50 Cent’s Least Favorite “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’” Song Will Surprise You

50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Tryin‘ is one of hip-hop’s most iconic debuts and albums, for better or worse. It’s not as universally beloved as many others in that conversation, but even his haters can’t deny the impact and moment that this project in particular provided. However, even the G-Unit mogul has his issues with it, ones that have aged quite interestingly over the years. Moreover, he recently chose what his least favorite track off the record was during an interview with The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1 in the United Kingdom. Fif’s answer will definitely shock you, but it speaks to how well this song has aged.

“‘Many Men’ was my least favorite at that point,” 50 Cent revealed during their conversation. “Because, musically we was in the boom-bap phase. We was in that hard-hitting intensity, the energy on the records, and it’s the slowest song on Get Rich or Die Tryin’. And it’s now the tempo that the artists are rapping to. So the fast tempo, hard-hitting beats, that was that era, that time period. And the whole album had it.

“If you had asked me to make a wish in 2003, I would’ve just wished that my music was a hit,” 50 Cent continued to Judd, going into his career as a whole. “I didn’t see 20 years ahead in music like that. I’m just that at the moment for it to work. And then what’s cr*zy is most artists, they think they’re ready before they are.

“Most good artists, they’ve thought they were ready before they actually could at it,” he concluded. “But they’ve had that window of time to work that allowed them to actually become good enough. That’s why we have one-hit wonders in hip-hop culture. Because when that happens, they have that first hit and then it takes them out of the studio to go perform and to go meet all the distractions to come with being a successful artist. Then they land back in the studio without being trained to know how to create the next song. So they be stuck with that one hit.” For more news and the latest updates on 50 Cent, stay posted on HNHH.

Saucy Santana Roasts A Woman During Video Shoot: “She Ain’t Have No BBL”

Saucy Santana recently has been tangled up with social media critic DJ Akademiks. The rapper was fed up with him messing with his close friend, Yung Miami, one-half of the City Girls. DJ has been ruthless with his comments about the femcee’s career. It has mostly consisted of saying there are no results from her music, especially numbers-wise. Saucy stepped in and fired shot after shot toward DJ and a lot of people were siding with the rapper.

After the media pundit clowned Saucy’s diss track, he fired right back. A lot of fans were happy to see Saucy give it right back to the social media star. “This has to be the funniest beef in hip-hop history. Because he really got checked and humbled by Saucy 😂 DL boys down 500.” While he might have gained some followers after that, he might be losing some almost immediately.

In a recent video shoot, Saucy appears to be judging some random women’s appearances. One critique is starting to cause a stir on the internet, with him judging a lady harshly. He said, “She ain’t have no BBL, no mink lashes, no lace wig… she just said f*** it.” One of the biggest problems with social media today is the amount of people who are flaunting their body image heavily altered. These comments by Saucy have a lot of people going after him for essentially promoting fake body image compared to natural beauty. One goes, “See….this the problem now.” Another says, “3 BBLs and still being built like a hot air balloon is crazy. He got some nerve.”

What are your initial thoughts on Saucy Santana’s comments toward the woman in the video? Is this the main reason why people are struggling with self-confidence in today’s society? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. 50 Cent & Evanescence’s 2004 Grammys Spat Has Singer Amy Lee Sure Fif Still “Hates [Her] Guts”

As he moves towards his fifties, Curtis Jackson is likely reflecting on the growth in himself since first coming up in the industry. The early years of his career saw 50 Cent acting far more recklessly than he ever does now. For the most part, the Power producer keeps us laughing with his reaction posts on social media these days, but in the mid-2000s, he wasn’t afraid to storm award show stages long before Kanye West ever did.

If you tuned into the 2004 Grammys nearly two decades ago, you may recall the tension in the air when Fif lost the award for Best New Artist to Evanescence. In an interview with the Daily Beast, lead singer Amy Lee spoke about the moment when Jackson joined her and guitarist Ben Moody on stage as she gave her acceptance speech. “50 Cent hates my guts,” she told the outlet, adding herself to the “I Get Money” hitmaker’s long list of enemies.

50 Cent Wasn’t Happy About Losing Artist of the Year

Despite how awkward it all looked on TV at the time, Lee insists the moment “wasn’t that bad” in real life. “He just sort of like, made an appearance. It was like Zoolander when he thought he won,” she joked. While his disdain is obvious, the “Bring Me To Life” singer says she’s never had a chance to discuss Fif being snubbed with him. However, he publicly discussed the moment as recently as 2020, while accepting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “You got the largest debut hip hop album [but] you don’t got no Best New Artist trophy,” the lyricist ranted during his ceremony.

“The Best New Artist, they gave that shit to Evanescence… Can you find fucking Evanescence? I ain’t seen Evanescence since that night. Since that night they gave them the trophy,” he added. Even with the hate, the band has no intentions of getting into a Twitter war with Jackson anytime soon. Amy Lee isn’t the only one who’s still feeling the sting of 50 Cent’s wrath. The New Yorker’s followers will know that he’s had his foot heavily on Sean Combs’ neck following harrowing allegations from Cassie and others in the industry, and he’s not showing signs of letting up anytime soon. Read some of his most recent comments at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Timbaland’s 7 Best Pop Collaborations

The 2000s marked a truly experimental moment for pop music. As such, the innovative efforts of Timbaland made for some brilliant musical collaborations. One of the most important producers in music history, his work has enjoyed substantial acclaim for his futuristic sounds and exploratory beats. Furthermore, by enlisting some of the finest pop artists in his work, Timbaland created some truly timeless collabs.

Notably, his works with frequent collaborators Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado took center stage. However, in the pop scene, Timbaland has worked with many lauded artists, including Keri Hilson, Katy Perry, and even the Queen of Pop, Madonna. Overall, his music has remained timeless, and when it comes to some of the best producer-artist collabs, Timbaland undoubtedly reigns supreme. Here are seven of his best pop alliances that dominated the 2000s.

7. “If We Ever Meet Again” – Timbaland Ft. Katy Perry (2009)

“If We Ever Meet Again” is one of the standout tracks from Timbaland’s third album, Shock Value II. It features additional vocals from Katy Perry. The song was a moderate success but is one of the producer’s most recognizable collaborative efforts. Lyrically, the single follows both artists longing for another chance to see each other again after an initial encounter. Commercially, the song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also enjoyed the most success in the UK, achieving a platinum certification for over 600,000 sales.

6. “4 Minutes” – Madonna Ft. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland (2008)

By 2008, Madonna had already made a full comeback. However, she took things up a notch with the single, “4 Minutes.” One of Madonna’s biggest collabs, the dance-pop track featured Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, who both co-produced the track alongside Danja. Overall, “4 Minutes” is a boisterous number, backed by a sleek and heavy bass beat. Furthermore, Timbaland employed Bhangra beats, as well as brass instruments to give the track an extra kick. Madonna and Timberlake also shared amazing synergy on the track, effortlessly trading lines with one another.

5. “Give It To Me” – Timbaland Ft. Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake (2007)

The snappy, sexy, club staple, “Give It To Me,” wasted no time in taking over the radio. Timbaland enlisted his frequent partners, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake for one of his hottest collabs of all time. “Give It To Me” peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Timbaland’s first and only chart-topper as a lead artist. The single was released as the first single from his sophomore album, Shock Value. Moreover, it became one of the most-played songs of 2007. Overall, “Give It To Me” has been certified 3x Platinum in the US, with over three million copies sold.

4. “Apologize” – Timbaland & OneRepublic (2007)

Timbaland has a number of successful collaborations, but “Apologize” quickly became a worldwide smash hit. The slow-burning pop and R&B hybrid has been certified 5x Platinum in the US, with sales of over five million copies. While the song failed to top the Billboard Hot 100, it settled for the penultimate position. Moreover, it spent a whopping 25 weeks in the top 10. Around the world, “Apologize” dominated heavily as well. In Australia, for example, the song achieved a gargantuan 11x Platinum certification by the ARIA for selling over 770,000 copies. In the UK, it achieved a 2x Platinum, selling over 1.2 million copies. Furthermore, it achieved sales of over 400,000 in Canada, achieving a 5x Platinum.

3. “The Way I Are” – Timbaland Ft. Keri Hilson (2007)

Timbaland was known to keep his musical partners close. Besides Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, and Missy Elliott, Timbaland also enjoyed some delicious collabs with Keri Hilson. Her sultry vocals paired brilliantly with his dark, sexy production style, and together, they made magic. “The Way I Are” is a testament to their harmonious musical relationship. The pop and electro-hop single became an instant success, peaking atop the UK Singles chart. On the Hot 100, the song reached the third spot. Furthermore, in the US, “The Way I Are” has been awarded a 3x Platinum certification by the RIAA, for sales of over three million. It remains one of both artists’ most successful tracks.

2. “SexyBack” – Justin Timberlake Ft. Timbaland (2006)

The collaborative effort of Timbaland and Justin Timberlake made for some of the best music in both their discographies. However, the magic of “SexyBack” absolutely dominated the radio around the world. In a twist from his crooning style, Timberlake opted for a more stylish, rock vibe, boosting the song’s incredible sex appeal. “SexyBack” peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100, the UK Singles Chart, and many more charts around the globe. Although Timbaland reigned supreme in the 2000s, 2006 and 2007 were undeniably his best years, especially in terms of chart-topping collabs.

1. “Promiscuous” – Nelly Furtado Ft. Timbaland (2006)

Timbaland was the main producer on Nelly Furtado’s third album Loose, which was responsible for one the biggest collabs of his career. “Promiscuous” was the second single off the album, and peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100 in no time. Lyrically, both Furtado and Timbaland trade lines, engaging in heavy flirtatious banter, and tagging each other “promiscuous.” Beyond the song’s success on the charts, “Promiscuous” went on to sell over seven million copies, earning a 7x Platinum certification by the RIAA. It also enjoyed much success in Europe, particularly in the UK, where it earned a 2x Platinum certification for sales of over 1.2 million.

What Is Miley Cyrus’ Best-Selling Album?

Oftentimes, when artists reinvent themselves, there’s a slow buildup. Miley Cyrus followed a similar route but, in a shocking turn of events, became a fully-fledged controversy stirrer in 2013. After adopting a more mature image by her third album, Can’t Be Tamed, it was her fourth album, Bangerz, that shattered any ties to her teen-pop roots. With multiple albums under her belt, Miley Cyrus is one of the most recognizable musicians of her generation, but none of her projects have matched the commercial success of Bangerz

The lead-up to Cyrus’ fourth album was a defining moment in pop culture. After some time off to focus on acting, she quickly returned to music and signed with RCA Records. While her previous albums were predominantly pop, Miley Cyrus began to lean into R&B territory. It was this genre merger that resulted in Bangerz. Following two polarizing music videos and a raunchy MTV Video Music Awards performance, interest in the album was at an all-time high. It’s no wonder why Bangerz is the best-selling album in her repertoire.

Bangerz: A Miley Cyrus Event

Miley Cyrus was no stranger to releasing successful albums by the time Bangerz was released. Whether through her teen pop persona, Hannah Montana, or as herself, she was already a commercial titan. However, Bangerz ushered in an even greater success for her. The album achieved first-week sales of 270,000 copies, which was an impressive feat.

Since then, the album has sold over three million units in the U.S. This has led to a 3x Platinum certification by the RIAA. However, it’s important to note that this certification happened as far back as June 2018. Furthermore, the album was a moderate success in the U.K., where it’s been certified Gold for unit sales of over 100,000. Likewise, it’s most likely that the album has achieved higher sales, as its last certification date was in December 2013. This means that, in just two and a half months of its release in the UK, Bangerz sold over 100,000 copies.

Bangerz also performed very well in Norway, selling 80,000 copies and achieving a 4x Platinum. It has earned 2x and 3x Platinum certifications in Canada and Brazil, for sales of over 160,000 and 120,000 units, respectively. Moreover, in Australia, Denmark, Poland, and Sweden, Bangerz accumulated Platinum certifications. The respective units sold in these countries are: 70,000, 20,000, 20,000, and 40,000. In summary, of all her albums, this one awarded Miley Cyrus the most certifications around the globe.

A Controversial Pivot

While Miley Cyrus had already begun to adopt a sexier, more mature image, Bangerz took things even further, becoming one of the most discussed albums of 2013. With the release of the LP’s lead single, “We Can’t Stop,” the former teen idol effectively shed her former skin. Particularly, the track’s music video depicted a highly provocative side to Cyrus. The video took place at a house party, where Cyrus twerked with friends and behaved rather suggestively. Unsurprisingly, the polarizing video has almost raked up a billion views on YouTube.

At the 2013 VMAs, Miley Cyrus became one of the most searched names on Google. Her raunchy and suggestive dancing and behavior, which included twerking on Robin Thicke, became media gold. Furthermore, following the release of the music video for “Wrecking Ball,” which depicted a naked Miley Cyrus, her good-girl image was completely gone. In essence, a newer, more adult pop star had replaced the former teen sensation.

Overall, Bangerz was a pop-R&B hybrid that successfully reinvented Cyrus’ artistry. The album was primarily produced by Mike Will Made It and debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart. The music was also met with positive reviews, who praised the singer’s more evolved sound. However, the controversies around Bangerz made it one of the most memorable albums of the 2010s and the best-selling album in Miley Cyrus’s career.

The Best Live Music Performances On TV From The Past Week

The best musical performances from the past week of late-night TV include sets from Offset, Davido, The National, and more. Uproxx has the rundown below so you can catch up or relive your favorites. Here are the best live music performances on TV from the past week.

Offset & Don Toliver:

Fresh from the release of his second solo album, Set It Off, Offset stopped by 30 Rock to deliver a grooving performance of his song “Worth It” alongside Don Toliver on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. With the stage reflecting a summery beach setting in contrast to the actual weather outside, the set was much more appropriate for the upbeat single, which samples Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.”

Davido:

Speaking of summery songs, there is perhaps no genre as full of them as Afrobeats. One of that genre’s biggest stars, Davido, also hit the Tonight Show stage for an exuberant performance, playing a medley of his songs “Feel” and “Unavailable,” flanked by a pair of joyous dancers and backed by a lustrous, brassy band.

The National:

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is known for bringing in not just high-profile talent, but also some of the headiest. The National offered a prime example of this tendency with a moody performance of their song “Space Invader” from Laugh Track.

Alec Benjamin:

Rising star Alec Benjamin dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a soulful performance of “Different Kind Of Beautiful.” The introspective track was complemented by setting the stage as a cozy bedroom, complete with a record player, reading lamp, and even a laptop open to Pro Tools.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Destiny’s Child Reunites At Beyonce’s “RENAISSANCE” Film’s World Premiere

Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE film just had its world premiere in Hollywood over the weekend, and a lot of celebrities showed out in their best for the occasion. Most notably, though, this event also brought about another Destiny’s Child reunion, which is always amazing to see. Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland looked stunning, whereas OG members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett also came dressed to impress. The only other name missing- aside Queen Bey herself, who didn’t appear on the “chrome” carpet for the premiere- was Farrah Franklin, and the reason for her absence is publicly unknown.

Regardless, it’s still great to see the R&B icons have a ball together again, and come together for a monumental occasion. In fact, the RENAISSANCE film features some moments dedicated to capturing Destiny’s Child’s reunion at the Houston Homecoming show for the tour. “It was like a new birth for us, and a lot of healing,” Beyonce said in a narration over the footage. Maybe this won’t be the last we’ll hear from these female singers, as 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the group’s debut album.

Nate Dogg’s 7 Best Collabs

Nate Dogg’s impact on hip-hop is undeniable. Known for his infectious melodies and his deep, velvety voice, the West Coast legend left his mark on the game before his untimely passing in 2011. Nate Dogg was notorious for his abilities as a collaborator, lending catchy R&B hooks to some of hip hop’s most iconic tracks. No matter who he collaborated with, he always stole the show. Throughout his career, he worked with some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B from the West Coast and beyond. Today, we will be ranking Nate Dogg’s 7 best collaborations from least to greatest. Take a look at the list below.

7. 2Pac – “All About U” (1996)

“All About U” is a standout track from 2Pac’s iconic double-disc album, All Eyez On Me. Over a relaxed G-Funk groove, Pac, Hussein Fatal, and Yaki Kadafi spit explicit verses about groupies. Snoop Dogg contributes a spoken outro on the album version and a verse on the Greatest Hits edition. A West Coast affair, one of the most memorable parts of “All About U” is Nate Dogg’s chorus. He keeps things light-hearted as he sings, “Every other city we go, every other video / No matter where I go, I see the same h*es.” He matches the breezy instrumental and the playful nature of the verses.

6. Snoop Dogg – “Lay Low” (2000)

Snoop Dogg was one of Nate Dogg’s closest collaborators. They first teamed up on “Ain’t No Fun (If The Homies Can’t Have None)” from Snoop’s 1993 debut, Doggystyle. The two eventually linked with Warren G as 213 for 2004’s The Hard Way. Nate and Snoop Dogg created many iconic tracks together, many of which are on this list. One of their strongest tracks is “Lay Low” from 2000’s Tha Last Meal. A tough California banger produced by Dr. Dre, Snoop, The Eastsidaz, and Master P spits tough verses while Nate Dogg delivered a soulful yet vulgar hook. His appearance made the minimal beat and the gangsta rap verses even more forceful.

5. Eminem – “‘Till I Collapse” (2002)

Eminem first featured Nate Dogg on “Bitch Please II,” a stellar posse cut from The Marshall Mathers LP also including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Xzibit. The two then teamed up for “‘Till I Collapse,” a standout track from The Eminem Show. The song intensely builds into a motivational track where Eminem declares his devotion to hip-hop. His choppy and commanding flow in his verses is complimented by a Nate Dogg chorus. Nate’s deeply sung hook adds to the content of Em’s verses as he sings, “I’ma rip this shit ‘till my bones collapse.” While it is not as vocally dynamic as his other collaborations, Nate’s hook is perfect for the song.

4. 50 Cent – “21 Questions” (2003)

Perhaps Nate Dogg’s most famous chorus is on one of hip hop’s most classic love songs. “21 Questions” stands out as the gentle moment on 50 Cent’s iron-clad debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Both 50 Cent and Nate Dogg spend the song questioning the extent of their girlfriends’ love and loyalty for them. Between 50’s relaxed verses and the luxurious instrumental, Nate Dogg’s smooth baritone chorus brings these elements together to create one of the best blends of hip hop and R&B.

3. Dr. Dre – “The Next Episode” (1999)

“The Next Episode” is one of the most iconic hip-hop songs of all time. From the instrumental and the chorus to the verses and ad-libs, the song is filled with classic moments. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s lyrics paint a distinct portrait of California culture, but the song’s final 30 seconds undoubtedly contribute to its legacy. Nate Dogg ends the song with his very own moment. He steals the show with a short and sweet outro, finishing “The Next Episode” by exclaiming the now classic phrase, “Smoke weed every day.” While his portion is quite short, it remains one of Nate Dogg’s best collaborations.

2. Dr. Dre – “Xxplosive” (1999)

Another Dr. Dre classic, “Xxplosive’s” legendary status can be attributed not only to its pleasant instrumentation but to Nate Dogg’s show-stopping verse. Dr. Dre does not rap on the song, but Kurupt and Six-Two spit crude verses, matching the other songs on 2001. The bars certainly fit the instrumental, but Nate Dogg takes “Xxplosive” to the next level. His low vocal register amplifies the beat’s lead melody and bassline, embodying the suave persona portrayed in his lyrics. He also showcases his range with his various runs, with the instrumental building on top of his vocals. The Dr. Dre-led song is one of Nate Dogg’s brightest moments and best collaborations, working in tandem with the other rappers and the beat.

1. Warren G – “Regulate” (1994)

“Regulate” was the first single for both Warren G and Nate Dogg. To this day, it still cannot be topped as their best collaboration. One of hip hop’s greatest storytelling tracks, the song follows Warren G as he gets into an altercation before Nate Dogg comes to his rescue. Over a classic G-Funk instrumental, the two share their story from their own perspectives as they trade verses. Warren G nonchalantly spits his rap verses as he raps about getting jumped by a group of guys and Nate Dogg delicately sings about violently defending him. It is the perfect blend of rapping and singing as their exchange of verses tells a full narrative. Ultimately, “Nate Dogg and Warren G had to regulate,” resulting in Nate’s best collaboration. His first-ever single has stood the test of time as an all-time classic moment in hip hop.
