Logic Shares Free Mixtape “Inglorious Basterd”

Logic has now delivered on his promise from last month, releasing his free mixtape, Inglorious Basterd. The man has been a tear in 2023, putting out his own material, as well as falling into a producer role. Back on February 24, Logic unleashed College Park, a 17-song project with a stacked lyrical features list. From wordsmiths such as Bun B, Joey Bada$$, and RZA, the project was a success with fans and some critics.

We also got word back in July that he would be the one exclusively producing Asher Roth’s project. Now, Logic is now here to share his Bandcamp exclusive drop, Inglorious Basterd. On August 16, the Maryland rapper hopped on Instagram to announce that he would have new music out soon. In the caption, he said, “Here is the album artwork for my free mixtape Inglorious Basterd coming soon!! I just dropped the intro song called “Still Pushin” over Lupe Fiasco’s classic “Kick Push” for free for everyone on Discord!! Join and enjoy!! #RattPack.”

For a project full of demos and loosies, this output from Logic is still very enjoyable. While there are no themes or storylines woven throughout, it is cool that we have a large collection of random cuts to see his creative process. He does not just sample the one Lupe song, though. Logic also samples plenty of other classics such as “Started From the Bottom” by Drake, “Backseat Freestyle” by Kendrick Lamar,” “Wolves” by Kanye West, “Hustlin’” by Rick Ross, and plenty more. Definitely give Logic’s new effort listen above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new free mixtape, Inglorious Basterd, from Logic? Do you wish more artists released more free material? Is this Logic’s best release of 2023? Juicy J Sells Out Book In One Hour & Confirms Forthcoming Album w/ Logic

What Juicy J say? Shut the f*ck up!

Juicy J will forever go down in history as one of the GOATs, someone who’s influence extends far beyond music. And now, he’s telling his story through his new book.

Aptly titled Chronicles Of The Juice Man, the memoir is written in collaboration with Soren Baker, detailing the Memphis native’s rise from the streets to superstardom. It also showcases the most vulnerable side of Juicy J we’ve seen yet, touching on powerful topics such as mental health, substance abuse, addiction, and much more.

On Tuesday, September 12th, Juicy J hosted an exclusive book signing at Barnes & Noble inside The Grove in Los Angeles, California. At 7pm, fans were eager to line up to get a chance to meet the “Bandz A Make Her Dance” rapper, even purchasing the book with the intention of getting it signed by Juicy J himself.

People from all walks of life came through to support, with many rocking Juicy J/Three 6 Mafia merch. One guy even flew in from Japan just to meet Juicy J!

During the event, Juicy J also revealed that him and Logic have a forthcoming album in the works. While the two have worked together in the past, sharing an undeniable bond and friendship, this is the first time we’re hearing of a collaborative project.

Huge congratulations to Juicy J on the new book, which allegedly sold out in just one hour! Purchase yours on Amazon here.

C Dot Castro And Logic Trade Bars On “Masked Up”

C Dot Castro and Logic have some new heat on the street that many fans will eat up. These two have worked together extensively lately, and “Masked Up” is just another banger to add to their collection. For those who do not know, C Dot Castro has been in the underground scene for quite some time. He has put out a good amount of work since the mid-2010’s and he is looking to break free from that.

Additionally, he joined Logic’s own record label, Bobby Boy Records. Other artists on the label include Travis Stacey, JRB, Big Lenbo, Doctor Destruction, John Lindahl, and Kajo. It began in 2019, originally under Elysium, but that has obviously changed. Logic also partnered with Def Jam Records and Universal Music Group to make this happen. C Dot Castro brings a lot of energy to the track, providing the chorus and a full-fleshed out verse.

Are C Dot Castro And Logic A Dynamic Duo?

It makes you wonder if C Dot and Logic should come together for a collab album because their chemistry is so effortless on “Masked Up.” It was difficult to decide who has the better verse because both bring speedy flows and great rhymes. C Dot raps, “Spin it back like a ereh-ereh mix, mm Got that dope when you itch for the quick fix My whole life I’ve been running with misfits My whole life I’ve been up in the trenches.” The “ereh-ereh” bar is fun when you listen to it because C Dot is mimicking what a record sounds like when you push it back and forth.

What are your thoughts on this new track from Logic and C Dot Castro? Who has the best verse on the song? With all of their collaborations out should they drop a collab album? Give us your thoughts on all of the above, below in the comments section. Additionally, be sure to stay locked in with HNHH for all the latest new music and all of the hottest song releases.

Logic Sells His Entire Music Catalog For Eight Figures

Influence Media Partners have bought the publishing rights to Logic’s entire musical catalog, according to a press release. The Grammy-nominated artist has eight studio albums and eight mixtapes under his belt from the last 15 years. The catalog totals 185 songs, and now Influence is in control of the publishing rights in exchange for an eight-figure payout. This is not new territory for Logic, as the rapper has previously announced potentially retiring from the music industry for various reasons. And while he hasn’t called it quits, this is a step he’s taking so his music continues to leave a legacy.

“It’s important to me that the positive messages of my music continue to reach new audiences,” Logic said when talking about the deal. “I’m excited to partner with Rene and the Influence Media Partners team to make a further impact through creativity.” A big proponent of positivity, Logic recently partnered with BetterHelp, the nonprofit organization, to help get Logic fans free therapy if they’re in need. He’s also about to go on tour for his eighth studio album, College Park, with Juicy J in tow as a special guest.

Logic’s Absurd Catalog

You might think you know how prolific Logic has been over the years. But in reading the list of songs he just sold, it really is eye-popping the number of certified bangers the rapper put out into the world. The catalog includes “1-800-273-8255,” his therapy-positive anthem with Alessia Cara and Khalid, which went multi-Platinum. There’s also “EVERYDAY” featuring Marshmello and “HOMICIDE” featuring Eminem. For the fans of his earlier stuff, the catalog has “Fade Away” and “Stainless” from 2015’s The Incredible True Story and “Gang Related” and “Alright” from 2014’s Under Pressure.

With a tour, a new collaboration with Better Help, and more verses swirling around in his head, Logic is far from done with putting out content. In the last few years, he’s released his first novel, a memoir about his childhood, and plenty of social media content for the fans to get hyped about. No matter which way he goes at this point, best believe we’ll be stoked for anything the rapper decides to create.

Logic Boots Troll Out Of Austin Concert: “Who Whistling Like A B**ch?”

Artists and performers are some of the highest-paid people in the world. Still, that doesn’t mean their job is always glamorous or easy. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen an abundance of disruptive audience members causing a stir, from one man hitting Bebe Rexha in the face with a phone resulting in his arrest to, more recently, someone placing their mother’s ashes on Pink’s stage in the midst of her performance. Those instances were undeniably wild and newsworthy, but it seems a similar one that took place at a Logic concert earlier this month was passed over.

While taking the stage in Austin, Texas, mid-way through June, the “Under Pressure” rapper stopped the show to kick out a disrespectful fan whistling in the audience. “I can hear you whistling, shut the f**k up,” Logic said the first time he addressed the patron. However, when they failed to stop their antics, the entertainer became more upset. “I’m going to kick you the f**k out of here if you do not shut up. Think I’m joking? Think I’m joking? Okay, who is it? Who whistling like a b**ch?” he asked the anonymous person in the crowd.

“Where? Where they at?… F**k you, you f**king up my show,” the soon-to-be father of two further ranted. “I’m sitting here, trying to talk about a story of peace, love and positivity, and everybody so they can f**king follow their own dreams and do what they want, and you being a b***h.” He went on for quite some time before deciding which attendee was guilty and having his team escort them out. Not everyone was impressed by the awkward moment, though some have praised Logic for demanding respect from his audience.

Things may not have gone exactly as planned during his stop in Austin earlier this month, but that hasn’t stopped the former Def Jam artist from pushing on. Just last week Logic experimented with an interesting new sound on his “Figure It Out” single. Check that out at the link below, and make sure to tap back in later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Rappers Like Eminem: Logic, Hopsin, NF & More

Before we dive into the world of rappers like Eminem, let’s take a moment to recognize the immense influence that hip hop music and culture have had on our society. Originating from the urban landscapes of New York City in the late 1970s, hip hop has evolved into a global phenomenon. Among the pioneers of this music genre, Eminem further stands out. He is a figure who transformed the landscape of rap with his raw, expressive lyrics and versatile styles.

Marshall Mathers, known professionally as Eminem, broke into the mainstream rap scene in 1999 with his album The Slim Shady LP. His unique style and audacious lyrics quickly gained him a dedicated following. His storytelling prowess and his ability to convey complex emotions through his music set him apart from his contemporaries. The rap icon’s reputation as a trailblazer in the rap industry is also well-deserved. He was one of the few white rappers who gained mainstream success in a predominantly black genre.

Rappers Influenced By Eminem

Eminem’s success and style have influenced a new generation of rappers who follow in his footsteps. Artists like Logic, Hopsin, and NF have openly acknowledged their admiration for Eminem and his influence on their music. Logic, a Maryland-born rapper, gained recognition for his storytelling abilities, similar to Eminem’s. His music also explores themes of mental health and societal issues. It shows the influence of Eminem’s candid and controversial style.

Hopsin is known for his aggressive and energetic style. He often incorporates shock value into his lyrics, a tactic reminiscent of Eminem’s earlier work. His music further explores personal struggles and harsh critiques of the industry. These themes have been prevalent in Eminem’s work. Meanwhile, NF is an artist from Michigan, as well. He has also expressed his appreciation for Eminem. His music often reflects a deep emotional intensity, similar to Eminem’s raw and passionate delivery.

The Eminem Legacy Continues

Eminem’s influence extends beyond just individual artists. His impact can be seen in the broader rap industry as well. His fearless approach to tackling controversial topics and his bold, unapologetic style have paved the way for other artists to express themselves freely.

Despite the critics and controversies, Em has remained true to his art, delivering music that speaks to his experiences and perspectives. His willingness to be vulnerable and candid in his music has inspired a generation of rappers to do the same.

Conclusion: The Power of Authenticity

Rappers like Eminem continue to shape the rap and hip hop industry with their fearless authenticity and innovative musical styles. They carry on the legacy of a man who broke barriers and transformed the landscape of rap music. Em’s influence remains a testament to the power of authenticity in music, proving that it’s not just about the rhythm and the rhymes but also about the raw, unfiltered emotions that music can evoke. As we continue to see new artists emerge, the impact of rappers like Eminem will continue to be felt, ensuring that the essence of true hip-hop remains alive and well.

Logic’s Estranged Father Asked Him For $1 Million And A Truck The First Time He Met Him As An Adult

Everybody’s got family problems, but perhaps no one has the same kind of problems as an entertainer. For example, Logic recently recounted how his fame and wealth figured into an awkward reunion with his father. Appearing on comedian Andrew Santino‘s podcast, Whiskey Ginger, Logic said his dad asked him for $1 million the first time they met after a long estrangement.

“Last time when I was talking to my dad, he asked me for a million dollars,” the Maryland rapper recalled. “F*ck no, I didn’t give it to him. He said, ‘I want a million dollars.’ I said, ‘For what?’ He said, ‘For my band so that we can buy a house and make music in it.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ So I ask him once we get back together: ‘Please don’t ask me for money. Can we just f*cking throw catch or some shit?’ And he’s like, ‘Alright! Alright.’ This MF flies in, he’s not there for six hours and he’s like, ‘I need you to buy me a truck.’ Immediately! And then that goes into, ‘I need you to pay all my bills.’ And then I’m like, ‘Dad, no.’”

Fortunately for Logic, he’s got enough money that he seems to be living his best life. Lately, he’s been doing covers of classic rap songs like “It Was A Good Day” and “The Weed Song” while hanging around his impressive homestead making videos about Kanye being a moron and making music with his rapper friends.

Logic Speaks On Dad Asking For $1 Million Dollars

In case you have not noticed, Logic has been adamant about being a family man. In January he revealed he and his wife are expecting another child. Additionally, he has opened up about his upbringing frequently. Logic has talked about being biracial with an African American father numerous times throughout his musical catalog. This week, an interview began to surface of Logic speaking on his dad’s monetary wishes.

On May 10th, a Tik Tok was posted by the user “cliynq” showing Logic’s appearance on the Whiskey Ginger w/ Andrew Santino podcast. In the interview posted on May 5th, Logic got candid about his more recent reconnection with his father. He discovered he and his Father both are musicians. Additionally, he revealed his father asked him for $1 million dollars to contribute to his musical plans. “I want a million dollars for my band so we can buy a house and make music in it,” he said paraphrasing the conversation with his father. Logic revealed he declined his father’s request. “Please don’t ask me for money– can we just like throw Fu*cking catch or some Sh*t?” Additionally, he revealed his dad asked for a new car and for him to pay all his bills.

Logic Declines His Dad’s Request

Moreover, this has not been the first time he spoke about his reconnection with his father. In January, he posted a video on his Instagram showcasing him spending time with his father. In the video, Logic asks his father to give advice to his nearly 7 million Instagram followers. “Keep it real,” his dad said. Hilariously, he follows up on his response with “When keeping it real goes wrong, you’re in a h*ll of a lot of trouble.” In the interview, Logic also released how his views of the importance of family pushed him to reconnect with his dad.

Furthermore, Logic also stated he is working on an album with his father. He is looking to teach his dad a few music lessons including “black ownership.” As family remains at the forefront, Logic continues to include family moments on his social media as he is gearing up to be a father again.
