North West Helped Recover Kim’s Pearls As Met Gala Fit Fell Apart

Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala outfit turned heads on Monday night. The reality star and businesswoman arrived in a Schiaparelli gown comprised of two sets of pearl necklaces. According to reports, the pearl aspects of the gown were comprised of 50,000 genuine freshwater pearls. Schiaparelli is an iconic fashion house. They also dressed gala co-chair Michaela Coel at this year’s event.

While it was not as extravagant as some of the other outfits on display, such as Doja Cat’s literal cat suit, Kardashian’s look suited her perfectly. It was seductive, provocative, and just a little overly extravagant. Furthermore, it didn’t earn her controversy like her choice to wear Marylin Monroe’s dress in 2022. However, these dresses are not meant to be worn for more than a few hours and Kim’s dress began to fall apart before she even stepped onto the red carpet.

North West was expected to attend the Met Gala along with her mother after she had been seen with her father in New York. However, she did not walk the red carpet, instead staying in the car for most of the event. North wore a vintage Chanel blazer paired with medium-washed denim straight-legged jeans and black Chelsea boots. finishing off the look with a conch shell clutch. However, Gala attendees must be at least 18 years old. Kylie Jenner also brought her daughter, Stormi, to New York prior to the Gala. Kylie wore a custom Jean Paul Gaultier dress to the event.

However, North played an important role as Kim’s dress began to fall apart on the way to the gala. “Some popped on the way, and I told my daughter to grab them all. They’re real pearls, and she was putting them in her purse,” Kardashian told Vogue. Premium freshwater pearls can cost as much as $3000 a pearl, meaning that losing even one would be throwing away a lot of money. While it’s unlikely that Kim’s dress cost $150,000,000, it’s still a lot of expensive resources to be dropping in central Manhattan. Doja Cat was asked many things at the 2023 Met Gala, to which all she could respond was a firm, cheeky, and slightly inflammatory “Meow.” Moreover, her stunning tribute to gala theme Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette turned all heads at the ceremony. Not only did she arrive in a shimmering cat suit dress, but she employed prosthetic makeup to fully emulate the cat look. Furthermore, if we were in her position, we also wouldn’t give up a fit like that so easily. In addition to her show-stopping pics from the gala, the “Woman” artist posted some more pictures of her laying on her bed with her cat suit.

Of course, the 27-year-old’s fashion choice wasn’t the most controversial part of her 2023 Met Gala appearance. Fans were quick to notice online that Doja Cat was spotted vaping on multiple occasions throughout the night. Considering that she previously canceled some tour dates due to throat surgery, this was disappointing for many fans. Still, if there’s anything we can count on Doja for, it’s to do things her own way and make impactful artistic statements while doing so.

Kendrick Lamar’s Spooky Met Gala Photos Creeps Out Fans

Kendrick Lamar hardly pops out but when he does, it’s a statement. During this year’s Met Gala, the California legend emerged with swagger as Chanel’s “ambassadors and friends of the house.” The rapper came through decked out in the high-end brand, which apparently includes a diamond-encrusted CC cap that he flaunted in newly surfaced photos from the uber-exclusive Met Gala. Joined by Naomi Campbell, Margaret Qualley, and Jennie Kim, the rapper appeared in Chanel’s celebratory flicks on their Instagram page.

However, Kendrick’s appearance in the photos seemed to be jarring for some. In one of the photos, only half of his face appears as he cracks an eerie grin that showcases the Chanel-branded diamond-encrusted cap on his front tooth. However, the second photo shows Kendrick posing alongside Campbell and Qualley with his entire outfit on display. “Ambassadors and friends of the House got together to celebrate the opening of The Costume Institute’s exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. On this occasion, they posed for a group portrait lensed by Inez & Vinoodh,” the caption reads.

K. Dot was undoubtedly dressed to impress at the Met Gala this year. The Compton native came through with a fresh black jacket and trousers that he held up with a red Chanel bandana. Despite his usual reclusive nature, he also linked up with several other artists including Stormzy and Jack Harlow. Although people like Doja Cat and Jared Leto came through with jaw-dropping outfits, Kendrick Lamar chose a simpler route and it evidently worked out for him in the end.

Besides the Met Gala appearance, Kendrick recently made history with the Mr. Morale tour, which officially became the highest-grossing hip-hop tour in history. ASAP Rocky Sort Of Apologized To The Woman He Jumped Over At The Met Gala

Earlier this week, a slew of celebrities turned heads with their ensembles at the 2023 Met Gala, but one, ASAP Rocky, did so with his efforts to get into his hotel beforehand. Rocky couldn’t approach the barricaded entrance of the Carlyle Hotel directly, so he took a shortcut through the crowd, jumping a barricade with a woman’s unwitting assistance, using her shoulder to steady his vault.

The woman then posted a selfie on Twitter in the immediate aftermath, looking equal parts amused, annoyed, and rumpled as she noted, “ASAP Rocky just literally jumped over me.” Rocky himself found the tweet the next day, expressing his own amusement and something similar to — but not quite — contrition. “LOL MY FAULT SWEETHEART,” he wrote back.

The woman was identified by The Independent as Madelyn Llanes, a 21 year old from Long Island, who recounted the startling incident. She says she initially rebuffed Rocky’s attempt to get through the crowd, not realizing that it was him and that he was trying to get over the barricade.

“I went to The Carlyle early in the day just so I’d be able to see everyone’s outfits up close as they’d head out,” she said. “What happened with A$AP Rocky is that I had felt someone tapping my shoulder, so I turned around and saw that it was him but my brain didn’t fully comprehend that it was him. He said, ‘Sweetheart I need to get through’ and I just told him ‘no’ because the barricade was right in front of me, there wasn’t really anywhere to go. He just pushed his way up and then hopped over and grabbed me and the guy next to me as he did. After he hopped over, he was like ‘thank you’ and then just laughed and flipped me off and then he went inside and that’s when I fully realized it was him.”

It’s unknown why Rocky was running so late that he needed to resort to such extreme measures, but as it turns out, Anna Wintour, who basically organizes the whole shindig, was pretty chill about Rocky and Rihanna showing up late, because as she put it in a past interview, Rihanna is allowed to show up late.

Ice Spice caught the eyes of many during her first Met Gala appearance. She arrived on the red carpet with a vintage film camera. The vintage camera she carried with her was the Argus C3 “Brick” camera. It was called “brick” because of its bulky structure.

The “In ha mood” rapper put a twist on the antique device. The camera was decorated with black and white diamonds surrounded by a rose gold frame. The Argus C3 “Brick” camera was created in 1939, and stopped producing more of the product in 1966. It was very popular during that time as millions of people used this specific camera.

This device caught many of the photos taken during World War II. When speaking with LaLa on the red carpet, the Bronx rapper tells the BMF actress that she is excited to take “some fire pictures.” La La mentions the camera and Ice Spice responds that she is “obsessed with her”.

Cardi B slayed this year’s Met Gala. This Monday (May 1), several of the biggest names in art and culture gathered at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum Of Art for Anna Wintour‘s annual benefit dinner. During the duration of the ceremony, the “Up” hitmaker stunned with three iconic looks.

Like many of the attendees, Cardi broke Wintour’s no-selfie rule, but of course, she looked to bomb not to invite back. Following Monday’s events, she shared a festive carousel of photos on Instagram.

During the Met Gala, it appears Cardi took a break so her four-year-old daughter, Kulture, could FaceTime with singer Billie Eilish. A screenshot of the three on FaceTime can be seen in the carousel.

This is a 180 from last year’s Met Gala, where Billie was rumored to have said Cardi’s performance was “so weird.” Shortly after, Cardi shared a message between the two, which cleared up any sort of rumors of a beef between them. She wrote, “I hate the internet ’cause one, how do y’all turn one of the most lit parties into drama? Two, [Eilish’s ‘Ocean Eyes’] is the song I cater to my daughter. Three, Billie is my f*ckin baby. Yesterday, from the met to the party, everything was drama free. Why do y’all wanna turn everything into mess?”

Perhaps a collaboration is in order.

Doja Cat might not be invited back to next year’s Met Gala after she was spotted vaping on multiple occasions at the event on Monday night. Anna Wintour and Met Museum Costume Institute curator-in-charge Andrew Bolton both remarked that smoking is a surefire way to get banned from the Met Gala during an interview with CBS’ Gayle King.

“What’s the best way to be invited and what’s the best way to never be invited back again? What really ticks you off, Anna?” King asked the two. “Smoking in the gallery,” Andrew interjected. “Touching the art.” “Smoking, yes,” Anna agreed, while Andrew added, “Those would be no-nos.”

Fans caught Doja vaping in the background of an interview between Emma Chamberlain and Jennie. The moment quickly went viral on social media. The Planet Her rapper previously spoke about smoking nicotine-free vapes during a conversation with Interview Magazine, last month.

“I haven’t smoked nicotine in like 10 weeks,” she told the publication. “And then Elle just came out with a shoot where I’m smoking a cigarette, but it was when I was smoking. They’ve had these photos in this interview for a thousand years, and now people are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s smoking again.’ But I don’t smoke. I’m nicotine free. And I love nicotine free vapes. Any zero nicotine vape doesn’t hit, it just feels like you’re breathing and it’s like, ‘What is this?’ It feels pointless. But this thing really feels… It hits, it has the same effect. I also got hypnotherapy.”

A$AP Rocky was set to attend the 2023 Met Gala, but it appeared he was running a bit late. Earlier in the evening, Rihanna was spotted entering The Carlyle Hotel solo. Then, to some fans’ surprise, Rocky was hopping a barricade to enter the building while other fans were strolling out.

He would later emerge dressed, next to a stunning Rihanna.

This year’s theme was in honor of the late, and controversial, fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. However, one outfit that turned heads both on the red carpet and on social media was that of Kim Kardashian.

Kardashian showed up in a barely there pearl bead dress. Rows upon rows of pearls adorned the reality star’s upper body and legs, tied together with an off-white corset. The dress came courtesy of Schiaparelli, the iconic Italian fashion house. However, the outfit drew comparisons to another iconic Kim K look for many spectators. She walked the red carpet alone but attended the rest of the event with her daughter, North. Furthermore, she was briefly seen interacting with ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson at the event.

Cardi B turned many heads at Monday’s Met Gala. She donned not one, not two, but three outfits throughout the event, each one extravagant and attention-grabbing.

In a new behind-the-scenes video with Vogue, the rapper talked about getting ready for the important evening and shared details about her iconic ensembles. “My inspirations for this look, it’s just Chanel and Karl. It’s a little mix, because if you see the top, it’s giving the infamous Karl suits with the tie, the white collar. Almost like his suit, but not really,” she said. “At the bottom, if you see the skirt it has the camellias, which is the flower. So yeah, it’s just a little bit of everything. It’s representing the house of Chanel and Karl. Karl is so infamous for his gray hair.”

“Every single time that I got to the Met, it’s fun of course,” she continued. “After my first time going to the Met, I always get anxiety. And the anxieties just grow and grow and grow.” She added, “Maybe because my looks are so spectacular that people just expect every year to be more amazing than the last, and it’s so hard because imagine competing with myself. That is sickening.”
