21 Savage Will Drop His New Album “American Dream” This Week

New pieces of 21 Savage news have been coming one after another recently. It started overnight when the rapper confirmed the impending release of a biopic called American Dream: The 21 Savage Story. Alongside the announcement, he also confirmed that Donald Glover and Stranger Things album Chase McLaughlin were involved in the project. Just a few hours later he shared a trailer for the biopic which made some pretty substantial revelations of its own.

The trailer revealed that both actors and Savage himself would be portraying the rapper across various points in his life. The trailer shows moments from the film touching on how 21 Savage first chose his iconic rap name and his notorious 2019 arrest by ICE. It also showed off the musical elements of the film with much of the trailer serving as a pseudo music video. Savage even raps along to a new song from an interrogation room as part of the video. How much of the new film is musical is yet to be seen. Check out the trailer for the film below.

21 Savage’s New Film And Album

But for fans, the biggest reveal of all might have been hidden in the description of the trailer. It included a link to pre-save an entirely new album of music based on the film. Subsequently, fans discovered that the project will arrive sooner than anticipated. According to NFR Podcast, the album is expected to be called American Dream and is due out for release later this week on January 12. It’s unclear if that’s also when the film will release or if it will be made available at a later date.

21 Savage’s last studio album i am > i was dropped all the way back in 2018. Since then he’s dropped two collaborative albums though. He teamed up with Metro Boomin in 2020 for a sequel to their 2016 album Savage Mode. Then in 2022 he and Drake linked up for a full collaborative project called Her Loss. What do you think of 21 Savage releasing a new biopic and accompanying album later this week? Let us know in the comment section below.

Latto Goes Braless To Preview New Music, Fans Suspect Cardi B Shade

Latto fans have been waiting for new solo music from the Atlanta-born femcee for some time now. Luckily, it seems as though their prayers will be answered soon. The “Put It On Da Floor” performer took to Instagram today to share a photo dump from what appears to be a fun girls trip. She provided fans with a snippet from an unreleased song too, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come.

Latto shared some shots of herself out on the town, posing in a white mini-skirt and a t-shirt reading “ex-virgin.” She and some friends are seen surrounded by cash in one photo, spending their evening at what appears to be a strip club. Latto also shared a clip rhyming along with the upcoming track, flaunting her figure and throwing some shade.

Latto Mentions Taking Back Cheaters In Unreleased Song

“I don’t sing R&B but b*tch I’m really her, f*ck wrong with n****s / How you let him cheat and take him back, must be your only n***a,” she spits. The line has resulted in rumors that she’s dissing none other than her “Put It On Da Floor Again” collaborator, Cardi B. The NYC native is currently going through a public split from the father of her kids, Offset. He’s cheated on her previously, and some fans speculate that his reoffending led to the breakup.

“Not the Cardi stray,” one Twitter user writes. “The cardi diss is nasty,” someone else claims. Plenty of other users are coming to her defense amid the speculation, however, noting how this isn’t the first time she’s mentioned cheating in her music. What do you think of Latto teasing new music with a thirst trap? How’s the song sounding so far? Do you think she’s shading Cardi B with her cheating line, or are social media users reaching? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Eric Bellinger & Kyle Dion Carry Our “R&B Season” Playlist Updates Into 2024: Stream

Welcome to our first R&B Season playlist update of 2024, which is understandably one of the slower ones we’ll probably do this year. Moreover, there wasn’t a ton of activity in the mainstream this week when it comes to more soulful releases to kick off this next set of 365 days. Still, that wasn’t really the case for strictly hip-hop artists this week. For example, Hit-Boy linked up his father Big Hit with The Game and produced their surprise collaborative mixtape, Paisley Dreams. While we only have two new tracks to highlight for this check-in, they are so quality that it feels like they aimed to compete among a stacked release schedule.

The first addition on our inaugural R&B Season playlist update for 2024 is the single “La Perla” [The Pearl] by Eric Bellinger, B HAM, and Corey Cooper. It’s a bright, sensual, breezy, and vocally passionate cut about lusting for a potential partner with as much commitment as possible. The “BNB” singer puts together a pretty steady progression with sharp drums, cloudy synth pads, and smooth harmonies. It’s by no means the most re-inventive cut on the market, but it’s an energizing and engaging way to start your soulful musical intake this year.

HNHH R&B Season Playlist: Stream

In a more acoustic direction, our other R&B Season pick is “Hang Me Out to Dry” by Kyle Dion. This song is led by crisp guitar chords and embellishments, which match very nicely against the light percussive pattern, more harmonic displays, and synth and key licks and chords. Not only that, but the Sassy creative shows off his high register while retaining a lot of power and heft behind his voice, which is a tough balance to accomplish. It’s still pretty cold in many parts of the world, but don’t let that stop you from throwing this sunny song on.

Meanwhile, other rap highlights from this week include Erick The Architect’s excellent jazz-funk-rap jam with the one and only George Clinton, “Ezekiel’s Wheel.” If you want to check out more standouts from how MCs kicked off 2024, check out our Fire Emoji playlist with the link below. Also, don’t forget to check out our R&B Season playlist above and let us know which song you preferred– plus what we missed this week, as well. As always, stick around on HNHH for more great music releases around the clock.

ZAYSKII Gives Us A Small Glimpse Into His Lifestyle On “Um” From Zaytoven-Produced Album “I’m The One”

Now that Zaytoven is entering the latter stages of his career (even though he has not lost a step), he has been shifting his focus a bit. Of course, he is still working with the best of the best like Gucci Mane, Quavo, Lil Durk, and more. But, he is going back to where he found his passion for music, the Church. Very soon, Zay will be dropping a collaboration album with gospel rapper 1K Phew, who hails from Atlanta. On January 19 Pray For Atlanta will be available.

One of the other ways Zaytoven is moving on from the constant big-time collabs is by working alongside his son. His stage name is ZAYSKII and he has just come out with his debut album, I’m The One. It is a seven-song offering with production credits from his pops. We have covered the tape pretty extensively already, but we wanted to bring your attention to one other track.

Listen To “Um” By ZAYSKII And Zaytoven

As expected, ZAYSKII is still figuring out his sound. He is just 18 years old so its practice makes perfect at this point. But one thing he has nailed is the ability to create some catchy auto-tuned melodies. He does that on the closing track “Um.” This is one of the deeper and more personal cuts. It shows a small look at the type of life the young rapper is living. Some of the writing gets a little sloppy, but with his legendary father by his side, he has the tools to succeed.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new song, “Um,” by ZAYSKII and Zaytoven? Is this the best song from his debut album, I’m The One? After hearing this project, do you think ZAYSKII has what it takes to become a star in the next few years? Does this song have the best beat on it? If not, which one would you take over it? Where do you rank Zaytoven amongst the greatest producers of all time? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding ZAYSKII and Zaytoven. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

NLE Choppa Brings Another Grizzly But Well-Written Track With “Purge On Em” Featuring DJ BOOKER

I think many would agree that when NLE Choppa goes ballistic on a track, he is at his absolute best. Well, that is this case tenfold on a new song he and DJ BOOKER just came by with. You can find it on their album fresh off the presses, The Chosen Ones. It is a collaborative album that features seven tracks and zero features.

A fair amount of the songs in the tracklist are handled production-wise by BOOKER. However, this is more of a Choppa track than anything else. “Purge On Em” was the second single ahead of the release. The first was “Mem,” which actually came out in 2022. “Purge On Em” was produced by Pluto Beats and Yokarza.

Listen To “Purge On Em” By NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER

NLE hits a familiar pocket on this track, however, it is slowed down a bit. As we mentioned, the Memphis rapper is spitting murderously across this one. “All black attire, I cover my tats / And if I see a opp, I’ma slam like Shaq / Last n**** play with the gang, swear to god we left that boy limbs detached.” It is the closer and might be the most well-written song on the LP. You can hear it for yourself with the link above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new song, “Purge On Em,” by NLE Choppa and DJ BOOKER? Is this the best track off of The Chosen Ones, why or why not? After hearing this album, should these two continue to collaborate more in the near future? What songs are you gravitating toward from the first couple of listens? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news around NLE Choppa and DJ BOOKER. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

ZAYSKII Creates A “Winnin” Melody On This Zaytoven-Produced Track

The greatest thing about music is that it can bring people closer together. There is something about the aura it creates that is unlike anything in the world. It is especially awesome when families become more tight-knit. That happens to be the case with Zaytoven and his son, ZAYSKII.

About a month ago, HNHH spoke with the legendary trap beatmaker about his kid’s debut project. “I’m putting his album out on January 2nd on his birthday. He turns 18.” He continued, “I’m excited about it because he watched me but at the same time, he’s not just trying to do it the exact same way I did. He got his own little twist and flavor to it, too.” It did not drop until the 5th, but we have the project on our hands now.

Listen To “Winnin” By Zayskii And Zaytoven

We covered ZAYSKII’s album I’m The One, but now we want to give you a song to check out. One that is starting to gain some traction for him is the opener “Winnin.” It might have the catchiest melody on the entire record. Zaytoven brings a nice mellow, piano-backed beat which is what he is well-known for at this point. It might not be something totally unique, but it does show that he can write something that can get in your head (in a good way).

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new song, “Winnin,” by ZAYSKII and Zaytoven? Is this the best track from his debut tape, I’m The One? How do you think ZAYSKII will fare in the rap game going forward? After hearing this song, do you feel he will be able to create his own style, or will he be an amalgamation of others? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news around ZAYSKII and Zaytoven. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

I ain’t gonna lie that kinda hurt my feelings

NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER Bring A Murderous Sound To “Mem”

One of the best qualities of NLE Choppa is his technical ability. He may not be the most thought-provoking lyricist, but that is not the type of music he makes. The established star Memphis rapper brings head-knocking trap bangers. Out of all of the artists from that city, he is near the top of the heap.

He is bringing some of his patented energetic performances to a new project. For this one, he teamed up with a close buddy of his, DJ BOOKER, for a seven-song offering. The Chosen Ones does not really feature a theme, just tracks that you can catch a vibe from. A song we feel you should be paying attention to is “Mem.”

Listen To “Mem” By NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER

This is the lead single for the tape and it features some heavy and dark piano keys from BOOKER. Choppa comes in on a mission to rap as fast as he can. However, he sounds coherent with the devilish production in the background. This song is a year old, but we never got to give it its proper shine. Check out the music video for it above.

What are your initial thoughts on this new song, “Mem,” by NLE Choppa and DJ BOOKER? Is this the best song from The Chosen Ones, why or why not? Does this track have the beat on the record? Do you think this will be a memorable project for NLE? How will he perform in 2024? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Is Big Boi Making New Music? Rapper’s Latest IG Post Sparks Hope Amongst Fans

Big Boi fans are excited about the possibility of new music from the Outkast rapper following his latest Instagram post. The post, simply captioned “Day 1”, saw Big Boi opening his iconic “Jedi Rap Sh-t” notebook in the studio. Furthermore, the rapper added the iconic Outkast track “Hootie Hoo” as the post’s soundtrack.

Fans were absolutely here for the possibility for new Big Boi solo work or a new Outkast project. “Mannn I don’t care if Dre chips in with a flute or a triangle, I’m here for it 👽,” one person said. “Get the fire extinguisher 🧯that Southernplayalistic Boi’ is back 🔥🔥🔥,” exclaimed another. “@bigboi @andre3000 So what y’all are saying is your going to do a #SouthernPlayalisticCadillacMusic #30Year Anniversary concert performing the entire album at the #BuckheadTheatre or #TabernacleATL one-night only with commerative autographed album covers for attendees and I get VIP tickets because I guessed it right???” theorized a third.

Big Boi Tries To Control Freaked Out Owl During College Concert

However, back in November 2023, Big Boi was having to deal with a whole over variant of hootie hoo’ing. Big Boi was performing at Kennessaw State after the Owls had taken down Lincoln University of Oakland and did so with the school’s mascot, Kenny the Owl, sitting on his arm. However, the bird immediately freaked out after Big Boi started performing and attempted to fly away. Furthermore, Kenny was tethered to his arm, leading the rapper to have to try and corral the bird as Kenny went berserk trying to escape. Eventually, Kenny’s handler arrived on the scene to alleviate the Outkast member.

However, prior to the game, Big Boi had posted a video to his Instagram of him and Kenny chilling much more calmly. It’s likely that the bird didn’t like the sudden loud music and the rapper’s attempts to dance to it during his concert.

NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER Team For A Mini Project “The Chosen Ones”

NLE Choppa is teaming up with an old friend for a little seven-track project. But first, let us take a quick look back at his 2023. The Memphis talent was pretty active, as he worked with some international artists while sticking to his roots. Some of his highlights included the sequel to his debut project Cottonwood.

In terms of tracks that stood out for Choppa, it is quite a long list. One of his hottest collaborations was with French rapper Gambi on “Bonjour.” Of course, you also have the singles “IT’S GETTING HOT,” which was very polarizing. Additionally, he closed out his halo “Shotta Flow” series with the seventh installment.

Listen To The Chosen Ones By DJ BOOKER And NLE Choppa

To start the new year, we mentioned Choppa is working with a familiar face for a short album called The Chosen Ones. That artist is DJ BOOKER. He has been crafting beats since 2016 but has a very minimal discography. BOOKER weaves in and out of different lanes such as dance, electronic, and rap. These two first worked with each other on a 2020 loosie “Ayeee.” Then, they would go on to release the eventual lead single for this tape in 2022 with “Mem.” To match the various production choices Choppa uses multiple cadences that make him sound like someone else. You can check out the tape with the DSP links above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new album, The Chosen One, by NLE Choppa and DJ BOOKER? Which songs are you gravitating toward the most so far after the first few listens? Do you think these two should collaborate more often going forward? How do you feel about Choppa trying out different rap styles on this project? Did any of them land for you, why or why not? Glorilla Says She’s Being A “Simp” In Her New Music

Glorilla, a hip-hop artist, just hinted that she’s changing her music style to something softer. This surprised fans who were used to her intense and bold sound. The “F.N.F.” rapper has been exploring new sounds in general as of lately, and it’s been experimental to watch. The change was revealed through a tweet where a fan shared they loved listening to Glorilla’s music, especially because it seemed to express dislike towards men. Glorilla responded with laughing emojis, saying she’s going for a softer vibe in her new songs. “Listening to Glorilla non-stop in the car she hate n***as as much as I do.” And Glorilla responded with laughing emojis and said “I’m being a simp on my new s**t y’all.”

This unexpected shift got a mixed reaction from fans. Some were excited about the change, while others preferred her old, intense style. It shows how artists can face challenges when trying something new. Not everyone may like it. Fans responded to the interaction with mixed reactions. “Keep that s**t we don’t wanna hear it, respectfully,” someone said. “I love her, I just wish she talked less.. that’s how they be messing theirselves up. The conversation on social media also touched on how artists connect with their fans online. Some fans welcomed the change, while others advised Glorilla to focus more on making music and less on talking. This divergence in opinions highlights the challenge artists face when navigating shifts in their musical style. As fans may either embrace change or long for the familiarity of the artist’s established sound.

Moreover, in the dynamic landscape of hip-hop, where artists often evolve and experiment with their sound, Glorilla’s decision to explore a softer musical style reflects the industry’s constant evolution.
