TDE Punch’s Aroomfullofmirrors Collective Drops New Single “105” Starring Daylyt & Freeway

Outside of being a big part of Top Dawg Entertainment’s operations, Punch also has another hip-hop venture that some may not be aware of. Back in January 2021, he formed a group of rappers and producers and called them aroomfullofmirrors. In April of that year, Punch spoke with Genius after releasing just their second single “RAWAR,” which caught the attention of a lot of fans. Then, he saw a lot of potential with this formation, saying, “It feels like the beginning of when we were starting TDE, the focus was completely on the art and developing. We’re really just building the whole art phase; it’s no limit to where it will go.” Speaking of we, the collective consists of MCs Daylyt, Nick Grant, Punch, Lyric Michelle, Earlee Riser, Jrias Law and then early TDE producer/artist Willie B (Ichiban Don), and Hari.

So far, they’ve gone on to release one LP and have remained active with loads of singles. Another one of the latter is here today, with Daylyt starring solo. However, he’s not alone in terms of outside guests, though. Freeway, a collaborator of Jay-Z’s, Beanie Sigel’s, and more, is also with him. Together, along with aroomfullofmirrors in spirit, are here with “105.” Named after the California interstate, both MCs rap with much passion and in an introspective manner. It’s a grand and celebratory-like single, but sadly, it’s only on YouTube as of now. Hopefully, it makes its way onto streaming soon, as well as a potential project. The rapping from both veteran acts is top-tier and it’s the perfect hype anthem for those needing some extra motivation.

D4vd Wonders “Where’d It Go Wrong?” On His New Single

Believe it or not, d4vd, Houston, Texas singer-songwriter, has not put out a debut album yet. He’s been in the industry for about three years now, but he’s held back from putting out a true LP. The “Romantic Homicide” artist does have a collection of EPs (Petals to Thorns, The Lost Petals, etc.) and whole slew of singles. But it seems he’s inching slightly closer to pulling the trigger with this new record, “Where’d it Go Wrong?” which hit streaming platforms this weekend.

According to Genius, it will be titled Withered, and a 2025 release looks to be the most realistic expectation right now. With that said, a specific day has yet to be revealed. But this song should tide fans over for a bit as it’s one of d4vd’s most personal ones to date. Part of the reason why is because according to Hypebeast, the 19-year-old Darkroom signee recorded this track at his childhood home in his closet. In terms of the equipment, he went back to his stripped back and raw roots by using BandLab and his iPhone. D4vd shared with the outlet how much it meant to him to lay down this single in this fashion. “This song reminded me why I’ve always loved making music on my own.” The passion is certainly there on all fronts, so make sure you check it out below.

And I don’t really want your love no more, I swear, ’cause I don’t need it
And I don’t mean to be conceited
But I’m the reason you’re still breathin’
I’ll stop picking up your calls, ’cause you won’t stop screamin’
Is it love or lust? I can tell you’re feenin’
And I don’t wanna hurt your feelings

NLE Choppa Continues To Expand His Range On Carey Washington Collab “Don’t Walk Away”

There was some speculation prior to today that NLE Choppa was going to drop a new project. Sluffin SZN was going to be the follow-up to SLUT SZN, an eight-song collection featuring some singles and his “SLUT ME OUT” series. However, due to unforeseen and unforetold circumstances, it’s going to be out on Christmas Eve instead. “NEW PROJECT DECEMBER 24th,” he wrote on Instagram earlier this week alongside a collage of photos from a music video shoot. The Memphis native also made a bold proclamation, writing, “This Generation Michael… Watch This 🥶

In some of the photos, he’s trying to his best interpretation of Michael Jackson’s famous lean dance stunt, all while wearing a familiar-looking leather jacket. Whether he’s calling himself that because of his new single, “Don’t Walk Away,” or for Sluffin SZN, is unclear. But what is evident is that he’s trying to become as big as the King of Pop by expanding his range and reach as an artist. This Carey Washington collab finds NLE getting into his moodier R&B side while also flashing some influences from sexy drill and Jersey club. So far, the track is garnering some mixed reactions from fans due to the drastic stylistic switch-up. However, we can appreciate Choppa’s willingness to grow, and we are intrigued to hear what he’s going to present on his fifth tape of 2024.

Me and you, share the floor
Take my hand for onе more dance

SZA Pours Out Her Emotions & Thoughts On Vibey “Drive” Ahead Of “Lana”

FULL DELUXE DROPS FIRST THING TOMORROW AM🫡,” SZA wrote on Instagram earlier this morning. “(Had to get my mixes right lol! All songs are delivered and Ingesting into the system as we speak🙂↕ pls be kind.. we been up for days).” It’s a bit of disheartening message to hear, but hopefully, it arrives within the next couple of hours. For now, though, the Missouri singer-songwriter is giving listeners a nice preview of what LANA will provide. “Drive” is officially out now on YouTube and it’s the track we got a taste of a couple of days ago. SZA posted a teaser for the track and music video starring her friend Ben Stiller on social media and fans were in love.

We are now hopping on the bandwagon as well because the track is beautiful, sad, and incredibly well written. Its chorus is incredibly catchy and one that will assuredly be belted out in the car by fans on their late-night drives. But it’s much more than a radio-friendly record. “Drive” finds SZA a bit lost as mentions the difficulties she’s having when it comes to being alone despite being a megastar. Moreover, she’s also trying to keep the course and find fulfillment and happiness, which is something that almost everyone can relate to. It’s a nice acoustic ballad and one that will quickly become a fan favorite. You can check it out below and you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear a snippet of “Crybaby” which will be on LANA as well.

But it don’t fill the void at all
And I promised my mom I’d do better
But they keep trying me so hard
With all the bulls*** and f*** it all

Rob49 Is Ready To Risk It All On Newest Single “On Sight”

Rob49 is keeping his voice fresh in everyone’s ears this year thanks to “On Sight.” It’s one of five solo cuts he’s put out this year and it’s to help out with the fact he’s yet to drop a project in 2024. We could be due for one in 2025 though given the steadiness at which he’s been releasing. For the most part, these recent records have been sticking to a certain vibe. Lately, Rob49 has been operating in the club bangers lane and “On Sight” is a continuation on that.

In this song’s case, he’s rapping about this girl he’s got his sights set on. The feelings he has are intense, raunchy, and sometimes a little overboard. For example, he raps, “Perkies in your a**, that’s some real Perc’ p**sy, uh (Phew).” It’s easily the most throwaway line on the track. However, besides that, it’s a wavy and high octane cut, even if it only lasts less than two minutes. It’s been another nice year for Rob49, as he’s worked with major players like Lil Wayne, Cardi B, and others. But 2025 could be a big stretch for him, especially if he drops another album.

I almost took you from your n**** and never gave you back (Never gave you back), man, yeah
Spoil you on the daily (Yeah), f***in’ you on the daily (Phew)
She give good brain like she graduated from Baylor (Yeah)

Burna Boy Begins New Album Rollout With Infectious Afrobeats Banger “Bundle By Bundle”

Veteran Afrobeats singer and rapper Burna Boy is beginning a new album campaign, and it’s off to a blistering start. The Nigerian act just shared “Bundle By Bundle” moments ago, and it’s already hitting for us. The instrumental is probably the highlight in our eyes, as it’s incredibly rhythmic, exhilarating, and dynamic. It’s a got a steady pace throughout, with some rapid-fire hits of pulsing bass and drums. It’s a great party track and it finds Burna Boy in a braggadocious mindset. He’s seen a lot of success and worldwide acclaim throughout the last decade, and he’s recognizing all of those wins here. As we said, he’s prepping a new LP, and to be exact, it will be his eighth.

According to a press release, the lead single will land on No Sign Of Weakness, with a release date of sometime in 2025. Hopefully, when the new calendar year begins, details will become more ironed out. When the new body of work arrives, it will follow up on his 2023 project, I Told Them… That was a major record for Burna Boy, as he went on to grab features from 21 Savage, J. Cole, Dave, RZA and DZA, and Byron Messia. While he’s ending the year on a fantastic note musically speaking, he’s also looks to be finding a new partner before the ball drops. Over the last 48 hours, Burna Boy has been seen out and about in Lagos with Chloe Bailey. She made her way out over the weekend, with several clips from the last two nights going viral. He’s stacking wins on wins “Bundle By Bundle” some would say.

Kalan.FrFr Is Seeing Right Through His Competitions’ Facades On “Dice Game”

California rapper and crooner Kalan.FrFr is issuing a fair warning to those who think they big and bad. The PSA appears on his latest release, “Dice Game,” his first solo single since April’s “EVERYBODY.” If you remember that track made its way onto May EP, MAKE THE WEST GREAT AGAIN, which landed almost week after Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” We mention that fact because the West Coast was at the peak of its powers when that dropped, and Kalan dropped at the perfect time. Unfortunately, due it being just an EP, it didn’t have as much staying power as it could’ve had. There are some rumblings that he’s prepping a new album behind the scenes. So, we will just have to wait and see when that hits.

Maybe then he will get more people talking and we know he can do that. He’s very capable of dropping some heat and “Dice Game” is an example of that. The track has a dark and intimidating energy, which is fitting given its themes and lyrics. On it, Kalan.FrFr feels that too many people out there are faking how up they really are. “N****s too tough around the b****es, that’s weird s*** / N****s thinkin’ that they low-key plotting, but we hear s***,” he raps with vigor on his second verse. The beat is also a major highlight for us as it possesses that traditional West Coast bounce and trunk-knocking bass. This is Kalan in his more aggressive bag, which is one that we like hearing him approach. He can go off when he wants to, and “Dice Game” should be something that he runs with going forward.

Amanda Reifer Feels Like A “Woman Now” On New Single

Amanda Reifer is coming out with her new album The Reifer Tapes very soon, and before we get that full treat, she’s giving us yet another appetizer. Moreover, the Barbadian singer and songwriter just released her latest single “Woman Now,” and it’s a much more dramatic and full-fledged piece of drama than her previous singles. These included the “B***h Like Me” intro, the “In And Out” and “Devastating” interludes, and the cut “Colonize.”

As for “Woman Now,” Sounwave, Take A Daytrip, and company’s production on here starts off on a ghostly, eerie note. High-pitched pianos, whistles, and airy pads sound like smoke coming through a window until the drums burst in and the melodies come more alive. Amanda Reifer does a great job of matching this sense of grandeur, tension, and conflict with an eccentric and stretched-out vocal performance. While it’s not the most original sound in the world in isolation, the fusions of these treatments and moods makes for a very engaging record. If this is what The Reifer Tapes will hold, then we’re in for a very unique experience.

Lyrically, “Woman Now” seems to focus on the push-and-pull of romance and whether or not Amanda Reifer can control herself from going after a potential partner. This track makes that conflict come alive in a pretty compelling way, even if what’s under the surface doesn’t sound all too complicated on paper. Then again, that’s exactly what passionate and engrossing songs like this aim to achieve in the first place.

Amanda Reifer’s “Woman Now”

Quotable Lyrics
Maybe I just fantasize this one,
Stay on my mind, thеn no damage done,
‘Cause no turning back if it’s onе-on-one,
Me on my back, then it’s done-and-done

Will Smith & Joyner Lucas Unite For New Single, “Tantrum”

Will Smith has teamed up with Joyner Lucas for a new single titled, “Tantrum.” The track marks the third release of the year for Smith, who has continued to refocus on his music career as of late. He’s also still gearing up for his first studio album since 2005, Dance in Your Darkest Moments. Alongside the new single, Smith and Lucas shared an animated music video for it. Lucas helped direct the video alongside Matthew Bordenave. Fans in the comments section on YouTube have been loving it. “I haven’t vibed to a Will Smith song in many years. This is fire,” one top response reads. Another adds: “This is the Will I grew up listening too. He’s finally taken that step he’s needed to take for so long with his music.”

Smith reflected on the impact music has had on him in a candid social media post, earlier this year. “Through some of my darkest moments, music has always been there for me — to lift me and help me grow,” Smith wrote on Instagram ahead of the release of “You Can Make It.” “It’s my humble wish that it can do the same for you and bring you all the joy and light you deserve.” Check out his latest offering, “Tantrum,” with Joyner Lucas below.

SAINt JHN Is “Glitching” And Tripping About Love On Latest Record

SAINt JHN, as many of you may know by now, never sticks to one sound for too long. He’s shown throughout his underrated career that he thrives wherever he places himself. Whether it be hip-hop, R&B, pop, or whatever direction he goes, he manages to do it with unique style and creativity. It’s landed him some awards, including a GRAMMY, for his efforts, in addition to some high-profile collaborations. Beyonce, Kanye West, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Lenny Kravitz, and Meek Mill are only the tip of the iceberg. With all of this praise and success, it’s no surprise that he’s still going strong this year. For context, it’s even more impressive considering he hasn’t put out an album since 2020.

Right now, he’s prepping for a new project, maybe before the end of 2024, or hopefully at the latest, early 2025. It’s going to be called Collection II: Fake Tears From a Popstar. That means it will be a follow-up to his debut LP in 2018, Collection One. So far, three possible singles have been put out and they include “Humble,” “Circles,” and “Body On Me.” Overall, All three have presented different genre explorations such alternative pop and Afrofusion. Now, SAINt JHN is moving into electronic/house/pop on “Glitching.” Overall, it’s a thrilling and high-energy listen as the Guyanese American act sings about a love that’s got him all discombobulated. SAINt JHN isn’t shying away from a challenge as this next tape will see him go all over the place, but we are ready for the ride.
