DJ Khaled says he’s got “new anthems” on the way soon. While sharing a clip of himself performing after the grand opening of his concept storefront in Miami, We The Best × SNIPES, Khaled told fans to look out for new music.
“FANLUV NEW ANTHEMS IS NEAR! @wethebest the luv from 500,000 people just FYI,” Khaled captioned the post. “Anthems will fly PON dem head soon. Im for the people, FANLUV YOUR LUV ENERGY IS FELT!” When DJ Akademiks reposted the caption on his account, fans had mixed feelings about the new music. One wrote: “He gone have to hit up Drake to save his album like always,” while another added: “He has alot to learn from Metro’s heroes and villains.”

As for Khaled’s We The Best × SNIPES storefront, it comes after he began working with the brand for a campaign back in 2019. “I’m proud to partner and launch the We The Best × SNIPES store in Miami Beach,” he wrote on Instagram, last week. He also discussed the venture during an interview with PEOPLE ahead of the opening. In doing so, he further teased new music.
“The way I make music — I’m in the middle of working on new music as we speak — I bring a set-up everywhere I go,” Khaled said at the time. “It’s great to have a studio set up there in case I have to do some drops or record stuff for my album or do a feature or just listen back to new stuff I’m working on. I think it’s unique and special. I think it’s never been done before.” Back in July, Khaled also previewed new music with Meek Mill and Rick Ross.
Christopher Michael Harty, better known as Prince or Prince Michael of “Love & Hip Hop: Miami,” just got himself into some more hot water. Moreover, reports recently surfaced of his arrest in Miami recently, allegedly for burglary with battery or assault, and no further details have emerged about it. While we don’t know the circumstances behind it, many people in the comments of coverage of this development remarked that he’s been in jail a lot as of late. Hopefully things pick up for him in the future, but it’s nonetheless worrisome alleged behavior. Surely within the next few days, authorities and the Florida native himself might reveal more information about the case.
Furthermore, this further concerned fans thanks to previous legal trouble that the reality TV star got himself into. For example, back in August of 2021, authorities arrested Prince for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend at the time, which also involved battery charges. With this history in mind, many lament that someone with an already successful career made carried out these alleged actions. If it’s not true, then something fishy’s going on with these multiple claims.
However, there are other legal battles of the 33-year-old’s that turned out a bit better for him. The most notable one concerned his consistent attempts to score a boxing match with Tory Lanez after multiple claims of physical assault against him. In December of last year, Prince and Lanez reportedly settled their lawsuit concerning these assaults, and the boxing match never manifested itself. Apparently they were able to reach a financial agreement, and ironically the two faced larger legal trouble later on.
Meanwhile, considering his high profile, this likely won’t be the last we hear of this arrest. We’ll see whether that’s mostly due to gossip or based on more legitimate and serious charges, and either is just as likely. If anyone knows that, it’s Kim Kardashian herself, who documented her Miami outing with some sizzling snaps. In them, she donned a beautiful black leather top with a strapped open back, plus some matching pants for the occasion. “Let’s go! Miami nights,” the 42-year-old captioned her Instagram post, with an additional black heart to color-code with the fit.
Of course, this is entertainment royalty as a whole that we’re talking about in reference to NAV’s inclusion. He might’ve just debuted with the Kardashians, but he’s got links all over the rap game and a lot of respect and acclaim from his peers. In a star-studded Friday night affair, Kim Kardashian set Miami abuzz with her presence at LIV Miami. Following a lavish dinner at the newly opened Gekkō, owned by Bad Bunny, rumors of Kendall Jenner dating the rapper only added to the excitement. Kodak Black is having one wild weekend, as he just performed as one of the biggest artists at Rolling Loud Miami on Friday (July 21). While his set was quite bizarre, what with him rambling on and refusing to leave the stage until the last second, it was nonetheless very entertaining and held many of his big hits. In fact, he even took the time to debut his verse on his new collaboration with 6ix9ine and his girlfriend Yailin la Mas Viral, “Shaka Laka.” Of course, a lot of people aren’t happy with this collab since the rainbow-haired rapper is shunned as a snitch in the hip-hop community, but Kodak doesn’t care. Interestingly enough, Yak also took the time to salute another figure in the rap world that faces similar accusations- and exposes people for it, too.
“That’s why I salute 1090 Jake, for putting all these f**k n***as out there,” Kodak Black said onstage. “I got s**t to do, I got people to take care of, you heard me?” For those unaware, 1090 Jake often makes headlines by posting alleged paperwork of rappers online, which always causes a lot of debate. One recent hip-hop affiliate who faced this was Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas.
However, that wasn’t all the Rolling Loud-related Kodak Black content that graced this week. Another was an interview that MONTREALITY did with him at Rolling Loud Portugal, an animated conversation that held a behind-the-scenes look at his industry relationships. At one point, the Florida MC shouted out a certain Canadian superstar for his generosity and support. “That boy Aubrey!” he exclaimed. “That’s my dog. Drake sent me like 600 bands in Bitcoin. Playboi Carti just had an incredibly eventful and surprisingly enlightening night for his Rolling Loud Miami headlining performance. Of course, Cardi’s energy absolutely electrified the crowd as he went through old classics, Whole Lotta Red hits, and even new unreleased music. Given his time back in the studio, this is incredibly exciting news for fans who have been waiting for a new release for almost three years now. Moreover, it seems like the trap pioneer only gets bigger with each passing festival set, and he brought a lot of special things for this concert in particular beyond the songs he played. Furthermore, he recreated an Opium gas station onstage with some cars to boot, and he got to interact with a lot of fans that followed him around afterwards.
During these interactions, Playboi Carti suggested that his new album, rumored to be titled Music, will be out “ASAP.” While this may seem like wishful thinking to many, other recent revelations point to that conclusion, as well. For example, he recently announced the “Antagonist” tour, which will feature him, Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang. What’s more is that, according to descriptions of the Opium trek from its Berlin venue, Music is set to release at some point during these performance dates.
Elsewhere during his Miami weekend, Playboi Carti hit the E11EVEN nightclub for a wild and bizarre afterparty. That’s because, as the 26-year-old performed atop a cage, his Opium labelmates stood inside it. Sure, it’s just a nightclub performance, but this adds onto the stacked list of raucous and provocative stage design that Carti graces festivals with. For those who went to Rolling Loud Miami last year, you may remember that his cohorts wrecked white vans with baseball bats as he performed. Rolling Loud Miami is going down next weekend, and it promises to be a truly amazing show. Overall, so many big artists are going to be in attendance. From Friday, July 21st to Sunday, July 23rd, the festival will be available for streaming through Prime Video as of 4 PM EST. Additionally, you will be able to watch the show on Twitch at the Amazon Music and Rolling Loud channels. This is a huge upgrade from previous years, and overall, it is very much in the best interest of fans. This pro-consumer approach is definitely going to be appreciated. For now, however, it is still unknown if every single artist has agreed to a stream.

I can’t wait to see you all at the first-ever We the Best Foundation Golf Classic. Damian Lillard’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, has reportedly advised teams other than the Miami Heat against trading for Lillard. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the latest NBA news notes that Goodwin has warned these teams that they would be acquiring “an unhappy player.” This move is seen as a strategy to ensure that Lillard ends up at his preferred destination. This specifically being in place for when the Portland Trail Blazers decide to trade the seven-time All-Star.

Goodwin later confirmed his client’s desires when speaking to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson. He stated, “I do what I should for my client. Some teams I did call. Other teams have called me. It’s a respectful relationship with most teams. Truthfully, he wants to play in Miami. Period.” This statement makes it clear that Lillard’s preference is to play for the Miami Heat.

Goodwin also mentioned that he had advised Blazers general manager Joe Cronin to have a “meaningful negotiation” with the Heat. This is seen as a move to facilitate Lillard’s move to his preferred team. However, Wojnarowski noted that this is a “time-honored agent maneuver” designed to suppress the trade market for a player to get them to a predetermined destination. He also mentioned that general managers he spoke with said it “won’t impact how they’ll proceed” as they explore talks with the Blazers for Lillard.

Following Portland general manager Joe Cronin’s confirmation on July 1 that Lillard has requested a trade, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Lillard is “specifically” seeking to play for the Heat. However, if things don’t work out with Miami, the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Utah Jazz could be of interest to Lillard, according to The Athletic’s Sam Amick.

The biggest obstacle that appears to be facing the Heat is a lack of appealing trade assets for the Blazers. Wojnarowski mentioned earlier this week on SportsCenter that Portland is “not impressed” with Miami’s offer. Particularly, because the Blazers aren’t interested in Tyler Herro as they already have Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, and Scoot Henderson as backcourt options.
The Blazers’ Perspective
From the Blazers’ perspective, they are “going to do what’s best for the team.” The team is looking to build a championship-caliber roster. Trading a franchise icon like Lillard makes it easy to understand why the Trail Blazers would want to maximize their return. However, they made things more difficult for themselves by extending his contract last summer.

Lillard is signed for the next three years. The player also has a $63.2 million player option for the 2026-27 season when he will be 36. Teams could be more reluctant to give up significant future assets for a player at this stage of Lillard’s career and with that contract. Despite this, Lillard remains an incredibly valuable player. The main reason is that he is coming off a season in which he averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game in 58 starts.

Just as his currently still locked-up label mate Young Thug dropped his new album from behind bars, Gunna was out on the town in Miami. Photos and videos of the rapper in Miami hit the internet this morning. As is often the case under Gunna posts, fans had plenty to say about the rapper. As usual, plenty of people brought up the rapper’s alleged snitching earlier this year. Fans were also quick to call out his outfit, a black sleeveless shirt with white buttons and some baggy brown pants.
Sentiments toward Gunna might have been even more hostile than usual following the release of Young Thug’s new album Business Is Business. Though fans are still dissecting the project they’ve already identified lyrics that could be shots at Thugger’s YSL partner. The song “Jonesboro” features the lyrics “N*ggas told and he was my homie, I can’t miss him, Ain’t nobody feel him.” While some saw the lyrics as an obvious shot at Gunna, others weren’t convinced. Some claim that the song was recorded before the pair were even ever arrested in the first place.
Gunna has been defending himself from numerous fronts since taking a plea deal in the YSL RICO case a few months ago. On a recent podcast appearance, Lil Durk didn’t mince words with his thoughts toward the rapper. “That man told,” the “All My Life” rapper said. He may or may not have just taken a hit from a former collaborator. In a leaked snippet of a new music video, Lil Baby appears to take aim at his fellow Drip Harder rapper for snitching. Given the pair’s extensive history of collaborating that shot in particular may have hurt.
In the wake of those statements, Gunna appears to have unfollowed both Lil Baby and Lil Durk on Instagram. Gunna released a new album of his own last week.
