Mo’Nique’s Sister Says That She’s “Displacing” Anger On The Wrong People

Mo'Nique Doubles Down on Remarks About Bonnets Following Backlash

The beef between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique might have hit a stalemate. Neither side has addressed the other in a few days. However, lately, more family has been getting involved in the beef, with Hughley’s daughter Ryan publicly addressing Mo’Nique, and now the Academy Award-winning actress’ sister voicing her thoughts on the matter as well.

Mo’Nique’s sister, Millicent Imes, took to Facebook to share in a lengthy post her thoughts on the situation with D.L. Hughley. She shared that it was “maddening” to see her sister “embarrass” herself. and that how Mo’Nique is handling the situation is “not a good look.”

“Enough is Enough!! My Sister!! Stop the Madness!!! It’s not a good look,” she wrote. “God has Shut you down before, and believe me he will do it again!!! Let’s start by staying on topic. YOU are and have been displacing your anger on the wrong people.”

Imes’ message to her sister comes just days after Hughley called her a “monster” for weaponizing his daughter’s sexual trauma in trying to insult him.

“I know I said that I had done all I could here about this whole Mo’Nique situation but over the weekend her and her husband released a video where I was doing an interview and I detailed my daughter’s sexual trauma. Mo’Nique has taken that video and perverted it for her own uses. She decided to add her own narrative,” Hughley said.

Since her sister’s post, Mo’Nique has not yet responded.

D.L. Hughley Calls Mo’Nique a “Monster” For “Weaponizing” His Daughter’s Sexual Trauma

D.L. Hughley Believes Kanye West is 'Conveniently' Mentally Ill

After over a week of going back and forth after a simple contract dispute, D.L. Hughley hopes to have put an end to his battle with Mo’Nique. On Monday, Hughley addressed Mo’Nique in a lengthy video posted to his Instagram.

In the caption, he said that this was the “final straw” and the “last breathe” that he’ll waste on speaking about Mo’Nique.

“The final straw and the last breath I’ll waste on a monster so HEINOUS, they would try to open a wound and weaponize a young woman’s past personal trauma. That young woman happens to be my daughter and it ends today. – Darryl Lynn Hughley,” he wrote.

In the video, Hughley addresses the clip where he told Sway during an interview how he did not initially believe his daughter when she told him that his friend had sexually assaulted her. Hughley says that Mo’Nique “perverted” the story and added her own narrative.

“I know I said that I had done all I could here about this whole Mo’Nique situation but over the weekend her and her husband released a video where I was doing an interview and I detailed my daughter’s sexual trauma. Mo’Nique has taken that video and perverted it for her own uses. She decided to add her own narrative.”

Hughley called Mo’Nique’s remarks “unconscionable” and doubled down on his belief that Mo’Nique did not “play” Precious mother in the critically acclaimed movie for which she won an Oscar, but she “let her out.”

“You and your husband putting a man in my daughter’s room when that is not what I said and weaponizing it and using it in a trite argument shows exactly how low you are,” Hughley, who said he was speaking out at the request of his daughter, said. “You are a monster. You literally are. You didn’t play Precious’ mother. You let her out. You stopped pretending to be human and you won…an Oscar for being exactly who you are. Who says they love women and are there for women…and would trod out someone’s sexual trauma just to use in an argument?”

Hughley went on to tell Mo’Nique that she will not be invited to his show despite accepting his daughter Ryan’s invitation to talk. He told Mo’Nique to leave his children out of their beef, and concluded by saying “one day I hope that you’re happy and you can stop being such a miserable, low human being.”

You can watch Hughley’s full response here.

Mo’Nique has not yet responded to D.L. even though it is probably only a matter of time. Before he posted his response to her, she took to Instagram again where she questioned D.L. Hughley’s love for Black women due to jokes he made surrounding the 2007 Don Imus controversy where he called Black female basketball players “nappy headed hoes.”

“Tell me what part of what he said was funny? This is classic DL Hughley, cruel for no reason. The only thing that I ask some black women is how do you protect a black man who not only won’t protect you, but he’ll recklessly attack you too! @realdlhughley,” she captioned the post.

D.L. Hughley’s Daughter Fires Back at Mo’Nique: “You’re Clearly Two Crayons Short Of The Whole Box”

monique

You probably would have thought that the beef between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique would have been over by now, but every other day someone else is responding to Mo’Nique. Now, D.L. Hughley’s daughter Ryan Nicole Shepard has entered the conversation after Mo’Nique got personal in her attack of D.L.

Mo’Nique had posted a clip of an interview between D.L. Hughley and Sway Colloway where Hughley talked about how he dismissed a claim from one of his daughters when she told him she was sexually assaulted because he knew the character of the person who allegedly did it. In her caption, she wrote “When I said ‘how can DL’s wife suck the d**k of a coward’, this is what I meant.”

Ryan then took to the comments section where she wrote a lengthy response to Mo’Nique, telling the comedian that she has disrespected her mother and little sister to get back at her father and is only aiding in the “systematic and traumatic disrespect of other Black women.”

“Hi @therealmoworldwide I’m Ryan Nicole Shepard (D.L. Hughley and LaDonna Hughley’s eldest daughter). You’ve now publicly disrespected my mother—who I love and care for very much—and my baby sister—who I love and care for very much to get back at my father—who I love, respect and care for very much,” Ryan commented.

She continued, saying that her handling of the situation only proves how mentally unstable she is and how she has no respect for Black women. “Using my mama and my sister to show people my father’s character only shows how little mental stability, dignity, morality and respect you have not only for yourself but other black women. You’re clearly two crayons short of the full box sis. You’re disgusting and you absolutely need to keep every single member of MY family’s name out of your poisonous mouth.”

Ryan ended her response, telling Mo’Nique that if she would like to continue to have their conversation in private that she will “happily” give Mo’Nique the address to her home.

Mo’Nique then went on to post Ryan’s response and accepted her invitation to talk. “THANK YOU FOR THE INVITATION FOR A DISCUSSION. WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE YOU UP ON IT. BECAUSE IT COULD BE VERY HEALING FOR OUR COMMUNITY. HAVE @realdlhughley SET UP A TIME FOR YOU, & YOUR FAMILY & MY HUSBAND & I TO COME ON HIS SHOW & WE WILL GO FROM THERE. I LOVE US 4REAL,” Mo’Nique wrote.

[WATCH] Mo’Nique Accuses DL Hughley Of Neglecting His Daughter

Last week comedian Mo’Nique went live on Instagram to explain why she lashed out at fellow comedian DL Hughley while onstage.  After her show in Detroit went she blamed the outburst on a decades old beef.

Yesterday, Mo’Nique shared a clip of Hughley admitting he did not believe his own daughter when she told him she was molested. She went live again to address the backlash, insisting it’s a comedians job to leave it all on the stage.

(This is based upon DL’s own words that you just heard.) @realdlhughley When I said “how can DL’s wife suck the d**k of a coward”, this is what I meant. When my husband & I say we have to fight for the little girls coming up behind us & u see DL didn’t believe his own daughter over a friend, because he seemingly likes his friend more than he LOVED HIS OWN DAUGHTER & didn’t want to be bothered by the inconvenient truth. This highlights why the BLACK WOMEN isn’t believed when she publicly speaks about her trauma. What does the BLACK WOMEN & his (DL’s ) BLACK WIFE have coming. Watch who stands with this man & your looking at the same ones who will sit down, when you our sisters are being attacked. I find it funny that DL will call out
ICE CUBE, KANYE, RIZZA ISLAM, ANGELA STANTON, MYSELF ETC., but he won’t call out the name of the person that violated his daughter.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO SAID I JUST NEED TO LET THINGS GO!

Steve Harvey Responds Mo’Nique Calling Him A “Coon” During Comedy Show: “I’m Not Your Problem”

Steve Harvey

During her set at a comedy show in Detroit last week, Mo’Nique dragged D.L. Hughley over a dispute between who was set to headline the event. She called Hughley and Steve Harvey “coons” despite Steve not having anything to do with the situation.

During the Wednesday, June 1st episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Steve was asked by his co-host Shirley Strawberry about the situation. Steve replied saying that he could care less what she has to say.

“Let me just open by saying I could care less than a…about what you think about me because clearly—clearly—I’m not your problem. And you know what? Anyone who knows me, who really knows me, can’t even make that statement,” Steve said.

He went on to say how the “mission” of comedy shows is to entertain people, and that she was given incorrect information about headlining the show. He believes that Mo’Niques manager lied to her and told her that she was co-headlining with Hughley.

“Her management, whoever he is, simply stated ‘I got this gig, you co-headline.’ I promise you that’s what was told. … And that was incorrect information because D.L. put that contract online,” Harvey said. “He was 100 percent headlining. Co-headlining affects the money. If you’re co-headlining, you’re gonna get the same cash.”

You can check out Steve’s response below. It starts around the 30-minute mark.

Mo’Nique Responds to D.L. Hughley and Drags Steve Harvey Into the Feud

Mo'nique's Lawsuit Against Netflix is Moving Forward

It is unclear when the feud between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique will end. Over the weekend, the two took to social media to show their contracts to prove who was supposed to be the headliner at the comedy show in Detroit. On Tuesday, D.L. took to his radio show to clear the air, calling Mo’Nique an “occupational hazard” and saying that he was warned about Mo’Nique but decided to give her a chance to grace the stage.

Mo’Nique has since responded in an Instagram video where she takes more shots at D.L. and explains why she brought Steve Harvey into their feud.

“There was nothing that was said about your wife, your family. It was directed specifically to you,” Mo’Nique. She added: “Saturday night, D.L. Hughley was going to get his ass handed to him because, through the years, I’ve heard this man have a lot to say about me.”

Mo’Nique added that she wanted D.L. to be there while she continuously threw him under the bus. She brought Steve Harvey into the mix because he and D.L. Hughley lied about her during a radio interview.

She also disputed claims that audience members were frustrated with her spending her set talking and Hughley and the contract dispute.

The Beef Continues Between D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique, King Of Comedy Says “Now I Know What Tyler Perry Knows”

D.L. Hughley Believes Kanye West is 'Conveniently' Mentally Ill

The comedy world has been going through it these last few months. Between Chris Rock being slapped at the Academy Awards and Dave Chappelle getting tackled in the middle of a concert, the comedy world’s last thing is two of its legends beefing.

Welp, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Over the last few days, D.L. Hughley and Mo’Nique have been embroiled in a beef that started over a debate about which one of the comedians was headlining a show in Detroit. Mo’Nique talked about her spat with D.L. while on stage, and D.L. responded by asking Mo’Nique if she was still mad about the deal she got from Netflix a few years ago.

D.L. and Mo’Nique posted their contracts on Instagram with conflicting details. D.L. posted his deal memo, which had him as the headliner, while Mo’Nique posted the contract she sent the promoter. The two’s show schedules also were different, with Mo’Niques saying she was the headliner and D.L.’s schedule saying he was headlining.

On his morning show on Tuesday morning, D.L. took the time to clear the air about his beef with Mo’Nique. calling the legendary comedian an “occupational hazard.”

“Now I know what Tyler Perry knows, I know what Lee Daniels knows, I know what Oprah knows, I know what Steve Harvey knows, I know what Charlamagne Tha God knows, I know what Netflix knows. Saying yes to Mo’Nique is an occupational hazard.”

Hughley continued to share his side of the story, blaming himself for taking a chance with Mo’Nique and asking why instead of handling her contract dispute with the promoters, she decided to rant about it on stage during her set.

You can watch D.L.’s remarks below.
