He knows how to rile up his fans and for the most part, they hate it. However, he still retains them in the palm of his hand. It is a very interesting dynamic that continues to be just as much frustrating as it is exhilarating. That being said, it seems like Carti is ready to release something, for real this time.

Yesterday, he began posting on his social media, his Instagram story in particular. It was here that he dropped a graphic that read “I Am Music.” Numerous producers began sharing this image, including Pharrell Williams. This, of course, gave credence to the idea that he was going to drop, very soon. Well, now, DJ Akademiks is weighing in the situation. He had the inside scoop on Whole Lotta Red, and he now has another scoop with this new Carti project.

As Akademiks explains, this new album is going to drop in January. Carti released Whole Lotta Red on Christmas of 2020. Now, he is looking to flip things on its head by dropping something in the new year. Whether or not he carries forth the punk and metal sound from his last album, still remains to be seen. Either way, this is a project that a lot of fans cannot wait to hear. There is a lot of promise here, and we cannot wait to hear it. His recent run of festival performances have been a joy to watch. Earlier today, Frank Ocean hopped on social media to preview some upcoming music. In a new clip posted on his Instagram Story, he’s seen in a recording studio, grooving to an unreleased track. He didn’t share any details of when listeners can expect the project, but gave them a taste of what’s to come nonetheless.

The preview follows another snippet recently shared by the Long Beach native last month, which led to plenty of fan speculation. The minute-long audio-only clip, unveiled in November, led listeners to believe that he could have a new full-length offering on the horizon, which he appeared to confirm during his controversial Coachella set in April.

He reflected on the 2020 passing of his brother Ryan, noting how his life has changed since his death. “It’s been so long. Everybody talks about how long it’s been. ‘It’s been so long, it’s been so long,’” he said onstage. “But I have missed you… I want to talk about why I’m here, because it’s not because of a new album. It’s because — not that there’s not a new album… but there’s not right now. Chill, chill, chill. No, it’s not right now.” Some fans even theorized that he’d drop something new ahead of his appearance at the festival, however, they were left disappointed.

Listeners can only hope that this latest snippet indicates that he’ll drop sometime in the near future. Elsewhere on his story, Frank Ocean promoted his BLONDED website, which currently boasts some new soccer apparel. Well, we don’t know for sure, but that doesn’t make this development any less exciting. After all, we usually only get radio silence on this matter, and official social media posts from him are far better than random leaks, assumptions, or other hints we usually get. What’s more is that even Pharrell Williams shared this news on his pages, so we have more reason than ever to believe that another Christmas drop for the Whole Lotta Red superstar might be upon us.

However, we don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves yet; we can’t forget that this is Playboi Carti we’re talking about. This has been a common cycle in the media for years now, only amplified by the longer we wait for it. For many fans out there, they probably won’t believe it until they see new material on their preferred streaming service, but we can’t ignore that there’s some hope here. With other bizarre social media activity from him, though– one that had some fans thinking that he got hacked– we should take this with a grain of salt.

As such, maybe the Neptunes legend will be the producer and fashion icon at the helm of this next project, or he’s just simply as excited as we are. Either way, it certainly adds fuel to the speculative fire, especially with his own talk about having a lot of new music on the way.

Meanwhile, given past reports on Carti’s album being called Music, this adds to the likelihood that this is an official album announcement. She has had crossover appeal with American stars, and this is yet another example of that. In the song “Daddy,” Tokischa raps in Spanish with some energetic flows over some phenomenal production. It is not easy to overcome these challenges. Moreover, when your best friend and mentor are gone, it’s tough to find guidance and that will within yourself. However, Gotit has miraculously been able to keep it going.

Recently, the artist decided to come out and bless his fans with a brand-new single. The track is called “How I’m Posed To Live” and it is a definite banger. The song has some killer flows all the way throughout as we get some wavy trap production. Lil Gotit has that sound to his voice that is very reminiscent to Young Thug and the influence is palpable. However, he still manages to forge his sound.

The Philadelphia-born performer revealed that he’s laid down the intro for his next album, which he says will arrive before the full project. According to him, it might even top his critically acclaimed 2012 Dreams and Nightmares intro.

“I just laid a new intro,” he Tweeted yesterday (December 6). “I think it will top dreams and nightmares!!!! Nobody can tell me different but the streets! Ima drop it b4 my album!!!!” Outshining “Dreams and Nightmares” would obviously be quite the feat. Regardless, Meek Mill appears confident that he’s pulled it off.

The project didn’t move how listeners expected it would in its first week, however, resulting in some trolling online. Regardless, Meek Mill made it clear that he was unbothered by the reportedly low projections. “It’s says me and Ross on pace to sell 35k first week I would post if it said 350k,” he Tweeted. “I’m too nice and rich to be rapping in a control music environment that’s why we dropping music on Fridays it’s doesn’t make sense ….
