Just days after releasing the Young Thug album Business Is Business, the project’s producer Metro Boomin shared a deluxe edition reissue, subtitled “Metro’s Version.” Here, the tracklist is rearranged and two new songs have been added — “Sake Of My Kids” and “Money” featuring Juice WRLD and Nicki Minaj. The latter track turns out to be especially poignant, as it reunites the incarcerated Thug with the late Juice WRLD, giving fans a glimpse of what that joint album they were supposedly working on in 2019 would have sounded like.
It also reconnects Nicki and Juice after he joined her European tour in 2018. Unfortunately, they were never able to collaborate with each other, but she paid tribute to him with her Billboard Women In Music Game Changer Award acceptance speech, calling him a “kindred spirit.” Of course, Nicki and Thug had previously teamed up on a remix of one of Thug’s early hits, “Danny Glover,” as well as on Elton John’s 2021 Lockdown Sessions cut, “Always Love You.”
21 Savage has become a force to reckon with in the hip-hop scene. He’s resonated with fans due to his deep, gritty voice and raw, candid lyrics about his experiences growing up in Atlanta’s tough streets. He has a unique style of storytelling that fuses trap music’s pulsating beats with stark realism. It helps create an ambiance that’s both haunting and captivating. If you’re a fan of 21 Savage, you’ll likely appreciate the following artists making waves in the same arena.
Metro Boomin’s early days were as a rapper, but he found his footing as a record producer and songwriter. His collaborations with 21 Savage, such as “No Heart” and “X,” have helped shape the Atlanta trap scene. Metro’s beats share the same brooding intensity that 21 Savage’s lyrics do, making them a perfect duo.
Known for his unique blend of trap and R&B, Future has been a leading figure in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene for over a decade. His distinct autotuned vocals and trap-infused beats mirror the stylings of 21 Savage, creating a similar mood of raw street authenticity.
Offset: From The Same Cloth
As a member of the hip-hop trio Migos, Offset’s rap style has often been compared to that of 21 Savage. His lyricism, which largely focuses on his experiences in Atlanta, is as gritty and authentic as 21 Savage’s. The Migos’s trap anthems, with heavy basslines and snappy snares, are reminiscent of the beats that 21 Savage typically raps over.
Coming from the southern state of Florida, Kodak Black’s music shares many similarities with 21 Savage’s. His lyrics often deal with his upbringing in a rough neighborhood, and his deep voice and slow, deliberate flow are reminiscent of 21 Savage’s style.
Another Atlanta native, Lil Baby, has gained widespread acclaim for his introspective lyrics and distinctive voice. His music, much like 21 Savage’s, combines trap beats with vivid storytelling, reflecting the struggles and triumphs of street life.
The Broader Influence Of 21 Savage
The influence of 21 Savage extends beyond these artists, permeating the broader hip-hop genre. His style has proven to be a successful formula, inspiring numerous upcoming rappers to explore the same musical path. As we continue to see the evolution of hip-hop, the significance of 21 Savage’s contribution becomes more apparent.
In conclusion, if you’re a fan of 21 Savage, a wealth of music is waiting for you to discover. From Metro Boomin’s intense beats to Future’s autotuned vocals, Offset’s gritty lyricism, Kodak Black’s southern roots, and Lil Baby’s introspective storytelling, these artists offer a taste of 21 Savage’s distinctive style. They are a testament to the powerful influence of 21 Savage in shaping the sound of contemporary hip-hop. The echoes of street authenticity resonate throughout their music, offering listeners an immersive journey through the raw realities of life.
Given his current legal affairs, Young Thug’s ability to speak directly with his fan base is limited. However, the “Parade On Cleveland” rapper has nothing but space and opportunity to get several messages out via his new album, Business Is Business. After the initial excitement of the project wore off, fans began to take a deep dive into the lyrics speculating that his former friend Gunna wasn’t the only one to be dissed on a track (although he wasn’t a target either).
Several supporters jumped onto social media to accuse Young Thug of dissing Saweetie on his track “Want Me Dead,” which features 21 Savage. The lyric in question reads, “My n**** ain’t even tryna hit sweetie / That b*tch turn me off, no kizzy.” While Young Thug is not above being shady on a record, he ensured this wasn’t one of those instances.
To make it crystal clear, Young Thug took to Twitter to deny dissing Saweetie but also took it a step further to clarify that stanza. “Her name is Saweetie. I said, sweetie. #BusinessIsBusiness,” wrote the entertainer.
Young Thug is set to release his project Business Is Business tonight, but its release is through unfortunate circumstances for the rapper. For a little over a year now, the rapper has been locked up on racketeering and conspiracy charges connected to his YSL collective, which prosecutors believe is a gang organization. As a result, Thug’s musical releases since then have been limited to features alongside names like Metro Boomin, Yeat, Rae Sremmurd, and others. Now, all of that is going to change with the release of Business Is Business.
The project was first announced with a countdown timer that Young Thug, Metro Boomin, and others posted on their social media pages. Hours before the timer finished, Thug and Metro, as well as Drake, shared the artwork for Business Is Business, and now we have the tracklist. Business Is Business arrives with 15 songs and features from Drake, Future, Travis Scott, Yak Gotti, 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Bslime, Lil Got It, and Nate Ruess.

As of today, it’s been about two years since Young Thug released a project with that being his fall 2021 effort Punk. Since then, we’ve heard him on albums from the likes of Metro Boomin, Gunna, Future, Lil Baby, Yeat, and others, but outside of that, Thug’s career has been stunted by his spring 2022 arrest. He, along with other members of his YSL collective, were arrested on racketeering and conspiracy charges. Now, for the first time since that arrest, it appears that the music world will get a new body of work from Young Thug.
The rumored project appears to be titled Business Is Business thanks to posts on Young Thug’s social media pages. The project was first announced last week with a countdown, and with just a few hours left on it, we now have the artwork for Business Is Business. Posted by Thug, Metro Boomin, and Drake, the artwork depicts Young Thug seated in a chair with his body turned to face the camera. Beside him on each side are four men who are facing frontward.
Metro Boomin and Drake also shared the Business Is Business artwork with Metro writing, “BUSINESS IS BUSINESS AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE TONIGHT!! YOU CAN’T STOP WHAT GOD HAS PLANNED!! #FREETWIN I LOVE YOU BRO.” Drake wrote on Instagram, “you owe me this time… midnight @thuggerthugger1.” Young Thug’s Instagram page replied to Drake’s post, writing, “U will be paid.”
Being behind bars isn’t stopping Young Thug from dropping some unreleased ones for his fans. The “My Wrist” rapper is teaming up with producer extraordinaire Metro Boomin on an upcoming release.
Both musicians’ official Twitter pages served as the purveyor of the exciting news by uploading a QR code with the caption, “Business Is Business.” Once scanned, users are redirected to a singular webpage that leads to a website with a countdown set for June 22 at midnight ET.
Although it is unclear if the collaboration will be an entire project or a one-off single, supporters of Young Thug shared their gratitude in advance. Outside of his appearance on Yeat’s “My Wrist” and Philmom Lee’s “Baby Don’t Cry,’ the entertainer’s camp hasn’t released any music from the rap star as the focus has been on his legal matters. Metro Boomin is keeping the secret close to his chest, only writing, “Just wait on it,” on Twitter as fans asked about what they should expect.
Metro Boomin is continuing to tease his forthcoming project with Future. While at his Heroes and VIllains pop-up in New York City, Metro Boomin was asked about his upcoming album with Future, and Complex got an answer.
“The ultimate album right now is about to be the one with me and Future,” Metro said. “Now that Spider-Man is out and people are loving and resonating with it, my focus can go to what me and Pluto got coming out. I’m not doing anything until that gets done.”
He added, “It’s tunnel vision on that one because I was spreading myself thin between Heroes & Villains, Spider-Man, Coachella, and still shooting videos for Heroes. But now the focus is on this album and we’ve been working.”
Metro Boomin’ hinted at a collaboration album with Future once, then he doubled down on it. Teasing the album in his Instagram recap of Coachella.

Grammy-nominated producer Metro Boomin made his Governors Ball Festival debut over the weekend, captivating the audience and closing out the first night in an unforgettable way. The festival already boasted an impressive lineup featuring renowned artists such as Lizzo, Lil Uzi Vert, Diplo, Haim, Ice Spice, 070 Shake, and more. Still, Metro Boomin’s performance took the energy to new heights.
Taking to the stage for the very first time at Governors Ball, Metro Boomin, a Diamond-certified producer, unleashed his musical prowess on the eager crowd. He mesmerized attendees with a selection of tracks from his recent album, HEROES & VILLAINS, which has garnered critical acclaim and recently achieved Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
After his electrifying set, Metro Boomin kept the party going by taking over the DJ booth at Schimanski in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn. The after-party was a thrilling extension of the festival experience, as fans continued to revel in Metro Boomin’s infectious beats late into the night.
Earlier in the day, Metro Boomin added to the excitement by attending the first day of his two-day celebratory HEROES & VILLAINS merchandise pop-up event in the trendy neighborhood of Tribeca. Fans flocked to the pop-up, eager to get their hands on exclusive merchandise and catch a glimpse of the prodigious producer himself.
Metro Boomin’s triumphant presence at the Governors Ball festival and the remarkable success of his album HEROES & VILLAINS solidifies his position as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. His exceptional talent and unwavering dedication continue to propel him to new heights, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his future endeavors.
Metro Boomin‘s work on the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack has received stellar feedback, and that’s made him happy. However, the “Creepin” musician isn’t starting there. His long list of forthcoming releases is enough to keep him booked through the rest of the year.
During a recent appearance, Metro teased an unreleased Future song, and now fans are demanding that he drop their collaborative album. The duo has joined forces on numerous occasions in the past, most recently on Metro’s song “Too Many Nights,” featuring Don Toliver, off his album, Heroes & Villains.
After the video snippet hit social media, Metro said, “It’s not really all the way like a song yet. It’s just a vibe. You know what, let me just drop this sh*t,” as he introduced the track.
Music buffs were excited by the sample used in the teaser, writing, “That’s Three Six Mafia – who the crunkest – of the tear the club up Thug’s album. He just put Future vocals over it. Still fire tho. Metro is heavily influenced by 3-6.”
