[WATCH] Lil Durk Says He’s ‘Bigger Than Drake’ In The Trenches

Lil Durk drake trenches

Lil’ Durk is saying he is bigger than Drake in the trenches. In a recent appearance on Wallo and Gillie Da Kid’s “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Durk re-visited a previous statement he made where he said he wanted to be “bigger than Drake.”

When Wallo, the show co-host asked Durkio how far he’s come since he made that statement, the Chicago rapper replied that to those with him and in his group, “we bigger than him, you know what I’m sayin’.”

There is no beef between the two artist, as Drake recently posted an Instagram story listening to Durk’s new music. The Voice creator is currently preparing for the release of his 7220 album.

Kodak Black Names Beyoncé as Dream Collaboration

How would a Kodak Black and Beyoncé song sound? The “Super Gremlin” can quickly tell you.

Kodak Black was not shy about naming the most coveted future collaborator. What would have been a surprise to many may not be a surprise. Kodak Black is fresh off of his 4th studio album, Back For Everything. The “Zeze” rapper currently holds the 5th spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts with “Super Gremlin.” The track debuted in the top 10 upon its release.

The Florida native recently appeared on Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast with Gille and Walo.

During the interview, Gillie asked Kodak, “which artist he would want to work with whom he hasn’t worked with already?”

With no hesitation, Kodak says Beyoncé. Then he proceeds to sing the line he has already written for her.

“Here’s some pictures of your family and our children, baby boy you’re the only one I’m missing,” Yak sings as he replicates Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable” melody.

Then he says he has the rest of the song already written. Based on Kodak’s musical ability to write melodies and hooks, the Queen Bey feature is only a matter of time.

Snoop Dogg Wants Ownership Of Death Row Records — And Hints That He Could Get It

Appearing on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, OG West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg had plenty to say with regard to the state of the region’s hip-hop scene — and the place within that scene for the pioneering label that originally helped open the door for LA’s dominance in the wider rap culture.

Addressing the diminished importance of Death Row Records in recent years, Snoop was adamant that he could not only bring it back but also make it the hub for the biggest artists in West Coast hip-hop again. “I think all of Death Row should be in my hands,” he asserted. “I should be running that sh*t. Just like I’m [in] a position at Def Jam, Death Row means more to me because I helped create that. I think they should give me that and let me run that shit with the merchandise out, with the music all over the world. [Add] some new West Coast acts.”

He even posited that were he in this position previously, he’d have been able to sign many of LA’s premiere acts, including Roddy Ricch, Ty Dolla Sign, and YG.

But the real kicker is that he believes he could secure ownership of the label soon. “A little birdie told me it may fly my way and if it do, you’ll get everything that I told you,” he said. “If I can get Def Jam poppin’, what could I do with Death Row? Just imagine that.”

21 Savage Said Owning His Masters Helps Him Make More Off Album Sales Than Shows

Gillie Da King and Wallo might have a Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, but 21 Savage has them beat. Stopping by the Barstool duo’s podcast to talk everything from Clubhouse beef and the passing of his brother to participating in Amber Rose’s Slutwalk, to the subject of owning his own masters. Though he’s been more focused of late on charity events like his annual Issa Back 2 School Drive, but he took the time to talk industry knowledge for the show.

“I had a platinum album before I signed my [first] deal,” 21 explained to the show’s hosts. “I own my masters right now. Every song you’ve ever I heard, I own it. I got a 70/30 split with my label. I make more money off my album sales than I do off touring. For a lot of rappers, most of their money comes from touring.” For those who aren’t as familiar with the standard record label agreement, this arrangement is incredibly rare. It’s also a big deal for artists, on an emotional level — check Taylor Swift’s re-recording campaign after she was refused the right to buy her own masters for proof.

Sitting with fellow Atlanta rapper Young Nudy for the entirety of the show, 21 holds his own for almost 90 minutes… to the point that some fans have to be wondering if he’ll start a new hustle hosting a hip-hop show. His penchant for lengthy, interesting interviews is setting a new industry standard. Check out the full show above.

Young Thug Says He Won $5,000 From Another Rapper Betting That Tekashi 69 Would Snitch

During Young Thug’s recent second appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast, the Atlanta trap mad scientist covered a lot of topics, from clearing the air regarding his Jay-Z Verzuz comments to recalling a bet he made with a peer over whether the notorious Tekashi 69 would testify against his former comrades in the Nine Trey Bloods set.

It turns out, it was a pretty safe, “friendly” bet (in Young Thug’s words), as Tekashi did eventually end up testifying for a reduced sentence — a move that benefitted him personally, but left him essentially persona non grata among rap peers who believe he violated street code. Although Thug himself doesn’t subscribe to this belief, he said he simply believes in loyalty and was brought up not to spill his friends’ secrets.

Detailing the bet itself, Thug refused to share who it was with (see above), but still shared enough to back up the story. “I can’t say his name, but I bet another rapper,” he recalled. “I don’t know where he from. I think the West Coast…. bet another rapper that 6ix9ine [would] tell before he told. I’m like, ‘He gon’ tell.’ Me and him bet a friendly $5,000…. I bet $5,000 that he’d tell and he bet $5,000 that nothing is gonna happen to him. I bet $5,000 that something was gonna happen to him, too. I don’t know why I had that belief. I really believed he gon’ think he gangsta, he gon’ try to step out, and somebody gon’ do somethin’. Even if it’s on some humble sh*t.”

Of course, to date, nothing serious has happened to Tekashi, although he’s kept up his trollish antics. Part of that may be due to the pandemic that shut down most public life over the past year and part of it may be due to the security guards he seemingly has around him at all times, but either way, it looks like Thug only gets to collect on half that bet for the time being. Considering he recently claimed to have lost nearly a million dollars in one night in Vegas, maybe he should consider leaving the gambling to the professionals.

Young Thug is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
