Tyler, The Creator Unveils Full Camp Flog Gnaw Lineup: Kendrick Lamar, SZA & More

Well, after four years since its last iteration in 2019, Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is back on November 11 and 12 this year at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Moreover, if you were online just a few hours ago, you know that the festival live-streamed people painting each and every artist on the lineup on a mural. Now, we have the full list of performers, and it’s an eclectic, exciting, and often surprising collection of amazing talent. Of course, the Hawthorne native’s reputation as a creative and curator precedes him, but this was still no less joyous to see unfold. Unfortunately, tickets for it sold out almost immediately, but if you’re looking for one, best of luck to you on your resale cop journey.

Furthermore, let’s talk about this lineup. Camp Flog Gnaw will host the first joint set from The Hillbillies, better known as Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem. Keeping up with TDE connections, SZA will also perform, as well as Tyler himself, obviously. Other massive names on the lineup include Ice Spice, Kali Uchis, Lil Yachty, Rex Orange County, Dominic Fike, PinkPantheress, and former BROCKHAMPTON mastermind Kevin Abstract. In addition, the festival also brought on Fuerza Regida, the regional Mexican collective that’s making huge waves in the Latin American market, which is the most special and surprising addition here.

Camp Flog Gnaw 2023 Lineup

However, let’s not forget about some Odd Future era mainstays at Camp Flog Gnaw: Syd, Earl Sweatshirt, Mike G, Domo Genesis, and Left Brain. Also, many of Tyler’s past collaborators have a spot on the bill, like Teezo Touchdown, Maxo Kream, Fana Hues, and DAISY WORLD. One of the most exciting placements for hip-hop fans, though, has to be a set from Clipse, as well as other great MCs and rising groups like Maxo (not the Kream variety), redveil, Paris Texas, AG Club, and many more. BADBADNOTGOOD, Ravyn Lenae, WILLOW, Toro Y Moi, Khamari, julie, Liv.e, beabadoobee, and d4vd are among other exciting acts.

Meanwhile, it feels like it was ages ago that the CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST pioneer teased the festival’s return in Keem and Kendrick’s “The Hillbillies” music video. Now, fans can finally start to think about who they want to see, and who’s going to steal the show. Let us know who you are most excited to see (whether live or streamed) in the comments down below. As always, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Tyler, The Creator and Camp Flog Gnaw.

Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Headliners Revealed On Livestream

Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival is making its grand return this year, and that means a grand reveal. Moreover, the festival’s official website and Twitch page are currently live-streaming the reveal of its lineup as of writing this article. The footage shows various people painting the names on a festival mural, and they’re still painting at the time of publishing. Still, there are already some exciting names on display, and we’re still waiting on some of the more big and mainstream announcements. Given all the anticipation for this upcoming spectacle on November 11 and 12 of this year in Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, fans went into a frenzy.

Furthermore, this is Camp Flog Gnaw’s first iteration in four years, as it hadn’t ran since 2019. That year, performers and special guests included Tyler himself, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, a controversial Drake appearance, and many, many more. Unfortunately, tickets for this year’s run sold out lighting-fast, so you’ll be hard-pressed to find one if you don’t have yours already. Regardless, this creative and anticipation-building way to reveal its performers is bringing everyone along for the ride.

What’s more is that the Hawthorne creative and innovator revealed Camp Flog Gnaw’s return in perhaps the coolest way possible. If you didn’t already know, he had a cameo appearance in Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar’s music video for their loosie, “The Hillbillies.” During it, they performed at Dodger Stadium and Tyler flashed a badge that read “Camp Flog Gnaw 2023,” and followed the video with an official announcement. With that in mind, many expect for the pgLang MCs to appear on this lineup very soon.

Meanwhile, it’s still incomplete, but let’s run through some of the many names already announced as of writing this article. There’s redveil, AG Club, Paris Texas, Ravyn Lenae, Fana Hues, Maxo Kream, Baby Rose, Left Brain, Teezo Touchdown, and a few more. If you caught this article early, find the link to the livestream below. If not, it’ll probably take you to the official full lineup once this stream wraps up. If there was ever a year to tune into the BET Awards, it’s certainly this one. Moreover, just in case if you’re a reader stumbling onto a hip-hop website, the genre turns 50 years old in 2023, and the awards ceremony is doing a lot to celebrate. Specifically to honor this anniversary and massive milestone, the media organization is bringing together all eras of the genre to celebrate. If you’re looking to tune in, the show will take place on Sunday, June 25 at 8pm eastern time. Furthermore, there’s something for every generation of rap fan at this event.

Let’s break it down, shall we? From the early years (or Golden Era, as it’s affectionately called), we have many pioneers. Big Daddy Kane, Kid ‘N Play, MC Lyte, The Sugarhill Gang, Uncle Luke, Warren G, 69 Boyz, and Yo-Yo will appear. Going deeper into the ’90s and 2000s, stars include Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Master P, Trick Daddy, Trina, DJ Unk, the Ying Yang Twins, E-40, Soulja Boy, the Fast Life Yungstaz (F.L.Y.), and Ja Rule. Finally, there are a few more modern names, namely Chief Keef and Tyga, as part of the 50th anniversary event. If that seems low, it’s because there are more contemporary stars performing already to add to the celebration. In fact, these represent some of this year’s nominees.

The special set won’t be Cam’ron and Mase’s first time on the stage together in recent years after the two made amends last summer. In January, they took to the stage in New York City to perform their hit “Horse & Carriage” for the very first time live nearly 25 years after its release.

They have also been hosting the show, It Is What It Is, for several months now. On the program, they discuss a wide range of topics relating to the major sports. Cam’ron recently explained the decision to bring Mase in for the show during an interview with Good Day New York.

The Made In America Lineup

“Mase got me my first record deal, ever,” he recalled. “So doing this show and creating this show and having him be a part of it, it felt like I’m giving back to him for helping me even be an entertainer. I may not have been where I’m at if [Ma$e] didn’t take me to Biggie Smalls [The Notorious B.I.G.] and get me my first record deal… I wanted to pay him back, and hopefully, this show will do that.” Cam’ron and Mase infamously had a falling out in the 2000s and went on to trade multiple diss tracks about each other. They eventually made amends in 2022.

The announcement of Rolling Loud Miami’s lineup comes after the festival organizers confirmed that the event won’t be returning to New York in 2023. They addressed the decision in a statement shared last month. “We saw the beginning of the King Vamp era, Travis power through his full set through the pain, Parti and Uzi reuniting on stage, Nicki, 50 Cent, and A$AP Rocky putting on iconic headlining performances in their hometown, [and] Juice WRLD’s final festival performance,” they wrote. They explained, “Sadly, due to logistical factors beyond our control, Rolling Loud will not return to New York in 2023. But don’t worry, this isn’t Goodbye, more like See you later. We’ll be back in New York when the time is right.”
