Megan Thee Stallion is taking one heck of a victory lap in the wake of releasing her new album, Megan. In addition to reupping one of her most high-profile partnerships with a hilarious commercial for Amazon Prime Day, she’s also been celebrating the success of her Hot Girl Summer Tour, which has brought both admirers and increased camaraderie with the current generation of rap girls. She was given a chance to talk about it all — and given an apology for a vulgar joke — on the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay show.

Right at the top of the episode, Sharpe issued his mea culpa for the tasteless joke, which involved a comment on Meg’s attractiveness that came across as very unattractive. During a prior episode in November with fellow former NFL star Chad Johnson, Sharpe noted that Megan was “stacked up like dirty laundry in a dorm room” then, in response to a question about dating her by saying he’d “have her stretched out like a quarter-to-three.”

While he acknowledged that he was out of line, he also assured her it was all said in jest — and as a country girl herself, Meg certainly understood.

Shannon Sharpe has apologized to Megan Thee Stallion for a joke he made on his podcast episode last year.

In case you missed it, Shannon Sharpe revealed he had a crush on Megan Thee Stallion but made the reveal rather explicit. Appearing on Night Cap with Chad OchoCinco, Shannon said, “I’d have her stretched out like quarter to three.”

He added, “I’d have her opening up like saloon doors.”

But the Internet wasn’t having it and shared their criticism of the NFL Hall of Famer.

Thee Stallion was a guest on his Club Shay Shay pod and Sharpe opened with an apology. “I want to apologize to you personally,” Sharpe said. “I always wanted to sit down and have a conversation with you but I didn’t know if that was going to be possible. I made a comment and told a joke. I said it in jest, but it would have been just as funny as I left you out of it.

“For any unwanted attention, harm, shame, or embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I want to say, as a man sitting before you, I apologize.”

Viewers of the 2024 BET Awards are still intoxicated by last night’s (June 30) ceremony. From Usher’s hotly debate Lifetime Achievement Award tribute to the flurry of individual performances, watchers have found a way to extend the televised celebration. One of the night’s entertainers, Megan Thee Stallion’s latest business venture, has something to keep the party going.

On May 19, the “Down Stairs DJ” rapper teased that she was gearing up to launch a tequila brand. Today (July 1) during her appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, Megan revealed that she has fellow Houston hottie Beyoncé to thank for the business’ formation.

When host Shannon Sharpe asked Megan about her next chapter as an independent artist, she revealed that it has leveled her up in all ways with the guidance of Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

“When I was in the situation with [1501] and I wanted to get out of it, they told me you need to do this on your own,” she said. “Like, ‘You already know what it is. You already have all the tools. All the legal sh*t you are going through, I know you are learning something. So you should figure out how to get out here and be your own boss.’”

Megan then opened up about the suggestion Beyoncé made. “Beyoncé is actually the person that inspired me to get my own tequila,” she said. “Because I used to be the cognac queen. I still am the cognac queen. But as much as I used to enjoy cognac, and I’ve promoted a lot of people’s liquor brands, she was like, ‘the next time I see you, you better have your own. You need to have your own alcohol.’”

In late November of last year, Shannon Sharpe was down bad for the “Savage” hitmaker on his second podcast, Nightcap.

The NFL Hall-Of-Famer was just saying anything and everything about her, talking about what he would do to the MC in the bedroom. “I’d have her stretched out like quarter to three”, Sharpe said to his co-host and former NFL wideout, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. “I do it three ways, Ocho: deep, hard, and continuously… I’d have her opening up like saloon doors”. Sharpe and Johnson did clear the air and apologize shortly after. However, after getting Megan on Club Shay Shay, he wanted to make sure he buried the hatchet in person. “For any unwanted attention, harm, shame, embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I wanna say as a man, as I sit here before you, I apologize”. Unofficial duos are always special to see in hip-hop, and we’re sure that many fans would go wild over a Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla collab album. Moreover, after the former’s opening performance at the 2024 BET Awards last night (Sunday, June 30), she joined the latter for her own medley of some of her big 2024 singles so far. They performed their collab “Wanna Be” together (sadly, no Cardi B for the remix version) and even had a twerk-off onstage. Overall, it seems like the “Hot Girl Summer” tour mates had a very great time at the ceremony, and their collaborative and personal bond is heartening to witness.

Furthermore, this is the wholesome message that Megan Thee Stallion had for GloRilla as she reflected on their tour together, for which Glo opened for Meg. “I love the bond that me and @glorillapimp have built in these past few weeks ! You are my sister 4L , you and cola never getting rid of me,” the Houston femcee shared via an Instagram caption. “I luv you 4L Meg [heart emoji, teary-eyed emoji],” her Memphis counterpart responded. “I’m so glad I got to do dis tour with you I wouldn’t have had it no other way [party emoji]. I can’t wait for dem to hear dat hot s**t ahhhh so excited.”

“Da hot s**t,” of course, was their collaboration on Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN, which follows GloRilla’s own project Ehhthang Ehhthang. They both stand as some of the hottest releases of 2024 so far, and we’re sure that they have much more to offer fans throughout the rest of the year. Also, their dance battles are nothing new, as Latto challenged them to one while backstage at the “Hot Girl Summer” tour.

Meanwhile, they all also linked up with Flo Milli on this trek, and with many collabs in between all of them this year, fans hope that they continue with even fresher and more unique ideas. GloRilla has one of the year’s biggest songs so far with “Wanna Be,” and that tune and others made the cut for her 2024 BET Awards performance.

Right from the jump, GloRilla decided to enter the stage via a (prop) parachute. From there, she ran through an energetic medley featuring “Yeah Glo!,” “TGIF,” and “Wanna Be.” “Wanna Be,” of course, is a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. Meg opened the BET Awards with a performance of her own, so she stuck around and gave Glo an assist by joining for the song, even wrapping things up with an on-stage twerk-off.

She recently hosted a “WAP” reunion by getting Cardi B on a remix of her and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be,” which was already in contention for Song Of The Summer consideration even without Cardi. Megan Thee Stallion is delivering the heat on and off the microphone. With the “Down Stairs DJ” rapper’s latest album, Megan, out on streaming platforms, fans are joining in on the lyrical flames.

Tonight (June 30) at the 2024 BET Awards, the H-town hottie brought her Hot Girl Summer Tour to Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater.

To open the show, Megan took to the stage with a scorching melody of her latest tracks. As she broke free from her shell (in this case, a mock snake egg), Megan began with “Hiss.” Although, the evening’s host, Taraji P. Henson, promised the evening would be about love, the crowd remembers the origins of the striking.

When the track first dropped, Megan had a lot to get off of her chest against her ex-boyfriend Pardi, frenemy Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, and more.

Next up, “Boa,” the follow-up to “Hiss.” Megan was joined by an army of dancers to help shake the stage with a thunderous twerk session. To close out the set, decided to pivot to a newer song, “Where Them Girls At.”

Despite it being a fresh release, online users have already crowned it a fan favorite, and based off the audience’s response it might be true.

Megan Thee Stallion is in celebration mode. She’s dominated 2024 thus far, with number one singles and a gargantuan tour. She’s also managed to steal her fair share of guest spots. The rapper is in the midst of her peak, and she’s making it count. Megan Thee Stallion threw an album release party to commemorate her new record, Megan, and she surprised guests by bringing out a live snake. It gets better. The “BOA” rapper decided to handle the snake herself, and show it off to some of her famous friends.

Megan posed with the snake alongside GloRilla and Asian Doll. One of the photographers snapping pics of the event asked what the snake’s name was. Unsurprisingly, Megan Thee Stallion claimed the snake is also named “Megan.” It is promotion for a self-titled album, after all. The decision to bring a snake to the release party makes perfect sense, given the serpent motif that’s been running throughout Megan’s new album. Her lead singles were called “HISS,” “Cobra” and and “BOA.” She laid out her decision to go in a “snake” direction during the Megan teaser. In the teaser, the rapper can be heard saying: “Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past, over and over again.”

Megan Thee Stallion Showcased A Snake Named “Megan”

Megan Thee Stallion expanded upon this concept during an interview with L’Officiel USA. She made it clear that she doesn’t condone so-called “snake behavior,” which talks about a lot on the album. She’s using serpent imagery to relay the concept of “renewal and rebirth.” This ambition also aligns with the rapper’s previous comments have having a difficult period in her personal life. Megan Thee Stallion had to contend with public criticism in light of her court battle with Tory Lanez. It was the release, and major success of “HISS,” that restored her confidence. Renewal, rebirth.

“We don’t just stop at the snake,” Megan Thee Stallion told the outlet. “We started with the snake because, first of all, I love snakes. But I feel like snakes are so misunderstood, especially in western culture. Snakes represent rebirth, spirituality.” The rapper also admitted that she liked the threatening connotations that come with snakes. “I like darker things,” she added. “Things that are a little scary. I like things that are unique. I picked the snake because… it’s kind of like an antihero.” Megan’s anti-hero era is off to a great start.

Megan Thee Stallion Plays Mediator As Jonathan Wright Gets Into It With Her Security

Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN‘s release party in Los Angeles allegedly faced some scuffles throughout, according to a video reportedly obtained by TMZ Hip Hop. Moreover, apparently celebrity hair stylist Jonathan Wright got into it with Meg’s security guard Tom Lang at the event, as apparently Lang didn’t know who Wright was and refused to allow him access. Eventually, the Houston femcee stepped in and beckoned her bodyguard to let the stylist through, and they reportedly chopped it up over some drinks. At press time, it’s unclear what details of this are actually accurate or which of the two parties was the disrespectful instigator.

Elsewhere, though, Megan Thee Stallion seems to have a big hit on her hands with MEGAN, both off of the strength of previous singles and new spicy material. Some fans reacted wildly to some supposed Nicki Minaj disses on the album, whereas others focused more on the anime references or more personal lyrical matter. Either way, it seems like there’s plenty of content to enjoy no matter what you’re looking for in a rap project. We’ll see how it ages in the year and how it stacks up to what’s to come.

However, one particularly hot topic of discussion online is Megan Thee Stallion’s new MEGAN cut “Down Stairs DJ,” which she dedicated to her… self-love, let’s say. “Me, myself, and I, and a rose / Ebony, lezzy, XVideos / Big titty, blonde hair, Anna Nicole / Spicy Spanish hottie, nympho,” she raps on the cut. Of course, it’s not like Tina Snow ever shied away from raunchiness in her previous material, but this became a particularly detailed account, so to speak. In addition, it also prompted a lot of folks’ appreciation for this topical focus and the general themes of self-love, lewd or otherwise, on the new album.

Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion may have defended Jonathan Wright this time around, but she’s not as forgiving of others in her circle. Megan Thee Stallion’s new album MEGAN is finally out, and fans have a whole lot to discuss and react to when it comes to this collection of tracks. For example, some fans are going wild over her anime references on the project, and others took note of some of the more emotional and personal lyricism on the LP. After all, the Houston femcee went through a lot over the past few years, situations that saturated media exposure and discussion certainly didn’t help either way. But one conversation around her, and concerning this new album as a whole, is probably a more intentional choice.

Moreover, fans couldn’t help but notice that there seem to be a couple of shots on MEGAN against Nicki Minaj, and we all know there’s history there. Their “HISS” and “Big Foot” disses kicked off a year of battles in the game, and Megan Thee Stallion might’ve doubled down on her stances with new bars here. However, this is mostly speculative and there’s not a lot of direct links to talk about… at least, that’s what usually is the case with these subliminals. But she chose to rap “I’m a motherf***ing brat, not a Barbie” on “Figueroa,” and a couple of lines on “Rattle” suggest that Roman was a main target.
