Quavo Dedicates New Solo Album “Rocket Power” To TakeOff

Quavo has yet another tribute planned for his late nephew. The rapper has revealed that his forthcoming solo album, Rocket Power, will be dedicated to TakeOff. During an Instagram Live on May 11, he played some new tracks from the album for fans. Quavo interrupted the stream briefly to check out the NFL’s season schedule drop but returned to continue playing the music. After the live stream, the rapper posted a picture of TakeOff on Instagram. There, he called him a “king” and used the rocket emoji that TakeOff had previously used to promote his own 2018 solo album, The Last Rocket.

TakeOff, Quavo’s nephew, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, last November. The rapper has previously paid tribute to TakeOff on social media. He has now dedicated his upcoming solo project to him, as well. The album, Rocket Power, is Quavo’s first solo release since his 2018 album, QUAVO HUNCHO. The Migos member did not announce a release date for Rocket Power. However, he did teased plenty of new tracks during the Instagram Live, which has since been viewed by thousands of his fans.

Quavo’s Heartbreak Over TakeOff’s Untimely Death

On November 1, 2022, TakeOff was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston. The rapper was 28 at the time of his death. According to police, he was an innocent bystander in the situation. He was caught in the crossfire of a dice game that Quavo and other men were involved in. After an altercation, the game quickly turned violent and resulted in a tragic shooting.

In January, Quavo released the single “Without You,” which he performed at the 2023 Grammy Awards with a photo of TakeOff displayed in the background. Later, the rapper dropped another tribute to his late nephew and collaborator called “Greatness.” This new solo project will Quavo’s first since his debut solo effort Quavo Huncho in 2018. That project featured guest appearances from Drake, 21 Savage, Saweetie, and others. The album debuted at No. 66 on the Billboard 200. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news on Quavo’s upcoming album, Rocket Power. Are you looking forward to new music from Quavo? Let us know in the comment section!

Keke Palmer Drops First Full Album In A Decade, “Big Boss”

Keke Palmer has proven herself time and time again to be a multi-talented individual. She excels in singing, acting, and dancing. Keke rose to fame as the lead of the Nickelodeon show, True Jackson, VP, and has since garnered an Emmy Award for her acting skills. Her career has seen her take on significant roles in movies and TV shows, like her critically-lauded turn in Jordan Peele’s Nope. As time has gone on, Keke has managed to carve out a special place for herself in the industry. Even with her reputation as a living meme, she is taken very seriously as an actress and an artist. That kind of balance is not something just anyone can strike.

Keke Palmer’s fans have eagerly anticipated her project, Big Boss, for quite some time. The new effort is based on her personal experiences, drawing from her career as an actress and a singer. The album is accompanied by a 40-minute film. It features scenes inspired by Keke’s personal life. It is both entertaining and emotional – a perfect companion to the album, which can be described using the same adjectives.

Keke Details Her Journey To Self-Realization

Keke Palmer’s Big Boss opens strong with the track “Views.” On it, she sings about wondering if someone sees her in the same way she sees him. “I’m just tryna view,” she croons. “If you see me in the same light as you.” The album has very few low points, if any. The songs are as catchy as they come, too. “Love Language” is exactly the kind of R&B-Pop crossover that the summer needs. The album is impressive. Furthermore, Keke’s writing, direction, and performance in the Big Boss film only cement her status as an iconic, multi-faceted artist.

In the film, Keke takes on the male-dominated music industry and points out problems that are still very real for women in 2023. A music producer character in the film says, “They always want some sh*t, but they don’t wanna give some sh*t.” Of course, he is suggesting that women must sleep with him for the “honor” of having him produce their song. Around the halfway point, Keke reflects on interactions like this. “Silly me,” she narrates. “For thinking they would ever f*ck with me just off of the strength of my talent.” It’s a sobering scene that shows just how much the singer has had to deal with. Thankfully, she has come out on the other side stronger for it and producing great art like Big Boss and its accompanying film. What do you think of Keke Palmer’s new album? Be sure to let us know in the comments.

NBA YoungBoy Drops 17-Track Mixtape, “Richest Opp”

NBA Youngboy may have just released his latest album a few weeks ago, but he’s back with a new mixtape. Two days ago, the rapper posted the tracklist for Richest Opp on his Twitter account. The mixtape was revealed to have 17 tracks, which is a lot since the album he released in April was 33 songs long. Youngboy does tend to release an insane amount of material, but it’s probably because he has been on house arrest since 2021.

Despite his ongoing beef with Lil Durk and his near-constant online rants, the rapper seems to be living a relatively peaceful life in Utah. However, that’s not to suggest he has no dirty laundry to air out. As evidenced on the new mixtape, he has quite a bit of it. First, Youngboy took on Akademiks and Lil Durk in “B*tch Let’s Do It,” which he released yesterday. Then, earlier tonight, lyrics to “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2” were posted online ahead of the mixtape release. They contained very straightforward disses of huge industry names like Drake, Lil Yachty, and J. Cole.

YoungBoy Lashes Out At The Industry

There are plenty of aggressive tracks on NBA Youngboy’s new mixtape. However, “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2” is definitely a standout for several reasons. First, YB takes on big contemporaries like Drake, J. Cole, and Lil Yachty. He goes for the throat and doesn’t pull a single punch. Another reason the song is a standout is because of the video that the rapper released for it.

Rather than opting for a traditional music video, NBA YoungBoy decided to release an acapella video. It features the rapper sitting in what appears to be a tent, rapping and singing the lyrics to the song straight to the camera. It’s a one-take video, which means that even when the rapper makes a mistake, he keeps going. The sound sounded aggressive as it is, but something about YoungBoy rapping it acapella straight to the viewer makes it all the more intimidating. What do you think of Richest Opp? Let us know in the comments!

Tracklist:

  1. B*tch Let’s Do It
  2. I Got That Sh*t
  3. I Heard

  7. Free Meechy
  8. Father
  9. F*ck The Industry Pt. 2
  10. What You Gonna Do
  11. Perspective
  12. Chopstick (Feat. T.E.N [with Rionfive])
  13. Slimes Go Where I Go
  14. I Shot Qupid

Moneybagg Yo Reveals “Hard To Love” Release Date

One of Memphis’ most rapidly rising MCs is coming back with a new mixtape very soon. Moreover, Moneybagg Yo just announced via social media that his next project Hard To Love: Heartless Edition will release on Friday, May 26, 2023. Not only that, but he also teased via Instagram that another album is also in the works for this year. With this, the “Motion God” rhymer is capitalizing on a lot of teases and hints towards Hard To Love‘s release. In another Instagram post, he had talked about the inspiration behind this tape, part of his Heartless series.

“I gained and lost more than I ever thought I would and had no other safe outlet for all the emotions and dark thoughts that came wit that other than making music,” Moneybagg Yo wrote. “I’m blessed to have an art form to express myself inside & out with you all. Demario is the one that all the s**t happened to but nobody understood that I still gotta wake up and be Bagg every day to provide for my family and continue to carve my legacy but it’s not easy balancing the two.”

Moneybagg Yo’s Hard To Love Due May 26

Elsewhere, he also detailed the struggles he faced in the time after his last project, 2021’s A Gangsta’s Pain. In addition, Moneybagg Yo clarified that he recorded too much material for just one project, hence why he’s blessing us with two this year. While we still don’t know the official release date or title for his next album after Hard To Love, it will likely also release via CMG Records/Interscope. With his other extracurricular avenues in mind, the 31-year-old MC is looking to keep his upward trajectory intact.

However, it’s not like all of his endeavors resulted in popular acclaim, as impressive as they may be. For example, his recently opened restaurant, Cache 42, boasts a $135 40 oz. Tomahawk steak, which many took issue with. Still, you’ve got to know what you’re worth, and it’s really up to whoever’s enjoying the dish to decide. Regardless, let us know if you’re excited for Hard To Love in the comments down below. Also, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Moneybagg Yo.

Deante Hitchcock Enlists DRAM, Big K.R.I.T., Westside Boogie, & More On “Once Upon A Time”

Deante Hitchcock has consistently proven to be a consistent artist who is constantly evolving. Coming out of Atlanta, Hitchcock has certainly been able to separate himself from his various contemporaries. Overall, this is an impressive feat and it has paid off in terms of garnering a fanbase. Although he may not be a mainstream artist, his fans treat him like one. They are constantly clamoring for new music, and with every release, they seem to crave more and more. Consequently, they were happy to hear about his new album Once Upon A Time.

This new project has been teased for quite some time, and now, it is finally here. Overall, there are 16 tracks to soak up here. Moreover, there are plenty of great features from artists like Westside Boogie, DRAM, and even Big K.R.I.T. That said, Hitchcock is the one who shines the most here. The album displays his immense range. Moreover, it also showcases the love that he has for his newborn son. In many ways, this is a concept album about fatherhood.

Deante’ Hitchcock Displays His Range

“At what was shaping up to be a turning point in my life, the world as we know it seemed to stop turning altogether. I watched our world change, and in the midst of it all, I had a son, became a father, and watched my world change as well,” Deante’ Hitchcock explained. “The word ‘son’ feels hella ironic to read, like the sun up in the sky that I used to stare at until it became an almost blinding blue bouncing ball of light, my son came into the world and brought a brightness into my life that could rival that of its homophone.”

This new project is a great step forward for the artist, and we’re sure many of you would agree. Hopefully, he has even more new music on the way. Let us know what you think of this album, in the comments below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from the music world.

Doja Cat Shares Snippet Of New Album During Livestream

Doja Cat is stirring up controversy once again with her latest social media statements. The musician has been building anticipation for her upcoming album by teasing fans with unreleased song snippets on Instagram Live. Today, she revealed that the new album will be titled First of All. She also tweeted about her previous albums, claiming that both Hot Pink and Planet HER were simply “cash grabs.” She added that she could now disappear to an island and spend time with loved ones while fans weep for “mediocre pop.”

Doja Cat has previously tweeted that she is done with pop music, and has also acknowledged that some of her rap verses are not the best. Despite this, she enjoys making music. Doja believes that her resentment towards pop music could be due to the way it is overplayed. She was recently rewarded for reaching a billion spins on the radio. The artist also feels that her music is constantly being shoved down people’s throats. Earlier today, however, Doja finally gave fans a longer taste of new material.

Doja Wasn’t Kidding About “No More Pop”

A few weeks ago, Doja Cat went live on Instagram to give fans a sneak peek of the upcoming album. However, instead of playing full songs, she previewed a few seconds from each track. When fans asked for more, she played one second from the beginning and middle of each song. However, she eventually reverted to her usual trolling behavior, playing bad beats she found on YouTube. While this may have frustrated some fans, Doja appeared to be having fun.

Today, however, Doja gave fans an actual taste of the album. She really wasn’t kidding when she said she wasn’t making pop music. The snippet sounds very much like a modern version of 90s hip-hop. The beat is simple, just a drum machine and a live bassline. In part of the clip, Doja raps over the beat. In another part, the hook can be heard. During that portion, Doja sings the lyrics, “When life’s like this, I’m thankful / when life’s like this, be grateful.” What do you think of the new snippet? Let us know in the comments!

Doja Cat Announces New Album Title, Calls Last Two “Cash Grabs”

Doja Cat is once again making some pretty controversial statements on social media. The singer has been generating excitement for her upcoming album by leaking snippets of unreleased songs on Instagram Live. She also announced that the album’s new title would be First of All. While she was online, she tweeted about her previous albums, as well. Doja claims that both Hot Pink and Planet HER were “cash grabs.” She said that she could now disappear to an island and touch grass while fans weep for “mediocre pop.”

In the past, Doja Cat has tweeted “no more pop” and admitted that some of her rap verses are “mid and corny,” although she enjoys making music. She believes her resentment for pop music may stem from the way it gets overplayed. She was recently awarded for a billion spins on the radio and feels she is constantly being shoved down people’s throats.

Doja Has Already Filmed Her Next Video

Following her appearance at the Met Gala and hosting an after-party with Diddy, Doja Cat has shifted her focus to her upcoming album. She previously teased the album on social media with potential titles. Though none of the songs have been released, the album may be out sooner than we think. Doja Cat was recently spotted filming a music video in Los Angeles, but it is unclear which song the visual will accompany. The Grammy Award-winning artist was seen taking over the city streets in a crop top and jeans.

Recently, Doja Cat’s Instagram feed featured a series of images that appears to be from the same shoot. As the anticipation for Doja’s upcoming album builds, it seems she is leaving her mark on the fashion industry as well. She recently attended the Met Gala dressed as the late Karl Lagerfeld’s cat. Doja took her feline duties seriously, meowing throughout interviews that night. However, she was caught breaking Anna Wintour’s no-smoking rule, which earned her both laughs and backlash. What do you think of Doja’s comments about her previous albums? Do they make you excited to hear what she has coming next? Let us know in the comments!

Conway The Machine Says He Recorded “5 To 6 Albums” Of Music Ahead Of “Won’t He Do It”

Conway The Machine says that he recorded five to six albums worth of material while working on his new album, Won’t He Do It. Conway discussed the making of the record during an interview with Rolling Stone published on Friday. He began by admitting that a swath of artists biting Griselda’s style diminished his enthusiasm for hip-hop.

“Everybody trying to rap over the same type of beats we was rapping on. People was taking our cover art direction, our whole thing that made us us. It seemed it was getting watered down some,” he reflected. “I don’t even like them kind of beats no more. It was boring me. I fell back, but I got that feeling back again like the good old days at Daringer’s house.”

From there, he explained that he recorded “five to six albums worth of material” after going to Denver last summer. “I would lock myself in the studio down in Denver with my boy, Rocky,” he said. “Just out there having shrooms, and it was a good time. It’s just an unreal magical vibe down in Denver. [Denver] unlocked something inside of me, man. I feel alive.”

Won’t He Do It is Conway’s first album since last year’s God Don’t Make Mistakes, and his first post-Shady Records release. The project features Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Fabolous, Juicy J, and more. For the production, Conway worked with Daringer, Khrysis, Justice League, and Juicy J. Rolling Stone wasn’t the only outlet Conway spoke with ahead of the project’s release. He also sat down with Ebro In The Morning, last week. During that interview, he opened up about the 2012 shooting that paralyzed the right side of his face and left him with Bell’s Palsy. “I just wanna inspire people with my story,” he said during the discussion. Check out the title track for Conway’s new album below.

Cardi B Promises That New Album Is Coming Soon On Instagram Live

Since her last album Invasion of Privacy dropped five years ago, Cardi B has been hard at work on her next endeavor. However, she balanced that out between guest features, serving looks, and her usual pop culture contributions. As such, fans patiently waited for months and months and years for her next full-length project, and it looks like it might be around the corner. Moreover, the rapper recently held an Instagram Live session talking to fans earnestly and, in typical Cardi fashion, comically. During her remarks, she revealed a single on the way and said that “this album is coming.”

Unfortunately for Cardi B, she revealed that anxiety and just how busy she’s been for the last few years really cut into her next LP. “I’ve been having a lot of anxiety because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour, and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids,” the 30-year-old remarked. “When it comes to music and everything, I just be feeling like I don’t be liking anything,” she said. “I feel like I got so many songs, and I don’t like anything. I feel like nothing is good enough… And I got so much money saved up I just be like, ‘Yeah, whatever the f**k.’”

Cardi B’s Next Album “Is Coming”

Furthermore, that nervousness even extends to her fashion sense… well, kind of. “Every single time that I got to the Met, it’s fun of course,” Cardi B revealed in a behind-the-scenes video from the Met Gala. “After my first time going to the Met, I always get anxiety. And the anxieties just grow and grow and grow. Maybe because my looks are so spectacular that people just expect every year to be more amazing than the last. And it’s so hard because imagine competing with myself. That is sickening.”

Meanwhile, it’s not like the “Get Up 10” MC kept fans starving during this time. Through singles like “WAP,” “Hot S**t,” and “Up,” fans still enjoyed much of her recent material. While nothing’s set in stone yet, hopefully the Bronx star isn’t just playing with fans’ emotions. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Cardi B.
