“When we started Outside Lands back in 2008, we had a vision to create a unique festival experience that had never been done before. 15 years later, Outside Lands continues to be a bright spot for the city of San Francisco and pushes boundaries in music, food, drink, art and cannabis programming, as well as providing space for environmental and social initiatives,” Allen Scott — Co-Founder of Outside Lands & President of Concerts & Festivals at Another Planet Entertainment — said in a statement. “The festival celebrates everything we love about the Bay Area’s rich cultural history. We’re proud of the positive financial impact the festival has on San Francisco, injecting more than $1 billion into the SF economy since its inception.”

The headlining gig for Lamar will come over a year after the release of his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. He made numerous festival appearances throughout his ongoing The Big Steppers Tour in promotion of the project. In doing so he brought along Baby Keem as a supporting act. Lil Baby Joins Governor’s Ball 2023 Lineup, Teases New Music Coming Soon

January is already halfway over, which means festival season is rapidly approaching. To prepare for the coming months, several of the biggest events have already been unleashing their lineups, including Coachella. As far as east coast concerts go, Governor’s Ball is one of the first to show off its impressive roster of artists for the upcoming weekend of live tunes and fun in the sun.

It will take place in New York City’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park from June 9 – 11. The 2023 edition of the beloved festival is sure to bring in music lovers from various genres. Friday will see Lizzo headline after names like Lil Uzi Vert, Diplo, Omar Apollo, and Joey Bada$$ take the stage.

The next day, Odesza will have the final show of the evening. However, many are eager to see what Lil Baby will have in store for his set that same night. On Monday (January 16), the Atlanta native teased that he has “New Music Otw.” The news came via the caption of his latest Instagram upload.

The images find the My Turn hitmaker sporting a double denim look. He also wears a fluffy pink bucket hat on his head. While the photos don’t exactly reveal what we can expect to hear from him, it is evident that the father of two is feeling more confident than ever before.

Before his Saturday set at Governor’s Ball, attendees will also hear from Oliver Tree, Syd, Finneas, and Amber Mark.

For those that stick around for the festival’s final day, countless major performances are in store. Earlier in the day, acts like Phony Ppl, Sabrina Claudio, and Pinkpantheress will give it their all.

As if that weren’t enough, the evening will see shows from Tems, Central Cee, Pusha T, Giveon, Lil Nas X, and finally, Kendrick Lamar to end the weekend with a bang.

While several of the stars on the roster are causing excitement to buzz in the air, it’s Lil Baby who really has the hip-hop community talking. His last release came in the form of October’s It’s Only Me.

Since then, the most recent headlines surrounding the rapper have been about him unfollowing Gunna on Instagram in the midst of the YSL RICO drama. Read more about that here, and check back later for more music news updates.

Early Access tickets will be available beginning on Thursday, January 12 at 10:00 AM. General Admission (4-Day), GA+ (4-Day), VIP (4-Day), Platinum (4-Day), and single-day tickets will go on sale afterward.

Lamar has been traveling the world while promoting his Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album. He shared the project back in May 2022. It will be Lamar’s second time headlining at Bonnaroo with his last appearance coming in 2015.

As for the Foo Fighters, the band recently confirmed that they will continue performing, despite the death of Taylor Hawkins, last year.

“Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life,” they said in a statement. “And for the past 27 years our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together. A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music. Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.”
