There were a lot of fabulous outfits on display at the Met Gala 2023. From Ice Spice to Doja Cat, everyone was showing out. The fits on display ranged from the vanilla to the stylish to the furry. This year’s theme was in honor of the late, and controversial, fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. However, one outfit that turned heads both on the red carpet and on social media was that of Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian showed up in a barely there pearl bead dress. Rows upon rows of pearls adorned the reality star’s upper body and legs, tied together with an off-white corset. The dress came courtesy of Schiaparelli, the iconic Italian fashion house. However, the outfit drew comparisons to another iconic Kim K look for many spectators. She walked the red carpet alone but attended the rest of the event with her daughter, North. Furthermore, she was briefly seen interacting with ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson at the event.

Kim K’s Met Gala Outfit Seen As 2007 Throwback

Let’s go back to 2007 for a moment. As the Bush presidency wound down and the world unknowingly moved towards a crippling financial crisis, Kim Kardashian began to take the spotlight. Her infamous sex tape with Ray J, Kim Kardashian, Superstar, was released in February. In October, the premiere of E! original series Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired. The rest, they say, is history. Fun fact, 2007 was also the year that HotNewHipHop was launched.

However, the year wasn’t over for Kim. In December, she joined an elite group of individuals as she starred on the cover of the December 2007 issue of Playboy. The issue also contained a multi-page spread about Kim, titled “Hollywood’s New Sex Star Kim Kardashian Takes It All Off”. The focal point of this spread was images of Kardashian appearing entirely nude, save for some strategically placed by strings of pearls. Cardi B Talks About Looks And Anxiety In A New Behind-The-Scenes Met Gala Video

Cardi B turned many heads at Monday’s Met Gala. She donned not one, not two, but three outfits throughout the event, each one extravagant and attention-grabbing.

In a new behind-the-scenes video with Vogue, the rapper talked about getting ready for the important evening and shared details about her iconic ensembles. “My inspirations for this look, it’s just Chanel and Karl. It’s a little mix, because if you see the top, it’s giving the infamous Karl suits with the tie, the white collar. Almost like his suit, but not really,” she said. “At the bottom, if you see the skirt it has the camellias, which is the flower. So yeah, it’s just a little bit of everything. It’s representing the house of Chanel and Karl. Karl is so infamous for his gray hair.”

“Every single time that I got to the Met, it’s fun of course,” she continued. “After my first time going to the Met, I always get anxiety. And the anxieties just grow and grow and grow.” She added, “Maybe because my looks are so spectacular that people just expect every year to be more amazing than the last, and it’s so hard because imagine competing with myself. That is sickening.”

Rihanna & A$AP Rocky’s Met Gala After-Party Looks May Be More Iconic Than Their Red Carpet Fits

The responses to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s two Met Gala appearances together have been mixed. In 2021, the famous pair went with oversized vibes. The rapper used a blanket as a cloak while his partner wore an extra-long Balenciaga coat, keeping herself concealed. They previously skipped out on appearing in 2022. This year, however, Rihanna made it clear she would be stepping out in style. Last weekend, she teased the big news in a vintage Chanel outfit during a dinner in New York. Some have said that Rih’s prelude look was even better than the one she served at the main event.

While her extravagant, floral design, accessorized with eyelash-clad sunglasses obviously wasn’t for everyone, the look the expecting mother wore for Dua Lipa’s after-party has the internet singing her praise. The all-white set was put together just for Rihanna by Chrome Hearts. It comfortably conceals her upper half while allowing her budding baby bump to sit above the matching skirt, which comes with a flirtatious slit up the front.

Throughout her second pregnancy, Rihanna continues to wear heels – these ones beautifully lacing up around her calves. Her accessories included white rectangle sunglasses, elegant pearls, and a small clutch. As for Rocky, his late-night look included jeans (though these ones weren’t bedazzled like the ones he wore on the red carpet), work under a beige trench coat, and a tie. He kept the details simple, matching his thick black boots to the sunglasses shielding his eyes from the paparazzi cameras.

While they brought him out and about plenty during their time in Paris, Baby Fenty stayed at home during his parent’s night out in NYC. Earlier on in her pregnancy, the soon-to-be mother of two shared a photo of her oldest on IG crying, joking that he was upset over being stuck at home during the Oscars while the sibling growing in her tummy got to sing on stage with her. Doja Cat Vapes On Met Gala Red Carpet Despite Anna Wintour’s No Smoking Rule

Doja Cat’s outfit for the 2023 Met Gala was definitely enough to keep her on the internet’s mind all week long. Nevertheless, we’ve barely begun to cover her antics yet. The California-born singer dressed as the late Karl Lagerfeld’s adored cat, Choupette, for her saunter down the red carpet. She was committed to the bit far beyond just her look. While speaking with Emma Chamberlain during a Vogue interview that’s currently going viral, Doja answered the YouTuber’s questions only with meows, leaving her obviously very confused.

While that moment was certainly hilarious, the “Best Friend” hitmaker was caught on camera in the background of another interview. Her cat-like appearance is obviously enough to earn a giggle. However, seeing her stare off into oblivion while hitting a vape in the middle of the Met Gala is sending some social media users into a tailspin. Doja appears to be unbothered by the fact that she’s committing a major no-no in breaking Anna Wintour’s no-smoking rule, though it’s worth noting she isn’t the first to do so.

Cardi B Shuts Down La La Anthony Beef Rumours: “She Has Helped Me A LOT!!!”

Last evening’s Met Gala appeared to go down without any drama or major incidents – though there were plenty of cats (and a cockroach) on the red carpet. On hosting duty for Vogue was La La Anthony, who spoke with a number of celebrities about their designer outfits for the evening. Among them were Ice Spice, as well as Cardi B, who’s been friends with the Power actress for some time now. Of course, it’s well known that Anthony is popular within the Hollywood circle, as she has close relationships with stars like Kim Kardashian and Ciara, just to name a few.

Despite her obviously being well-liked, internet trolls still tried to start beef between the Invasion of Privacy rapper and La La after seeing a video of their interview on Twitter. “It’s so obvious that she can’t stand her😭💀,” one of them wrote, getting attention from Cardi herself, who didn’t hesitate to clear up the speculation with a quickness. “Not true,” she wrote on Tuesday (May 2). “I talk to La La more than any celeb… She knows everything!!! If you ever need something she knows all the contacts,” the mother of two gave the socialite her flowers.

Teyana Taylor Orders Chick-fil-A At The Met

Teyana Taylor probably had the best time going to this year’s Met Gala. Although most times when we see Teyana outside, she’s usually enjoying life to the fullest, so this is nothing new. However, some of her celeb friends (Pusha T) weren’t feeling her choice of meal at the esteemed event. Teyana Taylor “embarrassed” her former labelmate by ordering Chick-fil-A to the Met. Push jokingly called out Teyana saying she was “embarrassing” him in front of all his celebrity friends.

Not only that, Pusha T posted on his Instagram story of the ordeal. “Teyana Taylor’s embarrassing me. She brought [Chick-fil-A] to the #MetGala. I want her away from me!…#HARLEM,” wrote the “Nosestalgia” rapper. He later added that even R&B legend Usher tried to stop Teyana Taylor, but to no avail. Although it was quite the spectacle, this is hardly the first time we’ve seen celebrities bring “normal people” food into a swanky event.

Last year Ray J went viral for going to town on a cup of noodles at the 2022 BET Awards. There must not be any food at these fancy events and award shows if this keeps happening. Despite getting absolutely cooked on social media, Ray J took it all in stride and revealed he had inked a deal with the noodle company following the incident. “Just got off the phone with Cup Noodles,” Ray J posted. “Shit good.” The 2023 Met Gala was filled with a ton of memorable moments.

The theme for this year was ” A Line of Beauty,” honoring the life and legacy of late high-fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. He was celebrated for his work at Chanel, however, the German designer had his hands dipped in many different ventures (even Magnum Ice Cream) before his passing in 2019 at 85 years old. Jack Harlow & Kendrick Lamar Pose For Photo At Met Gala

Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar met up for a photo at the 2023 Met Gala in New York City on Monday night. The “First Class” rapper shared the picture of the two of them in a post on Instagram, the following day. The theme for the event was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” in honor of the late designer.

“Was a pleasure working with you,” Harlow captioned the post. Matching with the theme, Harlow rocked a Tommy Hilfiger outfit while Lamar wore an all-black fit with a leather jacket, slick pants, dress shoes, and an MLB hat.

The Met Gala appearance for Harlow comes after the release of his third studio album, Jackman, which he dropped with limited promotion, last week. On the single, “They Don’t Love It,” Harlow crowned himself the best white male rapper since Eminem. He raps, “The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters/And hold the comments ‘cause I promise you I’m honestly better/Than whoever came to your head right then/They ain’t cut from the same thread like him/They don’t study, doin’ work to get ahead like him.” Harlow is also set to make his acting debut in a 2023 adaption of White Men Can’t Jump, later this month.

As for Kendrick Lamar, he recently wrapped up his Big Steppers Tour. It finished as the highest-grossing tour with a rapper as a headlining act in history having earned $110.9 million from 929,000 tickets across 73 shows. He outpaced Drake and Migos‘ Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour, Drake and Future‘s Summer Sixteen Tour, as well as Kanye West and JAY-Z‘s Watch the Throne Tour, and more for the honor. The concerts came following the release of Lamar’s fifth album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. He brought along Baby Keem and Tanna Leone for the tour.

Teyana Taylor Said No To Pea Soup And Just Brought Chick-Fil-A To The 2023 Met Gala Instead

At yesterday’s (May 1) Met Gala, guests were served a meal of, as Vogue notes, “chilled spring pea soup with baby vegetables, lemon crème fraîche, and truffle snow, followed by Ōra King salmon with vegetable nage, asparagus, pickled strawberries, and radish–all served on vintage china.” Caterer Olivier Cheng explained, “This menu was designed to honor the late fashion icon [Karl Lagerfeld] and pay homage to his favorite foods and global palate. These dishes were created to maintain seasonality while using some of his favorite ingredients, such as King salmon. There is a sophisticated elegance to these pairings, one we feel that he would have truly enjoyed.”

To that, Teyana Taylor said no and opted to bring her own Chick-Fil-A instead.

Pusha T couldn’t believe what he was seeing, so he documented it on his Instagram Story, showing off Taylor’s plate of chicken, waffle fries, and dipping sauce. He wrote on one of the videos, @teyanataylor is embarrassing me. She brought @chicfilausa to the #MetGala. I want her away from me…#HARLEM.” In another clip, Usher looks at what Taylor has going on and does some light teasing.

This has actually become a bit of a tradition for Taylor: At last year’s Met Gala, she brought chicken from Popeyes.
