Tee Grizzley Recruits Flo Milli For Remix Of “Diana”

Tee Grizzley’s 2024 was one of his most creative and experimental years of his career. After making a name of hard-hitting and violent street anthems, the Detroit native decided to incorporate some new sounds and topical focuses on Post Traumatic. It’s his most recent album and it takes the deepest dive yet when it comes to varying approaches to tracks. He’s done some more R&B-like cuts over the years, for example, but all the stops were pulled out for this tape. We covered quite a few songs off of it when it initially released back in October.

But Tee Grizzley had decided to go back to it and redo a track that we never got to. That means we are also going with him and taking a look at “Diana.” Part of the reason we didn’t give it a listen was due to how forgettable it was, quite frankly. At just over a minute long, it definitely felt more like a snippet than a fully fleshed out idea. Well, he’s showing it some love this weekend by tapping Alabama pop rap hitmaker, Flo Milli. She adds a new third verse to the BNYX-produced rage-like track, essentially rapping from the female perspective of Tee’s story. That is how this woman has got such a hook him that he will doing anything for her. Whether its trips or expensive gifts, Flo Milli (in this case) is on the receiving end. Check it out with the link below.

Kalan.FrFr Assembles The West Coast Avengers For Stacked “Everybody (Remix)”

Kalan.FrFr was on a mission to MAKE THE WEST GREAT AGAIN in the first quarter of 2024. The eight-track project featured a handful of California’s most prominent figures, including Ty Dolla $ign and YG. However, he also called on acts from the Midwest like G Herbo to help his cause. Unfortunately, it’s a project that sort of came and went for us. But still it was nice to get something from Kalan during this resurrection of the West Coast. It’s been a big year for the entire region and business was especially booming in the spring/summer months. But Kalan.FrFr is making sure the success continues into the end of 2024 with the release of “EVERYBODY (Remix).”

This was initially a single for MAKE THE WEST GREAT AGAIN that was solely his. But for this remix, he’s merely playing organizer, as he’s limited to handling the chorus which is unchanged. When we mention organizer, it’s not just for three or four features. No, Kalan.FrFr called on 11(!) rappers from his area. Thanks to a press release, we have the scoop on everyone you will hear on this record. 310babii, OHGEESY, BlueBucksClan, John Mackk, and G Perico are the first half. Then, RJMrLA, Rucci, Heembeezy, CUZZOS, Wallie the Sensei, and CheffBoy round out the rest. So yes, it’s an ensemble performance to a tee and everyone’s bringing something to the table. Overall, it’s cool to see artists put these sorts of things together, and to get everyone pretty equal time is just as impressive. Check out the remix for Kalan’s “EVERYBODY” with the YouTube audio link below.

Kurtis Blow Modernizes His Classic Single “Basketball” With The Help Of Hit-Boy & Lola Brooke

When you think of iconic rap songs from the 1980’s one of them undoubtedly should be “Basketball” by Kurtis Blow. The track was a perfect encapsulation of the excitement surrounding the NBA and the sport at large. It’s stood the test of time for as long as it possibly could have, as it is now a little over 40 years old. With that in mind, the fact we have a new version for the modern NBA era is a special treat. Kurtis Blow and DoorDash’s DashPass program linked up to concoct “BASKETBALL 2.0,” which features Hit-Boy and Lola Brooke.

The reason DashPass is involved is because they are now the official partners of the NBA and WNBA. Hit-Boy handles the production only here, with Lola popping in halfway through to shout out the superstars in the W as well. Blow mentions names like LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Anthony Davis, among others. It’s extremely nostalgic despite it just releasing and it’s just a cool moment overall to this go down. Hit-Boy’s sister and rapper HitgirlLena recreates the iconic chorus, making sure all of the key elements of the original are still intact. There’s also a music video for the single, and it takes place in the “Mecca of basketball,” New York City. It’s shot at a local basketball park with Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart making cameos in the visual. Check out “BASKETBALL 2.0” by Kurtis Blow, Hit-Boy, and Lola Brooke with the link below.

Rising Chicago Drill Teen MC STAR BANDZ Recruits Veeze For Remix Of Hit “Yea Yea”

In one of the hottest corners of hip-hop, a new star is being born. 16-year-old Chicago drill femcee, STAR BANDZ, is making quite the name for herself in a short period. She launched her professional career in 2022 at 14(!) and since then, her small catalog has accumulated tens of millions of streams already. One of her tracks that is responsible for this immediate growth is her viral March single, “Yea Yea”. While it expectedly suffers from some mixing issues –especially on the vocals–, it’s an impressive display of energy and blistering flows. Her youthful confidence has grabbed the attention of multiple big players in the industry such as Kehlani, Chance the Rapper, G Herbo, and more.

STAR BANDZ can now add Detroit MC Veeze to that growing list of supporters because their remix of “Yea Yea” is here now. The song doesn’t lose any of her electrifying and animated verses. Instead, it just plops in a solid verse from the new kid on the block in the Midwest. This is arguably her biggest collaboration to date, unless you factor in her opening for Luh Tyler’s Mr. Skii tour. STAR BANDZ is like that and we are excited for her bright future in rap, as well as in the competitive Chicago scene.

The Kid LAROI Adds Gunna To Remix Of “BABY I’M BACK”

The Kid LAROI had fans waiting for his debut album, THE FIRST TIME, for quite a while. He acknowledged this fact with his fans on Instagram ahead of its release, thanking them for their unwavering support. “Thank you for sticking around this long and im sorry that sometimes it’s hard being a supporter of mine. I’ve had a lot of different experiences these past couple of years and life has been nothing short of insane… Extremely grateful that I get to share this stuff with you all. I wouldn’t be anything without y’all so thank you again. I love you all beyond words”. After getting this project, it’s safe to say that the Australian multi-talent is making up for lost time. He just dropped off the deluxe last month, and now, The Kid LAROI is back with another release with Gunna.

They are combining their crossover abilities to deliver a remix of “BABY I’M BACK”, an alternate version of one of the deluxe cuts. Not much changes structurally or instrumentally, outside of Gunna’s verse now being the second, with LAROI’s now being the third. If you haven’t heard the first “BABY I’M BACK”, the track samples Player’s classic soft rock track, “Baby Come Back”. Check out the rendition below.

310babii Recruits Saweetie For Alternate Version Of Smash Hit “Rock Your Hips”

310babii is continuing to build on the success of his viral single “soak city”. The Inglewood, California native has definitely put any and all one-hit wonder claims to shame, especially since dropping other tracks like “pink whitney”, the “soak city” remix with OhGeesy & BlueBucksClan, and now “rock your hips”. The latter is one of his 2024 singles, as well as one of the lead off tracks for his February 23 LP, nights and weekends. The project went on to feature multiple California natives such as Kalan.FrFr, 03 Greedo, Tyga, Blueface, and more. Now, that West Coast collaboration portfolio is growing for 310babii with the release of the “rock your hips” remake with Saweetie.

The 18-year-old didn’t stop there, though. He dropped this track with several other renditions of this remix. You can also bump “sped up”, “slowed down”, “instrumental”, and a clean version. The “rock your hips” collab also has a fun and quirky music video, with 310babii learning how to play golf. His coach instructs that he needs to “rock your hips like Shakira” to get a good swing off the tee box. When he does this, he gets a hole and one immediately. There’s some choreography during Saweetie’s part which could led to a dance craze on TikTok. If you’re looking for fun summer song to bump in the whip or at outdoor parties, then “rock your hips” is for you. You can check out the remix with Saweetie with the music video link below.

Rob49 Adds GloRilla To His Skilla Baby-Assisted Hit “Mama”

Rob49, Skilla Baby, and GloRilla have all been tearing it up over the last year and change. It feels like each artist has really come into their own and are dropping the best material of their careers so far. Because of their boosts in popularity, it seems like each week they are on a new single or album. In terms of notable accomplishments for each one of them, here’s probably their biggest. For GloRilla, its tough. But ultimately we are going to choose her new mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang. It has multiple hits as well as some of her best beat selection to date. For Skilla Baby, it has to be The Coldest. It’s his biggest project with loads of co-signs from some the brightest stars.

Finally, for Rob49, it might have to go to his collaboration with Lil Wayne. Being able to work with a fellow Louisiana legend this early into his career is nothing to sneeze at. All of these milestones are why it makes so much sense for all three of these rappers to come together on one record. That would happen to be Rob49’s hit single, “Mama”, which originally featured Tay B, but now has GloRilla. This means it’s a remix, but a slight one at that. The beat and verses from Rob and Skilla remain intact. The only change is that the Memphis femcee has her own set of bars.

She takes on the role of the women that the two male artists are talking about getting with one the song. It creates a predictable but highly-applicable dynamic. The lines with “dada” in them are funny and add a little bit of extra character to the straight-forward trap banger. You check out the GloRilla “Mama (Remix)” with the link down below.

But I can’t lie, it’s cеrtain n****s that I don’t make stand on s***, ooh (Period)

Don’t call me by my name, dada
Might go buy you that Draco and let you put it in my name, dada (Uh)

Amine Shows His Love For Charli XCX With “360.5”

In the hip-hop world, we usually dub the sweltering months of the year “hot girl summer” thanks to Megan Thee Stallion. However, in the pop realm, they are dubbing this time as “brat summer”. You can attribute that to English superstar Charli xcx. Her recent album BRAT is one of the strongest records of the year in any genre, as she continues to dominate her field. So many songs off the project are popping off right now such as “Apple”, “Von dutch”, and “365”. But by a wide margin, “360” is leading the way as it has over 110.4 million streams on Spotify. Apparently, Amine is a huge fan of hers, because he is embracing being a brat on his new single “360.5”.

This is essentially a rap remix to it, as the original beat, which is produced by A. G. Cook and Cirkut, is reused here. Additionally, Amine keeps the runtime pretty identical to the 2:11 that Charli utilizes. In typical fashion, he brings a lot of charisma and comedic qualities to the track both through the lyrics and visuals. Speaking of the latter, the Portland, Oregon multi-hyphenate appears to have filmed the music video on his phone from the comfort of his pad he’s staying at in Ischia, Italy. Overall, he shreds the beat, and it makes sense why he hopped a quirky beat like this one.

I’m off a lotta s***, yes, I’m faded

4batz’s Profile Grows Larger, Lands USHER Feature For “Act IV: Fckin U Again (18+)”

4batz’s career is still very fresh, but his current reputation is not that great it seems. Ever since “act ii: date @ 8” blew up, fans and critics alike have been harshly critiquing the Dallas, Texas native at every turn. The industry plant and one-hit wonder are labels that continue to be ways to describe his stature in the industry. Additionally, music reviewers were not fond of u made me a st4r, to say the least. Whether the backlash is fair or not, it certainly has not phased the R&B young buck. His resilient mindset has allowed him to work with some of the biggest stars on the planet. Drake and Kanye West had the first two cracks at it, as they assisted on renditions of two tracks from the debut. Now, USHER is getting in on the remix game with 4batz for “act iv”.

Overall, this new version is quite a departure from the original “act iv: fckin u (18+)”. 4batz recorded an entirely new verse that is also much longer. It certainly gives the song more of a backbone, and with the record having an extra minute’s worth of material, the instrumental is also more drawn out. USHER does a pretty solid job of getting into the groove, as he does find a pocket pretty early on. 4batz’s boy-ish vocals do still take time adjusting to, but “fckin u again” is arguably the best remix out of the three.
