Lil Yachty has definitely been one of the MVPs of hip-hop for 2023. Overall, his reign started when he came through with Let’s Start Here back in February. He has since followed this up with a plethora of fantastic singles. Furthermore, he has been working with Drake a whole lot. He helped shape the sound of For All The Dogs. Moreover, he was on the track “Another Late Night,” which certainly helped ingratiate him with fans. He is having an amazing year, and people are taking notice.

With Yachty having such an amazing moment, fans have been curious about what he will end up doing next. As it turns out, a new single was on his to-do list. It feels like he has been dropping something new every week. That is not far off as on Friday, he gave us “Lotus Flower Bomb.” This track has production from Cash Cobain, which is certainly a nice touch. Overall, it is another lowkey psychedelic track that furthers Yachty’s new artistic direction.

Brent Faiyaz Announces Feature-Packed New Album Dropping Tonight

Last year, Brent Faiyaz released his critically acclaimed album WASTELAND. The major undertaking saw him recruiting artists like Drake, Tyler, The Creator, Alicia Keys, The Neptunes, and more. The album spawned two of his biggest hits to date “ALL MINE” and “JACKIE BROWN.” While Faiyaz has been dropping some new singles this year, most fans didn’t expect to have another new album any time soon. But earlier today Faiyaz confirmed that it’ll be here a LOT sooner than many thought.

Brent Faiyaz announced his new album LARGER THAN LIFE which drops in just a few hours. The album will feature 14 tracks, a slimming down from its 19-track predecessor. Once again he’s bringing some major features along with him. A$AP Rocky, Missy Elliott, Coco Jones, Babyface Ray, and N3WYRKLA are just some of the artists who will appear on the project. Brent Faiyaz Surprise Dropping Album

The first of the two singles set to appear on the album is “Moment Of Your Life” which dropped back in August. The song sees Brent teaming up with R&B singer Coco Jones whose breakthrough hit “ICU” began climbing the charts earlier this year. A month later Faiyaz dropped the second single “WY@.” The track clicked with fans immediately and has already racked up over 12 million streams on Spotify in just over a month.

One person who isn’t on the mixtape that fans might have been inspecting is Sexyy Red. Red and Faiyaz hit the studio together in between the release of the two singles. But if they worked on any music in that process it either isn’t ready for release yet or is due to end up on a later project. However, the last time we heard music from the artist was in 2017 with 4:44. In the eyes of many, this is a project that could be considered his best and most personal. It was an eye-opening body of work that showcased just how much Jay still has it. Since then, fans have waited for an album, but nothing has dropped.

Recently, Jay-Z sat down with Gayle King for a conversation about his life and career. As you may expect, the conversation eventually shifted over to his music and whether or not he was interested in dropping something new. Overall, Jay would be down to come out with a new project. Although it has to be something meaningful. In the clip below, Jay explains that making music for the sake of it just isn’t something that he wants to do at this stage of his career or his life.

“I already [used the word ‘retirement’], I can’t do that ever again,” Jay explained. “I’ll say I wanna make music, but it has to be something important. I don’t wanna just make a bunch of tunes. That’s not gonna serve me. It won’t feed me, first of all. I have to be saying something important. It has to mean something, you know? It has to mean something to a larger society.” This is line with an album like 4:44 which is filled with personal experience and introspective thoughts.

Yebba Finally Releases “Waterfall (I Adore You)” After Drake’s “Demand”

It is a darn shame that Yebba does not get the praise and recognition that she so deserves. Of course, what got her on the map was her work with Drake on Certified Lover Boy with “Yebba’s Heartbreak” back in 2021. The song has over 240 million streams on Spotify which is currently her most popular track. Other than that big co-sign, many people might have never been able to hear Yebba’s soothing voice. Hopefully, after hearing this brand-new single, she will not need any more help from bigger names.

The Arkansas singer, songwriter, and producer received a “demand” from Drake a few weeks ago to put out the full version of a song. On For All The Dogs, she has an outro section on the closing track, “Polar Opposites.” Yebba’s lyrics mainly contain the phrase “Baby, I adore you.” Apparently, this was part of a full song known as “Waterfall.”

Now, we have the official record and it goes by the title, “Waterfall (I Adore You).” There is a solo version with just Yebba, of course, but there is a second rendition. Lil Yachty Divulges On Potential Drake Collab Album

Lil Yachty and Drake have been working with one another quite a bit as of late. Overall, these two are a dynamic duo that have a great friendship, as well. Recently, the two shared a track on For All The Dogs, called “Another Late Night.” Furthermore, it has been reported that Yachty had a lot to do with the project, Her Loss. Needless to say, these two have a deep musical connection. This has subsequently led to fans speculating that they could one day drop a collab album together.

Recently, Lil Yachty was in an OGM Vlog that was posted to YouTube. During the video, he actually spoke about the possibility of doing an album with Drizzy. However, fans should not be expecting such a project to happen anytime soon. After all, Drake has made it clear that he wants to take some time for himself. That said, Yachty does seem at least a little bit optimistic that it could happen somewhere down the line.

“We’ve talked about it before… It would be nice, right?” Yachty asked. “I think he [Drake] gon take a little second to breathe [first]. Bas Drops Reflective Track “Khartoum” With Adekunle Gold

Paris-born and New York-raised rapper and singer Bas has not come out with a new album since 2018. However, that time appears to be coming to a close fairly soon. If you check out his Genius page, his forthcoming record looks to be due by December 31 of this year. The title of the project is also interesting.

We Only Talk About Real S*** When We’re F****d Up poses that this LP could talk about a lot of the worldwide issues going on. It is a fitting title as most people do not care or are unaware of the hardships and other catastrophes taking place every day. Bas has already given us three singles from this tape, including the summery track “Passport Bros” with Dreamville labelmate, J. Cole. This new one though refers to the civil war going on in Sudan and its capital, “Khartoum.”

NLE Choppa Teases New Project, Drops Fresh Freestyle

NLE Choppa found himself at the center of a bit of controversy this weekend. Overall, it all started when a family member reported him to be missing. However, he eventually came out and revealed that he just took a bit of time for himself. “I appreciate ya’ll showing concern but the missing narrative isn’t cool, especially knowing that people really do go missing everyday,” he wrote on social media. “I took a little time to myself to get back to my roots, but trust I’m all good. Apologies to anyone that was worried. We don’t run from battles, we take em chin up. IM BACK.”

Of course, it was great to hear that Choppa was doing okay. Whenever someone goes missing, there is a lot of panic that begins to set in. However, fans were immediately put at ease once it was revealed that he was doing just fine. Now, the artist is looking to get back on track. For instance, recently, he announced that he would be dropping a new project. An EP in on the way this Friday, which is great news for his fans.

Megan Thee Stallion teased new music on social media, Monday night, further alluding to “Act One” of a new era. She first hinted at the beginning of promotion for a new release by combining three Instagram posts to spell out “Act One,” earlier this month.

“Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again,” Megan says in the clip. From there, the video ends on the note, “a story by Megan Thee Stallion.” Fans in Megan’s replies were thrilled by the post. One wrote: “MEG’S REPUTATION ERA OMG.” Another added: “Megan finna gag us bad omg I can’t wait.”

The rapper confirmed that she’s funding her own work during a livestream on Instagram, earlier this month. “I have no label right now,” she told her followers. “We’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion pockets. So, the budget is coming from me. […] I’m so excited to be doing something for the first time independent since it was just me and my momma. So excited cause it’s really just me this go-round until we sign to a new label. “JT Needs To Take The Offset Route” Fans Claim After City Girls Album Sales Revealed

Over the weekend, City Girls, AKA JT and Yung Miami released their new album RAW. The title stands for “Real A*s Wh*res” and the hard-hitting, sexually charged songs throughout the album live up to that title. While there are plenty of fans praising the album, that hasn’t translated into a great sales total. The album is projected to land somewhere between 6k and 8k sales in its first week. Those numbers are pretty disappointing for a pair whose previous album debuted in the top 30 of the Billboard 200.

Now, other fans are thinking they have the explanation. On in particular claimed that one half of the duo needs to go solo. “I love City Girls and don’t hate me for saying this.. But I think JT needs to take the Offset route,” their tweet reads. By “the Offset route” she means breaking off as a solo artist. Just this week the former Migos rapper debuted his feature-packed new album Set It Off in the top 5 of the Billboard 200 with impressive first week sales figures. Clearly, there are some fans out there claiming that JT could sell more albums as a solo artist than as a member of City Girls. Check out the tweet below.

Calboy Teases New Album With “Chains Off (Freestyle)

Chicago rapper Calboy has had a rough couple of months due to legal issues with police. He has also called out plenty of his contemporaries, especially DaBaby. Overall, he is not the most well-liked person in the industry, but he is looking for a fresh start. One way he is doing this is by forging his own path in the form of creating his own record label. He was recently a signee of RCA records. However, that is no more. Rumblings around this situation began around the first quarter of 2022 and it seems that Calboy has moved on.

Flaunt recently wrote a piece on Calboy and it centered around the release of his upcoming album. It will be called Unchained. However, there is no information on the release date. What we do know is that it will be 12 tracks and some of the themes and topics that will be covered. In the interview, Calboy says that it will focus on his public and private battles. Those will include artistic freedom, lingering grief, or industry feuds.
