NBA YoungBoy Has Fans Scratching Their Heads With New Single “Catch Him”

NBA YoungBoy has been the subject of a lot of ridicule throughout his expansive career. At just 24 years old, the Louisiana product has well over 20 albums/mixtapes. All of that has been accomplished in just about eight years as well. It has led to a lot of debates on whether the quality is equal to the quantity. In this case, “Catch Him” is not making a good case for NBA YoungBoy.

Like most of his releases, especially as of late, YB has put the single on YouTube only. And once again, the track is already receiving a ton of views, with well over 400,000 in its first 17 hours. However, fans in his Instagram comments underneath his two latest posts about “Catch Him” have not been glowing. One person writes, “N**** must have gotten cloned bc this definitely not hitting I can’t be the only one 😭” Another chimes in, “Nah man you starting to lose me.”

Listen To “Catch Him” By NBA YoungBoy

We can see why a majority of people are feeling this type of way about it. NBA YoungBoy’s voice is way too overpowering in the mix and his cadence is all over the place. When you get to around the 40 second mark of the record you will see what we mean by that. The flows are also way off beat, and they are not pleasant to the ears. Hopefully, his next project to follow, I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders, will be something the fans can enjoy.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Catch Him,” by NBA YoungBoy? Do you agree with the fans that this song is not good, why or why not? Are your favorite artists ones that drop more, or drop less and why? Do you think NBA has fallen off? Future, Metro Boomin, & The Weeknd Reunite Once Again For “Young Metro” Music Video

Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative project WE DON’T TRUST YOU has been out for a full weekend now and fans messing with it heavily. While we feel there are some sleepier and just meh moments on it, it is definitely a solid listen. Of course, everyone on the internet cannot stop discussing Kendrick Lamar’s wild appearance on “Like That.” Drake has somewhat responded to the chatter around it in typical fashion, but still crickets from J. Cole. But do not let this song distract you from the fact that there is plenty of other hot tracks on the LP. For example, “Young Metro” is one to keep your eye on, as the music video is out now.

During the weekend, the features were hidden from us, so it was really cool to hear The Weeknd appear, albeit minimally. It was especially surprising (or maybe not) to hear him do a feature after he said he would not be doing anymore. Clearly, Future and Metro know that this will be one of the hits from the record with “Young Metro” being the second track to get a music video. After watching the “Type S***” visuals, it is clear what the direction for the tone is.

Watch “Young Metro” By Future, Metro Boomin, & The Weeknd

The “Young Metro” video sports some trippy, mysterious and dark shots all throughout. Hidji World and Omar Jones are credited as the directors, and they bring some cool edits into the mix. There are some spinning and slow-motion elements that complement the angelic qualities of the track. Overall, the visuals and song itself are both very good and it figures to be one of the go-to moments from WE DON’T TRUST YOU.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new music video for “Young Metro” by Metro Boomin, Future, and The Weeknd? Is this the best set of visuals for the album so far, why or why not? YNW Melly YNW BSlime, Jit4 Stan, & Ynw4L Collab For Posse Love Cut “Save Me”

YNW Melly is still awaiting a result from the judges as to what his punishment is or is not. Of course, the the Florida rapper and singer was brought into custody for the murder of his YNW crewmates, Juvy and Sakchaser. That went down in February of 2019. In the meantime, YNW Melly has been semi-active lately in terms of music, as he returns with “Save Me.”

This a love song with features from YNW BSlime, Jit4 Stan, and Ynw4L. Melly and Jit4 Stan are staying on topic about begging for a woman to be in their life. However, BSlime goes in a little bit different direction. With a title like “Save Me,” YNW Melly was assuredly going to be the one referring to his case. But, BSlime is the one to do so instead.

In the lyrics below, he pours out his emotions for his bandmate as he hopes he makes his way back into society soon. “Save Me” follows up YNW Melly’s February single “772 Love Pt. 3 (Your Love).” That featured BSlime and 4L and had a similar focus about relationships. The last update we had about Melly’s new trial date came back in January. People reporting about it and those involved were hoping for March 5 or soon after that. Maybe soon we will have an update on his situation.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Save Me,” by YNW Melly, YNW BSlime, Jit4 Stan, and Ynw4L? Is this the better track than “772 Love Pt. 3 (Your Love),” why or why not? Lil Mabu Left Frightened By Gun Shot While Filming Music Video With Lil RT

Lil Mabu is an artist who has brought forth a ton of controversy since bursting onto the scene. Overall, there is a very good reason for this. He is a kid who has co-opted the Brooklyn Drill sound. Moreover, it has been revealed that he went to a prep school in New York and that his dad has a lot of money. Essentially, he is making music because his family has the funds to bankroll him. Additionally, he gets into a lot of viral antics, so it only makes his racket that much bigger. One could just look at his Fivio Foreign music video to understand what we mean.

Another controversial person is Lil RT. He is a young kid who has been linking up with some famous artists. Although his parents seem to be okay with what he is doing, many have criticized his involvement with people who are much older than him. Not to mention, he has been speaking about topics that a child should simply not be engaging in. His childhood is being taken from him, and most don’t approve. However, that has not stopped Lil Mabu from linking up with Lil RT, as you can see below.

Lil Mabu x Lil RT

In fact, the video below depicts Lil Mabu and Lil RT in Atlanta as they film the music video for “BIG DOG SH*T.” However, Mabu got spooked as he heard a gun shot in the distance. A security guard who was with him told him to relax, and he did so in the calmest way possible. The shot sounded as though it was far away, but that doesn’t make it any less scary. Whether or not it was staged to make Mabu go viral, remains to be seen.

Let us know what you thought about this video, in the comments section below. What do you make of Lil Mabu? What about Lil RT? Do you think it’s bad for a kid to be engaged in the music industry like this? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Kota The Friend Pens A Cute & Vibey Love Story With “PNW”

Kota the Friend is one of the most consistently sound rappers right now. While he might not be getting the same love as some of the top-tier lyricists, his pen game is among the best in the modern era. The Brooklyn, New York native recently expanded his Lyrics to GO series with the fifth installment at the end of January. It was another solid entry for Kota the Friend and today he is back with a new single “PNW.”

This single is a delicate love story that sees Kota wanting to stick around with a love interest even through all of her changes. Another layer behind “PNW” or “Pacific Northwest,” is that this woman can be complicated just like the weather in the region. The final fun detail about this single is that it dropped March 19, which is also the first day of spring, a change in the seasons. Kota is always incorporating some cool concepts to his music and this is another example of that.

Listen To “PNW” By Kota The Friend

In terms of the meat and potatoes of “PNW,” Kota is bringing some excellent yet simple writing that allows the listener to easily follow the story. The beat is equally simplistic, and it fits the environment that he is trying to create. The music video is the cherry on top as he held a private listening session for “PNW” for fans in Oregon, which also ties into the title. He wound up filming the reactions and turned it into a music video. Again, Kota is one of the best in the business and this proves it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “PNW,” by Kota the Friend? Is this one of his best storytelling tracks ever, why or why not? Where do you rank this song in his 2024 catalog? Do you think another album is on the way? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Major Myjah Returns With A Hazy Late-Night Banger “Trying”

Major Myjah is a newcomer to the HNHH site and we are excited to bring you our first coverage of him. According to Viper Mag, he is a multicultural artist who has roots all over the United States. He was raised in between Miami, Los Angeles, Jamaica, New York and Atlanta, and specializes in rap and R&B cuts. Today we are here to talk about Major Myjah’s new single “Trying.”

This is now his second single of the year and of the last three years! That last offering was a collaboration with Drumma Boy called “Crushin’.” In addition to that long drought without loosies, Major Myjah also has not dropped an album since 2015. In fact, it has been his only project of his scant, yet veteran-like 10-year career.

Tyla & Travis Scott Get Steamy & Drenched In Visuals For “Water (Remix)”

Tyla’s career is on the fast track toward super stardom. Some may argue she is already there and they definitely make a compelling argument. While she still needs to develop a more robust catalog, she has proven so far that she can write some catchy amapiano, Afropop, and Afro R&B records. Of course, everyone is drawn to the song that really put her on the map, “Water.” It was released at the perfect time last year (July 28), and it looks to have another big outing this summer as well. What will also bolster it is the new music video for “Water (Remix)” featuring Travis Scott alongside Tyla.

The alternate version dropped about four months later, and while it is not as popular as its predecessor, Travis definitely does not take away from its allure. We appreciate the subtle changes for his appearance like the heavier drums and auto-tuned background vocals. It is certainly a justified remix in our books. Now, it is further solidified (or rather liquified) with a music video.

Watch Music Video For “Water (Remix)” With Tyla & Travis Scott

There is some fun and sensual direction behind the camera from Nabil Elderkin. He uses the dark blue color scheme, water, and some sort of divider to excellent effect. It allows for Tyla to come across as the mysterious love interest she is portraying herself to be in the song. Travis is on the other side of the see through wall as she continues to lure him in before they come together in the second half. Tyla’s debut self-titled album hits streaming on Friday March 22 with features from Becky G, Tems, Gunna, SKillibeng, and Kelvin Momo.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new music video for “Water (Remix)” by Tyla and Travis Scott? Is this the better version of her hit song, why or why not? Do you think it was smart to make the visuals for the remix instead of the original? Are you going to check out her debut self-titled album this Friday, March 22? Should they collaborate again in the future? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. 42 Dugg Drops Off Grim Single “Wock N Red”

If there is a rapper that embodies the city of Detroit, it is 42 Dugg. Sure, there are plenty of others, but his pit bull-like mentality in his music really drives that point home. The gravelly-voiced MC has been enjoying these last several months as a free man. He was serving a one-year sentence for failing to surrender himself in what was supposed to be a six-month bout after a 2020 federal gun investigation. One of the ways 42 Dugg has been relishing this time has been through dropping singles like “Wock N Red.”

This is now the 29-year-old’s third solo single and fourth total release following his time behind bars. That outlier is a feature appearance on a deluxe Sexyy Red track “Perfect Match,” which also saw G Herbo on it. Probably the biggest success for Dugg so far has been “SpinDatBac.” Part of the reason for that was because there a was a video that was making the rounds on social media.

He was seen in the studio with J. Cole playing the track for him and he was digging it. It has become a fan-favorite since its release in November, receiving 5.5 million views on YouTube. To keep the momentum going for Dugg, he is back with “Wock N Red.” London on da Track has a production credit on this one, as he brings a murderous tone to match Dugg’s violent lyrics. Be sure to check out the music video above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Shibuya,” by Ski Mask The Slump God? Is this one of his strongest tracks as of late, why or why not? Ski Mask The Slump God Drops His First Solo Single In Nearly 2 Years With “Shibuya”

Ski Mask The Slump God has always been a fun, experimental, and hilarious figure in hip-hop. He is immensely talented and is someone you can count for some speedy flows and creative bars. There are not too many rappers like him, but unfortunately for fans, he just does not drop much. However, with Ski Mask’s new single “Shibuya,” hopefully this a sign that he is ready to release more material.

This in the Florida native’s first solo single since October 2022 with “OOGA BOOGA!” On that track Ski Mask sports an easy-going flow over a bouncy beat. Rumors had it that this was going to be a single for his eagerly-awaited sophomore album 11th Dimension. His debut, STOKELEY, dropped all the way back on November 30, 2018.

Listen To “Shibuya” By Ski Mask The Slump God

In fact, it was also a major possibility that Ski Mask would put out the record in November 2022. However, that obviously did not happen. The last update, outside of “Shibuya,” would come in November 2023 on X. “11th Dimension
The Album Coming So Soon,” according to Genius. Now with this new single, there is some talk we could get the album this month, but our confidence levels are low. As for “Shibuya,” Ski Mask is rocking a more laid-back and melodic flow, over a rage-esque beat with some killer synths. In typical quirky fashion, there are some Super Mario Bros. coin collecting sound effects for some extra character.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Shibuya,” by Ski Mask The Slump God? Is this one of his strongest tracks in recent memory, why or why not? DaBaby Is All About Getting Freaky On “WONDER WOMAN”

DaBaby is someone who can wow with you his technical abilities, but as a creative mind, some would argue that he is lacking in that department. Of course, the conversations around that debate always revert back to his inability to switch up his flows and cadences. Hip-hop heads might have a field day with DaBaby and use “WONDER WOMAN” as ammo for their stance.

On this track you will find the Cleveland born MC talking about getting intimate with a love interest. However, it seems that DaBaby is trying to grab her attention as he wonders what she is like when it comes down to it. “I was hopin’ you a freak / I wonder how she act when I’m in that p***y (Act).”
