Kanye West’s New Album Distribution Might Become Rick Ross’ Responsibility

The last time Kanye West attempted to roll out an album, the process was nothing short of tumultuous. Of course, at this point, the rapper’s fanbase has become accustomed to regular delays and cancellations from their favourite artist, who’s been hinting at something cooking up over the past few months. He and Ty Dolla Sign have reportedly been planning for a massive performance in Italy, though that was postponed earlier this week. Amid that news, reports of West having a difficult time finding a distributor for his next LP have been spreading rapidly.

Even with all the trouble he’s landed himself in over his comments on the Jewish community, the 46-year-old still has friends willing to stick their neck out for him. Among them is Rick Ross, who publicly expressed an interest in signing West to his Maybach Music Group label. “Imagine if Ye came and allowed MMG to distribute his new project,” the “Purple Lamborghini” hitmaker reflected.

Rozay Seeks to Help Kanye West Release His Music

“Imagine that. What’s your favorite Rick Ross, Ye collab? Imagine that. Imagine the artistic drive. And I got some amazing ideas for the Yeezy brand. Amazing ideas for the Yeezy brand! Let’s speak,” Ross said in a video on his Instagram Story earlier this week. As the Southern superstar also pointed out, he and West have put out some incredible collaborations over the years, including “Devil in a New Dress” and “Monster” from the fashion designer’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy LP.

Considering all the controversy Kanye West has found himself wrapped up in throughout his career, we’re not exactly surprised that he’s having so much difficulty finding a willing distributor for his next project – no matter how highly anticipated it is. Reflect on some of the father of four’s most memorable (but not entirely flattering) moments in the spotlight at the link below. What’s your favourite collaboration between Ye and Rozay? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Sampha Delivers Tons Of Personal Bouts On Sophomore Album “Lahai”

Morden, South London singer and songwriter Sampha is an extremely elusive artist. However, fans are always willing to wait however long it needs to be to get new music from him. In this case, six years have gone by since the release of his debut tape, Process. That album won the coveted Mercury Prize, which is the award for the best album to come from the UK or Ireland. He might be in contention for that honor yet again with his sophomore album, Lahai. What set that record apart from the rest was its ability to tell emotional stories of isolation.

Lahai is sort of a follow-up in a way to these previous feelings. According to Sampha’s Apple Music interview, he shows that he is beginning to recover from all of the loss and anxieties he was dealing with. Hence the previous album was titled the way it was. He says, “I don’t necessarily live by what I’m saying but there’s times where I recognize that I need to reconnect to family and friends—times where I can really lose connection by being too busy with my own things.”

Kevin Abstract Asks Fans “What Should I Do” On His Latest Song

One of part of the alternative hip-hop boy band BROCKHAMPTON, Kevin Abstract, is getting close to dropping his first solo album in four years. However, if saw our article on the last Kevin song, you would know that he is going in a different direction. “Blanket,” which is also the name of his next project, was barely if not at all a cohesive song. It consists of a very short verse and chorus.

However, this latest single, “What Should I Do?” is fully fleshed out. We have longer verses and a theme in the lyrics. What is interesting about this track is some of the people who collaborated with Kevin. If you check out the Genius annotation, you will see that it features some background vocals from pop singer Sabrina Carpenter.

Furthermore, if you take a peek at the production credits, there are some big names behind the acoustic and folky-sounding production. One of which is Romil Hemnani. If you know your BROCKHAMPTON, he is one of the producers for the former group. It is nice to see him contribute to Kevin’s solo career. Lastly, joining the fray is Jonah Abraham. He has made plenty of big songs for artists like Playboi Carti. This will be the eighth track on Kevin’s LP and it will be out on November 3.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new single from Kevin Abstract, “What Should I Do?” Is this the better of the two tracks from his upcoming album, Blanket? Hotboii Teams Up With Producer ATL Jacob For New Track “NASA”

One of Florida’s many up-and-coming rap talents has just put out a brand-new single. Orlando, Flordia MC Hotboii is back with his first real solo single of 2023. We say real because back on April 14 he put out a remix to one of his most popular songs. That track, “WTF,” was released last year and it got a Polo G feature added to it. Other than that, Hotboii’s solo output was nowhere to be heard.

However, that mostly has to do with the fact that he was charged with two things: Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization – Racketeering and Conspiracy to Commit Racketeering connection to a larger RICO investigation. This is according to XXL and is now able to be freed on a $750,000 bond as of July 13, 2021. Additionally, as of now, there is no word on a projected date of release. In the music video below there is even a message that says, “Free Hotboii.”

This song is about shooting for the stars and going for your goals and dreams. Hotboii has some heavy influence from other Florida legends like Kodak Black. He possesses a similar nasally and warbly voice to him. From what fans say this track was leaked quite awhile ago, but it is now available on DSPs. Give it a spin above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new song from Hotboii and ATL Jacob, “NASA?” Is this one of Hotboii’s best songs in recent memory? Cardi B Previews New Music

Cardi B previewed some unreleased music on social media, earlier this week. The stream comes as she continues to work on her highly-anticipated sophomore album. When The Neighborhood Talk shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed responses to the song.

“When are ppl and the industry/media gonna be honest about Cardi?” one hater wrote. “She’s the most coddled artist in history and doesn’t even have the talent to deserve the grace she’s been given. Other actual talented artists have been dragged for a lot less.” Another added: “All her music sound like pandemic raps. You can tell they were made years ago.”

Cardi B has been building to the release of her next album for years at this point. She dropped her critically acclaimed debut, Invasion of Privacy, back in 2018. She recently explained the reason for the delay while appearing on Ebro in the Morning. “Then on top of that, everything just has to be like perfect from everything because I feel like people are expecting so much,” she said. “For my first album, I didn’t get to do not even half the things I wanted to do because I was super super duper pregnant. I missed out on a lot of videos I wanted to do, I missed out on touring — I just missed out on a lot of things, so I just gotta make sure that everything is just planned out.” She also confirmed the project will drop sometime in 2024.
