Vice President Kamala Harris brought hip-hop to Atlanta. At a campaign rally, Megan Thee Stallion performed and celebrated the presumptive Democratic Nominee for President.

In an online clip, Thee Stallion asked Harris, “What you got to say to the American people?”

Harris replied: “We are not going back.”

Before launching into a performance of “Body,” Thee Stallion delivered a message, signaling an effort to sustain women’s rights: “I know my ladies in the crowd love their body. And if you want to keep loving your body, you know who to vote for.”

Quavo Shouts Out Kamala Harris For ‘Standing On Business’ When It Comes To Ending Gun Violence During His Atlanta Rally Speech

Today (July 30), Vice President Kamala Harris brought her 2024 campaign trail down to the Dirty South. During the Atlanta, Georgia stop at the Georgia State Convocation Center, she had a few notable entertainers popped and show their support (fitting as it is one of the country’s musical hubs).

In between her performance set, Megan Thee Stallion verbalized her endorsement for the presidential hopeful. But at the podium, Quavo delivered an equally fiery speech. The “Mink” rapper revealed that his support for Harris boils down to her stance on ending gun violence, a heartbreaking issue that has directly impacted him.

In October 2022, Quavo’s nephew and longtime collaborator, Takeoff (of Migos & Unc And Phew) was tragically gunned down in Houston, Texas.

Watch Quavo’s speech video from Kamala Harris’ Atlanta rally and read the transcript below.

If y’all don’t know me, I got by the name of Quavo. Born and raised in the North side of Atlanta, the home of the Migos. This city has always been home to me. From playing in the streets to, and you know, nurturing me to teaching me how to be the man that I am standing before you today. So, I mean one of the issues that I care about is resolving the gun violence. You can’t understand the struggles of gun violence if you not in the field or the heart of it. So, one thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris is she always stand on business.

From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun safety laws today. So, it’s only right in the birthplace of the culture, it’s also the same place where we launched the first African-American woman to run for president. Yeah, we changing the culture again. So, if you never voted before make sure that you get out and vote right now because this the real one. And in the words of my brother Takeoff, let me get a Kamala.

Megan Thee Stallion Declares ‘Hotties For Harris’ During Her ‘Savage’ Performance At Kamala Harris’ Atlanta Rally

Megan Thee Stallion is a marketing maven. The “Where Them Girls At” rapper has coined several catchy phrases and nicknames that have made its way into popular culture. Now, she’s hoping her latest play on words leads one presidential hopeful into the White House.

Today (July 30), Megan Thee Stallion threw her support behind Vice President Kamala Harris during the politician’s rally in Atlanta, Georgia.

As Megan Thee Stallion took to the Georgia State Convocation Center stage, she proudly declared: “Hotties For Harris.”

A slogan that he super fans (of voting age) are sure to run with until the presidential election this November. Then, she broke into a performance of her hit song, “Savage.”

Megan also performed her viral record, “Body,” while tying it into Harris’ campaign pledge to restore women’s right that have recently been revoked, restricted, and overturned. “Now, I know my ladies in the crowd love they body,” she said. “If you want to keep loving your body, you know who to vote for.”

The H-town hottie didn’t forget about her latest fan-favorite track, “Mamushi.”

Megan isn’t the only musician to throw their support behind Harris. Charli XCX has fully embraced her brat-branding being used to drum up support for younger voters. Beyoncé kicked things off with an approval for her track “Freedom” to be used in Harris’ official presidential campaign video.

Her opposition, Donald Trump, has a few musical supporters as well, including Kodak Black, Swae Lee, and at one point, Sexyy Red. But none quite with these ladies’ superpower.

Kamala Harris made extensive use of hip-hop culture during her campaign rally in Atlanta. She dissed Donald Trump by quoting a Migos classic. She had Migos star Quavo on hand to endorse her gun control policies with a rousing speech. And she called upon Megan Thee Stallion to perform her latest hits during the event. Megan didn’t get a chance to give a speech like her peer, Quavo, but she did find time to voice her political stance during her performance.

Megan Thee Stallion gave attendees an electric mashup of her biggest singles. “Body” and “Mamushi,” her collab with Yuki Chiba collaboration, were some of the notable titles. Megan’s electricity onstage has been verified time and again, though. What set the performance apart from countless others were the comments that Megan Thee Stallion made in between songs. The rapper made it crystal clear that she advocates for abortion rights throughout the U.S.. She used the title of the aforementioned “Body” as a segue. “Now I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies,” she told the audience. “If you want to keep loving your bodies, you know who to vote for.”

The Kamala Harris didn’t stop there. Megan Thee Stallion let the instrumental for “Savage” play out while she made note of Harris’ historic importance. “I’m so happy to be here, Atlanta,” she noted. “We about to make history with the first female president. The first Black female president, let’s get this done.” Megan then coined a hashtag that’s going to be everywhere for the next couple months: #HottiesForHarris. She really pulled out all the stops, and the crowd ate it up. Megan Thee Stallion has been vocal in her support for abortion rights for most of her career.

She discussed the important of protecting women’s’ reproductive rights during an April interview with Vogue. “I just wanna kick this off by saying, my body my business, and I do what I wanna do with it,” the rapper asserted. “I have a bigger purpose to use my voice to speak out against injustice. It feels like women have to fight harder than ever to make their own choices regarding their own bodies, families, and futures.” Kamala Harris has similarly advocated for the restoration of abortion rights. She has also commended Megan Thee Stallion for using her platform to promote such an important cause.

Megan Thee Stallion Celebrated Simone Biles’ Latest Gold Medal By Sharing A Video Of Biles Dancing To ‘Where Them Girls At’

Simone Biles posted a video of herself dancing to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Where Them Girls At” ahead of her Olympics performance, and Megan herself was all too happy to reshare the video after the US Olympic Gymnastics Team took home the gold medal — bringing Biles’ total to 38. In the video, Biles shows off her nails (“check”), hair (“check”), and makeup (“face pretty”) along with her star-spangled leotard. Megan, in reposting the video on Twitter (never going to call it “X”), added a trio of heart-eye emojis.

In addition to shooting a commercial with a horse to promote NBC’s Olympics coverage, Meg’s also showed off her patriotism by announcing that she’ll be performing at Kamala Harris’ upcoming campaign rally in Atlanta. With plans to “stream Harris’ speech on Facebook, YouTube and the FOX Local App” according to Fox 5 Atlanta, that could mean a chance for those of us not in The Big Peach to follow along.

“Where Them Girls At” is the fourth song from Meg’s new album, Megan, which dropped a little over a month ago on June 30 via Megan’s own independent imprint Hot Girl Productions with distribution through Warner. The song is hugely popular on TikTok, for exactly the reason that Biles used it in her video, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her win spark a resurgence. You can hear it in full below.

Wack 100 Responds To Meghann Cuniff’s Comments About Him Allegedly Lying About Tory Lanez Case

Wack 100 talked about the Tory Lanez trial, again. Lanez has been in prison since September 2023. The court found him guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion at a party in 2020. Prior to his conviction, he made several decisions that most would consider poor ones, including releasing an album that addresses the shooting on almost every song.

In February, Wack 100 claimed that there was reportedly a video of the incident that had yet to be publicly released. He also claimed that the video would be the end of Megan Thee Stallion’s career. Fans poked holes in the story. People noted that if such a video existed, a celebrity gossip outlet like TMZ probably would have spared no expense to uncover it. Months later, Wack 100 is reiterating his claims of the existence of a video in his latest appearance on DJ Vlad’s YouTube channel. He claims that it has not been released because an underage Asian person filmed it. He also claims the family is reluctanct to allow usage in court. Wack added that Los Angeles continues to feel the effects of events like the Rodney King riots. According to him, that contributed to the unwillingness of the family to get involved.

Wack 100 Speaks On Alleged Recording Of Tory Lanez

Wack 100 previously asserted that Megan Thee Stallion lied about being shot. In the above clip, he tells a story about how “humble” and “quiet” Lanez was when he introduced him to Kanye West in Miami. He considers Lanez a friend, so him favoring his friend is to be expected. However, it has been almost a year since Lanez began his prison sentence. There is no indication that a video like the one he mentioned exists.

Lanez recently released Prison Tapes, an album recorded over the last few months. Despite his charges, fans of his are still loyal to him. Two people recently yelled “Free Tory” at Megan Thee Stallion, which prompted a funny response from her. Meanwhile, Megan herself has had a successful year. Her latest album, Megan, went over well with her fans. Her Hot Girl Summer Tour started in May, and concludes at Lollapalooza on August 1. We’ll see how Lanez’s appeal goes.

So far, Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has established strong ties with the music world. Harris channeled the power of Charli XCX’s Brat, she got a musical nod of approval from Beyoncé, and now, Megan Thee Stallion has made it clear where she stands on the 2024 election by throwing her support behind Harris.

Last night (July 29), Meg shared a promotional image on Instagram, for a Harris-supporting appearance, and it lists a time of 7:30 p.m. ET and a location of Atlanta. Rolling Stone also confirmed the news, with a “source” saying that Meg is planning a “special performance” for Harris’ Atlanta rally today, July 30.

How To Watch Megan Thee Stallion’s Performance At Kamala Harris’ Atlanta Rally

As for how to watch Megan’s performance, FOX 5 Atlanta notes they plan to “stream Harris’ speech on Facebook, YouTube and the FOX Local App.” Based on the phrasing, it’s not clear if their stream will include Meg’s time on stage. Either way, video will surely surface on social media shortly after it happens.

As ABC News notes, this will be Harris’ first trip to Georgia since Joe Biden bowed out of the 2024 presidential race. Dan Kanninen, the Harris campaign’s battleground states director, said, “The vice president is energizing and mobilizing our base. Having a candidate who can mobilize our key Biden-Harris coalition, talking about the issues that resonate with Georgians […] make that state in play.”

Megan Thee Stallion Will Perform At Kamala Harris’ Campaign Rally In Atlanta

Megan Thee Stallion is one of the biggest rappers in the world. She landed numerous hits, and managed to survive a lengthy and controversial court case with her career intact. She’s having her best year yet in terms of sales and touring, and now she’s playing it forward. Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed that she will be performing at Kamala Harris’ campaign rally on July 30. The rally will take place in Atlanta, and see the rapper throw her support behind the new Democratic nominee.

Megan Thee Stallion confirmed the collaboration on Instagram. She posted artwork of the campaign rally with both her name and Harris’ emblazoned over the top. The event will take place at 7:30 PM ET, but the specific location has not yet been revealed. Those who have been keeping up with Megan Thee Stallion’s politics, however, will not be surprised by her decision to support Harris. The two celebrities have voiced support for one another in the past. Megan wrote an op-ed about violence for the New York Times in 2020, and Kamala Harris praised her on social media.

Kamala Harris Praised Megan Thee Stallion Back In 2020

“Thank you, @theestallion, for using your voice to speak out,” Harris tweeted. “Black women DO deserve better… We’ll continue to show up not just with lip service, but with action.” More recently, Harris and the Houston rapper linked up at a 2023 event in Washington, D.C. The event was a discussion for “economic empowerment of women,” and Megan Thee Stallion even posted a picture of her and VP Harris on social media. The rapper does not discuss politics in her music, but she has repeatedly urged her fans to go out and vote.

After Harris praised Megan on Twitter in 2020, the rapper retweeted Harris and reminded her followers to provide support. She also posted a video reminding fans to vote on Instagram, which received 1.2 million views. The rapper simultaneously provided a link to the site More Than A Vote, which is an online group of Black athletes and celebrities dedicated to fighting voter suppression. It’s impossible to say how much of an impact Megan had on the outcome of the election, of course, but it surely didn’t hurt. She’s poised to do even more for Kamala Harris during current election cycle.

Tory Lanez’s Driver Claims He Didn’t See Megan Thee Stallion Get Shot

The case involving Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion seemed like a done deal. The former was found guilty of shooting the latter in the foot, and sentenced to prison as a result. Evidently, however, there was more to the story. Tory Lanez’s former driver, Jauquan Smith, recently came forward with an eyewitness account. He recalled driving the vehicle shortly before the 2020 shooting, and claimed that he didn’t see who actually shot Megan Thee Stallion. Smith’s testimony was submitted in an attempt to appeal Lanez’s prison sentence.

Jauquan Smith stated that Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and a woman named Kelsey Harris were arguing in the vehicle. He added that he saw Harris holding the gun that shot Megan at one point, and recalls seeing Lanez attempt to disarm the woman. “I pulled over to stop them,” Smith continued. “Ms. Pete and Ms. Harris both got out of the vehicle and continued to fight, both verbally and physically. It’s here where the driver’s testimony proves revelatory. He insisted that Lanez attempted to diffuse the situation, rather than escalate it. “Mr. Peterson and Ms. Harris began struggling as Mr. Peterson tried to unarm Ms. Harris,” Smith wrote.

Tory Lanez’s Driver Didn’t Testify During The Singer’s Trial

The driver, notably, did not testify during Tory Lanez’s trial. He did, however, provide some clarification as to why he’s coming forward now. He claims the D.A. was not ready to cross examine him during the case, and was not contacted afterwards. Smith asserted that the eye witness testimony he has to offer would have been immensely helpful to Lanez. “I wanted to present this evidence during Mr. Peterson’s trial but was prevented from doing so,” he explained. “I believe I should have been allowed to present this evidence at trial.”

The California Attorney General’s Office presents a different story. They acknowledged that they knew about Jauquan Smith’s testimony, but felt it wouldn’t have helped. “Recognizing that an independent eyewitness had placed the gun in the hands of Harris prior to the shooting,” explained Deputy Attorney General Michael C. Keller. “Defense counsel explained that it would not ‘do anything’ to have appellant’s friend say the same thing.” It remains to be seen what Smith’s testimony will do for Lanez in retrospect.
