Lil Tjay And Kyle Richh Are Feeling Betrayed On “I Should’ve Known”

Bronx, NY rapper Lil Tjay is back with his first single since the release of his last album, 222. That project dropped a few months ago -July to be exact- and now he is beginning to release new material. This is the first time he is working with another New York native, Kyle Richh. It is a little surprising this is the lone collaboration we have from them considering both have similar styles.

Nonetheless, we have a chance now to see how the two mesh. How do they do in that department? We would say both Tjay and Richh sound like they belong on more songs together. Richh’s deeper voices contrasts well with Tjay’s higher pitch.

Listen To “I Should’ve Known” From Lil Tjay And Kyle Richh

The themes in this song are ones of betrayal and loneliness. Both perform over a drill beat which both are no strangers to. Lil Tjay refers back to the time he was shot at. He raps, “B**** you was there (Grah) / Made you duck in the chair / You know n****s wan’ kill me (Kill me).” It is nothing new for either rapper but it does its job at conveying what it wants to.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single from Lil Tjay and Kyle Richh, “I Should’ve Known?” Do you think this is going to be a loosie or a single for an upcoming album? Who had the best performance on the track? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Sampha Recreates What It Feels Like To See Someone You Have Missed On “Dancing Circles”

Sampha has a gift that not many other artists in general have. He has a knack for being able to connect the listeners to the stimulations and feelings he wants to recreate. This remains true on one of the songs off of his sophomore album, Lahai. The six-year wait is finally over and it is safe to say that Sampha’s patience and meticulousness paid off. “Dancing Circles” sees the London singer explaining how it feels to talk to someone you have not seen in some time.

Many people will undoubtedly relate to this. Whatever the reasons are, sometimes even the people closest to us can sometimes drift far apart. But, when you do get to see them and talk for hours with them it feels great to reconnect. That is what Sampha is trying to convey on this track.

Listen To “Dancing Circles” From Sampha

In an interview with Apple Music, he broke down what the meaning behind the song is and how it came to be. Sampha says, “I sort of freestyled some lyrics and came up with the dancing refrain.” He goes on, “Then [I] had this idea of someone having a conversation with someone they hadn’t seen in a long time, and just remembering how good it is, how good it felt to dance with them.” The production is also fitting for the track as it builds tension. But, it is not uncomfortable. It is a feeling of excitement that you finally get to see the person again that you have missed so much.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new song from Sampha off of Lahai, “Dancing Circles?” Is this your favorite song for right now? Is he one of the best at making his listeners feel connected to the story he is trying to tell? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. City Girls & Muni Long Want You To Face Your “Emotions”

The City Girls took their time with their latest album (the first since 2020 gave us the iconic City On Lock), but based on the early reviews, the wait was worth it. On Friday (October 20), JT and Yung Miami confidently returned to the rap game with RAW, which finds both rap divas channelling their signature bad bitch attitudes with the help of plenty of noteworthy collaborators. They initially teased the 18-track effort with singles like “Good Love” featuring Usher, as well as “I Need A Thug,” “Face Down,” and “Pinata.”

Among those who joined the Florida natives in the studio over the past few months are Lil Durk, Juicy J, and Kim Petras. We also heard from Muni Long on “Emotions,” which we’re spotlighting for your listening pleasure today. The R&B darling opens up the NOVA WAV-produced effort with her stunning voice. “Wanna know how it feels / To have somethin’ that’s mine, mine, all mine / Give me love, give me chills / Every time I ride, ride, ride, ride,” she sensually sings.

City Girls Finally Drop Their RAW Album

For her verse, Caresha makes it clear that she has no problem remaining unattached from the men in her life. “I could f**k another ni**a on the lowkey / Ain’t s**t to hit a ni**a with a okey,” she teases. Later on, JT comes through with salacious rhymes of her own. “Get the voicemail, I’m callin’ again / Play with my mind, I’m scratchin’ up Benz,” Lil Uzi’s lover threatens. “Tell your mama mind her business / And your sister, she can get it.”

Listen to Muni Long’s vocals alongside JT and Yung Miami’s bars on “Emotions” above. If you’re feeling that collab, you can tap into the City Girls’ full RAW album on Spotify/Apple Music. For more HNHH release recommendations, tap back in with us later this weekend.

The kick drums and 808s are extremely crisp, just as you would expect from Mr. Glock.

Bad Bunny’s First Week Sales Lower Than Projected, Offset & Ken Carson Do Impressive Numbers

October has undeniably been one of the biggest months that rap has had in 2023 so far, namely due to the long-awaited arrival of Drake’s For All The Dogs. When the father of one finally put that out for his fans, many others felt more comfortable sharing their work, knowing they wouldn’t disappear beneath Drizzy. The next weekend, Bad Bunny shared his surprise LP, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Manana, which was initially projected to sell 200 – 225K copies in its first week out.

On Friday (October 20), the final numbers came in, revealing that Benito fell short of Hits Daily Double‘s estimate by a few thousand. Instead, his album moved 8K in pure sales plus 174K in streaming, totalling 183K. Elsewhere in the world of hip-hop, Offset impressed us by selling 70K album-equivalent units of his latest solo project, SET IT OFF. Far more of his came from pure sales (26K) than we saw with Bunny, crediting just 43K to streaming.

Wu-Tang Clan Come Together For “Claudine” With Nicole Bus And Mathematics

Legendary rap posse Wu-Tang Clan is back with a brand-new single for the first time in a long time. In fact, it has technically been three years since their last single, “Hi.” It did receive a remix in 2021 with UNKLE. Other than that though, the New York group has stood silent. Sadly, it does not feature a ton of the members, but Method Man and Ghostface Killah do make appearances.

On the Wu-Tang Clan’s Instagram account, they began teasing a comeback of sorts. It began a little over a day ago with them sharing the cover art of the track. “Claudine coming Friday.. the saga continues..” This message confused some fans. One person said, “Is this a song, a whole album, or a movie?” Another shared the same sentiment, “Is this a f*****g record?” The cover was uploaded in black and white.

Shortly after, it donned a yellow and black color palette. Finally, on the day of its release, Wu-Tang shared the official artwork. “Claudine” also features some nice guest singing from Nicole Bus. Additionally, Mathematics brings soulful production into the mix. It is more of an emotionally charged track that talks about wishing you could spend more time with the people you care about. Those lyrics are very prevalent in Ghostface and Nicole’s sections.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new Method Man and Ghostface Killah track, “Claudine,” featuring Nicole Bus and Mathematics? Who had the best performance on this song? Jay Rock And Ab-Soul Collab For The First Time In Eight Years On “Blowfly”

If we told you that two collaborators who are part of a rap group together hardly ever put out music, would you believe us? Well, hopefully, you did because that is the case with Jay Rock and Ab-Soul. The posse they are in is Black Hippy and it includes Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q as well. Jay and Ab have not hit the studio since Rock’s 2015 record, 90059.

Ironically, it was the track that Jay got his other three members together for “Vice City.” Since then, he and Ab-Soul have not made a song. Now, the drought finally ends with another single from Eastside Johnny*, “Blowfly.” Jay announced this on his Instagram a couple of days ago. “Me and my brotha @souloho3 coming with some heat this Friday 😤 Y’all better get ready for this!! 💯💯 #ESJ#TDE#Blowfly.”

Listen To “Blowfly” From Jay Rock And Ab-Soul

We did propose that this could be one of the best singles of the year. The reason is, that both of them can rap and bring unique flows. However, at least on first listen, it does not totally live up to expectations. One of the biggest downsides to the track is that Ab-Soul performs the hook and that is it. Jay handling the verses is fine, but it would have been great to hear both have verses. Let us know what you think by giving it a spin.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single from Jay Rock and Ab-Soul, “Blowfly?” Is this the best single from Rock’s upcoming album, Eastside Johnny*? Are you happy or disappointed with how Rock and Ab-Soul made this song, especially after a long gap of no collaborations? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this.
