SOURCE SPORTS: Former NBA Guard Raymond Felton Says Carmelo Anthony Was Greater Scorer Than LeBron, Durant and Jordan

carmelo anthony

Former NBA guard Raymond Felton, a long-time teammate of NBA future hall of famer Carmelo Anthony, claims Melo is the greatest scorer he’s ever seen and even better than the biggest names in the scoring GOAT conversation.

In a recent appearance on the Run Your Race podcast, Felton proclaimed Anthony was more of a pure scorer than his Airness himself, Michael Jordan, and King James, Kobe, or T-Mac Tracy McGrady, who’s often in the conversation.

“That dude, just the way he can score, how easy it is for him, I don’t know nobody who’s better, to be honest with you. I’m talking Tracy McGrady, I’m talking about MJ, I’m talking about Kobe, LeBron, all these guys. The way he used to score at every level, I don’t know nobody who’s better, for real,” Felton said.

“Post-up, got footwork, midrange is impeccable, shoot the three, athletic, can dunk on you, get to the basket, had handles like a point guard. I’m just saying – whatever you want, he can give to you,” Felton went on to say. “Whatever you want. ‘If you want just midrange all game, I got you. You want me to post you up? I got you. You want me to shoot the three? I got you.’”

Get this: When he was asked if Anthony could be compared to or even overtake Kevin “KD” Durant, Felton said Durant was no match for Melo’s game in the post.

Felton concluded with more on the topic … “I haven’t seen KD go off in the post like I’ve seen Melo go off in the post. Can KD score? For sure. Good gracious. That man can score easily. He scores easily for him to be 7-feet. They keep saying 6’11. That man ain’t 6’11. That man 7-feet, 7’1. That man [is] tall. But Melo, I’ve seen Melo score everywhere. I haven’t seen KD just get somebody in the post and I’m just gonna do you dirty, just post the whole game. I’ve seen Melo do that,”

I mean, he’s saying a lot, but how wrong is he? If at all. It’s sure a debate. Melo was one of the greatest scorers of all time, but better than KD, Kobe, MJ, and the reigning all-time scoring champion, LeBron James? Sheesh. That’s a tall order. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

DaBaby Tosses Jordans, Only Repping Deion Sanders Now

DaBaby made the switch from MJ to Prime Time in a recent video as he unboxed a complimentary pair of sneakers from Deion Sanders. “Hey OG – I appreciate ya always checking on me, chiming in [and] making sure my head in the right space. I’m rocking with Prime, n-gga. I f-ck with MJ but he ain’t ever sent me sh-t. Yo public service announcement. I rock with MJ. I f-ck with MJ but he ain’t never sent me sh-t and at the Hornets games when the players will come and I had my courtside seats, y’all ain’t never let me shoot the ball. So I’m f-cking with Prime. They let me throw the ball when I went out there to Colorado,” DaBaby said on Instagram.

DaBaby’s relationship with the Colorado head coach stems back to last season. It all began when DaBaby hit up Coach Prime while attending a Panthers’ game against the Saints with his kids. “PRIME WE NEED YOU IN CAROLINA AFTER YOU BRING THAT CHAMPIONSHIP TO COLORADO. Hit my line coach, let’s talk. @deionsanders.” Deion responded sometime later, inviting the rapper up to Boulder. “Lolololol. I’m good here. I need u here my brother. And bring the babies. Prime loves the kids.” The rapper then led the Buffaloes onto the field against USC.

DaBaby Reflects On 2021 Homophobia Controversy

Furthermore, some people noted that Sanders’ willingness to associate with DaBaby meant that the rapper was no longer “canceled” after his 2021 homophobia controversy. It’s an incident DaBaby himself spoke about last year. Appearing on The Shop Uninterrupted, DaBaby was asked if he would handle the controversy differently if he could. “Absolutely,” DaBaby began, “That’s what came out my own mouth and said as of late, not even as of late, I would maybe handled it the way he handled it. I apologized but I didn’t mean to apologize because I’m this type of person. I’m gonna fight to the tooth and nail, like if I, you know what I mean? My character and my intentions – that’s something I am never going to let you make me out, I’m not a bad person. I’m unfaltering on that.” While it is a sign of change in the rapper’s mentality since 2021, his comments on The Shop weren’t exactly a denouncement of his hateful comments in 2021.

Music professionals came out both in support of and opposition to DaBaby at the time of the controversy. While the likes of Boosie, T.I., and Nick Cannon defended the rapper, he was condemned by the likes of Dua Lipa, Demi Lovato, Elton John, QuestLove, and Madonna. DaBaby did eventually formally apologize on Instagram in early August, but fans noted that the apology was deleted less than a week later. Additionally, DaBaby was dropped from several festivals prior to his apology. The rapper has since said that the incident cost him somewhere in the region of $200 million.

Wack 100 Describes Michael Jordan Altercation

Wack 100 is someone who has been very forthcoming about some of the situations he has found himself in over the years. Overall, one such situation involves NBA legend Michael Jordan. Although Jordan typically keeps to himself, he has been known to be confrontational if he needs to be. However, it never gets to a point of no return. Instead, Jordan is somewhat of a diplomat who can ease tensions and neutralize a situation. It is a good quality to have, and Wack got to see it firsthand.

In the VladTV interview down below, Wack explained exactly what took place with Michael Jordan. Essentially, they were at the Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao fight which took place almost a decade ago. On his way out of the fight, Wack heard a whole bunch of commotion behind him. Overall, he was confused by it but eventually realized a big security guard was elbowing his way through people to escort someone out of the building. Subsequently, Wack stood up to the security guard and it led to a confrontation.

Wack 100 Explains The Situation

Eventually, Wack 100 realized who was being escorted out of the building. It was none other than Jordan, who immediately spoke to Wack. In the eyes of Wack, this was a huge moment for him as it taught him how to handle certain issues. Moreover, it made him feel “outclassed” by the NBA superstar. Needless to say, this was a huge moment in Wack’s life, even if he didn’t know it at the time.

Marcus Jordan & Larsa Pippen Already Planning Wedding, Marcus Wants Father MJ To Be His Best Man

Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen are a couple that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Overall, we say this due to the fact that there is a large age gap here. Furthermore, Larsa used to be married to Scottie Pippen. Pippen used to be teammates with Michael Jordan, who is Marcus’ father. Needless to say, there are some very bizarre things happening here. Marcus Jordan Has It All Figured Out

At one point, Marcus even reveals that he wants his father to be his best man. In the clip, Larsa doesn’t look all that pleased with this. However, that may just be a misinterpretation of her facial expressions. Jordan goes on to explain that he was the best man at his father’s wedding as well as his brother’s. Consequently, having his dad do it would prove to be a full-circle moment. That said, with the Scottie Pippen element coming into play, there is no doubt that this is all very weird.

Utah Jazz Stop Selling Bizarre Jumpman Shirt After Fan Backlash

The Utah Jazz has confirmed that they will no longer sell a shirt that appeared to show Michael Jordan dunking over the team name. The shirt was part of a minimalistic overhaul of the team identity last season driven by Nike and the Jordan Brand. However, the shirt riled up Jazz fans after its discovery given the painful memories of the two 90s Finals the Malone-Stockton Jazz lost to Jordan’s Bulls. The design can be found leaguewide, with each team having their own variation of the shirt. However, it’s one that unfortunately will get very little love amongst the Jazz faithful.

The Jazz lost back-to-back Finals against Jordan’s Bulls in 1997 and 1998. Jordan averaged 32.3 points per game in 1997 (4-2 Bulls) and 33.5 points per game in 1998 (4-2 Bulls). The two-season stretch also included perhaps Jordan’s most iconic game – Game 5 of the ’97 Finals, aka “The Flu Game”. Jordan put up 38 points despite being visibly ill. In subsequent years, Jordan has floated the idea that he was poisoned by a Jazz-supporting pizzeria the night before. Regardless, it’s a particularly painful stretch of Jazz history that is not best served by a minimalist t-shirt celebrating Jordan.

Jazz Quietly Confident About 2023-24

The upcoming NBA season is a chance for the Jazz to bounce back after a down year in 2022/23. The Jazz finished 37-45 amid something of a roster rebuild, having traded away Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. This is now Lauri Markkanen’s team. The Jazz have three rookies on the roster after making three picks in the first round of this year’s NBA draft. If everyone takes the developmental steps they need to, the Jazz could be a Play-In team this year.

However, they have the misfortune of being in the Western Conference. That means regular meetings with the defending champion Nuggets and the conference superteams in the Suns and Warriors. Furthermore, teams like the Lakers and Grizzlies will be eager to keep up their forward momentum. Despite fans, have are quietly confident that the team is finally in a place to truly move on from the losses of Gobert and Mitchell.

Michael Jordan Is Now Worth $3 Billion

mj

Who still wants to be like Mike?

Retired NBA legend Michael Jordan just became the first athlete ranked among America’s wealthiest people on the Forbes 400 list. Jordan, who has been a billionaire since 2014, catapulted onto the Forbes 400 list this year following the sale of the Charlotte Hornets in August for $3 billion. The former pro basketballer had been the team’s majority owner since 2010, when he bought the franchise for $275 million. Jordan built his fame through his 15 seasons with the NBA, but Forbes notes that his fortune largely stemmed from his off-court ventures.

For instance, Jordan earned $94 million during his time with the NBA, but he has scored an estimated $2.4 billion in pre-tax earnings from branding deals with McDonald’s, Gatorade and Nike — with the latter representing a sizable portion of his wealth. His most recent annual royalty check from Nike was for $260 million, Forbes notes.

Forbes reports:

Since Michael Jordan stepped onto an NBA court for the first time in 1984, earning an outsized payday has been a layup. Across his 15 NBA seasons, he hauled in $94 million and was the league’s highest-paid player in 1997 and 1998. But it was off the court where Jordan put serious air between himself and every other athlete on the planet, earning an estimated $2.4 billion (pre-tax) over his career with brands such as McDonald’s, Gatorade, Hanes and, of course, Nike, where his most recent yearly royalty check was for some $260 million.

Jordan had his biggest score in August, though, when he sold his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets at an eye-watering $3 billion valuation. Even if he had sold at Forbes’ most recent valuation, an estimated $1.7 billion in 2022, it would have been a coup for the 60-year-old Hall of Famer. Instead, the 27th most valuable franchise in the NBA traded hands for the second-highest sale price in league history and nearly 17 times its value when Jordan became principal owner in 2010.

That places him in rare air. With an estimated net worth of $3 billion, Jordan has arrived on The Forbes 400, marking the first time a professional athlete has ranked among America’s wealthiest individuals.
