Joe Budden Responds to NBA Youngboy by Reading His Numbers: ‘I’m Way Bigger Than Him’

Joe Budden Reacts to Logic’s “It Was a Good Day” Cover

Joe Budden and NBA Youngboy have gone back and forth over the past few days. Their rift began after Budden delivered his opinion on Youngboy’s music during episode 680 of his self-titled podcast.

“You ready to tell the truth about NBA Youngboy,” Budden said. “That nigga is trash. He is horrible. He is horrible. He is really, really, really, really, really bad.”

For clarity, Budden’s co-host Ish asked if he was speaking about music or as a person. “I don’t know him as a person, I’m only speaking about the music,” Budden replied. He then details how he is a star due to a record label push, which he seems to have backed away from.

Holding a stack of money from his house arrest location in Utah, YoungBoy would respond. “Don’t speak on me, don’t rat on me,” he stated.

In a JBTV group online, Budden stated: “I’m way bigger than him. Stop this.” Then, Budden ran off YoungBoy’s latest numbers. “The point is, you doing a lot for somebody that don’t sell more than 60,000 records.”

NBA YoungBoy Battles Legal Pushback In Bid To Alleviate House Arrest

NBA YoungBoy Stream

Federal prosecutors are opposing NBA YoungBoy’s plea to ease the restrictions of his house arrest, citing concerns about his mental health and declining music sales. The Louisiana rapper’s attorney filed a petition, seeking modifications to the conditions of his house arrest, but the prosecution is strongly contesting the motion.

Mental Health Matters

NBA YoungBoy is facing a legal battle involving his Utah house arrest. On Monday, Nov. 27, NBA YoungBoy’s attorney, William K. Morris, filed a petition to modify the conditions of his current house arrest and is facing heavy pushback from the prosecution.

The rapper’s legal team argued that his current confinement has taken a toll on his emotional well-being, leading to weight loss, sleep deprivation, and a sense of hopelessness regarding his future career prospects. Prosecutors are opposing this request, sparking a heated debate over the extent of the “Right Foot Creep” rapper’s mental health concerns and his ability to seek proper treatment.

Prosecutors Say No

Assistant U.S. Attorney William K. Morris expressed:

“The United States fails to see how the defendant’s current conditions of pretrial release prohibit him from seeking and obtaining mental health treatment. Being confined to his home and unable to complete his employment obligations has led to great anxiety, depression, loss of weight and sleep. NBA YoungBoy has been visibly stressed and has expressed concern and loss of hope that he will be able to return to his contracted employment obligation.”

As the Baton Rouge native’s legal team attempts to have a federal court alleviate the house arrest terms due to depression and mental health issues, prosecutors say they disagree.

The prosecution argues that NBA YoungBoy has access to adequate means of addressing his mental health struggles, refuting the need to relax his confinement. As the legal battle continues, how the court will rule remains uncertain, impacting the rapper’s mental well-being.

NBA Youngboy Is Gettin’ Free!

As NBA Youngboy continues to await trial on his federal gun charges, his legal team is working double time. They have now asked that the Louisiana rapper to be released on bond.

Youngboy’s Legal Teams Wants House Arrest

The last time his team requested bond for the rapper, it was denied.  However, things are different this time around. His attorneys are now requesting that Youngboy be relocated to his Utah residence to serve his time on house arrest. In this request, he would have access to his in-home studio and would be monitored by a private security team.

Prosecutors were unsure, noting that he was in a fight in jail and may be harmful to himself or others.

The judge has now granted NBA Youngboy a bond and will allow him to stay on house arrest in his Utah home until his trial.

Youngboy Makes Album Announcement From Jail

Recently, Youngboy announced he’s dropping a compilation with artists from his label under Motown records.

NBA Youngboy has been dominating the music industry and has no plans on stopping soon. The rapper has been gearing up for yet another highly anticipated release following the success of his most recent album “Sincerely Kentrell”.

Queen Naija On NBA Youngboy Collab: “I Judged His Persona On The Media”

If there’s one thing you can count on from Queen Naija, it’s the simple fact that she gon’ sing her ass off.

Boasting 9.5 million followers on Instagram alone, the singer-songwriter built her following on Youtube and social media first, before converting all her focus and energy on her artistry. Now, the “Butterflies” recording artist returns to the core of who she is: releasing her newest project titled After The Butterflies.

Clocking in at 10 tracks, the EP speaks volumes to her current relationship with Clarence White, whom she shares a child with. After The Butterflies sees Queen wearing her heart on her sleeve, with standout features from NBA Youngboy, Monica, Ella Mai, and Eric Bellinger.

To celebrate the new release, Queen Naija hosted an exclusive, intimate listening session for the new project, taking over Grandmaster Recorders in Hollywood, California. The turnout was incredible, with celebrity sightings from Reginae Carter, Lala Milan, Taina Williams, Baby Tate, Eric Bellinger, and more.

In addition to playing the project in full, Queen Naija did a Q&A with Kendra G.

When it was time to discuss the fan favorite, “No Fake Love” with NBA Youngboy, Queen admitted to judging a book by its cover.

Queen Naija states, “I ain’t gon’ lie, I judged his persona on the media. I was like, how is we gon’ do this song together? I’m such a sweet little bubbly girl, he’s like this real [serious face]. But it turned out good. It’s a cute song about telling people not to play with you, really talking my stuff.”

Chris Brown Scores Another Top 10 Album As NBA Youngboy, Meek Mill And Rick Ross Sell More Than 30k

Chris Brown’s new studio album 11:11 sees the R&B star once again in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Every single one of his projects have scored top 10 debuts, with 11:11 coming in at 9th. While it’s the lowest debut on the charts for an album in his career so far, it’s still a monumentally impressive achievement. It’s Brown’s first studio album since 2009’s Graffiti to debut outside the top 5, with that album turning up at number 7. The project sold 44k copies placing it above albums released this year from artists like Don Toliver, Jack Harlow, and Trippie Redd.

It also debuted above some other big rap albums that came out the same week. NBA Youngboy released his 4th album of 2023 Decided 2. The project landed the third highest first week sales of the 4 projects pushing 35k units in its first week. Meek Mill and Rick Ross also teamed up for a new collaborative album called Too Good To Be True. Their star-studded collaborative project sold just over 31k copies in its first week. All three projects were out-sold by new albums from K-pop group Stray Kids and country singer Chris Stapleton this week.

Chris Brown’s New Album Puts Him Back In The Top 10

Meek Mill already shared his thoughts on his new album’s first week sales following the early predictions. While some fans were disappointed by the numbers he and Rick Ross ended up with, he saw things differently. He saw the dip in sales as a worthwhile sacrifice for going outside the industry machine and making sure that he and Rick Ross own all of their music.

Chris Brown managed his sales numbers after surprise dropping his album a day early. He was originally planning on dropping the project on November 11, which is fittingly 11/11. But fans found the project released a day early on November 10. What do you think of the first week sales for new albums from Chris Brown, NBA Youngboy, Meek Mill, & Rick Ross? Let us know in the comment section below.

NBA YoungBoy Samples Kanye West’s “POWER” In New Song Preview: Watch

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to NBA YoungBoy fans that days after dropping off another album, he’s already got unreleased snippets surfacing online. So far in 2023, the Louisana native has been on a roll. He kicked things off with a featureless, 19-track effort, I Rest My Case, before working with Mariah The Scientist, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and The Kid LAROI on Don’t Try This At Home. Since then, YB has further expanded his discography with Richest Opp, and more recently, Decided 2. The latter hit DSPs this past New Music Friday (November 10), with just one guest appearance from Rod Wave on “Better Than Ever.”

So far, “Deep Down,” “My Body,” and “Free Sex” are all emerging as fan favourites, though were curious to see how the LP will age. As HipHopDX reports, an affiliate of the 24-year-old gave his Instagram followers a preview of what else YoungBoy has been cooking up lately, including a tribute to Kanye West. Using a sample of the embattled star’s “POWER” track from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the Southern superstar gives the original lyricist his flowers. “RIP to the Donda, now I’m the biggest scholar / I got my own playlist, I say Kanye’s better,” he rhymes.

NBA YoungBoy Appears to Have More Heat Cooking Up

As is the case with most of the Baton Rogue-born star’s songs, not everyone is immediately feeling what they’re hearing. “He was going to off, then he started talking on the beat again,” one IG user wrote in Akademiks’ comments, criticizing NBA’s flow. “We listening to the same thing? This hard!” another person replied to the discourse.

Having the support of NBA YoungBoy behind him has to feel pretty good for Kanye West as he inches toward dropping another album of his own. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all love for the father of four, as his wife Bianca Censori’s Australian friends reportedly held an intervention to help her acknowledge his “controlling” behaviour during her trip home this month. Read more about that at the link below, and let us know if you want YB to drop his full track sampling “POWER” in the comments.

NBA YoungBoy’s “Decided 2” Album Preceded By Cryptic IG Message: “I Ain’t Got No F**king Friends Thug”

NBA YoungBoy’s 2023 album run has been one of the most impressive we’ve seen this year, but just because he’s putting out music consistently doesn’t mean it’s all roses and rainbows in the Louisana native’s life. Rather, the lyricist shared that he’s been feeling particularly isolated in an Instagram Story before his Decided 2 LP hit DSPs at midnight. The sole feature on the 18-track LP comes from Rod Wave on “Better Than Ever,” and interestingly, the 24-year-old noted before dropping that he’s feeling particularly lonely as of late.

“I ain’t got no f**king friends thug,” YB wrote over a black screen on Thursday (November 9) afternoon. “Y’all the ones got it twisted, ain’t nobody here for me when I’m OV. On Sherhonda, I’m gone die on this mountain I own b**ch,” the embattled artist wrote on his Story. “Before I call on you or brake – Top Ni**a,” he added. It’s unclear exactly what set NBA off this time, though it’s possible the ongoing accusations from one of his children’s mothers could have something to do with it.
