Over the weekend, Rick Ross was caught off guard after a performance at Vancouver’s Ignite Music Festival. Reportedly, he had his DJ play Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” prompting tension in the crowd. Eventually, an alleged Drake fan confronted him with a punch to the face, resulting in a huge brawl.
As expected, the footage went viral, and Ross’ ex-wife Tia Kemp was quick to weigh in. She roasted the hitmaker for what she saw as a failed attempt to fight back, made fun of his physical appearance, and more. She later showed love to Drake in the comments section of one of his latest Instagram posts, which he responded to by calling her his “goat.”
This clearly rubbed Ross the wrong way, as he later tagged them both, writing “pedo vs. granny.” She didn’t appreciate the diss and rushed online to fire back. In a new clip, Kemp questions why Ross is calling her a “granny” while he himself is still having babies despite having an adult son. “Every baby you’ve been having is aunties and uncles by the time they’re days old,” she said. “They can’t even enjoy being a f*cking newborn. Kemp also added a few more jabs about his altercation in Canada, making it clear that she won’t be holding back anytime soon. It’s bound to happen that songs with the same exact title exist, but it was a little bit strange when it happened with two popular artists over the past year: Dua Lipa dropped “Houdini” in November 2023, then Eminem came through with his own song of the same name this May. Both of those tunes, though, are behind Foster The People’s “Houdini,” from their hit 2011 debut album Torches.
Now, Foster The People have decided to have some fun with all the magical tracks and make a mash-up.
The band’s Mark Foster shared a video explained the he thought it’d be fun to mash up the three songs, so he gave it a go. The video then shows him in a studio, tweaking with various aspects of all three songs before finding a way to combine them into the resulting mash-up.
Foster The People has a new album, Paradise State Of Mind, set for release on August 16, and it’ll be their first album in a while, since 2017’s Sacred Hearts Club. Meanwhile, Eminem just released a new song today: “Tobey,” with Big Sean and BabyTron. As for Lipa, she’s fresh off the release of her latest album, Radical Optimism.
Proof’s son, NASAAN, says that he’s been sleeping at Big Sean’s house while staying in Los Angeles, and in turn, he’s been hard at work on the rapper’s upcoming album. He discussed collaborating on the project with AllHipHop at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday.
“It’s crazy because Sean is somebody, bro, I grew up just idolizing, you know what I’m saying? I copied his flows, I mirrored his style so much to now we’re friends,” he said. “I’ve been sleeping at this house since I’ve been out here [in L.A.] just like [he’s] my dog. So it’s just crazy. Those full-circle moments and almost manifesting it. The universe got a weird way of working. It’s just crazy. Like, dang. The person I was a fan of is now a fan of me.”

Childish Gambino has fans feeling as free as he seems on his brand-new single “Lithonia”. The veteran multi-talent just released the lead-off track for Bando Stone & The New World moments ago and it is already receiving heaps of praise. Honestly, it is well deserved, as the song beautifully produced and evokes a lot of emotion. Massive credit goes to Gambino, but also the additional producers who were brought on. They include Ludwig Göransson, Max Martin, and Michael Uzowuru, and the instrumentation perfectly matches the tone of the song. From the grand organ in the beginning to the rockin’ guitar licks, it embodies the feeling you get when you release all the stress off your mind.
It seems like that will be a heavy focus thematically speaking for Gambino on his presumed final album. Donald Glover has stated already that this is essentially the sendoff for his onstage moniker. Additionally, Bando Stone & The New World is going to be the accompanying soundtrack for his film of the same name. He is going to be wearing a lot of different hats, as he is directing, acting, and of course composing. While we now know the release date for the project, July 19, we are all still in the dark about when the movie will land in theaters. Gambino did premiere the trailer just yesterday and it will be about a former musician stranded on an island in an apocalyptic world.
While a lot of people are looking forward to the motion picture, fans are loving what Gambino did on “Lithonia”. The raw emotion on the single is what the internet is loving about it with one person writing, “Finally, music has the IT back. The FEELING is back. We been missin it.” Another adds, “this made me wanna go do something with my life”. With the album coming in just a couple of weeks, the days are going to fly by now as we now know that this is it for Childish Gambino. Joe Budden discussed Kendrick Lamar’s criticism of Drake as being a “colonizer” in hip-hop during a recent appearance on the BagFuel podcast. While he didn’t come right out and agree with the take, he discussed the merits of Lamar’s argument. On his viral diss track, “Not Like Us,” Lamar raps: “You run to Atlanta when you need a few dollars / No, you not a colleague, you a f*ckin’ colonizer.”
“Culture is where Kendrick was shifting his conversation: how do you dress? Who’s your barber? Are you a good dad? Can you dance? Your slaps? What’s your hood? Did you have a nickname growing up? It goes without saying that it’s been a rough couple of days for Ray J. Yesterday, footage of him getting into a heated argument with Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer surfaced online, though it’s unclear exactly what prompted the debacle. Things nearly got physical, as Ray took a swipe at Plummer, but onlookers were able to break things up before it escalated to that point.
Ray J later took to his Instagram Story with a lengthy message, revealing that he was struggling with his mental health. In his post, he mentioned taking a break at the BET Awards while working backstage, then being denied reentry. “I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see,” he said of the incident. “It was weird.” The post left fans extremely concerned for his well-being, which he’s yet to address.
Now, however, footage from the BET Awards obtained by TMZ has provided fans with a bit more insight. In the footage, Ray is seen standing outside of his car, chatting with security at the event. Eventually, his shirt comes off, and he appears to get heated. “I didn’t bring the ghetto to BET yet, but I’m about to,” he said. Sources who spoke with the outlet claim that Ray J had been going in and out of the event all night without wearing his credentials, which is what prompted security to lock him out for good.
They also say that Ray J believes there could be a racial element to the story as well, as the security guard who refused to let him back in is reportedly white.
