Nicki Minaj Canceled A Romanian Festival Performance At The Last Minute Over ‘Safety Concerns’

Nicki Minaj fans in Romania were left disappointed this weekend.

As NME notes, Minaj was supposed to perform at Saga Festival in Bucharest yesterday (July 7), but that same day, the rapper announced she would not perform.

Minaj wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

“Out of concern for the well-being of our team and myself, I have been advised by my security detail not to travel to Romania’s festival tonight due to safety concerns regarding protests in the area. I look forward to seeing you all at another time. As a mom, I have to make sure I’m making sound decisions for me to make it home to my son and for my team to make it home to their families. To not heed the advice of security at this time is simply not what I think I should be doing. I love you and thank you for your understanding and support.

I am very excited to see my fans this Friday in London for another very special headlining show at Wireless Festival.”

This comes after Minaj was apparently the target of Megan Thee Stallion lyrics on the new album Megan, such as this one from “Figueroa”: “I’m a motherf*cking brat, not a Barbie / On go with any b*tch that wanna start it.”

Consequently, he is officially done with the country. He is no longer interested in trying again, at least not in the foreseeable future.

This subsequently led to a rehash of a 2020 report in which it was revealed how Drake helped Roddy get into Canada. However, there is no concrete proof of that. Instead, the internet is doing what it does best: conjecture.

Megan Thee Stallion’s First Week Sales For “MEGAN” Draw Mixed Reactions

Megan Thee Stallion finally came through with MEGAN, her long-awaited solo comeback since going independent, and it certainly made a splash. The album landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart with around 64K in first-week sales, which has caused a field day on social media thanks to the Houston femcee’s beef with Nicki Minaj, among other considerations. For one, Barbz were cackling at 64K considering that Pink Friday 2 sold almost four times that in its first week. On the other hand, music fans at large might not find these numbers as impressive, but albums sales just aren’t what they used to be across the board for most artists… well, unless you’re Taylor Swift, that is.

Regardless, Megan Thee Stallion fans are still pretty happy with these numbers, bringing up no big features and label issues from going independent, plus little radio play, as obstacles that should’ve resulted in even less than 64K. Also, in terms of visibility and social media conversation, Meg’s not going anywhere anytime soon and is working hard to cater to her hardcore fans. But Nicki Minaj already seemed to dismiss MEGAN‘s first-week sales, and comparison is the thief of joy. Maybe if they actually had a back-and-forth diss track showdown, fans could depend on this metric for their discussions.

However, we also know that some factors jeopardized the legitimacy of MEGAN‘s numbers, and at least they caught it before first-week sales numbers hit. Spotify reportedly removed 30 million streams from Megan Thee Stallion’s albums numbers on the platform, allegedly due to these being bot streams. While we don’t actually know the reason why this change occurred, it still drew the ire and defense of many fans online. Especially considering Tina Snow’s blasting of bots on “HISS,” it’s not the best look, albeit one that she likely had nothing to do with.

Meanwhile, the “Otaku Hot Girl” femcee is living large these days, enjoying every last second of this MEGAN rollout amid all the chaos. It will be interesting to see what sticks around from this tracklist and if the album as a whole will continue to perform commercially. After all, no one’s doubting that Megan Thee Stallion could very well best these numbers with some big promos, headlines, or other supportive releases. So let’s see what happens, and what will be the next Billboard debut to debate.

Eminem fans have been waiting patiently for his new album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) ever since it was announced, and recently, they got an inadvertent sneak peek at what’s allegedly to come. X user @SyrianAlmond shared a screenshot from the Apple Music app yesterday (July 6), suggesting that the platform accidentally made the tracklist public while making it available to pre-save and later removed it.

Of course, fans were quick to take note of the features included on the list. Artists like J. Cole, JID, Black Thought, Tech N9ne, Ez Mil, and Royce Da 5’9″ are expected to appear. Billie Eilish is even listed as a featured artist on one track, and both Dr. Dre and 50 Cent are listed on another.

Trolls Booed Ice Spice And Taylor Swift’s Collaboration At Rolling Loud, So The Rapper Graciously Clapped Back

You thought the crowd was feeling you? Well, Ice Spice surely hoped so. The “Gimme A Light” rapper’s Y2K! World Tour is off to a rough start.

During Open’er Festival, fans grew concerned about Ice Spice’s wellbeing after she seemed disassociated onstage. Today (July 7) the recording artist came face-to-face with a sea of trolls at Rolling Loud Europe. As Ice Spice performed “Karma (Remix),” her collaboration with Taylor Swift, the Austrian audience began to boo.

Initial, Ice Spice seemed confused by the reaction (especially considering Swift’s global reach). But, shortly after the audience flashed a few thumbs down motions toward her, Ice Spice responded by blowing a kiss.

Users online applauded Ice Spice’s action while clowning the overwhelmingly male perpetrators.

“Men used to go war, and now they show up to Ice Spice sets and hate on a woman 1,000,000 times out of their league,” wrote one user.

“Imagine going to an Ice Spice set, then booing Taylor Swift when their collab plays. What losers,” penned another.

“TayBlessings for Ice,” chimed another.

“Love her. Men are f*cking weird,” added another.

Taylor Swift and Ice Spice’s friendship has continued to blossom since their song. They were even spotted together at Super Bowl 2024. Based on Ice Spice’s defense of Swift, they will remain strong.

6ix9ine’s Seized Vehicles Appear On Government Auction Website

Back in April of this year, it was reported that two of 6ix9ine’s vehicles were seized due to alleged “nonpayment of internal revenue taxes.” The vehicles included a Lamborghini Urus and a Bentley Continental GTC, which are both decorated with rainbow paint splatters. Of course, their unique design made them pretty tough to miss, and photos of them at a facility were quick to turn up online. Shortly after, it was revealed that his entire Florida home had actually been raided, and that authorities took several more of his belongings too.

At the time, 6ix9ine was in the Dominican Republic sorting out some other legal issues. Late last month, he returned to the U.S., though it’s unclear whether or not he plans to stay. What is clear, however, is that he’s unlikely to get his cars back. According to No Jumper, they’re currently up for auction on a government website.

6ix9ine’s Vehicles Have Starting Bids Of $20K

Bidding is set to begin tomorrow (July 8), and each of the vehicles has a starting bid of $20K, which is expected to increase quickly once bids start to roll in. Based on photos from the site, one of the vehicles still has what appears to be a bullet hole in his driver side window, which sparked some concern and speculation shortly after it was confiscated. At the time of writing, it still remains unclear exactly when and how that happened.
