Treach’s “Drink Champs” Appearance Covers Collabs, Beef Stories & Much More

If you’re a younger reader, you may not know of all the greatness behind Naughty By Nature, the ’90s hip-hop trio behind the classic hit “O.P.P.” and many more. Fortunately, its leading MC Treach recently appeared on Drink Champs to provide some of this context and history. Moreover, he told N.O.R.E., DJ EFN, and the rest of the crew about his career history, his influence in the game, and his many collabs and friendships across the East and West Coasts, whether it’s with Biggie Smalls or with Tupac. Of course, they also had time to address wild tour stories, aliens, and other fun topics.

Even though he might not be the biggest household name these days, the New Jersey native holds a lot of respect within hip-hop. Whether it’s through his work with other legends or his presence and knowledge in the culture, he has quite the impressive resumé. Sure, there are also the parts of this story that fall more into the gossip side of things, especially with recent revelations. For example, Will Smith was scared to go on a date with Pepa because she and Treach were on a break at the time. Needless to say, the actor didn’t really want that smoke with him, both out of respect and fear for his life.

Treach’s Drink Champs Episode: Watch

While that story paints the “5 Deadly Venomz” rapper in more of an aggressive light, there’s clearly been a lot of growth since then. He’s ventured into other businesses and endeavors, mentored rising artists, and is always down to talk for the culture. That’s not to say that Treach has completely abandoned the game, though, even if it’s not as prolific of a run as before. In addition to various singles, he reached out to Eminem to work with him for his first solo album.

Meanwhile, stories of the 52-year-old’s lyrical prowess and dominance are still the stuff of legend. Through this conversation, you’ll be able to peel back those layers and reveal the mind and soul behind all the fame and success. It’s nice to see him receive his flowers after all this time. Tyler, The Creator’s New Nardwuar Interview: His Festival, Influences & More

Tyler, The Creator and everyone’s favorite Internet interview sleuth, Nardwuar, go way back- at least over twelve years, in fact. As such, it’s always heartening to see them link up, because few figures are so perfect for each other’s brand, passions, vibes, and humor. Moreover, the two linked up for their fifth interview at the rapper’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles. Backstage, they chopped it up about their history, the festival, Tyler’s influences, the gifts that The Human Serviette had for him, and so much more. We won’t spoil the whole thing for you, though; few music media treats are as wholesome and compelling as a Narduwar interview first-watch.

However, something from this interview that lit the Internet up was Tyler, The Creator’s comments on music journalism. “We’re at a point where a musician talking in detail about music and people are like ‘Why does he keep doing that?’” he remarked. “But if I was on here gossiping, people would feed into it. We need to get back to talking about music. We need to stop f***ing going sneaker shopping or deep-throating chicken wings for an hour.”

Tyler, The Creator’s 2023 Nardwuar Interview: Watch

Of course, this made many people come to the media’s defense, particularly for Sean Evans of Hot Ones, while others completely agree with the “WHARF TALK” creative. A few hours after these comments started to make rounds on social media, Tyler, The Creator clarified that he doesn’t hold any hard feelings for Hot Ones and wishes that he would’ve used a different example. After all, he agrees that shows like this are not the problem, and actually has other podcasts or programs that he actually dislikes. Overall, it seems like the Hawthorne native just wants more of a balance between deep conversation and some fun.

Few artists fall into that “fun” bag as organically, respectfully, and interestingly as Nardwuar, so it’s clear that having less serious discussion isn’t the issue here. I mean, we’re talking about Mr. “So you just gon’ bring me a birthday gift on my birthday to my birthday party on my birthday with a birthday gift?” here. Even if people may think he has a big ego- and he would agree– it’s because of how passionate he is and how he wants to talk about his love of music, not about whatever Twitter is up in arms about. We can’t wait for these two to link up again one day. For more news and the latest updates on Tyler, The Creator and Nardwuar, check back in with HNHH.

Amber Rose On Wiz Khalifa Breakup: “I Cried For Three Years Straight”

When it comes to previous couples turned friendly duos, Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa are a prime example to admire within the realm of hip-hop. Sure, things aren’t squeaky-clean perfect, but their coparenting bond, love for each other, and admission of their wrongs is a wholesome contrast to their split. During a recent interview with Adam22 and Lena The Plug on No Jumper, the model explained how their breakup was very hard for her. Not only was it a long process, but you can tell that it was also born out of mutual love and an acknowledgement that things just weren’t going to work.

“With Wiz, I cried for, like, three years straight [following the split],” Amber Rose recalled. The three were discussing how letting go of relationships is sometimes easy, something that people look forward to, or something that folks relish in the moment. But she explained that things weren’t that simple for them, especially since they had a child to take care of that elongated the leftover feelings and healing process. “No, for Wiz, for sure. That was the love of my life. That’s why I said I can’t apply that to Wiz. But yeah, I cried for, I used to just sit in the shower and be like, f**k.”

Amber Rose Details Hardship Of Wiz Khalifa Breakup: Watch

Meanwhile, this is part of what Wiz Khalifa said of his relationship with Amber Rose during a recent Drink Champs appearance. “We’re like the ideal couple, even though we’re not together,” he explained. “We share the most beautiful thing in life, we have a kid. We got great memories, we were married. So everything we did was out of pure love, you know what I’m saying? We planned on being with each other forever. But, you know, that s**t gets difficult. And I think with marriage, with legal marriage, it kind of sucks because that has to be the end of something when that’s over. But I think we’re proving that it’s not the end of everything, even when that legal s**t is over.

He gets to enjoy both of us together,” the Taylor Gang boss remarked. “He doesn’t see us separately. That’s really important. My parents were divorced since I was 2, and I had both of them in my life. Love my mother, love my dad, but they can’t be in the same room together, and that’s not good for a kid. And it’s not their fault because they probably didn’t grow up seeing the best functioning anything. But we gotta break that and we gotta be better for our f***ing kids.” For more news and the latest updates on Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, come back to HNHH.

Travis Scott Pursued Being A Kidney Doctor Before Music

During his recent interview with GQ, Travis Scott hinted at wanting to pursue a degree in architectural design at Harvard University. However, that’s wasn’t necessarily his first love in the world of academia, and in that conversation, he alluded to what he initially wanted to do with his life. Moreover, La Flame recalled his grammar school days, specifically a time when he slept over at a friend’s house. There, he met his uncle, a man who he found to be very successful and fulfilled. As such, the Houston rapper couldn’t help but ask what he did for a living, and his answer gave him one of his first career aspirations: a kidney doctor.

“We went to his crib,” Travis Scott remarked. “His crib was cr*zy. I’ve never seen a crib like this. It was OD. His dad was an ob-gyn. And I remember his uncle was at the house, and I asked his uncle, I was like, ‘What do you do?’ And he’s like, ‘I’m a nephrologist.’ He told me what it was, and I was like, ‘Yo, it’s cr*zy.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I want to be that.’

“I don’t know why being a kidney doctor was just such… I think it was his swag,” Travis Scott explained. “Like, his whole swag was just, like, he was fresh. I don’t know. It was the idea of just, like, saving people at the time was dope. I used to go and shadow at the hospitals [during his college days at the University of Texas in San Antonio]. So I fell in love with it more there, just the whole process of it all. I wanted to own my own practice, know the business side of it, do the medicine side of it.”

Meanwhile, other topics of conversation during this interview were the Astroworld tragedy and the inspiration behind UTOPIA. Throughout all this exchange, we got to see a little more of who this artist is, and fans might be surprised by this career path. He’s definitely come a long way since then, but there are certain passions that you may cast aside but that always hold a place in your heart and motivation for other endeavors. Blueface Reacts To His Mom’s Bombshell Interview With Jason Lee

Karlissa Saffold, Blueface’s mother, recently spilled a lot of beans on his life and upbringing during an interview with Jason Lee on his show, published on Wednesday (November 15). Moreover, it contained a lot of claims concerning her personal life and sexuality, her feuds with the mothers of her son’s children, and a whole lot more. Understandably, a lot of this didn’t sit well with him, even if he played it off in a pretty aloof way on social media. When these clips started to make rounds online, the California rapper took to Twitter to voice some discontent with his mom’s assessments.

“Karlissa why is you telling this sad a** story I like being disliked,” Blueface tweeted on Wednesday night. As such, he suggested that his mother painted his struggles in too much of a negative light when he’s actually becoming very successful and profitable as a result of his antics and obsessions with his behavior. In addition, the “BDD” MC also addressed Karlissa Saffold’s earlier comments about her husband’s member being larger than his. “Yo husband d**k is not bigger then mine on sY stop saying that,” he expressed.

Blueface Tells His Mom To Stop Speaking On His Name

Meanwhile, here are a few excerpts from The Jason Lee Show‘s interview with Blueface’s mom. “I don’t think he wants to share that he actually had a good life,” Karlissa Saffold remarked. “I don’t know, I feel like with rappers, they wanna play like they been through hell and back. He didn’t get enough of that, maybe. Honestly, I’m at a loss for words for it.” “Y’all already got mad when I said something about that,” she said of the comparison between her son and her husband. “So, I ain’t bringing up that d**k. I just know my man d**k bigger than his d**k. That was like a joke to be funny. That was trolling. So, I don’t know.

“When I saw that, people don’t realize, I took a whole day and just sat in my car,” she almost tearfully recalled about Blue posting his son’s hernia on the Internet. “I sat in the car for a whole day, just researching and looking it up. Jumped right into mommy mode. That flipped me out and I wasn’t ready. I know [him]. When he does sporadic s**t like that, he like, ‘Help, I don’t know what to do.’ And we wasn’t speaking at the time.” For more news and the latest updates on Blueface, log back into HNHH.

DJ Akademiks Continues To Support Tory Lanez, Bashes Megan Thee Stallion’s “Cobra” Single

Honestly, there is no telling if the debate on who was done wrong in the Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez shooting incident will end. Some of the details still seem to be muddy even after all of this time we have had discussing it. There is a great divide amongst music fans on whose side they are on. It seems anytime people post about anything Megan-related, #FreeTory’s reign supreme in the comments section. On the opposite end, women are obviously on the Texas rapper’s side. One person who firmly has the Canadian’s support is DJ Akademiks.

The rap insider and internet troll loves to get under people’s skin at any given time. That we all know by now. Just look at the recent beef with Yung Miami and Saucy Santana. Additionally, it seems that he heavily favors men in any situation as he constantly has something negative to say about any female artist. DJ continues that same trend in a recent interview. He revealed that he called Tory from prison to check in on his well-being. It all started because he was asked if he thinks Tory shot Megan.

Akademiks did not want to give an answer because he felt all the truths had not been revealed yet. What he can say is that the incarcerated rapper is in good spirits even after being sent to a supermax prison right before the end of October. The interviewer questioned him about how he feels about the new Megan Thee Stallion’s tell-all single, “Cobra.” Let us just we are not too surprised by his answer. “S*** was trash.” However, to his credit, he did say he is still a fan of Megan’s so that maybe negates it?

What are your initial thoughts on DJ Akademiks’ comments about Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion? Are they fair or foul? Do you think he is just hating to hate on Megan’s new song, “Cobra?” We would like to know what you have to say about all of this. Nicki Minaj Reflects On Her Past Body Comments & Thoughts On Her Curves

Nicki Minaj recently graced the cover of American Vogue for the first time, accompanied by her son Papa Bear and a year after she called the publication out. It seems like they let bygones be bygones, and she touched upon a lot of different topics during their interview together. Moreover, one of the aspects of the 40-year-old’s career that she reflected on was her early adoption of body modifications and the voluptuous image she broke onto the scene with. While she has no regrets and feels at peace with her body today, she did remark on how she’s learned to appreciate herself beyond that, and doesn’t want to push that on anyone else.

“I just looked at a video that I posted on Instagram when I was 25,” Nicki Minaj expressed to Vogue during their conversation together. “I would f***ing pay to look like that right now. But today, I can say that I’m at peace with who I am and how I look. Recently, I had to get a breast reduction, and actually, I love it. I used to want a bigger butt, and now I look back and realize how silly that was.

Nicki Minaj On Body Positivity: “Love Your Curves & Love Your Non-Curves”

“So, love your curves, and love your non-curves,” the Trinidadian MC continued. “There’s nothing wrong with any of it.” In addition, Nicki Minaj also spoke on how she’s trying to set a better example for her little one with her lifestyle, whether in regards to health or concerning image. “I’ve made certain choices for my son, to not give him sweets and candy and juices, because of illnesses like diabetes that run in our community,” she shared. “I’m not in favor of body positivity if it means unhealthy bodies. That’s bull. It’s not believable, so let’s stop pretending.”

Meanwhile, with a potential reconciliation with Remy Ma on the cards, fans are more excited than ever for the Queen’s upcoming album, Pink Friday 2. Diddy’s Ex-Bodyguard Addresses Keefe D Relationship: “He Was Around”

Diddy’s alleged involvement in Tupac Shakur’s murder has become one of the hottest old-school hip-hop stories of the year. Not only are other rappers throwing in their two cents (or 50 cents, we should say), but it revived general interest in the circumstances behind the West Coast legend’s tragic loss. Moreover, folks within these inner circles with more firsthand experience with these figures are vouching for them. For example, former Bad Boy bodyguard Gene Deal spoke to The Art Of Dialogue on Thursday (October 26) about this debacle. He didn’t claim to have any solid information on whether Puff did anything, but he knows that his client knew Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the main suspect in the case who is currently in custody and accused of taking orders from the mogul in many’s eyes in the rap community.

“Keefe D, I’ve seen him a number of times,” the security guard expressed. “[He and Diddy] were gambling together, they were drinking together, they had fun, they was hanging out in hotels. Yes, they did have a relationship. As far as me having any information whether he commissioned Keefe D to do a murder, nah bruh, that ain’t me. They can ask me, did I see Keefe D? Yes, I did. Was he around? Yes, he was.”

Diddy’s Ex-Bodyguard’s Convo With The Art Of Dialogue: Watch

Furthermore, Deal stated that, if asked to do so by the case, he would testify and has nothing to hide. However, during another Art Of Dialogue conversation last month, he broke down what he thinks happened to ‘Pac. “Well, the story I heard, which was portrayed in the Murder Rap movie or whatever,” the guard explained. “It was [ex-detective] Greg Kading’s accounts that supposedly Keefe D gave. If you ever been in an interrogation or anything that has to do with some law enforcement, right? Before they get to that videotape, before they get to that camera, it’s already written down what you’re going to say. They going to tell you what they need for you to say and how they need for you to think. What you need to do to get out this situation.

“And Keefe D, no disrespect,” he concluded. “To me, he did what he had to do to walk home. He said what he had to say to be a free man. All the players is dead right now. He’s the only spade left on the table. He gon’ win or he gon’ lose.” For more news and the latest updates on Keefe D and Diddy, come back to HNHH.

Jay-Z’s Full Interview With Gayle King On CBS Is Now Available: Watch

Jay-Z might have the most impressive resumé in hip-hop history, so any interview with him is a gold mine of reflections and revelations. Moreover, he recently held one with Gayle King on CBS, which she conducted at the Brooklyn Public Library’s The Book of HOV exhibit in his hometown. While we’ve gotten a lot of snippets from it so far, such as the rapper’s take on the viral “dinner with Jay or $500K” debate, we now finally have the full interview to watch. It’s about 21 minutes long and goes over pretty much every major aspect of his life and career. After all, the New York legend sat in an exhibit dedicated to his history; it’s all around him, but most importantly, always in him to carry and share.

For example, one prominent point of discussion, especially for hardcore rap fans, was his musical origins and the development of his artistry. Jay-Z sat in a replica of the legendary Baseline Studios, where he recorded much of his most important and excellent material, while recalling the origins of his “One-Take Hov” nickname. Amid various vinyl copies and allusions to his already historically cemented career, he spoke on what it would take for him to release more music. In every sense of the word, this conversation with the 53-year-old is baked with tradition and impact, but also with a newfound sense of self-awareness.

Furthermore, another hot topic that Gayle King spoke to him about was what album of his feels the most important to him. The answer may surprise you, but if you’re a hardcore fan, you might feel the same way. “[Vol 2… Hard Knock Life] is the album that’s the most important album,” Jay-Z stated. “It was the album where I honed my craft as a songwriter and that balance of creating exactly what I want. And just as a writer, a technical song-maker. Song-making skills with real stories is when it all came together on this album.”

Meanwhile, what was your favorite part or revelation from this Gayle King interview? Which hip-hop legend would you like to see sit down for a breakdown like this? Jay-Z Says Blue Ivy Finally Sees Him As A Cool Dad Now

Jay-Z’s recent interview with Gayle King on CBS held a lot of interesting information and revelations, including his thoughts on what it would take for him to drop more music. However, there were much more wholesome moments, too. For example, Hov touched upon his relationship with his 11-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter, which has been the public face of his three children with Beyoncé. Apparently, there was once a time during which Blue Ivy didn’t see her dad as “cool,” and he confessed that things have changed. While it’s bizarre for us to think of the Brooklyn MC as anything less than that, we’ve also never had to hear him tell us to do our homework, so the young dancer has a very unique perspective.

“Do your kids think you’re cool?” King asked Jay-Z. “Um, Blue, she be fronting on me a little bit,” he confessed. “But she… I catch her, I catch her in the corner, you know? Now she askin’ me, you know, if this is cool, you know, or her sneakers or whatever she’s wearing. Yeah, she’s come back. But there was a time when she was like, ‘Dad!’ [covers face embarrassedly]. I was like, ‘I’m cool, I don’t know what you saying.’ At your house, your parents is cool.”

Jay-Z Reflects On How Blue Ivy’s Perception Of Him As A Father Has Evolved: Watch

Along with this family insight, the two also discussed one of the most viral hip-hop debates in recent memory: dinner with Jay-Z or $500K? “You got to take the money,” he believes. “What I’ma say? You got all of that in the music for $10.99. That’s a bad deal. I wouldn’t tell you to cut a bad deal. If you piece it together and really listen to the music for the words for what it is, it’s all there. Everything that I said was going to happen, happened. Everything I said I wanted to do, I’ve done. The blueprint to me and my life and my journey is there already.”

Meanwhile, what would you pick in that debate? Do you still see the legendary lyricist as cool or is he more of a dinosaur within the genre these days? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments down below. Also, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Jay-Z.
