Tyla & Travis Scott Get Steamy & Drenched In Visuals For “Water (Remix)”

Tyla’s career is on the fast track toward super stardom. Some may argue she is already there and they definitely make a compelling argument. While she still needs to develop a more robust catalog, she has proven so far that she can write some catchy amapiano, Afropop, and Afro R&B records. Of course, everyone is drawn to the song that really put her on the map, “Water.” It was released at the perfect time last year (July 28), and it looks to have another big outing this summer as well. What will also bolster it is the new music video for “Water (Remix)” featuring Travis Scott alongside Tyla.

The alternate version dropped about four months later, and while it is not as popular as its predecessor, Travis definitely does not take away from its allure. We appreciate the subtle changes for his appearance like the heavier drums and auto-tuned background vocals. It is certainly a justified remix in our books. Now, it is further solidified (or rather liquified) with a music video.

There is some fun and sensual direction behind the camera from Nabil Elderkin. He uses the dark blue color scheme, water, and some sort of divider to excellent effect. Travis is on the other side of the see through wall as she continues to lure him in before they come together in the second half. Tyla’s debut self-titled album hits streaming on Friday March 22 with features from Becky G, Tems, Gunna, SKillibeng, and Kelvin Momo.

42 Dugg Drops Off Grim Single “Wock N Red”

If there is a rapper that embodies the city of Detroit, it is 42 Dugg. Sure, there are plenty of others, but his pit bull-like mentality in his music really drives that point home. The gravelly-voiced MC has been enjoying these last several months as a free man. He was serving a one-year sentence for failing to surrender himself in what was supposed to be a six-month bout after a 2020 federal gun investigation. One of the ways 42 Dugg has been relishing this time has been through dropping singles like “Wock N Red.”

This is now the 29-year-old’s third solo single and fourth total release following his time behind bars. That outlier is a feature appearance on a deluxe Sexyy Red track “Perfect Match,” which also saw G Herbo on it. Probably the biggest success for Dugg so far has been “SpinDatBac.” Part of the reason for that was because there a was a video that was making the rounds on social media.

He was seen in the studio with J. Cole playing the track for him and he was digging it. It has become a fan-favorite since its release in November, receiving 5.5 million views on YouTube. Ski Mask The Slump God has always been a fun, experimental, and hilarious figure in hip-hop. He is immensely talented and is someone you can count for some speedy flows and creative bars. There are not too many rappers like him, but unfortunately for fans, he just does not drop much. However, with Ski Mask’s new single “Shibuya,” hopefully this a sign that he is ready to release more material.

This in the Florida native’s first solo single since October 2022 with “OOGA BOOGA!” On that track Ski Mask sports an easy-going flow over a bouncy beat. Rumors had it that this was going to be a single for his eagerly-awaited sophomore album 11th Dimension. His debut, STOKELEY, dropped all the way back on November 30, 2018.

In fact, it doesn’t really have much to do with the relationship part, as she simply just said that she believes in a couple splitting all expenses 50/50. Rather, Cardi B remarked that she’s “not a feminist anymore,” and this is what caused a lot of people to push back and demand a more elaborate explanation. Since VULTURES 1 by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign was beginning to be rolled out, we have received four sets of visuals. The first of which was revealed to us on Instagram for “TALKING” featuring Ye’s oldest child, North West. Following that, two versions of “VULTURES,” “Havoc Version” and “Juice Version,” got unique imagery. Now, after going number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “CARNIVAL” gets the music video treatment.

Of course, this cut features Playboi Carti and Rich The Kid, and they have helped turn this record into a fan favorite. Its wild chanting backup vocalists paired with the EDM/trap beat is certainly a unique mix of textures and sonics. But it has won fans over in a hurry, being out for just over a month now. Additionally, like most things Kanye does, this video is anything but orthodox.

After letting this settle, he had decided to return by dropping a tribute to his pops with a single. “No Then You A H*e” is a spectral-like track, but it is also beautiful at the same time.

Maxo raps, “Real street legend, to me you was my papa though / Heart attack, a couple stroke, blood pressure, dementia / Papa Maxo was a soldier and through me forever livin’.” “No Then You A H*e,” as we mentioned, has a haunting feeling but it fits the tone to a tee. With its very faint drums and choral-esque vocals, it helps you get lost in the lyrics in a good way.

However, this is not the only solid drop from Maxo Kream lately. He and rising star evilgiane have been cooking up some stuff in the studio. “Bang The Bus” was about what the title says, but it had some inventive production. TisaKorean Goes Absolutely Wild On New Single “UCCI”: Stream

TisaKorean is hopping back into the rap game in 2024 with his first release of the year, the wild new single “UCCI” and its accompanying music video. The “Rando” entertainer -– known for his rapping, his singing, and his dancing -– came through with an above all vibrant song that feels like ear candy in an almost annoying way, like a lot of great and fun rap songs tend to me. This is thanks to a high-pitched, nasal, and fast-flowing vocal performance that pairs up perfectly with the synth-heavy and rapid trap beat. The chorus melody will definitely get stuck in your head for an unspecified amount of time, and it’s a little over two minutes that wastes no time in kicking things off with a bang and keeping the energy on high for the whole duration.

Furthermore, this is exactly the kind of style that made fans fall in love with the Houston rapper in the first place. For example, earlier cuts like “GRoCERIES” or “Spongy” showed off his personality in a big way, and made his impactful entrance in the game all the more colorful. But TisaKorean’s stayed pretty prolific since then, and with cuts like “UCCI” as our example, it’s clear that he’s having as much fun as ever with his current material. As far as the music video below, it’s pretty much your standard rap video fare with a little more effects and aesthetic variations, plus different camera qualities and perspectives. But the real highlight here is just how effectively he was able to make this simple and almost annoyingly overblown song into something engaging.
