Shakur Stevenson and Cam’ron are combative personalities. The thing is, they usually keep their beef to their respective areas of expertise. Stevenson trash talks other boxers, while Cam’ron makes fun of other rappers on record. Their disdain for one another has resulted in a beef that’s crossed mediums, however. Cam’ron claimed that he would “slap fire” out of the boxer if he ever saw him, and Shakur Stevenson decided to return the favor by saying that he would drop a song on the rapper.
The claim was made via Twitter on July 9. In order to make sense of it, though, we have to go through the entire interaction between Shakur Stevenson, Cam’ron, and Cam’s podcast partner, Mase. The latter two dissed Stevenson on their podcast, It Is What It Is. They claimed that he was a bad fighter, which led to a Twitter exchange in which Stevenson claimed he was “ready for war.” Cam chimed in, noting how easy it was to offend the boxer. “I see why they call you Shakur Twitterson,” the rapper joked. “My n**ga, four hours of tweeting about me and Mase is wild. You boring, n**ga! I thought I was rather polite about it.”
Stevenson had more to say. He proceeded to lay into both rappers, and even make a crack about Mase’s relationship with Diddy. “Boys ain’t gone do sh*t bout it either,” he wrote. “[If] Cam’ron ever lift his hand up this way I’m putting him right out soft ass old n**ga. “Mase go get back on Diddy playing wit yo man hood f*ck boy.” It was the claim that followed that really caught the attention of fans, though. Stevenson decided that he was going to beat Cam and Mase at their own game. “I’m bout to get in the studio next week,” he tweeted. “I’m gone drop a Hit watch.”
To be clear, Shakur Stevenson has never released music. He tried to attack Mase from a musical standpoint, claiming the rapper had a “failed career.” This is where Cam was really able to lay into the boxer. “Mase was Michael Jackson after Michael Jackson, n**ga,” Cam’ron tweeted. “Before Drake. He sold five million in three weeks… Mase is one million percent a better rapper than you are a boxer!” If Shakur Stevenson lives up to his claim, however, fans will get out whether he can hold his own with Cam and Mase on wax.
Earlier this week, one Philadelphia woman’s trip to a local Dollar Tree turned traumatic when an unknown man ejaculated on her leg. In disturbing footage making its rounds online, the victim can be heard shouting at the man as he flees the scene, growing emotional about the vile incident that had just taken place. Authorities are now searching for the man, who’s wanted for indecent assault.
He’s described as at least six feet tall with a “stocky build, a short receding hairline and a full beard.” Those with any information pertaining to the man’s identity or whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251. As reports about the upsetting attack continue to circulate, however, Meek Mill has taken to X to pitch his own idea to his followers.
“Let’s play manhunt with him today in Philly some community service …. I got 2 bands for his lo??? But you gotta connect,” he wrote. “Just go live with him don’t pursue him … it gotta actually be you,” he added in a subsequent Tweet. “Philly small people know where this creep a** dude at ghtfoh… We need community protection also.” Meek’s posts have earned mixed reactions from his followers, who are sounding off in the rapper’s replies. Most can’t blame him for trying to take justice into his own hands considering the circumstances. Some, on the other hand, think he shouldn’t have shared his idea publicly.
Regardless, he’s receiving a great deal of praise for raising awareness about the sickening assault and trying to prevent the man from victimizing others in the future. HipHopDX’s Jeremy Hecht recorded himself asking Siri to play Drake’s Certified Lover Boy on Spotify, and instead, Kendrick Lamar whispers, “Psst, I see dead people,” which is the intro to “Not Like Us.”
As is my journalistic duty, I also asked Siri to play Certified Lover Boy, Drake’s September 2021 album, on Spotify, and Siri played “Not Like Us.” However, the second time I tried it, Siri did play Certified Lover Boy, so it would appear that Siri’s pettiness is limited to one attempt — or Spotify corrected the glitch. Hilarious, nonetheless.
“I mean, love Drake, love Drake, you always could play him,” DeRozan told Fox 40’s Sean Cunningham in response to whether Drake songs can be played during his games with the Sacramento Kings, his new team. “Kendrick’s been a friend of mine — family, damn near family for a long time, for a while. We from the same city, grew up damn near in the same neighborhood. So, it’s always been there. It hasn’t always been publicized, but that’s basically family.”

Earlier this week, Breezy’s mother Joyce Hawkins took to Instagram to share an adorable shot of him alongside his biological father, Clinton Brown. That said, both artists have maintained that they are friends. The former called Chief Keef her “brother” after posting flirtatious photos with him on Instagram. That hasn’t stopped the romance rumors from swirling, however. The rapper placed Chief Keef’s chain in her panties during an IG post in June. She also claimed that her baby daddy went through her text messages with Keef shortly after she gave birth.
Sexyy’s response to Lord Jamar suggests that something sexual went down between her and Chief Keef. Either way, the rapper has grown accustomed to hate from other artists. Sexyy Red actually talked about hate during a new episode of HBO’s The Shop. While the episode premieres July 11, a teaser clip saw Sexyy Red talking about the way that hatred motivates her.
“They still don’t believe in me, so I’m just gonna show you who I am,” she told Andre 3000. “Ain’t nobody doing this.” The Outkast rapper urged Sexyy Red to keep doing what she was doing, and ignore what her critics have to say. “Use it for fuel,” he posited. “Hater fuel, man, it’s the best sh*t.”
As of late, fans have seen plenty of their favorite celebrities popping out for various summer festivities, Azealia Banks included. Instead of a music festival or Independence Day party, however, the “212” rapper recently decided to attend one of Donald Trump’s rallies in Miami. In a clip that surfaced online earlier today, she sported a bright red dress as she supported the former president, who’s seeking reelection this fall.
A fan captured a clip alongside her as Trump discussed subjects like “World War III,” inflation, and more. She appeared to be in good spirits, later reposting another shot of herself at the event on her Instagram Story. Trump’s official Instagram page even shared some photos from the rally yesterday, where she can just barely be made out.
While some are surprised to see her unabashedly riding for the now-convicted felon, others argue that it’s perfectly on brand, and note that this is far from the first time she’s shown him support. Last November, for example, she chatted with The Standard about this year’s election. At the time, she revealed that she planned to vote for Trump, citing his resiliency and sense of humor as deciding factors. “He’s just f*cking funny,” she explained to the outlet. “He’s been through how many bankruptcies? How many wives? How many television shows? Seriously, nothing can take him down.”
Banks previously supported Ron DeSantis, but eventually changed her mind due to his “attacks on drag culture [and] his quarrel with Disney,” according to Evgeny Lebedev. A passerby spits on the tombstone, which bears a familiar quote from the chorus of “Without Me,” then walks away… missing a hand bursting up out of the ground, suggesting that rumors of Mr. Shady’s demise might have been greatly exaggerated.
Em’s spent much of the rollout for the album poking fun at his alter ego, from making him the anachronistic butt of the joke in his “Houdini” video to putting him to the chainsaw in the video for “Tobey” to zipping him into a body bag on the album’s cover. Whether all this means Eminem’s truly retiring the rap persona — or just trolling all of his haters yet again — remains to be seen.
