Kendrick Lamar Sparks Debate Online After Filming “Not Like Us” Video In L.A.

Kendrick Lamar has social media once again debating the feud between himself and Drake after taking to the streets of Los Angeles to film a new music video for his hit diss track, “Not Like Us.” While many fans are continuing to support him, others are beginning to feel the song is getting played out. The conversation comes after Lamar hosted The Pop Out – Ken & Friends in his hometown, earlier this week.

“As a Kendrick fan this getting played out too much like it’s every I go,” one user admitted under a post from HNHH, while another added: “Sh*t playin everywhere at all times made me hate the beat.” One joked: “He must really hate Drake to be out in La heat in that leather jacket.” Other fans still maintained their support for Drake despite the recent events. “Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Drake won the biggest rap beef,” one wrote. “He lyrically destroyed Metro Kendrick + 20 other in front of the [world emoji] but y’all not ready for that convo tho.”

During The Pop Out – Ken & Friends, Lamar continued to target Drake by performing “Euphoria,” “6:16 in LA,” and “Not Like Us.” “Y’all ain’t gonna let anyone disrespect the West Coast, huh? Oh, y’all ain’t gonna let nobody mock and imitate our legends, huh?” he asked at one point on stage. He finished the night by performing his biggest hit, “Not Like Us,” several times over. Lamar also brought Dr. Dre on stage to introduce the song. He was one of many high-profile guests to perform during the night, in addition to Tyler, the Creator, Steve Lacy, and Ab-Soul, among others.

Ice-T Compares Kendrick Lamar’s “Gang Truce” Concert To A “Cure For Cancer”

Ice-T couldn’t emphasize the importance of Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out – Ken & Friends concert in Los Angeles enough while reflecting on the show on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. He remarked that Lamar uniting various gangs in his hometown of L.A. for the event was comparable to finding the “cure for cancer.” “A Potential Gang Truce in LA is like a Cure for Cancer for us,” Ice-T wrote while sharing a picture from the show. “Extreme Respect to @kendricklamar.”

Fans joined in the celebration in the replies to the post. “Your song Gotta Lotta Love, tried uniting the colours and gangs, should’ve worked too,” one fan remarked. Another suggested: “Hell yes extremely awesome I love compromise and coexistence that’s beautiful.”

During the show, Lamar brought out tons of West Coast stars including Dr. Dre, Tyler, the Creator, Ab-Soul, and more. At one point, he reflected on the significance of the evening for his hometown. “This sh*t making me emotional,” Lamar said on stage. “We been f*cked up since Nipsey died. We been f*cked up since Kobe died. This is unity at its finest. We done lost a lot of homies to this music sh*t, to this street sh*t. For all of us to be together on stage, that sh*t is special. Everybody on this stage got fallen soldiers.” He finished the night by performing his Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” several times over. “Y’all ain’t gonna let anyone disrespect the West Coast, huh? Oh, y’all ain’t gonna let nobody mock and imitate our legends, huh?” he asked.

Bobbi Althoff Seemingly Pulls Up To Kendrick Lamar’s Music Video Shoot In Compton

There are a lot of rumors surrounding a Kendrick Lamar music video shoot in Compton this weekend, and there’s very little concrete information to go by. The big assumption is that this will be for “Not Like Us,” but it’s also possible that it’s for another project or track entirely, so we’ll have to wait and see. However, if it is for the Mustard-produced Drake diss track, it will be one heck of an ironic shoot from what the shindig’s rumored guest list indicates. Moreover, new clips of Bobbi Althoff with YG and a big crowd emerged online which placed her in Compton for this video shoot.

Furthermore, she obviously sticks out like a sore thumb in the clips below, and if she really is going to be in a Kendrick Lamar music video, we’re sure that “Not Like Us” would point out this contrast in quite the ironic or playful manner. But it still seems pretty bizarre, so we’ll need more context by the time (or if) this rumored visual drops. For those unaware, Bobbi Althoff rose to fame as a social media personality and interviewer with an awkward humor and casual demeanor to her. It got her both love and hate all over the Internet, and also landed her an interview with none other than Drake that then resulted in an allegedly soured relationship with a lot of salacious and odd claims emerging about them.

Bobbi Althoff In “Bompton,” Possibly For Kendrick Lamar Music Video Shoot

As such, this all sounds like a recipe for a master Drake troll if this is really Kendrick Lamar’s move and plan for it, albeit one that could blow up in his face easily. Like we mentioned before, we’re going to need to understand the context behind this in a pretty crystal clear manner. Regardless, this is part of the massive hype that “The Pop Out” reignited on Juneteenth in Los Angeles, so we’ll see what happens with the alleged music video. Maybe there’s an inside joke here that we can’t understand yet.

Meanwhile, Drake hasn’t said much about Kendrick Lamar’s recent moves, except a potential message in an IG Story message to his head of security and OVO member Chubbs. The thought of his reaction to Bobbi Althoff possibly linking up with K.Dot is quite comical. Does Drizzy want some due credit for putting Althoff on, or does he expect loyalty from her? Either way, we’d expect a subliminal about her being “not like” them at some point.

Megan Thee Stallion Sings Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” At Her Los Angeles Concert

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” tour has held a lot of great moments so far, but not a lot when it comes to potentially messy drama with other artists, and that’s a great thing. However, if it were to happen once, it’s very understandable that it would happen concerning her not-so-good standings with Drake right now. Moreover, the Houston femcee sang “Not Like Us” at her Los Angeles show on Friday (June 21), paying tribute to the West Coast’s perceived victory in the Kendrick Lamar and Drizzy beef. It was a small rendition of just the chorus with a little dance, but it was also a big statement in some ways.

Of course, you didn’t need Megan Thee Stallion to tell you that Kendrick Lamar beat Drake; after all, K.Dot already took his victory lap with “The Pop Out” show in L.A. on Juneteenth. But considering the Compton lyricist’s previous lyrical shoutouts to Meg on “family ties” and her issues with the OVO mogul, a response of some kind became inevitable. For those unaware, things between her and The Boy became contentious when he rapped about a woman “lying about getting shots, but she’s still a stallion” on his 2022 album Her Loss. It was impossible not to see this as a shot against the “BOA” artist, and she certainly took it as such.

Since then, things grew more complicated and combative with Megan Thee Stallion’s beef with Nicki Minaj, although many now think that her perceived shots at Nicki were aimed for Drake’s neck all along. Regardless, we don’t know whether or not the two biggest rap beefs of the year so far will continue or not. Maybe Kendrick Lamar and company will quickly move on to something else, or Young Money will throw their bat back into the ring. Either way, we’re sure it won’t be a pretty healing process.

Meanwhile, Megan is coming soon, and the new album garnered a lot of hype up to this point. Hopefully Megan Thee Stallion delivers with something special, as she did a great job so far of doing so with her live shows this year. Will we get some more bars for the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, or for her own issues with Aubrey Graham? We’ll see…

Baka Not Nice Reminds Kendrick Lamar Fans Of Drake’s Stage Presence In L.A.

The Pop Out” seemingly brought on the dramatic, spotlit end of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef, with the latter performing multiple of his disses multiple times and uniting the West Coast while doing so. However, there is a lot of discussion on whether this really settles things, and whether or not the Juneteenth show will have any tangible impact on either of their careers. For starters, the Toronto superstar’s next show in California will definitely be an interesting one to witness, and there’s a big question mark on how the West Coast will really respond to his continued success and movement. But Baka Not Nice thinks that there won’t be any sweat.

Moreover, the OVO affiliate posted footage of Drake’s sold-out show in Los Angeles on tour last year, which contained a hype crowd singing along to his “SICKO MODE” verse. Whether or not Kendrick Lamar’s united Cali against him, it’s too big of a state and he’s too big of an artist to lose significant success there… or anywhere else, for that matter. While fans are still speculating on what Drizzy’s thoughts and reactions are concerning all this, the likely answer is that he doesn’t have to worry too much. After all, neither MC was ever in a position to stop the other in their tracks.

Baka Not Nice Defends Drake’s Performance Prowess In L.A.

For those unaware, Baka Not Nice was a key player in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. Kendrick specifically accused him of being a sex trafficker and predator based on accusations that emerged from an assault conviction. K.Dot also held some additional disses for his rival, including an offer for “a little respect” in exchange for Tupac’s ring back. Maybe this post from Baka indicates that there will still be direct tension between all these camps this year that isn’t just avoidant resentment.

Meanwhile, Whitney Alford and Dave Free’s respective appearance and production concerning “The Pop Out” caused some more debate around Drake’s claims against Kendrick Lamar. Maybe his disses on “Family Matters” and “The Heart Part 6” are not as true as OVO thought, but there are always murky waters. Either way, debate will likely continue for the rest of hip-hop history. And all the while, Kendrick Stans will ask why Baka’s still around.

Kendrick Lamar Brings Crips & Bloods Together On Stage While Remembering Nipsey Hussle & Kobe Bryant

Kendrick Lamar was able to act on multiple narratives with “The Pop Out” show last night (Wednesday, Juneteenth) in Los Angeles, all of which provided very special moments. Of course, it served as a final nail in the coffin in his Drake beef, but folks will likely remember the show throughout history for much more heartening reasons. One of these is the massive heap of West Coast artists that came out to perform, and the other was how moving it was to see members of various Los Angeles gangs, namely Bloods and Crips, sharing the stage in peace and calling for an end to violence between them. In addition to this display, K.Dot also spoke on the loss of Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant, and how this moment is also for them and all the other unnamed lives lost in these struggles.

“This s**t making me emotional,” Kendrick Lamar remarked after a performance that followed, among many other parts of Mustard’s set, a tribute to Nip. “We been f***ed up since Nipsey died. We been f***ed up since Kobe died. This is unity at its finest. We done lost a lot of homies to this music s**t, to this street s**t. For all of us to be together on stage, that s**t is special. Everybody on this stage got fallen soldiers.” This falls alongside Mr. Morale’s previous statements on gang unity and how he advocated for that within his art.

Kendrick Lamar Speaks On Nipsey Hussle & Kobe Bryant

Whether or not Los Angeles gang culture responds in kind remains to be seen, but let’s bask in the moment and appreciate the message. After all, Kendrick Lamar is not our savior, and there were some notable exclusions from this “Pop Out” that indicate that, at least on a music industry level, there’s still some unity to achieve. The Game pledged his support for Drake in many’s eyes through his social media and his Rick Ross diss. As such, this prompted a lot of speculation online about what could be going on behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, other special appearances in “The Pop Out” crowd included a SZA, who donned a disguise to party with the people. Even if this was born out of a feud, it’s still great to see Kendrick Lamar take advantage of the opportunity to speak to something greater. It clearly resonated with a lot of fans and viewers outside of the West Coast, as well. We don’t always get the luxury of these unitary moments, so witnessing them is a true privilege and a hopeful declaration.

The Game Skips Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” Show & Leaves Fans Wondering Why

Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert boasted a lot of special guest performers and attendees, but there’s one particular exclusion that has many fans speculating on potential explanations. Moreover, the show was a celebration of all things West Coast, but some rappers that have repped Los Angeles all the way did not appear for unknown and likely innocent reasons. However, one MC who didn’t attend might have more reason to avoid an appearance, and that’s The Game. Social media began to theorize on why he wasn’t there, especially considering that he and K.Dot have had a pretty good and stable relationship over the years.

Still, some factors have always interfered with this perception, such as past claims of jealousy and, most notably and recently, The Game’s apparent support of Drake during the latter’s beef with Kendrick Lamar this year. In fact, he even dissed Rick Ross, who supported Ken against his formerly close colleague Drizzy, so a lot of fans assumed that the Los Angeles spitter sided with his city’s opposition this time around. Regardless of whether this was intentional or not, there honestly aren’t a whole lot of solid indicators that he actually picked a side. The closest thing we got to that was a social media post playing The Boy’s “Energy,” which was enough confirmation for many.

Kendrick Lamar With A Sea Of West Coast Artists & Fans At “The Pop Out”

Meanwhile, this is what The Game had to say a few years ago about his exclusion from 2022’s Super Bowl halftime show, which hosted many Los Angeles artists including Kendrick Lamar. “I was hurt by that,” he told I Am Athlete‘s Brandon Marshall. “The real reason I wasn’t on the Super Bowl is because I’m not a ‘safe’ artist. You don’t know what the Game gon’ do when he get up there. So, it’s just like, ‘He not safe,’ so they went with the safe artists.

Fans React To & Speculate On The Game’s Absence

“We, on the West Coast, are the only motherf***ers who have this crab-in-a-barrel mentality, where we wanna keep n***as down,” The Game claimed. “Snoop Dogg is icon. Dre is icon [he popped out for the Kendrick Lamar show, too]. Em is an icon, but Em is not from L.A. 50 is not from L.A. I’m not taking away from the fact that they were on the Super Bowl, but L.A. [artists] wouldn’t have been in the Detroit Super Bowl or New York Super Bowl. It just wouldn’t have happened… L.A., L.A., L.A. all around the Super Bowl and I didn’t get the call.”

Diddy Returns To Los Angeles Following Months Of Controversy

It’s hard to think of anybody who has had a worse 2023 than Diddy so far. It began last year for the rap mogul when he was sued by Cassie over allegations that he was physically abusive to her during their relationship. That turned out to be just the beginning of the legal trouble he would face though. Numerous more lawsuits emerged in the following months, none more evocative the Lil Rod’s. That suit brought in numerous other figures like Yung Miami and Meek Mill. It made some increasingly wild claims that left even Diddy’s haters wondering if Rod was telling the truth.

Then it escalated to much more serious legal trouble in March when the federal government raided two of the rap mogul’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami. They later revealed that the raids were a part of an investigation into allegations of sex trafficking. With the investigation presumed to be still ongoing it’s not surprising that he’s kept a pretty low profile. One place the label-head did pop up is in an apology video. He felt compelled to make one when footage of him allegedly assaulting Cassie captured through a hotel security camera was leaked by CNN. Now after an extended period of time hiding away in Florida, he’s reportedly back in Los Angeles. Check out the proof captured by TMZ below.
