Tokyo Toni Disses Rick Ross: “The Ni**a’s A Rat, He Got The Police Friends And That”

Rick Ross and Drake have given us some bangers over the years, such as “Aston Martin Music,” “Money In The Grave,” and “Diced Pineapples.” Despite all their past success, it seems any chance of reconciliation between the Canadian and Mississippi-born rhymers is obsolete, especially now that diss tracks have been dropped. For the most part, Champagne Papi’s been laughing off all of Ross’ claims about him, including allegations of getting a nose job. The father of one hasn’t given an official response to his former collaborator’s new diss track yet, though other social media stars are putting their pen to work, such as Tokyo Toni.

Toni, the mother of model and influencer Blac Chyna, has become known for writing songs in her home “studio” and posting them online, though some are better than others. What she said about Cardi B over the beat to “Like What” didn’t fly with hip-hop heads, though some of her bars about Ross have us laughing. “How’d he get so rich? / A fat, bald b**ch,” Toni asks, genuine confusion on her face, as music blares in the background.

Blac Chyna’s Mom Refuses to Spare Rick Ross With Her Bars

“Maybach Music? What the f**k is that?” Toni then asks. “The ni**a’s a rat / He got the police friends and that,” the controversial figure adds, reminding listeners of Ross’ history as a correctional officer. “Rick Ross is already dealing with Tia Kemp, now he got this problem too? 😂😂😂,” one Twitter/X user laughed. “The eclipse did something to us,” another joked.

Based on how viciously Rick Ross came for Drake on “Champagne Moments,” we can’t imagine what kinds of things he might have to say to Tokyo Toni. It’s unlikely the reality starlet will get a response from the rapper, but if she did, what do you think Rozay would title the track? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more music/pop culture updates.

Diddy Allegations: G Dep Argues Bad Boy Mogul Deserves “Benefit Of The Doubt”

G Dep, a former Bad Boy Records artist, recently spoke about the allegations plaguing Diddy and argued he deserves the “benefit of the doubt.” Speaking with Fox 5 New York about the topic, he also pleaded with the industry veteran to help him out as he’s gotten hundreds of songs in the vault following his prison release.

“I’m like, when? When did that happen?” he asked the outlet. “We were in the studio for months on end. I don’t know where this is coming from.” From there, he called for Diddy’s help. “Got a lot of songs, bruh,” he said. “I’m looking for you so we can get, you know, some type of musical situation going.”

G Dep isn’t the first associate of Diddy’s to speak out in his defense. Stevie J recently denied all the claims against him during an interview with TMZ. “I’ve never seen my man doing anything foul like they talking about,” Stevie told the outlet. “I’ve never seen it, I’ve known him for 29 years.” The drama for Diddy began when Cassie sued him for sexual abuse and more back in November. Although they quickly settled, a number of other alleged victims came forward in the months since. Finally, Homeland Security agents raided his properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a sex trafficking investigation, last month. Check out G Dep’s full comments on the matter below.

G Dep Speaks On Diddy Relationship

Throughout the stretch of time, Diddy has denied all of the claims against him and isn’t facing any criminal charges. His lawyer, Aaron Dyers, labeled the raids on his properties a “gross overuse of military-level force” in a statement at the time. Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

J Cole’s “Might Delete Later” Misses No. 1 Debut, Beyonce’s “COWBOY CARTER” Takes Top Spot

With his last six album releases, J Cole has confidently held onto the Billboard 200 album chart’s No. 1 spot. When it came time to drop his Might Delete Later project earlier this month, however, he had some serious competition from Beyonce, whose dive into country is continuing to do numbers even after its first week out. Upon arriving on DSPs, COWBOY CARTER became the best-selling record of 2024 so far, moving upwards of 400K units.

Though it was initially expected to come in at No. 2, it looks like Queen B has nabbed the top spot on the chart again this week, bumping Cole’s work down to second. As HipHopDX notes, the surprise mixtape brought in 115K album equivalent units over the past few days, which is still impressive, even if it ends his over 10-year streak. 2011’s Cole World: The Sideline Story was the first of the MC’s LP’s to go No. 1, and 2021’s The Off-Season marks the last time he achieved the accolade. Besides his solo efforts, the Dreamville compilation tape, Revenge of the Dreamers III became a chart-topper in 2019, making it the label head’s seventh overall.

J Cole Was Heading for Billboard’s No. 1, but Bey Ultimately Beat Him

The loss is likely tough for the father of two, but he and Bey have previously collaborated so we’re hoping there’s no bad blood. In 2011, Cole joined the Houston native to remix “Party,” which he revealed he was initially supposed to be on the original version of. “Just the fact to even be on the song with her and shoot the video with her and just be in her presence. She’s such a hard-working, incredible artist,” he said on the Rise & Grind Morning Show last year.

The men of hip-hop have been feuding non-stop in recent weeks, and though he’s usually a peaceful person, even J Cole found himself in the middle of Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s drama. However, after coming for K-Dot on “7 Minute Drill,” the North Carolina native ultimately left the diss track off his Might Delete Later project, though it still landed on the Billboard Hot 100. Read all about that at the link below, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

TDE’s Punch Calls Out B.Dot For His “Hater” Take On SZA

It’s no secret that SZA is one of the most successful artists of the past few years, even recently securing multiple Grammy awards for her 2022 LP SOS. According to Brian “B.Dot” Miller, however, she’s not all that she’s cracked up to be. Earlier this week, the personality took to Twitter/X to weigh in on one of Spotify’s new billboards in NYC, which gives the St. Louis-born performer her flowers for her hit track “Snooze.”

“SZA’s ‘Snooze’ is the greatest R&B song of the streaming era,” the billboard reads. B.Dot’s not buying it, chiming in with one simple word. “Propaganda,” he wrote. Of course, the remark sparked a major debate in his own replies. While some users agreed and responded with their own favorite R&B tracks, others were quick to call him out for the apparent shade. Top Dawg Entertainment executive punch even decided to weigh in, making it clear that he disagrees and suggesting that B.Dot’s stance stems from a more personal issue.

B.Dot Calls SZA’s Success “Propaganda”

“You can’t be a hater your whole life champ,” he told the journalist. “You should rebrand. lol.” B.Dot didn’t waste any time clapping back. “Wait… Are you trying to get a rise out of me punch?” he asked, prompting Punch to reply with a series of laughing emojis. It’s fair to say that Punch could be a bit biased when it comes to SZA. After all, he is the songstress’s manager. With that being said, “Snooze” is pretty iconic, and was crowned the No. 1 R&B song of the streaming era by Spotify earlier this month. The platform put Frank Ocean’s “Pink + White” just behind the record-breaking single, praising SZA for her creativity and vocal abilities.

What do you think of Brian “B.Dot” Miller’s take on SZA’s success? Do you agree that it’s all “propaganda”? What about Punch’s reaction? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Rick Ross Urges Lil Yachty To Take This Stance On Drake Amid OVO/MMG Beef

Out of all the beefs to pop up or resurface due to WE DON’T TRUST YOU and “Like That,” the Drake and Rick Ross battle is easily the most developed and eventful right now. Although it’s mostly just social media trolling, they’re making their animosity towards each other very clear, but one party is making a lot of claims about the other. Moreover, Rozay recently took to his Instagram Story to urge one of the Toronto superstar’s closest current collaborators to distance himself. “Yacht Put ya phone on silent lil bro.. [100 emoji],” he captioned a picture of Lil Yachty. “#BBLDRIZZY CALLING AGAIN [nose emoji] [hand emoji] [crying-laughing emoji].”

In addition, Rick Ross also had this to say for the Let’s Start Here. creative: “YACHT AKA THE PEN.” This is because of an alleged leak of Lil Yachty’s reference track for Drake, which is identical in terms of the melodic flow and lyrics to the Her Loss cut, “Jumbotron S**t Poppin.” Of course, equating this collaboration to other ghostwriting claims is quite misguided. After all, the Georgia native has both production and writing credits on this song.

Rick Ross’ Message To Drake’s “Pen,” Lil Yachty

However, what makes this situation a little more tricky is the fact that we’re talking about Drake, who fans hold in high regard as either raps’ biggest commercial juggernaut or even as one of the greatest of all time. As such, fans debated whether taking Lil Yachty’s entire reference track for himself discredits his claim to the throne, and some argued that giving credit doesn’t mean that it isn’t a bad look. Still, others stood by the idea that the 6ix God is putting on for himself and for Yachty with just one song. We’re sure that they both got some substantial cash for this song and the album’s performance, and perhaps more success than the 26-year-old would’ve found if he dropped this as a solo track.

But where do you fall on this debate: staunch credibility or lenient hit-making? What about the seemingly debunked ghostwriting claims that Aubrey’s biggest current rival Kendrick Lamar got hit with recently? Whatever the case, let us know down in the comments section below. Also, come back to HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Rick Ross, Lil Yachty, and Drake.

Justice Department Readies Live Nation Antitrust Lawsuit Following Ticketmaster’s Taylor Swift Debacle

The U.S. Department of Justice is reportedly readying an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment which, according to the Wall Street Journal, they will file next month. The company will face scrutiny over accusations they’ve used their dominance of the market to undermine consumers. The news comes after the company’s subsidiary Ticketmaster faced enormous backlash for its handling of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in 2022.

Following that incident, Joe Berchtold, Live Nation’s president and chief financial officer, testified in front of the Senate. Lawmakers grilled him on a lack of transparency regarding ticket fees, the company’s inability to block bot purchases of tickets, and more. Backlash towards the company came from both sides of the aisle.

Concert Ticket Industry Executives Testify In Front Of Senate

WASHINGTON, DC – JANUARY 24: (L-R) Joe Berchtold, president and CFO of Live Nation Entertainment, Inc.; Jack Groetzinger, CEO of SeatGeek; Jerry Mickelson, CEO and president of Jam Productions; Sal Nuzzo, senior vice president of the James Madison Institute; Kathleen Bradish, vice president for legal advocacy at the American Antitrust Institute; and singer/songwriter Clyde Lawrence are sworn in before the Senate Judiciary Committee January 24, 2023 in Washington, DC. The committee heard testimony on the topic “That’s the Ticket: Promoting. Competition and Protecting Consumers in Live Entertainment”, in the wake of problems surrounding access to ticket purchases for Taylor. Swift performances. (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images)

“The way your company handled ticket sales for Ms. Swift was a debacle, and whoever in your company was in charge of that should be fired,” Republican Senator John Kennedy said at the time. “If you care about the consumer, cut the price! Cut out the bots! Cut out the middle people and if you really care about the consumer, give the consumer a break!” Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar remarked: “To have a strong capitalist system, you have to have competition. You can’t have too much consolidation — something that, unfortunately for this country, as an ode to Taylor Swift, I will say, we know ‘all too well.’”

The Justice Department also previously accused Live Nation of bullying ticket venues into using Ticketmaster back in 2019. Be on the lookout for further updates on Live Nation on HotNewHipHop.

Beyonce’s Country Album, Taylor Swift, And Lana Del Rey Don’t Have Courtney Love’s Approval

In her new interview with Standard, Courtney Love had a lot to say. For starters, she doesn’t mind being the villain in someone else’s story. “People used to say that I was so difficult,” she told the UK-based outlet. “They said I was disagreeable. Yes, I am completely disagreeable and I’m never going to apologize for that. I always wanted to be known as a b**ch,” the blonde icon said. According to her, the late Kurt Cobain sought social approval, while Love couldn’t be bothered wasting her energy on such things.

The musician has been promoting her new eight-part BBC Radio 6 Music series, which follows her as she reflects on other women in the industry who have shaped her journey. Among them are Black classics like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, though Love had plenty to say about female entertainers she’s less fond of too. “I like the idea of Beyonce doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only White women have been allowed, not that I like it much. As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music,” the Hole frontwoman said.

Courtney Love Has Plenty to Say About Other Women in the Music Industry

Elsewhere, her comments about another modern starlet are catching major heat online. “Taylor [Swift] is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist,” Love declared. Of Lana Del Rey, the 59-year-old added, “I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off. Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ I thought she was great.”

No matter how Courtney Love might feel about Beyonce’s eighth studio album, we can’t deny the impact COWBOY CARTER has had so far. While the vocalist’s first-born, Blue Ivy Carter, joined her for most of the RENAISSANCE World Tour, it was Rumi’s turn to shine on the country-based LP. Thanks to the young girl’s work, she broke a record on the Billboard Hot 100 previously set by her older sister.
