Taylor Swift Has The Most Album Of The Year Grammys In History With Her Win For ‘Midnights’

The 2024 Grammy Awards field for Album Of The Year included some stiff competition, even as the number of nominees in the “Big Four” General Field categories was reduced from ten to eight. From Jon Batiste to Taylor Swift to SZA, all of the albums could easily qualify for the award and put up a sturdy argument for winning it. But in the end, only one artist could walk away with the gold gramophone: Taylor Swift for her album Midnights.

During her speech, Swift gave praise to Lana Del Rey, who stood nearby, but downplayed the award, saying that she got the same feeling for every small achievement when it comes to songwriting and recording. With the award win, the Midnights singer became the most-awarded Album Of The Year winner with four wins. She has won for Fearless (at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards), 1989 (at the 58th Grammy Awards), Folklore (at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards), and now, Midnights. Ironically, earlier in the evening, Jay-Z read the Recording Academy the riot act while accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, criticizing the sheer number of snubs of his wife Beyoncé.

Jon Batiste Brought Some Magical Flair To A Cover Of Taylor Swift’s ‘Sweet Nothing’

Who would’ve guessed Jon Batiste was an undercover Swiftie? Today (August 16), during an appearance on Elvis Duran And The Morning Show, Batiste covered a Taylor Swift deep cut.

With nothing but a keyboard and some help from his backing band, the New Orleans artist delivered a cover of “Sweet Nothing” from Swift’s 10th studio album, Midnights. Of course, Batiste had to give it his signature touch. At the bridge of the song, he added some glistening piano harmonies, and delivered some jazzy croons to close out the song. At the conclusion of the performance, the show’s host is heard tearing up.

This isn’t the first time Batiste has shown love to Swift. In an interview with People back in June, Batiste expressed interest in collaborating with her.

“I just went to the Taylor Swift concert and it would be fun to do something with Taylor,” he said. “She was nice enough to invite us and give us tickets to one of her MetLife Stadium shows over Memorial Day weekend, and I’d love to work with any of the living legends, you know, any folks that I can learn something from — even if we don’t put it out.”

Batiste is currently gearing up to release his upcoming sixth studio album, World Music Radio.

World Music Radio is out 8/18 via Verve/Interscope. Find more information here.

Taylor Swift Taps Ice Spice For “Karma (Remix)”

Ice Spice has been on a winning streak for the past year. That streak continued this week as Taylor Swift announced their collaboration. The pop star took to social media to announce that Ice Spice would be hopping on the remix of Swift’s track “Karma” from 2022. The song is part of Swift’s latest album, Midnights, which she is currently on tour promoting. Both artists went online to share the exciting news. They revealed that the unexpected collab would be released today. In addition to the announcement, Swift uploaded some Interstellar-like cover art featuring Spice and Swift in space.

In the announcement post, Swift praised Ice Spice. She expressed her admiration for the rapper, even referring to herself as a “massive fan.” The pop singer also saw fit to dub Ice as “the one to watch.” Swift may not be part of the rap community, but that’s still very high praise from such a successful artist. The remix is part of Swift’s new deluxe album called Midnights (Til Dawn Edition). Ice Spice gratefully responded. She called Taylor Swift the sweetest person ever and expressed her love for the artist.

Ice Spice Must Have Great Karma

As soon as the clock struck midnight, the deluxe version of the aptly-named album hit streaming services. Of course, many jumped straight to the remix featuring Ice Spice. Given her meteoric rise recently, it’s so surprise that Taylor decided to feature her. In the song, Ice takes over the second verse, rapping about karma’s role in her life.

“Got you waving pretty white flags, fiending for that cash,” Ice Spice raps. “Thinking it’ll save ya, now you switching up your behavior.” As with Taylor’s lyrics, the Bronx rapper speaks about how she is friends with karma. The rapper lists all of the things that karma will do to you if you aren’t careful. What do you think of Ice Spice’s verse on Taylor’s song? Make sure to let us know in the comments below. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest Ice Spice news.

Quotable Lyrics:

It’s okay, baby, you ain’t gotta worry, karma never gets lazy
So, I keep my head up, my bread up, I won’t let up
Promise you that you never endeavor with nothin’ lesser
I be draggin’ that wagon, karma is a beauty
Winning that pageant

Ice Spice’s Good ‘Karma’ Landed Her A Feature On Taylor Swift’s New Remix That’s Dropping Soon

How can she lose if she’s already chose? Following the release of her “Princess Diana” remix with Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice seems to be collecting A-list collaborators like Infinity Stones. Her latest collab comes in the form of a remix to “Karma,” the latest single from Taylor Swift‘s 10th studio album, Midnights.

Swift herself took to social media today (May 24) to confirm the news. The “Karma” remix will arrive this Friday, along with a special edition of Midnights called Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition).

“I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch,” said Swift in her Instagram post’s caption. “So delighted to say that Karma Featuring the incredible @icespice will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as a part of the new Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album.”

Additionally, Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition) will feature a new version of “Snow On The Beach,” with more vocals from Lana Del Rey, as well as the song “Hits Different,” which was previously only available on the Target CD edition of Midnights.

Midnights (The Til Dawn Edition) is out 5/26 via Republic. Find more information here.

SZA Has Cleared Up Rumors Of Beef With Taylor Swift: ‘I Feel Silly That I Even Have To Say This’

SZA has dealt with a lot of haters after the release of her stunning new album SOS. “Sos is me singing about relationships from 6 years ago,” she clarified in one tweet after people criticized the content of her lyrics. “Ctrl was about relationships from high school n college. Reflection is a part of growth. Reflection is good.”

She’s taken to Twitter again to clear up something else — rumors of bad blood between her and Taylor Swift, who recently released her new album Midnights. “Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that,” she wrote. “I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing!Everyone’s jus tryna do their BEST as we all should . LOVE TO EVERYONE. Gn [white heart emoji].”

She also had to point out that her new record isn’t all sad songs; there are some uplifting tracks as well, and she didn’t want them to be dismissed or belittled. “Ignoring songs like ‘SOS,’ ‘PSA,’ ‘Conceited,’ ‘Low,’ ‘Forgiveless,’ ‘Seek N Destroy,’ ‘Notice Me,’ or ‘Ex Pack,’ to pretend I only make sad girl music is dumb,” she wrote, and then added in the replies, “Forgot ‘Good Days.’”
