next week on February 24th. Of course, Key’s never been one to take too long out of the spotlight. For example, just last year he released the PRE5L EP in honor of his fallen friend, Young Dolph. With this newest track, he continues contributing menacing, hard-hitting, but still emotionally resonant trap music. Although this newest track is about all the work Glock puts in, he still laments some of the losses he experienced along the way.

First off, the instrumental is a pretty unique effort, at least when compared to the rest of the output from his home city. For one, the haunting string and vocal samples that form its melody are atmospheric and quite distinct from your typical piano leads. While it doesn’t switch up much in terms of the beat, Glock’s flow goes through a few changes. Also, the beat’s oddity grows on you, and you notice its old-school Memphis-inspired drums the more you listen. At the center of it all, Key keeps a steady and authoritative flow as he details his perseverance.

Still, what did you think of Key Glock’s newest single ahead of his next album Glockoma 2, “Work”? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out some notable bars from the track below. Also, if you haven’t heard the song yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the best new music of the week and for Key Glock’s next album drop.

Quotable Lyrics
Wake up, no pancakes, just syrup
Ten toes down, yeah, stay on alert
I get it in like the first and the third
This s**t I got on, it came out the dirt
All of this money, I feel like I’m cursed
I lost my dawg, every day this s**t hurt

Latto & LU KALA Win The “Lottery” On Their First Collaborative Track: Stream

With so many female rap artists on the rise right now, it can be hard to stand out. With her latest release, 24-year-old Latto is certainly proving that she’s had no problem carving out her own lane. On the upbeat, “Lottery,” she works with Congolese-Canadian artist LU KALA over a disco-infused beat that’s sure to remain in rotation well into the summer months.

The Ohio-born starlet teased the track on Instagram a few weeks ago. At the time, she told followers that “pop Latto [is] loading,” and boy did she deliver. While the beat is a far departure from what the “Wheelie” hitmaker usually rhymes over, her lyrics are as raunchy as ever.

“Ooh, you lookin’ at a centrefold / Playboy bunny, wanna take me home?” she flirtatiously asks on the second verse. “Bad bitch from head to toe / Tryna fold me up and lick it like an envelope.” On the chorus, KALA’s voice shines as she sings about unwrapping in the sheets and revealing dirty fantasies.

“Lottery” marks Latto’s first release of the year, following a triumphant run throughout 2022. In December, she gave us “Another Nasty Song” – a previously unreleased title that fell victim to her massive leak. Prior to that, we heard her collaborate with GloRilla and the late Gangsta Boo on “FTCU” as well as Chlöe on “For the Night.”

The quick-witted rhymer is also approaching the one-year anniversary of her debut album. At this time, it remains unclear when her sophomore effort will arrive, but fans certainly hope to see a strong roster of collaborators again. On 777, she tapped the likes of 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Childish Gambino, and more to aid her.

Gotta prove yourself and show me what your purpose is

Janelle Monae Got Bars On “Float” Ft. Seun Kuti & Egypt 80

Janelle Monae has been busy in recent times but, unfortunately, she hasn’t dropped a ton of music. However, she hasn’t been in the cut, either. Last year, she appeared in the film, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which led to mass critical acclaim. The National Board of Review Award honored her in the Best Supporting Actress category. Around the same time, she won in the same category at The Atlanta Film Critics Circle Awards. Still, there’s been a strong demand for her to drop some new music.

It’s been nearly five years since she blessed fans with a new body of work. Monae dropped Dirty Computer in 2018. The 14-song effort boasted appearances from Pharrell Williams, Zoe Kravitz, Grimes, and Brian Wilson, leading to even more critical acclaim. Still, she didn’t leave fans empty handed. Throughout the past few years, she’s blessed fans with a handful of singles, like “Stronger” and “Say My Name (Hell You Talmbout).” The pair of singles as well as her Lady & The Tramp contribution, “That’s Enough,” have held fans over until she prepared her next body of work.

Janelle Monae Taps Sean Kuti & Egypt 80 For “Float”

Following a two-year hiatus from releasing music, Janelle Monae came through with some new heat for fans this week with the release of “Float.” The single marks her first drop since 2021 and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. Monae’s joined by Sean Kuti, the legendary son of Fela Kuti, and Egypt 80 for the record. Though her vocal prowess is on 10, she takes cues from hip-hop, dropping bars over rolling 808 hi-hats. “Float,” produced by Nana Kwabena, Nate “Rocket” Wonder, and Sensei Bueno, is a bouncy bop that’s bound to get stuck in your head.

The anticipation for the latest release from Janelle Monae is high. She first teased the record last year and the record will now be used for NBA coverage. Though she won’t be performing during All-Star Weekend, you’ll be able to catch her during the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Feb. 17th. Check her new single above.

Quotable Lyrics
Came back from the future to take all y’all niggas and take all y’all hoes
They said I was bi, yeah, baby, I’m bi, a whole ‘nother coast
She stay in the Hills, he stay in Atlanta, I paid for them both
My face card don’t come with a limit, I swipe it, I spend it, I swear I be doin’ the most

Yung Bleu Croons About “Games Women Play” In Valentine’s Day Single: Stream

So far this month, several hip-hop and R&B artists are impressing us with their new releases. Standout projects include Kash Doll and DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz cut, as well as Shy Glizzy’s Flowers. As for singles, we’ve markedly heard from the likes of G Perico, Masego, Daniel Caesar, and many more. The latest vocalist to turn out some heat is none other than Yung Bleu.

On Tuesday (February 14), the 28-year-old gave fans a Valentine’s Day treat in the form of “Games Women Play.” The new arrival follows the singer’s recent announcement that his Love Scars II effort is due to drop in April. Throughout his lyrics, Bleu mostly reflects on troubling experiences in love, and the emotions he felt as a result.

“And I’ll always think of you as that one that got away / My mind want you to leave, but, girl, my heart want you to stay,” he reflects as the first verse comes to a close. Things become more intense later on in the song.

“I know these women, they know how to play it / I ain’t no pretty boy, but tell me, who this durag by the bed?” he asks his lover during the second verse. “I’m jumpin’ off the ledge / It f*cked my head up, now I’m seein’ red, you better call the feds.”

Prior to sharing “Games Women Play,” Bleu dropped off his TANTRA project in late 2022. Across 17 titles, he connected with artists like Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo, and Kelly Rowland, just to name a few.

Hitkidd Drops Female Rap Posse Cut Single, “You The Type”

“F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” producer Hitkidd just released “You the Type” with Aleza, K Carbon, Slimeroni, and Gloss Up. Overall, it’s a fiery and hard-hitting trap cut with great energy from every single female MC. In fact, they’re all from GloRilla’s clique, with whom the producer made their breakout track last year. Furthermore, each rapper gets a moment of shine via short and sweet verses that don’t let the energy up. As far as the instrumental, it’s just as murderous and bass-heavy as you’d expect from a Memphis production. However, it feels particularly dramatic or menacing thanks to low piano chords and regal melodies.

Unfortunately, the “F.N.F.” collaborators had a small falling out a couple of months ago as GloRilla and Hitkidd discussed contract issues. However, the producer’s longtime business partner Kadeem Phillips provided a third perspective, albeit from Hitkidd’s camp. “Glo independently collects money for FNF its all hers she just doesnt own the song and never will,” he wrote. “We actually saved her from losing millions and Glo was able to get a deal without having to sell her independent record. FNF was created to help all the girls not for CMG.”

Still what did you think of this latest Memphis posse cut, “You the Type” with Hitkidd, Aleza, K Carbon, Slimeroni, and Gloss Up? However you feel, let us know in the comments and check out standout bars and the music video down below. Also, if you haven’t heard the track yet, you can find the loaded new song on your preferred streaming service. As always, come back to HNHH every week for the best new music releases.

Masego Shows Off His “Two Sides” On Latest Single: Listen

As he gears up to head out on tour later this spring, Masego is generating excitement amongst his fans with new music. In December, he made a noteworthy return with “You Never Visit Me.” Prior to that, we heard his voice shine on “Say You Want Me. The latter is due to appear on his forthcoming album.

On Friday (February 10), the 29-year-old chiefly caught our attention with his “Two Sides” single. The short and sweet song was produced by Albert Hype and his pal BASSCHARITY. While speaking with Rated R&B, Masego previously revealed the main inspiration for his latest release.

“I love games. Do I ever. ‘Two Sides’ make the next person that is involved with me aware of the demons that I’m trying to fight,” the Jamaica native said. “Geminis have a bad rep. And I was letting her know that I have the potential to move in this manner because of my past and hurt.”

Masego then went on, “There’s no silver lining in this song. It’s just like, ‘I could be a bad guy. I could get what I want with my slick words and my seductive beguiling ways.’”

“Two Sides” marks the singer’s first release of 2023, and sets the tone for his upcoming tour, kicking off in March. According to a press release, this isn’t all we’ll be hearing from the “Tadow” hitmaker over the next few weeks. More tunes are set to come as Masego prepares for his sophomore album, dropping via EQT Recordings and Capitol Records later this year.
