“Cardi B Is Back,” Fans Declare On Twitter, She Promises Announcement Tomorrow

For what feels like forever, fans begged Cardi B to drop new music, and she kept teasing a full solo return. Sure, she’s dropped plenty of collaborative singles, features, and things of that nature, but never a full new album rollout as of yet. However, that apparently might change soon, if the Bardi Gang on Twitter is to be believed. We know that’s a tough sell, but within minutes and like wildfire, rumors spread of a new single announcement from the rapper. Of course, she contributed to this by promising an announcement tomorrow.

In addition, this is far from the first time that speculation like this exploded, whether from Cardi B herself or otherwise. For example, social media recently turned their heads when reports suggested she’s working on a new collab with Megan Thee Stallion. Such a release would mark a big return for the Houston artist as well, and they have the massive hit “WAP” before that. As such, there’s a sub-sect of fans that hope the next single is a reunion between these two femcees.

Regardless, in a recent Vogue Mexico cover story, the 30-year-old opened up about her next musical moves. “I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single,” Cardi B expressed. “Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon. I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do everything I can: fashion, branding, I want to do it all, honey.”

An Announcement Is Coming Tomorrow

Meanwhile, these types of teases fired her fans up like never before. With each new rumor or instance of “CARDI IS BACK” trending on Twitter (which fans achieved this time), expectations ramp up. We’ll see how she meets them very soon, hopefully. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Cardi B.

Timbaland Reunites With Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake On Our “R&B Season” Playlist

Seeing as it’s a long weekend, there’s really no reason why you can’t take at least a few minutes out of your Sunday to stream the latest songs on our R&B Season playlist. To kick things off we have the title track from Jorja Smith’s highly anticipated falling or flying LP, which will mark her first full-length release in five years. The UK-born songbird has been sharing singles from the project with us for months now, beginning with “Try Me” and “Little Things” before returning mid-summer with “GO GO GO.”

This week’s round-up also includes the latest from SAFE, called “Rent Free” which hit DSPs on Friday (September 1) along with a sped-up and slowed-down version for your listening pleasure. As far as collaborations go, we saw some huge artists reconnect for the first time in years on the feel-good “Keep Going Up.” Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake have long been teasing another joint effort after finding massive success in past decades together. Here’s hoping this isn’t the last we hear from the iconic musical trio this year.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist

Another unexpected (but incredible) duo we’re spotlighting today on R&B Season is Teezo Touchdown and Janelle Monae. The renowned rapper and vocalist joined forces for “You Thought,” which has already become a favourite for us thanks to their undeniably unique creative efforts. Following that is our final weekend pick. It comes from Queen Naija, who recruited NBA YoungBoy to join her on “No Fake Love.”

The memorable single begins with Naija’s sweet vocals, and eventually transitions into the Louisana superstar reflecting on some of his own past mistakes in relationships throughout his verse. Stream all of our latest R&B Season favourites exclusively on Spotify above. Which of the genre’s artists are you most looking forward to hearing from as we move into fall and winter? Listen To “Rando” From TisaKorean

“Rando” is sort of random in the fact that there is really no direction for the song. Unless you look at it as a party song strictly, then it does its job. The beat might be strange to most, but it is right in TisaKorean’s wheelhouse. It is very intoxicating and the melody will work its way into your head quickly. Korean’s vocal work is always different and it makes the song a fun listen.

ICYTWAT Puts Out YouTube And SoundCloud Exclusive Track “AWGE SH!T”

Brandon Banner, also known as ICYTWAT, is back with a brand-new single. Unfortunately, for many, it is not available on the powerhouse streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. His new song, “AWGE SH!T,” is out on his YouTube page and SoundCloud account. The track is extremely short that it could be considered a snippet too. The song is one minute and 15 seconds in length, but it hits hard right from the beginning.

The song starts with some plucky strings that manage to give off this chilling vibe. After about 10 seconds the beat hits you like a semi-truck with pulsing 808s and kick drums. It fires off like a machine gun and then ICY comes in to rap over the production. He provides his signature Playboi Carti-esque inflection and flow, which makes sense because these two have worked together before.

Right around the time Carti was blowing up on SoundCloud with his material and his debut Playboi Carti, ICY was coming up with him. The recording artist and record producer from Chicago, Illinois, also pulled inspiration from listening to Bastard by Tyler, the Creator, according to Genius. Like “AWGE SH!T,” the beats he creates are ethereal and bass-heavy trap instrumentals. Besides Carti, he has produced for A$AP ANT, MadeinTYO, and more.

What are your initial thoughts on this new song, “AWGE SH!T,” by ICYTWAT? Is he a pioneer of the underground/Soundcloud rap scene? Which song is your favorite of his? Real Bad Man And Blu Drop Their First Collaborative Album “Bad News”

Producing team and street clothing brand Real Bad Man are back with their second album of 2023. This time it is another collaboration with another lyrically adept rapper. That MC is Inglewood, California’s Blu, who is known best for one of the best albums of the early 2000s, Below The Heavens. This album, Bad News, is the fifth team effort from Real Bad Man believe it or not. Two of them are with Boldy James, Killing Nothing (2022) and Real Bad Boldy (2020).

Additionally, Smoke DZA nabbed an opportunity in 2022 with Mood Swings. Finally, Serpent, the other project from this year, featured Kool Keith on every track. Now, it is Blu’s turn to work with Real Bad Man. Fortunately, but not surprisingly, this combo succeeds with ease. The tracklist is tight, just like the rest of Bad Man’s catalog, with just eight and it is just under 23 minutes.

There were two singles ahead of the release of Bad News. “Aladdin” was the solo track with only Blu and it features impeccable bars and an odd and creepy beat. “The Golden Rule” with C.L. Smooth was put out next and that contained some jazzy production. Overall, this album is another great addition for each artist involved. It is easily one of the best lyrical rap albums of 2023 and might be in the top ten or five by the end of the year.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new album, Bad News, from Blu and Real Bad Man? Which track is your favorite here? Tobi Lou And FARADA Add “Losing You” To “Caturday” EP

Nigerian-born rapper and singer tobi lou just a week ago dropped a new EP called Caturday. It was a short, four-track project featuring some nice production from frequent collaborator, FARADA. The duo has quite an extensive list of songs together due to their two team efforts on their projects from just earlier this year. ‘Decent and Baggy Weather (Mini Version) were released two months apart, with the latter containing no features. Caturday contains no guests too and is an R&B and rap outing for these two.

However, tobi lou and FARADA are adding another track called “Losing You.” In addition, the EP has an alternate title too, Why Do It Feel Like I’m Losing You. It essentially takes on the title of the new song and is also the first track on the EP. The order from Caturday stays the same: 1. “Caturday” 2. “Meteorite” 3. “Roller Coaster” 4. “Fee.”

Listen To “Losing You” From Tobi Lou And FARADA

“Losing You” adds on to some of the themes and moods of the other tracks. This one talks about a relationship that is hanging on by a thread. Internal and external noise is splitting the two apart. FARADA’s beat contains spicy synths, trap percussion, and smooth 808s. Lou’s lyrics and delivery are a nice pairing and it could be the best track now from Caturday/Why Do It Feel Like I’m Losing You.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track, “Losing You,” by Tobi Lou and FARADA? Is this the best song from the EP? Do you think these two should continue to work together in the future? Lil Wayne Serves Up “Kat Food” On The Latest “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

September started off on a high note thanks to a New Music Friday loaded with hot releases from some of the biggest names in hip-hop. Above all else, we were happiest to hear from Lil Wayne yesterday on his “Kat Food” single, which took the No. 1 spot on our Fire Emoji update. The Louisana native teased the track on social media in the days leading up to its release, and we’ve been playing it consistently since it first landed on DSPs. Speaking of felines, Doja Cat also had a new song for us ahead of her highly anticipated Scarlet album.

As she continues to see “Paint The Town Red” find massive success on the charts, the California native showed us her “Demons” this month. In the song’s accompanying visual, Doja looks more chilling than ever in her sinister body makeup, though her lyricism is earning mass praise across social media. Interestingly, she and Lil Wayne have both been named as performers for the upcoming MTV VMAsm and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in the fall.
