Cardi B Joins Kay Flock on New Single ‘Shake It’

Cardi B takes it back to the Bronx.

After collaborating with Summer Walker, the Grammy-winning rapper links with Kay Flock on the drill star’s new single “Shake It” featuring Dougie B and Bory300. Cardi reps the Boogie Down Bronx on the drill anthem, which samples Akon’s 2005 hit “Bananza (Belly Dancer),”

“I’m not a step up, bitch, I’m a stomper / All of my opps get mixed with the grabba / Broke bitch said she was gon’ touch me / She lyin’, hakuna matata,” Bardi raps over the Elias Beats-produced beat.

Cardi also appears in the video, which was filmed in the City Island neighborhood and includes a cameo from drill rapper B-Lovee. She rocks red paisley hair while mobbing with the Bronx crew during their celebratory night out.

This is the latest collaboration for Cardi, who most recently appeared on Summer Walker’s “No Love (Extended Version).” She continues to ready her sophomore album, due later this year.

Earlier today, she finally revealed the name of her and Offset’s son, Wave Set Cephus, and shared the first photos of the 7-month-old.

Last year, Kay Flock released his debut project The D.O.A. Tape, which spawned the G Herbo-assisted “Being Honest (Remix)” and “Is Ya Ready.”

Lizzo Drops New Single ‘About Damn Time’

Turn up the music, turn down the lights.

Ahead of hosting “SNL” this weekend, Lizzo returns with her new single “About Damn Time.” The disco-infused bop, which Lizzo has declared the “song of the summer,” is an empowering anthem guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

“I’ve been so down and under pressure / I’m way too fine to be this stressed, yeah / I’m not the girl I was or used to be / Bitch, I might be better,” she sings before declaring, “I’m coming out tonight!”

In the magical video, Lizzo attends the Stressed and Sexy Support Group. When she’s asked to recite a poem, she imagines herself moonwalking in a sparkly catsuit through the halls and playing the flute in a pool while surrounded by synchronized swimmers.

“About Damn Time” follows the Cardi B-assisted “Rumors” off Lizzo’s upcoming album Special, which drops July 15.

“I think that the music really is going to speak for itself,” she said of the follow-up to 2019’s Cuz I Love You. “I’m writing songs about love from every direction, and I hope that I can turn a little bit of the fear that’s been running rampant in this world, energetically into love. That’s the point.”

Lizzo, who recently launched her YITTY shapewear brand, will perform her new single on “SNL” this weekend. She will also serve as host, becoming the third Black female to pull double duty in the show’s history.
