Metro Boomin & Future Fans Speculate That They Canceled Tour Dates Due To Low Ticket Sales

Future and Metro Boomin have canceled a couple of dates for their upcoming tour, namely shows in Milwaukee, Nashville, Columbus, New Orleans, and Tulsa on August 2, 6, 10, 20, and 25 respectively. As such, many fans are speculating on what could’ve prompted this decision, with low ticket sales in these cities being an easy theory to attach to. However, it’s unclear whether this actually contributes to the decision, as all these mentioned concerts already sold about half of their available tickets. Still, there’s not really much of another reason as to why this could happen at press time, so we’ll see if either artist ever addresses it in the future.

Actually, both Future and Metro Boomin have a lot to clear up and speak on these days, whether it be for the beef-sparking music they dropped this year or their personal moves. Moreover, in the producer’s case, he recently scared fans by suggesting that his next album will be the last project he releases on streaming services. We all know how contentious the debate between DSPs and the music industry’s artists has been for about a decade now concerning proper payment and support. It seems like that debacle might never fade, but moves from huge artists to combat this could lead to interesting results.

Regardless, Metro Boomin has a couple of big LPs in the works, so he’s got a lot to follow up on if his streaming service suggestion is in any way sincere. There’s his collaborative album with JID, plus a new collab tape with NAV that they recently teased. Will all or any of these come out eventually, or will they eventually fall under the the weight of platforms like Spotify and Apple Music? We’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, as for the Atlanta trap pioneer, Future is working on a new mixtape as well, so there should be even more heat from him sooner rather than later. Of course, we’re sure that many fans expressed disappointment when they heard this news about the canceled tour dates. Whether you’re seeing them live, or whether you’re looking forward to their next drops, it’s clear they will still dominate rap conversations for the rest of 2024. Once their tour kicks off, we’ll see exactly what we were missing, and we might even get an idea of what’s to come.

Metro Boomin Is A Fan Of Rod Wave Requesting “Future Type” Beats

Rod Wave wants to get out of the sad bag he’s built much of his career off of, as he recently asked the producer community via Twitter to fire him up a little more. “Stop sending me dem sad a** beats dat s**t ova I need some future type s**t,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. Fortunately, the Florida artist’s message, even though he took it down eventually, reached one of the most experienced scholars when it comes to Pluto’s instrumentals: Metro Boomin. “let’s goooooooo,” he quote-tweeted Wave’s words with a fire emoji, which made the likelihood of a more hype collab in the future a much more attainable prospect.

Furthermore, Metro Boomin knows exactly what Future-type beats sound like, as the legendary duo just released two very successful albums full of them this year. Maybe Rod Wave is looking for a specific type of Hendrix, as there are many different eras and styles to consider. Is he a Monster, a WZRD, a Hndrxx defender, a DS2 soldier, or does he love the throwback vibes on Astronaut Status? Either way, seeing a switch-up from the Nostalgia creative would be a very welcome change of pace, especially with the inspiration from a pioneer and icon in mind.

Metro Boomin Is Excited At The Thought Of Rod Wave Over Future-Type Production

However, Metro Boomin wasn’t as excited on social media before this due to a bizarre, brief, but still disrespectful beef with Soulja Boy. He took issue with the producer joking about him in a tweet from over ten years ago, and proceeded to invoke Metro’s deceased mother’s memory on Mother’s Day. Needless to say, things got pretty ugly, and it seems like 21 Savage took it upon himself to defend his Savage Mode series partner. Soulja’s since apologized, but it seems like the remnants of this petty callout will still haunt him in the form of the Slaughter Gang CEO.

Meanwhile, speaking of old tweets, Metro Boomin caught a lot of heat for the inappropriate nature of some of his old remarks, especially when compared to his clowning of Drake over similarly lewd topics. It’s been a weird few weeks on social media for him, but maybe a Rod Wave collab would get him right back on track. We’ll see whether these two actually link up in the future. If not, then producers will nonetheless flood inboxes, trying to replicate Pluto’s gravity.

Future & A$AP Rocky Are On Some Devious Behavior On Metro Boomin’s “Show Of Hands”

With all of the disses sent at Drake it can honestly be a little difficult to keep track of them all. However, A$AP Rocky’s on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU might be one of the more memorable. The reason for that is because Metro Boomin, Future, and Rocky put together a high-octane track with “Show of Hands.” On it the A$AP Mob member calls out Drizzy for essentially obsessing over Rihanna, something he wishes he had.

N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’? / I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son.” It is a pretty devious and harsh diss, but the next one does not hit as hard. “Heard you dropped your latest s*** / Funny how it just came and went (Ha-ha-ha).” This sees Flacko make fun of Drake’ last album For All The Dogs and how it was a pretty mid release in his catalog. But it comes across as contradictory since Rocky has kept fans starving for his first album since 2018.

But putting the heavily discussed sneak disses, “Show of Hands” is one of the strongest and hard-hitting cuts on the album. Appearing on side B featuring throwback-like Future cuts from the early 2010s, Metro lays down a very bassy and 808 heavy instrumental with a killer East Coast vibe. It fits the woozy and smoky vibes that Rocky typical brings and Future slots in perfectly on the beat. Be sure to check out the song with the link above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Show of Hands” by Metro Boomin, Future, and A$AP Rocky? Is this the best track on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Metro Boomin, Future, & The Weeknd Bring Immaculate Vibes To “We Still Don’t Trust You”

With both WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU and WE DON’T TRUST YOU out now, fans are going to compare which record is better. Some may even go song for song and debate which is better. One matchup that will be tough for many to choose a winner for are the self-titled openers. They are very different instrumentally, but both do set the tone tremendously for their respective tracklists.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference, but Metro Boomin, Future, and The Weeknd certainly did their thing. “We Still Don’t Trust You” sees the St. Louis producer go into a lane he has not dabbled in since 2020. There is heavy synth pop inspiration, and it sounds like something he helped craft for The Weeknd on After Hours. The consistent criticism from the community about this track so far has been the lack of substance from Future and The Weeknd.

For us though, the intro on this album is looking to be more cinematic and otherworldly and the minimal contributions from the superstars works in this case. MIKE DEAN is also back in the booth with Metro and we can definitely hear his transcendent synths across the instrumental. We are also enjoying this because Metro is exploring different sounds and building on something he got a bit of start on four years ago. After hearing what he can do across an entire album, we would love to see Metro continue to experiment with it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “We Still Don’t Trust You” by Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd? Is this the best track from either WE DON’T TRUST YOU or WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Out of all of The Weeknd’s guest appearances is this his strongest one, why or why not? Future & Metro Boomin “We Still Don’t Trust You”: 5 Best Beats

After releasing We Don’t Trust You just four weeks ago, Future and Metro Boomin are back with yet another full-length album. We Still Don’t Trust You is a direct sequel to its predecessor, building upon the duo’s long-lasting chemistry. The last time Future released consecutive albums was in 2017 when FUTURE and HNDRXX arrived within a week of one another. FUTURE highlighted the rapper’s signature trap sound while HNDRXX leaned into a fusion of rap and R&B. Musically, We Still Don’t Trust You acts as the HNDRXX to We Don’t Trust You’s FUTURE. Much of the album favors the melodic R&B side of his artistry. However, its surprise bonus disc features hard-hitting trap songs, reminiscent of Future’s legendary 2015 mixtape run.

Across its 25 tracks, We Still Don’t Trust You encompasses the different styles of Future. It reaffirms his creative range across two discs. Much like their previous effort, We Still Don’t Trust You highlights Metro Boomin’s skills as a producer, expanding upon the sound he and Future established long ago. Today, we are highlighting the five best beats from Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You. Take a look at the list, ranked from least to greatest, below.

5. “Luv Bad Bitches”

The sample of Brownstone’s “If You Love Me” is the centerpiece of the beat on “Luv Bad Bitches.” Its vocal loop, along with an ‘80’s style drum pattern creates a downbeat R&B groove, over which Future croons about liking “good girls” and especially loving “bad bitches.” The Brownstone sample is subdued within the mix, allowing Future’s voice to become the focal point of the song. The loop almost acts as background vocals as Future recreates the melody on the chorus. “Luv Bad Bitches” is one of many soulful moments on We Still Don’t Trust You.

4. “All To Myself”

Much like “Luv Bad Bitches,” “All To Myself” utilizes a faint vocal sample, assisting Future as he leans into his R&B side. Incorporating the vocals and lead melody of The Isley Brothers’ “Let’s Lay Together” into the song, Metro Boomin makes the sample his own with the percussion. The downbeat trap patterns build around the sample, allowing both Future and The Weeknd to fashion their own melodies. In addition to Metro Boomin’s sample and percussion, what really stands out on the “All To Myself” beat is the guitar playing from Mike Dean. Contributing to numerous tracks on the album, the multi-instrumentalist and producer brings the best out of Metro, resulting in a perfect blend of R&B and trap.

3. “Gracious”

Undoubtedly the most soulful beat on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You is “Gracious.” This track taps into Future’s knack for contemporary R&B, with the uncredited vocal loop acting as the beat’s driving force. The production on “Gracious” is quite relaxed as the vocals are complemented by a gentle acoustic guitar melody. Of course, trap percussion and 808 kicks underscore the melody, giving the song a classic Metro Boomin feel. With its laid-back soul and emphasis on melody, “Gracious” is an outstanding moment on We Still Don’t Trust You.

2. “We Still Don’t Trust You”

The opening title track on Future and Metro Boomin’s latest album begins rather mysteriously. In comparison to the cold trap production on “We Don’t Trust You,” this song starts the R&B-centric first disc with an upbeat synth-pop groove. Even without The Weeknd’s appearance on the haunting intro, its ‘80’s percussion, ominous bassline, and spacious synth work from Mike Dean feel Dawn FM-inspired. It is a familiar sound for The Weeknd, but Future also fits quite comfortably on the beat. Contrasting the trap edge of their previous album, the beat on “We Still Don’t Trust You” immediately sets the tone for a moody and melodic first disc. It also sets the bar quite high as it contains some of the most adventurous production on the tracklist.

1. “Red Leather”

Sometimes the best beats are the simplest, as exemplified in “Red Leather.” The calming guitar loop and minimal percussion create an open atmosphere for Future to weave between singing and rapping. It also finds a happy medium between the rap styles of Future and J. Cole, who makes a surprise appearance. What also makes the beat on “Red Leather” compelling are the slight variations in percussion as it adds and strips away percussive elements. It contributes an unpredictable component to the repeating guitar loop. Still, the melody itself is certainly pleasant enough to sustain its seven-minute runtime. The additional guitar melody during the final chorus is another exciting highlight on the standout track. Despite J. Cole’s surprise verse on “Red Leather,” the beat steals the show, closing the first disc of We Still Don’t Trust You on a high note.

“WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU” Receives Early First Week Sales Projections

Metro Boomin and Future gave fans a bit of a stylistic curveball with their second album in less than a month with WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. It had a lot of high expectations going in, after having to follow in the footsteps on WE DON’T TRUST YOU and its major hits. “Like That,” “Type S***,” “Cinderella,” “Young Metro,” and “We Don’t Trust You,” have proven to be the standouts and they are all pretty stellar trap cuts. But instead of giving another dosage of the initial album, it was a smart move for both artists to go in a different direction. But will WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU benefit from that in terms of sales projections?

The short answer is mostly yes. According to HipHopNMore, the early outlook for the album is looking to hover between 150-175K copies. For comparison, WE DON’T TRUST YOU sold a whopping 251,000 in its debut, which was the largest opening week at the time. If we are looking at this on face value, it would appear that fans enjoy the more aggressive and dark tracks from Metro and Future.

WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU Will Most Likely Go No. 1

But this is just after the album being out for almost two full days. We still have five days or so remaining before we get a better idea. Regardless, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU should still see a number one debut on the charts, especially with not much being released over the weekend. If it does reach the top like its predecessor, Future will then have 10 top-charting LPs and Metro will reach five.

What are your thoughts on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU so far and the sales projections? Do you think this is a reflection on the quality of the music, or some needing more time to appreciate it? What songs have you been messing with so far? Do you like Future over these kinds of beats and would you want to hear more if it in the future? Future & J. Cole Give Opposite Perspectives On Relationships On Metro Boomin’s “Red Leather”

Future and Metro Boomin have just fed fans for the next year and then some over the past three weeks. Both artists are showing why they are still some of the best that the genre has to offer. WE DON’T TRUST YOU was an explosive, cavernous and reserved take on trap. Its sequel, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, focuses more on the melodic R&B side of things. If you think about it, these new albums had a similar rollout schedule and style switch like FUTURE and HNDRXX did in 2017. Outside of the sheer number songs in this short period, the collaborations they have brought are contributing to the excitement. One of those is Metro, Future, and J. Cole being on “Red Leather.”

This team-up is enticing for a few reasons. Of course, the idea of Cole, Metro and Future being on a song together was something that no one saw coming. On top that, it adds to all the wild storylines surrounding these two projects. But separating “Red Leather” from the latter, how does this song actually sound? For us this a great track that has a lot of layers when you really dissect it.

Listen To “Red Leather” By Metro Boomin, Future, & J. Cole

It is especially interesting from Cole’s perspective. Sure, he does talk about the apology and “7 Minute Drill” for a brief moment, but the entire verse is sort of a metaphor for almost falling victim to doing things that are deemed as cool, such as dissing Kendrick which he clearly was not comfortable with. However, Cole goes about it from talking about not becoming involved with multiple women like so many rappers do. In fact, Future raps about exactly that, as he is known for dealing with several partners at once. Cole sort of acknowledges how clever this approach is too, “My story’s more clever, my similes was better.” Of course, this is just how we viewed his verse, but it does make sense when you think about it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Red Leather” by Metro Boomin, Future, and J. Cole? Is this the best song from WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Do you enjoy when Future gets into his more melodic and personal bag? Is this Cole’s best performance of 2024, why or why not? Metro Boomin & Future Reveal Chilling Artwork For “We Still Don’t Trust You”

What a time to be alive if you are a hip-hop fan. 2024 has been quite the resurgent year for the genre and two artists who are contributing heavily to the revitalized excitement are Metro Boomin and Future. The trap icons reunited for a full body of work in late March with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. It was a hit for many, as there were many bangers, with “Like That” leading the way. However, the superstar tandem is not done yet. With We Still Don’t Trust You dropping in two days, Metro and Future recently revealed the artwork, according to HipHopDX.

If you thought the WDTY cover was amazing, this one might be even better. This time around, the inseparable producer and rapper duo have opted for an even ominous black and white color scheme. In two of the quadrants, Metro and Future can be seen wearing black suits with white shirts underneath. Then, in the other pair, they are sporting all white with masks of some sort.

Metro Boomin, Future, & The Weeknd Build Up Anticipation With New Snippet Ahead Of “We Still Don’t Trust You

The hype within the trap rap circle is reaching uncontrollable levels with We Still Don’t Trust You just four days away. The sequel to Metro Boomin and Future’s WE DON’T TRUST YOU is especially exciting because it is an entirely separate album. This album might have a hard time living up the hype around its predecessor. That partially has to do with “Like That” being such a massive song. But also, there was a lot of quality to be had on WDTY. However, this new snippet from Metro, Future and The Weeknd, has us thinking this will be one heck of an album.

Of course, this trio were just seen on “Young Metro,” a woozy, dark, and atmospheric cut with stunning synths from MIKE DEAN. People were ecstatic to hear The Weeknd feature again, especially in this capacity. But some felt let down when all the Canadian superstar was tasked with handling adlibs and crooning. This new snippet holds out hope for us and everyone else, that things will be different this time around.

The instrumental is eerie once again. But instead of going full trap, it feels like it was inspired by After Hours. The steady drum pattern and synths feel 80s inspired and share similarities with “After Hours” as well. You can audibly hear The Weeknd wailing with Future sneaking in, “We still don’t trust you.” Fans are showing loads of optimism, saying, “So hyped for this.”

What are your thoughts on this new Metro Boomin, Future, and Weeknd snippet ahead of We Still Don’t Trust You? Will this be a better song that “Young Metro” from WE DON’T TRUST YOU?
